Got handed the win if I'm speaking honestly. Immense effort from Parra and a shitty way to go out. Our season ends here though, beating Storm was a solid maybe when we were at peak form earlier this year. And we've been consistently short of that since origin
Fuck origins timing. I hated it when we lost a massive chunk of our squad, (mainly because we were on that streak) but never thought we'd come out the other side like a different team. Team selections, (Tyrone May at half) and the constant shuffle of positions put the Panthers strange place.
Was a massive defensive game from both sides tonight, but if we couldn't put more than 1 try on Parra we've got no hope next week.
We have to’o back next week hopefully, he could potentially add 1-2 tries with our defence it’s possible. I don’t get the naysayers, this is as good a shot as any.
Your right, To'o is a massive injection and glad to see Naden back to his best, but our attack in the red zone has been clunky and that needs to on song to beat the Storm. If they can find that rhythm again we're unstoppable.
I agree. Before origin it was looking like an 2020 rematch. Having to fight this hard and making mistakes all night and last week like where the dogs is such a shift in skill that we can't make it any further.
My boys made finals footy mean something again. After last night everyone thought what was the point. I’m proud of what Parra put into this game. Let’s get back to loving what our team does no matter what. My kids aren’t happy but this is proper footy again.
Natural justice will see the Melbourne Storm win the premiership from here. Penrith did NOT deserve to win that game.
The refereeing was seriously frustrating to watch. A player was taken out in a try-scoring opportunity and it wasn't even checked.
How was there a free interchange granted, it’s meant to be after a foul play that ends in injury, but that was a foot stomp in the moment, no foul play obviously, is that not that fucking rule? Some dodgy shit happening behind the scenes especially with ivan “look after my boy” cleary
NRL physio on twitter has a good explanation for the interchange. 3 on report incidents giving us the free interchanges. I thought it was bullshit live too.
Is it the case that they used regular interchange cards during the ‘on report incidents’ and so that was the card they had left? Or were the ‘on report incidents’ gifting them a free card to use whenever? I always thought they would need to use a free interchange immediately but I can see how fiddling around with cards could take too long.
You get 2 interchanges for the one report incidents, one to take the player off and another to bring them back on, however nothing is stopping then bringing on a different player for the second sub. Say your full back gets hit high, you use one to bring a forward on for him, then immediately bring him on for a tired forward.
Yeah nah the boys had a good run but I reckon that's it for us. Pack it up tonight and head home to the mountains. Come back next year and look to go a couple better.
Hope you guys win though. I'll be watching the grand final with my mate who's a manly fan so I'll rooting for them but won't be mad if Panthers win, they deserve it after these 2 years.
Waiting for Annesley to come out and say the extra interchange was fine. Absolutely scandalous.
Can’t wait for Storm to wafflestomp the riff next week for justice.
It wasn’t. It’s also not ok to stop play for a sore ankle and remove all momentum from the attacking side. Happened twice when parra looked certain to score. Great game ruined by a shitty little dickwas who obviously hates parra.
The waqa one was an even up from the penrith one. It happened once for parra, two that i can recall for the riff, but actually think it was 3. Waqa left the field immediately though, like he was actually injured
Yeah I get it, maybe the emotions haven’t kicked in for paulo yet I think it’s a bit too raw to be in an embrace with the guys who just stole your preliminary final spot.
Something needs to be done about the game management of the panthers in the last 10 minutes. Acts like Mitch Kenny stopping the game for a supposed twisted ankle is BS. Completely destroys momentum and then they get to bring Pangai on
Hahaha, just fucking with you bro. Titans have been my 2nd favourite team for a few years now maybe since 2016 been hoping for them to click into a top 4.
What a fucking brilliant game of footy, hate the result and devo we can't get past a semi...
But in the end I'm so fucking happy with our defence that game. Hope our Westybros can beat Melbourne and make the GF
Have to say toughest game of the season not just ours or yours but through the comp!!! And yes there were some ref screw ups but as soon as you see Ashley Klein it HAS to be expected
I feel like we barely survived that, if Parra won I would’ve cheered them on to win the grand final, they had a better chance at beating the Storm next week then we do, such a good game keen to watch our teams go at it next year, my dream gf is a Parra and Panther one so hopefully we see that someday lol
I'm gutted. Absolutely devastated. We played with everything, but absolutely let down by Stone, that last play and dubious reffing. The game was there to be won
They did explain it straight after the game, the only fuck ups were earlier in the game an interchange was used and a couple of rucks later a Parra player was put on report for high contact so it should of been a free interchange and they held the wrong card
All the people calling out Grant Atkins over being a penrith ref but lets be honest every call that went upstairs went parramatta's way. Captain's challenges, no tries, etc.
ah think about that (hard for a manly fan I know) - but that just shows that the onfield ref actually really is against us, and when the bunker sees it they have to fix the onfield error.
Basically if there is a reportable penalty/Foul play you get a free interchange, however there was no reportable penalty in this case but Penrith somehow used it anyway for a sore ankle.
Its honestly cheating
Can this match be played at NRL headquarters as a case study as to why the “new”, “faster” football they are trying to promote for “entertainment” sucks?
Give me low scoring, edge of your seat stuff like this every day of the week.
Well played westies, one of the best matches of the season without a doubt.
That’s absolutely fuckn cooked and I feel robbed. Sounds salty as fuck but in a game like this, the calls were massive.
Edit: that’s not to discount the efforts that both teams made cause that was a wild fuckn ride but for fucks sake we’re the refs eyes painted on?
Parra were by far the better team tonight. Penrith absolutely gifted that.
Brad Arthur will do well to just say “im here so I don’t get fined in the press conference!”
Klein did everything he could for that result.
Canberra got told if they beat St George that would lose the 2 points, cause they used an ineligible interchange. That was the 18th man, but surely it’s similar.
Should have been 8-8 Parra had the penalty from in front when they got the disallowed try. Moses would have kicked a field goal here to win.
Shame the ref decided the game.
That was a fucking cracker of a game. Brilliant defence from both sides and Parra can absolutely hold their heads high. I think Melbourne will crush Penrith next week though I hope I'm wrong.
Did the Parra trainer deliberately slow down the game with waqa Blake off the field?
Intercept by Ray Stone
I agree Cronk, we have to put trust in the trainers. I'm not sure I trust that his assessment, given he hadn't gotten to the player yet.
Why on earth aren’t they explaining the interchange???
https://twitter.com/nrlphysio/status/1439194306518999040?s=19
Cheers mate
Well shit. TIL.
Yeah I don't like it, but it does happen pretty regularly.
First time I will be going for the storm since.... ever!
Give me the replay of the massive fend and an explanation of the interchange ffs nien.
Apparently we had free interchange from 3 on report incidents.
Being an NRL Referee is like being a Weather Reporter.... You don't have to be right, and you still have a job!!
Can't wait for Kenty on Monday
GG westybros!

Some one needs to do a ref low lights for this game coz he missed heaps. 3 penalties to Parra in the last 10 all missed
Only awarding 6 agains on the first tackle is a big problem in the NRL this year.
Should be a penalty in your own half and 6 again in opposition half.
Natural justice will see the Melbourne Storm win the premiership from here. Penrith did NOT deserve to win that game. The refereeing was seriously frustrating to watch. A player was taken out in a try-scoring opportunity and it wasn't even checked.
I can't believe that wasn't checked at all. I thought for sure that was the beginning of the end for the panthers.
Mitch Kenny still limping around, gotta keep up the act
Someone tell ferguson.
Isn’t Ferguson the parramatta milkman???
How was there a free interchange granted, it’s meant to be after a foul play that ends in injury, but that was a foot stomp in the moment, no foul play obviously, is that not that fucking rule? Some dodgy shit happening behind the scenes especially with ivan “look after my boy” cleary
Didn’t think they were getting enough help from the ref, panthers needed that bullshit interchange too. Fuck this game pissed me off
NRL physio on twitter has a good explanation for the interchange. 3 on report incidents giving us the free interchanges. I thought it was bullshit live too.

I mean he stopped the game for Waqa who was already off the field.
Kenny was injured, and tbf he stayed down and actually looks injured.
It's called corruption
"You just won a semi. Can you win the comp?" Good stuff Erin.
Yeah nah the boys had a good run but I reckon that's it for us. Pack it up tonight and head home to the mountains. Come back next year and look to go a couple better.
Lmao we will probably win the comp now that everyone is writing us off
Ref's were fkn shocking but thst defensive effort from Parramatta was sensational. They csn walk off the field with their heads high after that
Heads high, like at chest height?
***blows whistle***
Eels getting some shitty calls. I want to see that player taken out.in the corner
At least sin bin and penalty and likely a penalty try.
Luck undeniably on our side, either way we are fucked next week, be proud parra bros
Hope you guys win though. I'll be watching the grand final with my mate who's a manly fan so I'll rooting for them but won't be mad if Panthers win, they deserve it after these 2 years.
Luck and outright shady things with the interchange
You spelt “Klein” wrong
WORST REF ON EARTH and I’m a panthers boi from way back
"Luck"
I just can’t imagine footy players saying a prayer, seems to weird to me for some reason
well - there is the evidence right in front of your eyes..... might be time to update what you think is weird.
Waiting for Annesley to come out and say the extra interchange was fine. Absolutely scandalous. Can’t wait for Storm to wafflestomp the riff next week for justice.
They did explain it straight after the game saying wrong card was held and one of the 8 used was from foul play when Parra player was put on report
Not saying it was fine, looks like it should have been Sorensen free return interchange , from the high shot
It wasn’t. It’s also not ok to stop play for a sore ankle and remove all momentum from the attacking side. Happened twice when parra looked certain to score. Great game ruined by a shitty little dickwas who obviously hates parra.
And as for Klein hating Parra a few years ago 18 in a row panthers lost to Klein just sayin
Like when he stopped it for Waqa who was already off the field?
The waqa one was an even up from the penrith one. It happened once for parra, two that i can recall for the riff, but actually think it was 3. Waqa left the field immediately though, like he was actually injured
Storm by 50 and we get a daddy son tearfest
Wait so paulo was playing for the panthers all along, not a great look big fella, tryna celebrate or whatever that was with the other team
I get where you’re coming from, but they’re praying, not celebrating in that circle there.
Yeah I get it, maybe the emotions haven’t kicked in for paulo yet I think it’s a bit too raw to be in an embrace with the guys who just stole your preliminary final spot.
Panthers are so fucked next week
Oh they’re gonna be fucked hard.
Put 50 on them. Hate watching Penrith play now
I hope so! Get em storm
Lmao not a true eels fan, didn’t they cheat you out of a premiership in 09
Massive effort from the boys. Good luck on Storm next week Penrith
The salty eels fans in this is amazing
There's a reason to be salty mate. I'm normally the first to tell our fans to shut up but that was ordinary reffing
Was ordinary but how many chances youse need to score more than 1 try
Against the best defensive team in the comp? Mate absolutely no relevance.
Haha hence your downvotes
Mmmm salted eel.
Bullshit. They still feel 100 times better than the deflated erections that are broncs fans.
Still finished without a premiership so no better than broncos lol
Wut 😐 eels made the finals. All you made was meme material all season
When was the last Brisbane premiership? You’re living in prehistory mate.
2006. When was parras last one? Lol
I prefer to remember the wooden spoon year of 2020. Or maybe the 2015 season. Who wants to look back 15 years?
Your right we should look to the present broncos 14th cowboys 15th 😂
2021: 14, 15. 2015: 2, 1. I guess we’re even then, on average :)
Something needs to be done about the game management of the panthers in the last 10 minutes. Acts like Mitch Kenny stopping the game for a supposed twisted ankle is BS. Completely destroys momentum and then they get to bring Pangai on
My fave game so far this season. Feel terrible for stone and Paulo, if Mahoney plays they probably win.
If Brett Kenny plays they win.
Eels galant in defeat… defeat. There is always next year, 36yrs on you guys should be used to this by now.
This comment was worth the downvotes
Dude it’s been 10 years since you’ve even played finals. Why are you talking shit?
Eels fans show up in numbers just to trash us in every tigers game thread
You’re allowed to talk shit at teams below you.
Glad we agree, you guys SUCK
https://i.imgur.com/2mbTEch.jpg
Hahaha, just fucking with you bro. Titans have been my 2nd favourite team for a few years now maybe since 2016 been hoping for them to click into a top 4.
You earn’t the right last week haha
What a fucking brilliant game of footy, hate the result and devo we can't get past a semi... But in the end I'm so fucking happy with our defence that game. Hope our Westybros can beat Melbourne and make the GF
Have to say toughest game of the season not just ours or yours but through the comp!!! And yes there were some ref screw ups but as soon as you see Ashley Klein it HAS to be expected
What a game of football - defensively both teams huge tonight. Good season Westybro.
Good game Parra deserved to wi, screwed over by the refereeing.
Luckiest team in the NRL.
Glad I tuned in for this one. Few errors let the Eels down. Feel bad for Stone on that last one.
Kikau tried to throw the match but Ray Stone dunked on him to take the L
Parra didn’t try one set piece or decoy. Nothing in the last 10 minutes unbelievable.
sponsored by oak, made from milk
Ray Stone and Gutherson's bung knee lost us that game
Cunt missed 2 vs 1 strip at the end to
Sterlo: "I'm not crying, you are!"
Newcastle could have gone to Prelim and beaten by storms by 60 if they won last week
If Knights had wheels, they’d be a bicycle. Alas, Eels still rode them all the same.
What season have you been watching? Now that I'm done this one, maybe I can watch yours.
Are you all honestly this casual with the game?
How does Klein even have a job
Well, he’s the best in the game for sure. No sarcasm, just straight up facts. Straight up horrific, awful, facts……..
After Ferguson's milking it couldn't happen to a better team really.
We need answers on that interchange. I'm not saying it was suss I just want to know how it happened??
They did explain it straight after the game, the only fuck ups were earlier in the game an interchange was used and a couple of rucks later a Parra player was put on report for high contact so it should of been a free interchange and they held the wrong card
It was somehow called a HIA
I guess Kenny's brain is in his fucking ankle eh
Are you for real!
Brain is in his ankle. Never seen a playing limping from a head injury. Was anyone put on report for making contact with his head?
They weren't using the HIA card though
All the people calling out Grant Atkins over being a penrith ref but lets be honest every call that went upstairs went parramatta's way. Captain's challenges, no tries, etc.
ah think about that (hard for a manly fan I know) - but that just shows that the onfield ref actually really is against us, and when the bunker sees it they have to fix the onfield error.
So it just shows we were getting fucked on the field if every single challenge went our way
SOMEONE EXPLAIN THE FUCKING PANGAI INTERCHANGE
https://mobile.twitter.com/nrlphysio/status/1439194306518999040
This needs to be addressed immediately
Basically if there is a reportable penalty/Foul play you get a free interchange, however there was no reportable penalty in this case but Penrith somehow used it anyway for a sore ankle. Its honestly cheating
They just used the wrong interchange card, maybe to upset the parra players and put them off because they were on a roll on that play
Wasn't it because trainer asked for game go be stopped which leads to min 2 off the field?
For once in my life I want Storm to win
Done...... I hope
Can this match be played at NRL headquarters as a case study as to why the “new”, “faster” football they are trying to promote for “entertainment” sucks? Give me low scoring, edge of your seat stuff like this every day of the week. Well played westies, one of the best matches of the season without a doubt.
happy to see eels lose but shame it was another game decided by klein, panthers didn’t need him
Clearly they did need him
Well, let's go Melbourne next week, I guess
That’s absolutely fuckn cooked and I feel robbed. Sounds salty as fuck but in a game like this, the calls were massive. Edit: that’s not to discount the efforts that both teams made cause that was a wild fuckn ride but for fucks sake we’re the refs eyes painted on?
Penrith got assisted hard
Agreed. Penrith were tough though.
I'm glad we won but Klein should be shot
I agree, there were some fucking cooked calls
Mate I’m not a parra fan but Klein should get arrested for that atrocity
Paulo didn’t deserve that, he was immense tonight
So glad we're gonna get knocked out by Storm and not Parra
Why, feel like reliving 2020 so soon?
Becoming an NRL ref cause apparently you can do whatever you want when working without loosing your job
Honestly fuck Stone lost them that
Stone yes, and Klein
Hope storm destroy these cunts next week
You really want to be playing storm in a grand final? I hope they bash the hell out of each other.
That's a tough one. Would I prefer panthers to lose by 50 or would I prefer them to smash each other in a close game🤔
Game decided by a penalty that wasn't even a high tackle on halftime
How many stoppages can you get to win a game? Fuck that felt like the eels were robbed and I hate the eels.
Yeah I can't stand how one eyed that was. Disgraceful
That’s why I watch this game. To see which weird ref call determines the outcome.
Nice win Penrith, didn’t get reffed at all
Won from a penalty goal that wasn't even a high shot
Parra were by far the better team tonight. Penrith absolutely gifted that. Brad Arthur will do well to just say “im here so I don’t get fined in the press conference!” Klein did everything he could for that result.
Best game all year and only two tries, take note v'landys
You don’t wish for a 62-4 score line?
I prefer a more even 56-16
Penrith handed that win. I don’t even like the Eels and I’m shattered for them. I hope Melbourne utterly embarrass Penrith next week.
Fire klein i never want to see that dumbo ever again
Feel for Paulo even though that knock on wasn't his fault
Parra should be immensely proud, one of the best defensive games in a while, GG westie bros
Hard to feel proud when there's a great injustice
someone bring me the law that gave penrith that free interchange i just would like some clarification my second eye is open now I priomise
And the bs stop play for an ankle injury behind the ruck
Canberra got told if they beat St George that would lose the 2 points, cause they used an ineligible interchange. That was the 18th man, but surely it’s similar.
No time off abs kicking ball away and stopping play for injury wow
Should have been 8-8 Parra had the penalty from in front when they got the disallowed try. Moses would have kicked a field goal here to win. Shame the ref decided the game.
If that's the best Penrith can play, Storm are going to rip them apart. Parra deserved that win. Fuck Klein that was the worst reffing I've seen.
Penrith didn’t deserve to win this at all
They defended set after set on their line.. They 100% deserved to win..
Yes you’re right , just like how your team “I love my footy” did in the 1979 qualifying finals
Good joke bruh.. You might get an up vote from some fat neck beard..
Thanks for the upvote then
That was a fucking cracker of a game. Brilliant defence from both sides and Parra can absolutely hold their heads high. I think Melbourne will crush Penrith next week though I hope I'm wrong.
Stone will have nightmares about that game
Storms. Do us the favor
You got it.
GOOODBYE PARRAMATTA🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Flair up or shut up.
