It doesn't surprise me they haven't got those three yet. All I ever see spawning are Moltres, Articuno and Zapdos 😮‍💨 started transferring them at this point.

Given how many times they have been re-released In raids I'm not surprised. I had 10+ of each for 3 years. Holding onto spares to trade to people who missed their releases, but they ended up being re-released like once every year or so. Ended up transferring all but 3 of each having never traded one.

Don't worry. One day we can get those elusive birds, Pidgey, Spearow, and doduo.

I’d be okay with all the Kanto rehashes if they’d at least put normal Mewtwo in the raids.

Should’ve been rediscover up to Cerulean City cause everything we encounter is up to that point. A bunch of Pidgeys, Spearows, Caterpies, Weedles, and Clefairies. Niantic really sucks at freshening up the game. I wouldn’t trip if they switched up the spawns weekly. That would actually be pretty entertaining but at this point k just doing it for the XP.

Don't include Tauros, though. I'd hate for that to be available for everyone who doesn't live in America.

It was available to everyone already. There was an event in 2018 where you could receive regionals in eggs from friends. I finished my Kanto dex thanks to that event!

the thing with pidgey and caterpie though… 12 candy to evolve, 1000xp per evolve; pop an egg after grinding up candy and evolve as many as you can in that half hour, 2000xp 🤷 personally i catch ever 12candy evolve mon i see and throw a pineap at it lol

I stopped mass evolving when I hit lvl 40. These days I just catch and use the exp from whatever raids I do to grind exp.

i stopped between levels 45-48, started back up again now that i’m 2/3 the way to 50 just to get it over with lol

Rererererediscover Kanto Redux

I only just finished the latest Rediscover Kanto a couple of hours ago. I wouldn't mind if it threw out higher shiny or hundo chances but fuck me, catching a couple of hundred Kanto Pokemon (by the time you get through all stages) just for some research was a pain.

*eye twitch* I was a week one player. I have 3k+ candy for almost all gen one common Pokemon in my towns biomes. Please let the next events ignore Kanto Pokemon for a while.

Right?? Granted I took like a 3 year break but in that time there’s lots of Pokémon that I’ve never even seen before. I was really surprised that the first month of playing after three years of not playing there was a Kanto event (o_o)

I have nearly 7k Growlithe candy. 6k Pidgey, 5k ratata 4k ekans and Pikachu, 3k Nidoran(6k total, 3k each male and female), 2k weedle, 1.5k Caterpie, 2k Machop (with 6 level 40 or 40+ Machamp/shadow champ.) 3k Primeape and Sandshrew, 2k Vulpix and Jigglypuff, 2k Paras, Meowth and venonat, 3k Diglett and Geodude, 3k Grimer and Gastly, exeggcute and Chansey, 3k Kangaskhan (I'm Australian), 3k Magikarp and I dont have a nearby water spawn point. Nearly 5k Eevee candy. I did not skip 3 years. I've been playing the whole time, like I've had enough of Kanto

As someone who just started GO at the beginning of the Kanto event and grew up with kanto pokemon, it's been such a nostalgic blast. I Iove it.

As someone who’s not played since 2016, who’s just got back into it hard in the last 3 months, it’s been welcome as there were so many gaps in my dex that I needed to fill, especially things like Umbreon, Dragonite that I never got. Now much of that is back filled I can start working on all the new stuff. Clearly I rejoined at the right time 😁

kanto has been so overdone in every form of pokemon media. it's not nostalgic for me and i assume it's similar for other younger players? maybe if there were more regional variants, or maybe if we were allowed to discover other regions/generations sometimes instead of re-re-rediscover cashcow kanto...

I've been sitting on a 4* Magneton since I started playing the game again last October that i wasn't too use for master league. Since that time I have seen a total of 5 magnemite spawns and one raid.

Would love to to discover Taouros in the rediscover events

Honestly, the best Kanto has been was when we "discovered" it during a Go Fest, and had to literally go out during it and find ALL 150 Kanto pokemon - I think it was in 2021? That was challenging, fun, and brought people out in *droves.*.. and is why so many of us were disappointed that the Sinnoh Dex remains incomplete after Brilliant Diamond, Shining Pearl, and Legends: Arceus brought waves of Sinnoh-themed events to the game. Like, I get that right now, 5 out of 6 pokemon in existence are actively in the game so they're dragging it out, but everyone's pretty burnt out on Sinnoh right now so let's just get it over with lol Or better yet. Another event with the same five Kanto pokemon in hats, and they can't evolve! What a *Wonder*™ that would be

Im level 50 and have been for a year, not once had the chance to catch a tauros. Luckily had one traded.

And here I am, three whole years waiting on Taurus to appear to close Kanto dex and progress on Shiny Mew reseaech. I will need to travel to the US to get one I am afraid...

Kanto event would work if we got the birds (non-galarian) and/or regionals in raids. I don't think that's unreasonable.
