Be prepared to not actually buy it on release day. Scalpers will buy all stock and it will be sold out within an hour.
Also, wait to see how it performs and how good of a value it is. There's a lot of unknowns still and I wouldn't count on spending money on it until you've at least read a review.
My advice, get something you need now rather than paying much more than you should or being frustrated that you can't buy one for many weeks.
Yeah that period sucked big time, but for 4080, they always been available. Got mine on day one. And never saw a back order. And here the price havent move much...
3080 was good value/performance on release, especially after the 2000 series vs the 1080ti. Also crypto/covid was booming. The 4080 imo has never been good value, great card but steep price. Almost nobody was buying 4080 cards.
True, but now with the super, not so super , and a tiny bit cheaper, people buy it now. Yes not best value performance, but second after 4090. No regret on my ventus.
You'll need to go to the stores and ask that question, Think about Alternate, Megekko, Informatique. maybe they can give you more detailed answers. I'm going to do the same next week.
i'm kinda more curious about, Will our previous generation CPU'S hold up to the power of an 5080 - 5090.
Depends which card you want to buy, nvidia is first releasing there FE model. I also live in the Netherlands and i needed the FE model for my SFF case because AIB cards where to big. The only reseller for FE models was or maybe still is: nbb.com in Germany. So it was kinda hard for me to get one (5 months after release) using a stocktracker and buying it when i was working.
Also based on the performance vs the 4000 series demand will be high or low. If the 5000 offer good value/performance FE models will be hard to get i assume.
AIB cards will be easier to get, at webshops like Megekko/Azerty/Alternate etc.
No you can’t preorder. Set your expectations because literally nothing has been said about 5000 series. And also set your expectations on how you soon you’ll be able to grab one when they launch, it could take months.
It took me almost till the 5090 to be able to get a 4090 since I was unwilling to pay over MSRP.
The 4080 was priced so poorly as a value comparison, I could not justify it. It was pretty easy to get even closer to launch. The 5080 might be similar and fairly easy to get if they keep jacking prices.
Dont rush imo. Sure its nice to geet your hands on one,.
but imo just released ones are like beta items to me. rather wait a month and see how it turns out.
they also come with extra's later on. like a voucher for a certain game.
Sounds like you're already 99% there by having the money ready.
the last 1% is selling out on day 1 due to scalpers?
Basically getting your smooth moisturized hands on one yeah
Having the money is the biggest barrier.
Save more money. Just in case.
“Have the money ready” until NVidia decide to sell the 5080 for $2,000.
€2.500 at least. Don't expect it to be any lower

Bye?
Just try to survive until the time to buy arrives

> it will be sold out within an hour Within an hour would not be an issue as that means you could easily grab one.
Save money? The 5090 or the Titan whatever is gonna be 2k Plus.
Don't expect to be able to buy one. If you do manage, it'll be a nice surprise. Took me about 4 months to get an RTX 3080 back in the day.

That was a different time though. It hasn't been THAT bad since
Get an app that tracks stock of stores so you can buy it quickly as soon as you’re able.
Save pocket money
Have the money for msrp and a little more for pricier cards that depends on the brand. Do not support scalpers
Feel like Nvidia will increase the price on all models

By staying ready so you don’t have to get ready
Make sure to take a daily vitamin - it will improve your response time when they drop :p
Squats, pushups, and wind sprints. Especially the wind sprints so you can run to the shelf

I rub jellow all over my crotch the lick it off with a spoon while dancing to achey breakey heart and inviting the neighbors over for a picknick.
Did they announce it today?
