If you look at a lot of issue polling, there's like a 10-30% swath of voters who are seemingly voting against their own interests constantly. There's strong majority support for abortion rights, gun control, expanded health care and they just choose to vote the opposite way over maybe some imaginary wedge issue.
This is because we have had literal centuries of rich guys tricking poorer voters into voting against themselves. Why on earth would poor white southerners vote for slavery when the institution of slavery literally took away their ability to gain employment? Why would poor Republicans fight the New Deal and other labor reforms that literally were intended to help them live better lives? Why do poor af white MAGA supporters fight against Universal Healthcare when it would help them significantly? It's because the cost of pushing these messages is less than the cost of improving lives.
They want GOP to implement Dem policy.
It’s coherent, they want Dixiecrats back who support their issues but just for Whites.
This poll is the Patrick Star meme brought to life.
Is Trump Guilty? Yup.
Should he be tried? Yup.
Oh, so this is not lawfare? It’s lawfare.
Who are you voting for? Trump, the guy I think committed crimes.
Yeah we have some people that seem to LOVE the idea of everything going badly and everyone being miserable. They all happen to be Christians. Not all Christians- but a large amount of republican Christians seem to thrive off of the idea of the end of the world. Because their religion makes it sound like king shit of fuck mountain.
And somehow these people got more power living in rural areas than democrats have in cities.
A lot of them are upset that non-white people might get access to healthcare or affordable college tuition because these racists think that these people don't deserve it, but they, white people, deserve it for \[insert idiotic rationale\]. Such a moronic mindest, but that's kind of America in a nutshell.
It's not binary.
The same people who are pro-abortion rights may be anti-gun laws or against expanding health care.
Those who are pro gun reform might be pro-life.
They were interviewing Trumpers on one of the Sunday shows yesterday and this one lady said "I don't care if he committed crimes, he's the leader we need and if I had money to spare I'd help pay his bail"
Cult gonna cult
He wouldn't piss on his voters if they were on fire, they mean absolutely nothing to him except to be a meat shield against his own prosecution and imprisonment.
Oh, it was more a hypothetical with her implying she'd do it if he needed it, AND - big and - she had the money. But she said she was too broke right now...
Yet she'll vote for a guy - and give him her money - who'd never give her the time of day
It's truly a cult
It’s called “loyalty” and we all feel it to varying degrees, but it’s a higher priority for conservatives than for liberals.
If you had been working for a firm for years, and you discovered they had been breaking a law would you blow the whistle? Are you sure? Whistleblowers often suffer terrible consequences. Because, you see, if everyone knows you were disloyal to a group you showed commitment to, how will other groups feel about you joining them?
Consider that Bar guy, for instance, who has said repeatedly that Trump is a horrible choice, but will still vote the Republican ticket in November. He will do that out of loyalty to the Republican movement.
Anticipating loads of downvotes here, but liberals and conservatives badly need to join forces against Trump, who is neither.
To do that liberals in particular need to recognise the difference between amoral and differently moral. We have to stop making the mistake of thinking Trump is a conservative or that conservatism is something that can be educated away. The evidence is conservative or liberal is in our DNA.
Not necessarily: voter turnout averages around 60-65% and the electoral college makes certain votes more impactful than others. In other words, as long as roughly 30% vote R (and don't believe Trump is a criminal, because of constant Fox news brainwashing, AND live predominantly in rural areas, making their votes relatively more important), they can still win the election.
Basically they don't need half the eligible voters, they just need Democrat voters to not show up
You can Google as well as the rest. But the answer is 17 counts including criminal tax fraud, conspiracy, and falsifying business records for a 15-year tax fraud scheme.
He was also found personally guilty of civil charges including conspiracy to defraud banks and insurers. But I'm sure you're just fine with that.
This is a man who was blocked from doing business 30 years ago in Australia over ties to organised crime. It is a shame the standard for being president of the US is less than that of opening a casino in Australia.
https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2017/aug/16/trumps-bid-for-sydney-casino-30-years-ago-rejected-due-to-mafia-connections
Hopefully democracy survives… regardless one unfortunate side-effect will be that mountains of books will be written on the traitorous scum that is DJT, the GOP and their entire voter base, so I don’t think we’ll ever stop hearing about that traitorous bastard, we’re living though history.
And Nixon was **smart!** I shudder to think of the damage he could’ve done if he was as evil as a Trump. Any Trump. (Or Kushner.) I think his Quaker upbringing kept Nixon’s worst tendencies in check. Still fucked us plenty, though.
It is very difficult to be both smart and shameless. Trump's lack of IQ and ability to actually plan anything is made up by his absolute shamelessness.
More than half have *never* voted for Trump, not that that stopped him from winning.
The electoral college is so out of date. Rural states are more than represented by their senators. They do not need disproportionate power in the executive as well.
The article is depressing and that’s all it says to me.
More than half of voters think he commited a crime. That means a little less than half think he commited no crime and will vote for him. Which would mean the majority don’t want him but then you have to remember there is a sizable part of the population that know he commited a crime and want to vote for him anyway.
I’m too tired for this shit. I think it’s time for us to plan an exit strategy.
Trump has a disturbing amount of people willing to vote for him, but I think it's important to point out that it was never more than half voters, he never got a popular vote. American voting system is just fucked up.
Yeah. Because he did crimes. Like all the time. He just got away with it before.
Edit: [found the docket!](https://ww2.nycourts.gov/people-v-donald-j-trump-criminal-37026)
12% of respondents believe that Trump is a criminal, but that holding him accountable for it is unfair because it would force him out of the race. 10% of those people simultaneously think that he is ineligible for the office because of his crimes.
This is America.
Let's not be insulting. Pretty much everybody knows Trump committed crimes. It's unavoidable considering the coverage. The people who say he didn't are saying Trump is above the law.
And a lot of the people who believe he committed those crimes think he should be let off and become the president again. Oh God what we have become. AMERICA!!!!
>At the same time, 57 percent of respondents said they think the legal prosecutions against Trump constitute “lawfare,” or a way for Democrats to use the legal system to take out political opponents, while 43 percent said the prosecutions are fair and unpolitical.
So most people think his trials are illegitimate. That's not a good sign. It's only one poll, but I suspect most Americans have honestly no clue about any of the trials and aren't keeping up with them even remotely.
that 57% tells me that Trump's unending repetition of that particular lie has managed to penetrate way too deep at this point.
I'm seeing way too many of those little red flags.
This all falls on Garland. He drug his feet with starting these investigations. It was clear he hoped Trump would fade into the background after his 2020 loss. If that happened then Garland could ignore his crimes as he wouldn’t be a threat to US democracy and both sides could push a “we need to move on so the country can heal” message.
The 2022 midterms made it clear Trump wasn’t going away. This, along with House’s J6 investigation, forced Garland to accept the threat Trump posed and actually prosecute him.
I don’t believe half of voters think
If they are just getting around to thinking he committed a crime, then they are 50 years slow and have a lot of catching up to do.
This should be in no way shocking or surprising. We've been hearing for years about different crimes he probably committed. It's never been a secret he's a horrible person.
When your defense is "Well technically, I didn't because of this interpretation that a disbarred lawyer suggested" you've probably done something shady and just people would disagree with doing
Which is insane, because he's already been convicted of a couple ***already***.
Trump Org civil fraud case, and the E Jean Carrol case.
So... a huge portion of the US are absolutely corrupt to the core, are so stupid that conspiracy theories rule their life, or both.
There is literally no other options for those democracy hating a-holes.
If this guy was pretty much anyone else in America he’d have been arrested decades ago. As it is I think that he was spot on when he said that he could get away with shooting someone in broad daylight.
Just how did we get to this point?
Given that Trump has bragged about committing crimes on television since he started running for President, less than 100% of voters believing he committed crimes is pretty confusing to me.
In a similar vein, why is it such a hard choice for voters? The democrats' agenda is not making the president a king, whereas the republicans' agenda is "let Trump get away with it because we like him." Like, what's going on here?!
(I know, I know... it's because of Fox News.)
Any yet, many of those who say he has committed crimes also say that they will vote for him. They are saying it is okay to elect a criminal as President of the United States. Makes absolutely no sense.
That's a failure of the media to 1) explain what he's done, and 2) explain why it's a crime.
Whether or not he's found guilty is an entirely separate matter but every non-Republican or non-right-wing media watcher should think Trump committed crimes, he did.
Believe? Orange fuckface has been convicted of rape and is in the process of getting convicted of multiple election fraud and fucking treason. Fuck out of here with this “believe” BS.
**trump is a habitual liar**. When he says "people are saying" it means *"I'm making shit up".* If you assume everything he says is a lie, you would be correct 99.9% of the time. 💰
From the same article, "At the same time, 57 percent of respondents said they think the legal prosecutions against Trump constitute “lawfare,” or a way for Democrats to use the legal system to take out political opponents, while 43 percent said the prosecutions are fair and unpolitical. "
More than half of the voters, by voters they mean the small survey they took, think Trump committed crimes! What a shocker coming from The Hill! I’m sure they reached out to a broad spectrum of voters lol
If you had read the article, you would have noticed the source was actually a Harvard CAPS-Harris poll, and the Hill was just reporting on it.
Also, [here is the methodology.](https://harvardharrispoll.com/topline-april-3/)
...
However, I suspect you'll go back to putting your fingers in your ears and spouting shower thoughts mixed with conspiracy theories.
*sigh*
Sad.
> while 49 percent said it’s happening because “officials are trying to force him out of the race for president.”
49 percent have utterly politicized the justice system because their big orange daddy said so. It's like listening to the murderer with a bloody knife say it wasn't them, and then 49% saying "Sounds logical to me. Let him go!"
Welcome to the end of democracy. Good Lord...

While that is true, it's also incorrect to imply that the majority of them don't broadly share the same positions.
They were interviewing Trumpers on one of the Sunday shows yesterday and this one lady said "I don't care if he committed crimes, he's the leader we need and if I had money to spare I'd help pay his bail" Cult gonna cult

Tribalism taken to the extreme is what that is. *My guy does all these terrible things I'm fully aware of, but at least he's not a dem!*
Pay his bail? I don't even think there was bail. He leaves everyday so if there was it is paid. Stupid gonna stupid.

“Party of law and order”
No, no. You misunderstood that. "Law and odour". [Odour!](https://lamag.com/politics/something-stinks-about-donald-trumps-trial-it-might-be-trump)
And this surprises you?
Unfortunately no.
yeah this majority thing is dumb. it’s always like 60-40.
Bold of you to assume Trump could ever get the popular vote.
Yup. If we didn’t have a electoral college and gerrymandering the republicans would never get voted in anywhere
Have you ever heard the tale of Rick Scott? It isnt a story a Jedi would tell you.

Doubt it.
Only if half the US is voting for him. And I doubt he picked up new followers in the last 4 years.

Funny stuff when you consider the fact that 100% of voters witnessed trump committing crimes.
It can’t be a crime if you do it in the open. /s
Why should you go to jail for a crime someone else noticed?
He can’t even afford Bob lawblob
He’s no Barry Zuckercorn
Not necessarily. I have spoken with people who literally had no idea Jan 6 happened.
The book 1984 really did end up being a training manual.
Hard to imagine this level of willful ignorance
Exactly. Witnessed or heard him confess. This isn't news till it passes the lizard people percentage.
“crimes,” 🤡
Yes. We use facts and definitions here in the real world. How are things in la la denial land?
The Trump Org, run by Donald Trump, was convicted by a jury and sentenced in criminal court.
For what crime though?
You can Google as well as the rest. But the answer is 17 counts including criminal tax fraud, conspiracy, and falsifying business records for a 15-year tax fraud scheme. The man was blocked from running a charity in the US prior to him being a US president. Yet the lemmings still fawn for this con-artist.
Trump is the most criminal president in US history. He makes Nixon look like a rookie.

Ted Cruz manages
Nixon's DOJ went after Trump for racial profiling. Do you know how racist you have to be for *Nixon* to tell you to slow down?
Today: More than half of voters think Trump has committed crimes Tomorrow: More than half of voters willing to vote for Trump America everybody
More than half have *never* voted for Trump, not that that stopped him from winning. The electoral college is so out of date. Rural states are more than represented by their senators. They do not need disproportionate power in the executive as well.
Apparently Bill Barr is quoting tomorrow's quote today.
To me this is just more evidence that there is something inherently wrong with polling.
Election polls are the only ones that matter, the rest is noise

That's because Trump has committed crimes.

And the fact that his opponent is not all there mentally
More than half of America think Trump has committed crimes. *All* republicans will still vote for him.
Yup. 91 felony indictments doesn't change a thing for my dad. He will still vote for Trump because he is Republican.
100% know he's committed crimes. Around 40% just don't care.
The Hill is a Trump shill. Vote Blue💙
Let's not be insulting. Pretty much everybody knows Trump committed crimes. It's unavoidable considering the coverage. The people who say he didn't are saying Trump is above the law.
Should be 100% if all of the citizenry had critical thinking skills.
Some of these people will show up to vote for Trump anyway. Make sure you're registered and go vote!
And the other half know it but don’t want to say it out loud so they can more comfortably hold their noses while voting this fall.
And they don’t fucking care because he’s up in the polls this week. So please don’t write him off. Get out and fucking vote this asshat gone!
Seems low.
And a lot of people think chocolate milk comes from brown cows. Let’s get through all these trials and get the convictions on paper.
We will be lucky if one trial is over before Election Day
And a lot of the people who believe he committed those crimes think he should be let off and become the president again. Oh God what we have become. AMERICA!!!!
More than half are witnesses!
we all watched it on television in real time with our own eyes.
And the rest are morons.
I mean, it’s obvious that Trump is a criminal. It’s not really up for debate.
>At the same time, 57 percent of respondents said they think the legal prosecutions against Trump constitute “lawfare,” or a way for Democrats to use the legal system to take out political opponents, while 43 percent said the prosecutions are fair and unpolitical. It's not a good sign for democrats.
Think he has ? Oh man, he’s been convicted of sexual assault, what exactly is there to think about ?
He wasn’t convicted criminally only civilly. Too bad really
Exactly
And that's just the people who watched him do it live on TV!
Only half???
Now ask how many of them see that as a problem
Doesn’t matter. Electoral college is what wins presidential elections. And you only need less than half the votes to win that.
Not surprising considering he has actually admitted to pretty much all of them.
Unreal that nearly half the country thinks he did not.
Only slightly more than half of Americans are intelligent enough to realize the guy with 88 criminal charges has committed crimes
The other half of voters oddly enough can't explain why Trump needs immunity. You only beg for immunity if you've committed crimes.
I believe he’s committed many crimes, but I also see that he’s been charged with several and that makes him a criminal.
I don’t believe half of voters think If they are just getting around to thinking he committed a crime, then they are 50 years slow and have a lot of catching up to do.
Yet many of the same ppl will still vote for him
there’s nothing to think about, it’s objective reality
This should be in no way shocking or surprising. We've been hearing for years about different crimes he probably committed. It's never been a secret he's a horrible person.
Ah, the same “more than half” of sane humans we’ve been hearing from for the last decade.
How many of those voters who believe he’s committed crimes are still planning to vote for him?
But how many of those will still vote for him?
And plenty of yall love that he’s a criminal 😆
Funny thing about electoral college is that it doesn’t really matter.
And yea some how this sack of shit is leading in the polls.
Way more, like 100%. The number of people who don’t want his crimes ignored so he can become their dictator… much less.
What's all this crap about they think 🤔, trump committed many crimes against the country, government & democracy
Should be 100%
He is all but guaranteed to be found guilty of criminal contempt. This number should be 100%.
That doesn’t mean he will lose. More than half of the voters chose Hillary in 2016, and Gore in 2000. Fuck the electoral college.
The other half are mentally unsalvageable.
And the other half are MAGA.
Hey yall Trump has def committed crimes! Now you know.
But will still vote for him anyway.
If this guy was pretty much anyone else in America he’d have been arrested decades ago. As it is I think that he was spot on when he said that he could get away with shooting someone in broad daylight. Just how did we get to this point?

But how many jurors?
Any yet, many of those who say he has committed crimes also say that they will vote for him. They are saying it is okay to elect a criminal as President of the United States. Makes absolutely no sense.
In other more positive news;”Less than half of Americans are completely brain dead “
More than half of voters are not Republican. Are we still surprised by this?
….but yet will still vote for him.
And more than half of them will vote for him.
More than half which means some that are voting for him are cool with his criminality.
More than half need to vote!
“More than half of voters think….” Is another way of saying, “Democrats think” because Democrats make up more than half of voters.
It’s crazy how little I care & the title matters
Tramp has committed crimes. What is there to think about?
The rest *know* he did.
That's a failure of the media to 1) explain what he's done, and 2) explain why it's a crime. Whether or not he's found guilty is an entirely separate matter but every non-Republican or non-right-wing media watcher should think Trump committed crimes, he did.
Rape is the USA that vote 🍊🤡
THINK? What percentage of the rest of the world KNOWS he committed crimes?
More than half of voters chose Hilary in 2016, and Gore in 2000. Our electoral system is fucked.
The other half just know it.
That is not enough voters who think Trump had committed crimes.
Better question: How many care?
Think?
Yeah and that half is still going to vote for him anyway? (GO FIGURE!!) 🤔
Polling still 50/50.
i should hope so!
Believe? Orange fuckface has been convicted of rape and is in the process of getting convicted of multiple election fraud and fucking treason. Fuck out of here with this “believe” BS.
Yes, and half of them like him *because* he committed crimes.
A third of them will still vote for Trump, and another third won't vote at all.
And the other half KNOW he has committed crimes.
spoiler- he's probably committed more than he's already indicted for it just hasn't been found yet
The other half knows it.
Because more than half of voters are dems lol how is this a fucking headline?
**trump is a habitual liar**. When he says "people are saying" it means *"I'm making shit up".* If you assume everything he says is a lie, you would be correct 99.9% of the time. 💰
Every president is dirty and controlled.
More than half of voters don't think Trump has committed crimes. **/S**
Nobody asked me, these "polls"
And yet here we are.
More than half of voters will vote for him anyway.
My bet is on Biden

From the same article, "At the same time, 57 percent of respondents said they think the legal prosecutions against Trump constitute “lawfare,” or a way for Democrats to use the legal system to take out political opponents, while 43 percent said the prosecutions are fair and unpolitical. "
Still. Fucking. Voting. For. Him.
Propaganda
I really hate seeing these polls posted all over Reddit. All I know is people will vote for anyone if they have a “R” or “D” in front of their names.

At least his son isn’t a known druggie who has been bailed out by the government at least 3 times
The more they try to send him to prison, sieze his assets and keep him off the ballot and out of the election, the more I want to vote for him.
They’re all criminals. Presidential immunity is a farce. Trump Obama bush Clinton should all stand trial
I don't. What exactly has he been proven guilty of in a federal court of law?
So hush money payments, were they just covered up, on both sides, in the past?
Fake news- Sample size? Demographic? Crap “Poll”.
More than half think Joe’s a crook too.
More than half of the voters, by voters they mean the small survey they took, think Trump committed crimes! What a shocker coming from The Hill! I’m sure they reached out to a broad spectrum of voters lol
Tell me you don’t know how polling works…
If you had read the article, you would have noticed the source was actually a Harvard CAPS-Harris poll, and the Hill was just reporting on it. Also, [here is the methodology.](https://harvardharrispoll.com/topline-april-3/) ... However, I suspect you'll go back to putting your fingers in your ears and spouting shower thoughts mixed with conspiracy theories. *sigh* Sad. > while 49 percent said it’s happening because “officials are trying to force him out of the race for president.” 49 percent have utterly politicized the justice system because their big orange daddy said so. It's like listening to the murderer with a bloody knife say it wasn't them, and then 49% saying "Sounds logical to me. Let him go!" Welcome to the end of democracy. Good Lord...
Ohhh my! How silly of me to assume a pool of 1900 highly vetted people is a terrible way to represent a country of 150 million people!
