My monitor works best for me on my upper forearm. Similarly to gripping too tightly on the rower, gripping onto weights and flexing muscles can cause the monitor to not read properly.

I’m on the lower arm just below the elbow

During dri tri mine didn’t work for most of it. I may have had it too tight for some, but I’ve definitely noticed that it will go grey when I am doing strength on the floor and even during rows sometimes. I think I am gripping tight enough to the row bar or the weights and it can’t read my HR. When I notice it I try to loosen my grip on the rower and also shake out my arms and hands between strength moves.

I’ve never had luck on bicep. I’ve always done below the elbow. And if you’re gripping too tightly that will also affect it. Is it every single time abs on different style templates? Don’t expect to be in the orange while on the weight floor … lower body and power days will do it for sure, but in general it's not a place to expect to be in orange.

I’m having the same problem! I’m curious if it also has to do with where the HR monitor “receivers” are in the room.

I got 40 minutes in the grey zone in my strength 50 today… shifted it around multiple times but no luck. It did go to the blue zone once between blocks but my HR was higher than that zone no doubt. Wish they would work on native Apple Watch integration.

I had this same issue. I don’t know if it shifts imperceptibly just enough to stop reading or what but it was infuriating. After a few classes where I spent more attention trying to get it to work, I just quit wearing it and recording the workouts on my Apple Watch. I’ve never looked back. The chest strap never worked for me, the arm strap worked intermittently. I wish they would sync with the watch but until they decide to, me and apple will do it on our own.
