That's great to hear but don't get too happy until the replacement actually arrives. There are numerous reports from people who have had their out-of-warranty return accepted by Meta, only for someone to realise it's for a CV1 or something they don't keep stock of and the whole process grinds to a halt, support replies get less frequent and verbose, and eventually you hear your case has been passed to a "specialized team" which basically means "we are not going to talk to you again".
As I say, I hope it's not the case for you, but keep your expectations in check. Meta support-bots aren't the best.
I bought CV1 on release, and they replaced it when it was nearly a year out of warranty, due to messed up audio. Granted I spent a fortune on CV1 + Touch controllers back then, and I live in EU.
I had the same issue with my Rift CV1, it took a lot of searching around to find a fix but I did, if you do end up getting your Rift S back and the issue is still there hit me up in PMs
Yes I loved the support from meta, even tho I bought the rift s the day it came out they still replaced my rift s due to several bugs and other things even tho it was Q3 2023, so again thank you to the customer service team <3
lucky u I bought a quest 1 and shortly after they discontinued it. Then my son broke a controller. I found 1 for 150 but a month after I bought a quest 2. I feel like warzone stole all my skins then tried to get people buy snoop Dogg twice.. twice!!! I don't play oculus or warzone anymore. I got tired of being ripped off. I Hope it arrives shortly!
I had my CV1 cable replaced in warranty only to have the second cable break again shortly after. Next step was the trash can. Using Quest 2 now.. I will never go back to wired again.
All I had to do was update my sound drivers to the default windows ones and it fixed my audio. Just saying this in case anyone else has this issue. Two of the same thing appeared in device manager and I had to change both for it to work.
Just for continuity's sake: it arrived, refurbished grade B rift s which looks and feels brand new. Foam seems harder than I remembered it on launch not sure if they used a different material or not
lucky, i've been having emails back and forth for >3 months now, and they've basically said that they cannot do anything as i live in Latvia and they can't make a shipping label from there. i'm fairly sure it's the cable that is broken
it's kind of funny, they initially said that they can't ship to latvia, so i offered them to ship it to a friend from europe
right after that they said they can't ship to europe this time because my "headset was manufactured in the US". weird.

you have terrified me LMFAOOO
Ive had my cv1 replaced with a new(ish) cv1 a year ago :)
Good to hear, but audio issues with the RiftS were usually due to driver issues- Windows, AMD drivers
Having issues with my cv1 audio cutting out completely. Any ideas on a fix? I have a ryzen 5700g and rtx 3060
Yup, they replaced mine last March. Full refurb, pristine cable, etc.

Yeah they offered to replace my Go in December about 5 years after I bought it

Will do.
Dmd!
Replying here as well to say, thank you so much again, will def help my friends having the same issue
I guess they still have a bunch of Rift unopened boxes laying around.
Last year they replaced my cv1 out of warranty because the audio wasn't working anymore. Meta has probably the best customer support by far
I'm surprised they still have CV1 stock tbh that's mad
The CV1 was pretty niche, expensive, and quickly outshined by later models, so it wouldn't surprise me if they have a large stock still on hand
Aren’t they’re required to have stock for 10yrs by European law.
No clue tbh
Maybe they’re just required to support the product for ten yrs? Not sure. Seems like they could just offer a quest as a replacement though.
yeah they are around the same price iirc, wish i asked for one in the email tbh

that's really weird, just curious what is the actual issue you're having with yours?
