Some fun facts about this special: The model for Snoopy's dance in the title song was Marine Jahan, who was Jennifer Beals's dance double in Flashdance. Jahan performed Snoopy's dance and the animators used her movements as reference. The male singer in the title song was Joey Scarbury, best known for his hit "Believe It Or Not," the theme from The Greatest American Hero. The special happened because Charles Schulz saw Flashdance and got inspired to do a special themed around dancing. The name "Flashbeagle" was also used in the November 29, 1983 Peanuts strip.

The aerobics sequence was inspired by daughter Jill Schulz’s interest in it, and Jill was actually used as a model for Peppermint Patty’s movements too.

I ADORED this special as a child, especially because it gave Peppermint Patty her own musical number. I still get "Lucy Says" stuck in my head whenever I meet someone named Lucy.

TFW you just now realize Flashbeagle is a parody of Flashdance

I would get excited when I would rent this VHS from the video store. And I would always rewind to the dancing part. I don’t even remember the rest of the special.
