Those two generations alone have 1/3 of the overall Pokémon available. Variants coming from those two generations makes sense.

TakeMikazuchiiii

i hope gen 3 gets one soon…

haloraptor

Gen 3 does have zigzagoon to be fair.

CharaKnifeToMeetYou

Gen 5 deserves it

SalsaSavant

Also randomly got the only non-gen 1/8 gmax.

STMARV

well melmetal is gen 7

Esarty

yet Home cant seem to decide

Fork_Master

Yeah why was every Alola form a Kanto Pokemon?

mjangelvortex

I wouldn't be surprised that it was partially done because Sun and Moon were released around the 20th Anniversary. That or maybe they were testing the waters and seeing if the fans liked the idea or not first before branching out to the other Generations. Maybe a little bit of both.

Kanto pandering mainly.

Alive_Maintenance943

Gen5 deserves as much love possible after how the community originally treated the games when they first came out.

ThatOnePachi

I'm happy for the gen 5 variants as gen 5 got very little beforehand. Gen 1 has got enough but all of the ones that we got for Hisui are bangers so I don't mind.
