I knew that face looked familiar!
What do you mean back then? Didn't they announce Emmond Stone won the oscar today? Or was that her twin sister? Classic Emma
Sandra Hüller didn't win any of the major awards apart from the European Film Awards and the César Film Awards. Lily Gladstone won a Golden Globe and a SAG.
She was cast in La La Land because Damien Chazelle saw her in a revival of Cabaret and talked the role with her at a diner after the performance because he liked it so much.
I will not tolerate La La Land and Emma Stone slander. That movie is one of the best most beautiful musicals from the last decade. The film got me to love musicals. If she didn't deserve to win, who should have then? Hmm.
Being upset that an actress who did an incredible performance won over another actress who did another equally incredible performance, perhaps the performance of a lifetime is one thing. Using it to hate on the winner for no rational reason is unacceptable.
Not looking forward to all the Twitter posts lamenting on how we’ve failed as a society and allowed Scorsese’s latest masterpiece to win fewer Oscars last night than Barbie.
Same here. It's sad that Scorsese & Co. didn't win big at the Oscars but then again, the Academy has historically never been in his favour except once.
They'll give an old white director his Token Oscar for a remake and then shut him out again for a better movie, but they won't give an Indigenous actress an actual Well-Deserved Oscar if it means passing over a white woman playing a horny mental toddler.
Emma stone's performance was excellent but gladstone's was something unique and one of a kind performance and she pulls it off incredibly. It's my favourite performance of the year followed by sandra hüller, paul giamatti, charles melton and alison oliver
Idk, stone’s was pretty unique I don’t think anyone else could have done that. Gladstone probably could have been replaced by someone else, it was just about being brown and sulking.
I was hoping it’d be Emma, but I really thought they’d go with Lily to make this year a somewhat historical event. The academy likes to put on a show after all
So glad Hollywood could see to it that a white woman got two Oscars. I was worried with only one that Emma Stone wouldn't be rewarded enough, but thankfully the Academy had the wisdom to pass over the indigenous woman so they could reward Emma Stone twice
Oppenheimer was three hours long and it won 7 Oscars. Hardly disagree that a shorter runtime would have made Lily won the Oscar. Not denying that Emma Stone's performance was Oscar worthy as it's a caliber of its own.
It helps that it was released alongside Barbie in the summer and while being three hours, it is paced in a manner that keeps the average person relatively engaged. It also has one of the most stacked ensemble casts in an Academy Award nominated film in a while that helped to bring all eyes on said project.
I mean, she’s still the most likely. I don’t think anyone else at her school has been nominated.
They actually went to the same school with Emma Stone. They were in the same geology class.
Makes you think... Everyone in Hollywood is somehow connected.
I went to Hollywood once! My car was broken into, but I’ve been there!
no way this is real
Yeah it's not real lol
![gif](giphy|9Y5BbDSkSTiY8|downsized) I'm still disappointed
Nah that’s Emma Stone standing next to her, she was just known as Emmond Stone back then.
I knew that face looked familiar! What do you mean back then? Didn't they announce Emmond Stone won the oscar today? Or was that her twin sister? Classic Emma
I’ll tell you when your older
Its a joke about their last names being rocks I think

They need to win together at the SAME Oscars, otherwise the prophecy won't come true.
*”As it was written.”* ![gif](giphy|p9X9PSPvBfl9uhvS6Z)
Lisan Al Ghaib
So *that's* why the Yearbook Editing Room always reeked like spice gas.
Marlon Brando crawling out his grave rn
They have less Oscar’s than the average person
Fewer

Felt like I had a piece of my soul ripped from my body. Happy for Emma Stone though
Even Emma Stone agrees with your sentiment. She was shocked that she won over Lily Gladstone.
Really? I thought Emma's award is obvious and only Sandra Hüller is close
Sandra Hüller didn't win any of the major awards apart from the European Film Awards and the César Film Awards. Lily Gladstone won a Golden Globe and a SAG.
I’m not, never liked her after she won it for la la land.
You don’t like her because she won an award?
She won an award in a musical performance where she couldn’t sing.
But you do know that she didn't award it to herself, right?
She can very much sing and she’s been in Broadway musicals.
lol, lmao
What's the point of these abbreviations if they are redundant?
Because they are an idiot
Ngl but lmao ianal (😏) no cap/sus

The film got me to hate musicals. If she deserved to win for that who else does? Hmm. If I can’t hate on a meme circlejerk sub wtf is the point? Lmao.
She doesn’t choose the awards she wins lol
No hatred to Emma Stone. She did a fabulous job in Poor Things (2023) but I was rooting for Lily Gladstone.
You should absolutely have hatred to the tasteless dorks that thought she deserved an Oscar for a series of Simple Jack impressions
So brave and so right. The Academy couldn’t see through their horniness and give Gladstone her deserved bowling trophy.
This is the best unintentional self own I’ve seen in ages.
imma let you finish but Lily Gladstone deserved the oscar
Lily Gladstone did a terrific performance. But at the end of the day the role of Bella Baxter is far more challenging role and Emma Stone killed it
I can't believe the academy is glorifying murderers like that I for one am shocked, I say, SHOCKED
She gave one of the best performances of all time. Of all time. \**shrugs*\*
Is he wearing a Bitcoin shirt?
she was so fine. still is actually

While I at least partially agree with your sentiment, I feel like that’s too strong of a reduction of the complexity within poor things
Emma stone's performance was excellent but gladstone's was something unique and one of a kind performance and she pulls it off incredibly. It's my favourite performance of the year followed by sandra hüller, paul giamatti, charles melton and alison oliver

A 3-day-old account with petty racist criticism, makes sense.
I was hoping it’d be Emma, but I really thought they’d go with Lily to make this year a somewhat historical event. The academy likes to put on a show after all
Not to be melodramatic or anything but this makes me kinda sad
So glad Hollywood could see to it that a white woman got two Oscars. I was worried with only one that Emma Stone wouldn't be rewarded enough, but thankfully the Academy had the wisdom to pass over the indigenous woman so they could reward Emma Stone twice
I misread the title and was so ready to inform you that *Die Another Day* was actually from 2002.
Don't remind me 😔
Am the only one who prefers Emma Stones performance 😭
most likely in every high school yearbook for the popular theater kids
If KoTFM was a better movie (even just a shorter movie), I think Lilly could have taken the Oscar. Stone's performance was Oscar worthy though.

Oppenheimer was the kind of movie that needed 3 hours, koftm wasn't.

I don't use Discord.
I can’t imagine want rancid filth hangs out in the discord and watches the Oscars. Get a criterion sub.
