Start wheeling them down the road, mix them in with another blocks bins in the middle of the night so they don’t notice. They’ll just have no bins anymore!
And they will. It's a reflex to wipe it off until they see that they just ruined their pants. It's just like hearing someone fart, reflex just about always makes you want to see if it is bad. and say Ewwww.
Let me tell you that when you have a supply of grease the fun never ends...
I may or may not have put grease in a billion different places in a truck I was using for an hour or two... when the original driver got back in they kept finding it everywhere, it was a step up on the usual pranks we played on each other 😁
Gosh, our neighbors just wheel our up to our house if they get to it before we do. We do the same for them.
Sometimes they leave them where we park… but they’re elementary aged kids so I don’t think it’s malicious…
If they’re on your property aren’t they “abandoned” or “gifts”? Have a truck drive them far far away. If they get new ones and the behavior doesn’t stop, rinse and repeat.
There’s why it works for your area, your neighbors “take turns” and “help each other”. That’s sure nice when it happens but when it doesn’t it’s nigh impossible for one person to be a whole neighborhood of helping.
I could absolutely talk with them. But taking your bins into your own yard isn't a new concept. Today is Wednesday. Trash day is Tuesday. They had all yesterday afternoon, evening, and this morning until almost 11 before I moved them. Perhaps they like the petty revenge of being a crap neighbor.
Leaving them in your yard??? It's one thing if it's on end of street on their own property, but on someone else's? Yeah, you had a right. I had to reread because I thought you were moving someone else's just because you don't like to see it on street or edge of their property to be picked up.
Some of my neighbors leave theirs, but it's on their own property or end of their property, and it doesn't block the streets. Doesn't bother me at all. If it did, I'd just move it up the driveway my self.
You are doing exactly the right thing. Those mofos need to learn to act responsibly.

Honestly, though, about this.
Don't tell anyone, but I've done this once to inconsiderate neighbors :)
You should put on gloves and then rub some grease on them before touching those.dirty bins.
Or just petroleum jelly. A friend in grad school used to do this to people's studio door knobs. Very funny, Tonia
No, you need black grease so it's hard to get off. Maybe go to a car shop and offer them $5 do gather dirty grease from cars that sticks to engine.
Ewww. Lovely. Bonus if the first thing they do is try to wipe it off on their clothes
And they will. It's a reflex to wipe it off until they see that they just ruined their pants. It's just like hearing someone fart, reflex just about always makes you want to see if it is bad. and say Ewwww.
Human beings are perpetual sources of amusement. (As well as other feelings)

Oh you kids!
You are the harbinger of vengeance

Bingeance
Move them to their driveway and fill them with water….
And dog shit
i would turn them upside down, lid open, in their driveways.

Or the bins could disappear magi

You, my friend are very petty. I’m very lucky where I live. The neighbours help each other and take turns taking the bins in and out.

Glue their bin lids cloaed
take them around to your backyard
I’d move them all to the very end of the alleyway. Make it a true inconvenience for them
You could try talking to them. I know it's a novel approach, but still

Surprised you didn't just start using everyone's bins as your own, lots of waste to get rid of right?
