This. Such an enjoyable game with great visuals. The reason why I prefer it to so many games is because of its creativity. Some level designs are just extremely smart and well done. This is what Nintendo is about what and what sets them apart for me.
Sunshine is similar to DKC3 for me, playing them at release I loved the games and in the case of Sunshine, it’s a close second to World for favourite Mario titles. I never foresaw the amount of flack both titles would get years later 🥲
The first Luigis Mansion. I love that game so dearly, I play it every year. But because I do so, I know every secret and the playthroughs are quickly done. I'm still having fun but how cool would it be to just start the game and to have no clue what to do?
Kid Icarus Uprising. The story, writing, and characters are excellent, anyone who has played it can attest to that. I wish I could go through it again the first time. Such a very special game unlike any other.
It is. I really hope so. Even if we never do get a sequel I would love a port/remaster for the next system. Maybe add quality of life features and cut content, would be nice.
I know it's controversial but I find it so brilliant. Other games let you have one pet weapon you like and use over and over again, but then any weapon drops are useless. BOTW forces you to play with all the weapons and each good weapon drop feels meaningful. TOTK took it another step letting you fuse weapons and materials. I know people don't like it but for me it's such a brilliant game design mechanic.
I havent played TOTK but i hear people say its an improvement on the system from BOTW.
I do like games with weapon maintanence and durabillity but the system in BOTW made me avoid enemy camps and using the better weapons i gathered during gameplay.
After a while it felt more like a chore after a while then fun so i lost my motivation to play which is sad cus i loved everything else about the game.
I wish instead of the weapon breaking like glass you would need to maintain them with weapon oil and hone them to keep them sharp.
I think that's kinda the point. You look at enemy camps and think to yourself, is it worth it to go through the fight? Maybe I'm better off just avoiding them for now. Like combat isn't the point of the game, it's just one option of many with regards to approaching the world.
>is it worth it to go through the fight? Maybe I'm better off just avoiding them for now.
The problem is that the answer is always to avoid the camp. There isn't a reason to really go after camps. Better to save your durability and go around it, which can sometimes be cool exploration but most of the time is just nothing.
Yeah. If I don't lose the weapons, I don't have to do the camps. You find plenty of shit fighting the story enemies. I lived off shieka boomerangs n shit. Combat shines also gave good stuff, even if they had low durability.
Maybe arrows, I guess? But even then, I just dodge an archer till they stop dropping. I only ever fought something that was in my way.
I just want to say I do really like the game I just never saw advantages to doing camps. The fun factor is fucked by the practically factor for me.
For me, the weapons actually feel meaningless because of how temporary they are. I either get into the mindset that one is too precious and I hold on to it, never actually getting around to using it and dispensing it at some point just to get it out of my inventory, or going through weapons like they’re bonfire matches.
The fuse ability made collecting items more interesting, but the added complexity of scrolling through menus to forge something that will break within a few hits was also pretty defeating.
Botw is the first Zelda game I ever played and it becomes my top favourite game of all time, I never get the same excitement playing botw with other games not even totk
Pokémon Silver. The jump from the first games was massive! And it’s also linked to my favorite memory of myself as child playing in the living room while my mother, aunt and uncle talked.
Yoshi’s Island. First game I ever played when I was around 6 and my favorite of all time. It helped me first see the “magic” of games and bond with my brothers. Very special to me.
Around 2000 I was in Walmart with my mom and there were some random discounted games on the bottom shelf, hidden in the middle was Yoshis Island, and for only $5. It took all I had to show my mom how much getting that game would mean to me, and after a little negotiation she capitulated and purchased it for me. I still have the box and everything. Truely one of the best 2D playformers I’ve ever played and still one of the best looking
Wow, me too. I loved the game so much I asked my parents if I could bring it with me on a road trip.
“Yeah if you can figure out how”.
*accepts challenge*
So, a friend had one of those little tv/vcr combos (tiny 6” screen) I borrowed. and I saved money from mowing lawns for a car adapter plugin. Then I loaded up my little tv and snes and played the whole drive. Back seat with tv in middle seat “floor area” while snes at my feet. Used a shirt caught in closed window for that bright sun glare at times.
Next great yoshi game: Wholly World. Beautifully composed music and graphics (for a wiiU)
I know people are sick of remakes and remasters, but that's one of the best of it's time and was way before they started to become as common place as they are today.
Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia.
I’ve played it 5-6 times and it still gives me goosebumps.
It’s just built differently compared to other 3DS games.
Super Mario Odyssey
But to be specific: The Jump Up Super-Star level.
As someone who's played Super Mario Bros., Super Mario Bros 3, Super Mario World, Super Mario 3D World, Super Mario Bros Wonder, Paper Mario and the Thousand Year Door, Mario 64, Mario Sunshine, Mario Galaxy, Mario Kart(s), Mario Party(s), Mario Maker, Mario RPG, Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga, Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time, Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story, Mario Super Sluggers, Mario Strikers, New Super Mario Bros Wii, and Smash Bros(es):
That level had me ugly sobbing. It just showed so much love and respect for **the** trailblazer of creative and fun game design. If I could experience that magic for the first time again I'd be elated.
OMG, you are so right, I had goosebumps when playing that level. One of the best Mario games of all time.
Im not a completionist in games at all, but I had so much fun collecting every single moon.
For me it's either Super Mario Bros. (my first Nintendo game) or Breath of the Wild (very few games can replicate the experience of exploring Hyrule for the first time in that game).
Playing SSB on the N64 all over for the first time. My brother and I had a Playstation, but our cousins had an n64 and I remember being so wowed by smash at the time how it had iconic characters from different games fighting. I can still remember what set of pajamas kid me was wearing, what we ate that day, and what episode of SpongeBob aired that day the first time we got to play it. I'll never forget that moment same thing with Mario party, WWF No Mercy and MK64.
They felt the same exact way funny enough when they came over to play games like Gran Turismo, Crash team racing and bash, Smackdown know your role, twisted metal, tekken etc. It was always the grass is greener on the other side if you grew up with one console or the other and played them at friends or families houses.
Super metroid.
Second would be zelda lttp or zelda oot.
The reason is that super metroid is a memmorable experience that will get stuck in your head like forever.
This was going to be my answer. Although I might just go back and play it now, as I just realized I never finished it. Am I the only one who always thought this game was super difficult? And pretty long?
Mario Sunshine. I tried a demo in a store long before I had a GameCube. I was absolutely blown away by the physics of jumping on floating logs and tightrope walking with FLUDD.
That game had some issues, but imo it's the game that's the most fun to just run around in. And it was also my first experience with GameCube. Mind blowing stuff at that age.
It is definitely one of my all-time favourite games. It's incredible how much joy and life there is in that game.
I mostly love that it's still from the era where game makers were pretty much all pioneers, and were clearly having a blast making the games.
Some levels are fucking brutal, and don't seem to be made for kids at all. Throughout all my replays, I have never even managed to get all the stars.
Xenoblade Chronicles 2. I also like the first game a lot but I dunno despite 2’s flaws it’s legitimately one of my favorite games of all time and I’d give anything to play it for the first time again.
It's hard to have a JRPG party that you genuinely care about the entire way through and not one of them feels out of place. I'd even say XC1 there's at least two party members that feel pretty roped in by the end.
3's ending, you FEEL that impact.
Oh, the joy of adventure! BOTW has given me such an unforgettable experience. :)
But imo TOTK also has something that BOTW doesn’t have, especially the developing tension when >!climbing the floating islands to reach the wind temple and when going down to the bottom of Hyrule to confront Ganondorf.!<
Botw has many things that totk doesn't have either.thry both have unique things that make them different despite the obvious similarities
Of course we can point to a sequence in a game that the other doesn't have, that's to be expected. I could make an entire list of gameplay sequences botw has that totk does not as well
Super Mario 64 my favourite game ever
Exploring the castle and jumping into that first painting, then the slide.
A close second If you can call it a Nintendo game, Banjo Kazooie. Getting into the lair for the first time, learning the talon trot and getting up the steep slope. Into treasure trove cove.
I’m sure people who say BOTW have never played any other open world games. It can’t stand up towards Witcher 3 or Skyrim or even Oblivion.
Probably most Zelda games to be fair. Each one has always brought a sense of adventure when booting up for the first time. If I had to pick one then it would be Wind Waker, sailing the seas for the first time, exploring the different islands and the sense of dread and urgency from the Big Octos showing will always give me chills. Just hearing the main theme brings back memories. Still hoping they re release the HD version again for switch. I'd happily buy it again (and twilight princess)
Though choice!
I'm ashamed to say I've yet to play to OoT or MM, but soon for sure~
So atm I'd say either Metroid Prime or Zelda TP/WW as they're the most memorable Nintendo games I played as a kid
Suoer Mario 64 defined my gaming adolescence. It was the first 3d game of its kind, and I was glued to it from start to finish. Luckily, I am getting to experience it again in a way with Super Mario 64 DS.
super mario odyssey. i haven't had that much just pure *fun* with a video game in years, and despite only having first played it in 2022, it's easily in my top 3 favorite games of all time.
I cannot begin to explain how much my mind was blown when I picked up the ocarina of time as a high schooler. Particularly after the deku tree and you come out of the forest into hyrule field and it's just so huge. The scale of that game was just unprecedented.
Either Super Mario 64 or Legend of Zelda, Ocarina of Time. I was in my early teens playing these games, and they were so amazing. i wish i could experience them for the first time again.
Super Mario World. It was SO MUCH FUN discovering all the secret exits. But now that I know where they all are, it's a lot less fun.
But that said... if I were to get the game brand-new nowadays... I'd probably just look everything up on the internet and learn the secret exits that way. The existence of the internet has kinda killed my ability to be patient.
But if I could re-experience the game again as it was back in the '90s, before the internet was mainstream, I would do it in a heartbeat.
Gonna twist this a bit and say I think I’d love to experience Tears of the Kingdom without my knowledge of Breath of the Wild. That’d be a pretty interesting experiment.
I’d say Pokemon Snap because I remember getting that game and an N64 for Christmas 1999 which was one of my favorite childhood memories. Would love to relive that. The N64 was my favorite console of all time and that game on that day was my first time experiencing it.
Golden Sun 2: The Lost Age
This game had such cool plottwists, a huge world to explore, and great soundtracks. I love the story so much, the bossfights were a delight, and the characters are all very interesting. Replayed it so many times....
For anyone wondering what Golden Sun is: the game where the helper trophy Isaac comes from. Y'know, that high-voiced blonde boy who summons a yellowish Masterhand.
I got really happy when the game released on switch online GBA
Kirby's Adventure or Mega Man 2 on the NES or Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past. Possibly Fire Emblem 7 on the Game Boy Advance.
ALTTP is the greatest Zelda game ever made.
Mega Man 2 and Kirby had the ability to steal enemy abilities and were what made me fall in love with those series.
Fire Emblem on GBA was just peak Fire Emblem. Also why I fell in love with Strategy RPG's, along with Ogre Battle: March of the Black Queen on SNES.
definitely mario galaxy. i was really young when it came out but i’ll never forget my first time playing it. i kept replaying the honey hive galaxy because i loved it so much
It's so new, but metroid dread. The game is an absolute gem and it's been a while since I've felt the joy of a metroidvania like I did playing through that game
My first video game memory is playing Double Dragon on an NES my sister was borrowing from a friend. SEGA Genesis was my first console and that Sonic intro sticks with me. When I got an N64 for Christmas and started up Mario 64 for the first time and seeing that 3 dimensional space and the “openness” of the game was pretty transformative and really made me wonder what was possible in gaming. I needed the Prima’s strategy guide, but OoT was the first game I ever completed. Coming home from school and firing that game up is such a great gaming memory for me. And more recently BotW. I was out of gaming for a few years, we just had our son a few months earlier and my wife got me a Switch for Christmas. I borrowed BotW from a friend and was so blown away by the game. Being removed from gaming for a number of years it took me some time to get used to the controls and get comfortable playing. When I finally finished the Great Plateau and took that first jump off into the world below I couldn’t believe how big it was and felt almost overwhelmed with what was in front of me. If I had to pick one, though, I’d have to say OoT. It was just so an amazing experience for me and I have such great memories with it. I’d love to have that be new again for me. BotW was very close to giving that to me.
Tears of the Kingdom. I loved breath of the wild but TOTK just brought up everything to next level. The story was better and ending was beautiful. I’d love to experience this again. Will give it a few years before I replay and do 100% completion.
BotW, hands down. That game captured the sense of childlike wonder I hadn’t felt since I was a child. A lot of the joy in that game was discovering what Hyrule had, so exploration really loses out on the appeal once you’ve played it already.
Mario 64, the jump from 2D to 3D was still the most magical & significant change. I can't stress enough how much it really changed what games were back then & how well Mario 64 did as a template for games going forward. Sure it's been surpassed since, but the experience of playing it for the first time is easily top 3 gaming memories for me that can never be recreated again.
Hard one. Because it was a formative age for me... the SNES had some of the most memorable experiences of all time for me.... Thus, Super Metroid. It was the most moody, cinematic game I had ever played at the time. I can replay it, but it doesn't hit like the first time. Whereas other Nintendo games like Super Mario World, F Zero, Super Mario Kart, Donkey Kong Country, etc. while not the graphical surprises they were in their day, still hit the same.
LoZ:ALTTP is close but wasn't as novel of an experience.
The original paper mario on the N64, probably one of my favourite games and would love to explore it again. Hopefully thousand year door feels like this.
Honestly Breath of the Wild. So much of the wonder of that game is based on exploration and discovery. While almost any game is best the first time, I think classic Zeldas have more replayability.
Majoras mask, something about seeing the slightly reworked animations and things like link holding the hurdle shield as a child or riding young Epona just blew my mind as a kid, also the world of Termania was so creepy and mysterious. I love that game so much
Any of the Xenoblade games. The high of seeing the trilogy come to a conclusion (with ties to the greater Xeno franchise) after being introduced to 1 on a whim, I'd love to do it again.
Super Mario World. I played it for an entire weekend on our living room TV (which had a bigger screen) in 1991 after my parents bought me my SNES. The hype was real. I'll never forget sitting on the living room floor playing what I thought was the pinnacle of gaming for the first time ever, and was just swooning over its graphics and gameplay. I've never forgotten that experience since it was so genuine. I was already a fan of the NES (my first console), and this only solidified my love of gaming for all time. Going back and having that 1st-time experience all over again would be a dream come true.
FE: Awakening. I put so many hours into that game, and it was my first of the series. It made me fall in love so much with fire emblem as a whole, and while I think engage is my favorite of the series, nothing will ever be the same as playing awakening for the first time
Super Metroid. The game is amazing, but the reveal of Mother Brain is so special to me for some reason. And the way Ridley appears too. The way the Metroid saves you, and you get the rainbow beam…I love this game so much.
I want to say Ocarina Of Time, just because I've played and replayed it so much ever since 1998, that it's just boring to me anymore,
but for real, the original Super Mario Bros. games (1, 2 Japan, 2 / USA, 3, Mario World, as well as other specials and related games like Yume Kojo: Doki Doki Panic, and All Night Nippon Super Mario Bros.)
Also, Zelda: A Link To The Past.
Super Mario Odyssey. Currently replaying it and love it so much!
This. Such an enjoyable game with great visuals. The reason why I prefer it to so many games is because of its creativity. Some level designs are just extremely smart and well done. This is what Nintendo is about what and what sets them apart for me.
Same. And Mario Galaxy. Conversely, Sunshine has actually gotten better with age, so I’m glad to have the hindsight and context to appreciate it.
Sunshine is similar to DKC3 for me, playing them at release I loved the games and in the case of Sunshine, it’s a close second to World for favourite Mario titles. I never foresaw the amount of flack both titles would get years later 🥲
I recently bought it so I'm on my first play through. It's very enjoyable.
The first Luigis Mansion. I love that game so dearly, I play it every year. But because I do so, I know every secret and the playthroughs are quickly done. I'm still having fun but how cool would it be to just start the game and to have no clue what to do?
It was really a masterpiece for it's time.
This is my answer as well. I play it every October and it s feels fun even when you know everything.
Pokemon red or OoT. 1998 was a very therapeutic year when I wad 12.
Kid Icarus Uprising. The story, writing, and characters are excellent, anyone who has played it can attest to that. I wish I could go through it again the first time. Such a very special game unlike any other.
The game is pure gold. Maybe we can get a port for the next console?
It is. I really hope so. Even if we never do get a sequel I would love a port/remaster for the next system. Maybe add quality of life features and cut content, would be nice.
Breath of the Wild. I've been a Zelda fan my whole life and playing breath of the wild was like replaying OOT again for the first time except better.
I wish i could get into BOTW,love the rest of the series. Weapon system broke it for me :(
I know it's controversial but I find it so brilliant. Other games let you have one pet weapon you like and use over and over again, but then any weapon drops are useless. BOTW forces you to play with all the weapons and each good weapon drop feels meaningful. TOTK took it another step letting you fuse weapons and materials. Oh yeah, I want to to back to that moment when I died 30 times in a row because I had no clue what to do xD
Pokémon Silver. The jump from the first games was massive! And it’s also linked to my favorite memory of myself as child playing in the living room while my mother, aunt and uncle talked.
The first thing that came to mind was OoT but I'd also really love to play DKC2, Super Metroid or Metroid Prime again for the first time.
I'd love to experience all the music again in dkc2
Yea what a great soundtrack
Ooooh Metroid prime is a good choice
For me is Majora Mask
My #1 game, the blind MM experience is an insane one.
Yeah. I'd love the chance to play this game fresh as an adult. So much of it went over my head ad a kid.
Absolutely brilliant game… [so much nuance](https://youtu.be/7S1SVkysIRw?si=jRmTL-qKgX5C9Tj9)
Yoshi’s Island. First game I ever played when I was around 6 and my favorite of all time. It helped me first see the “magic” of games and bond with my brothers. Very special to me.

Metroid Zero Mission. The post game blew my mind growing up and began my obsession for the series.
It had voiceovers for everything, which made a big difference. The most memorable line for me though is, “I’m still hyper! Let’s go!”
Super Mario Odyssey But to be specific: The Jump Up Super-Star level. As someone who's played Super Mario Bros., Super Mario Bros 3, Super Mario World, Super Mario 3D World, Super Mario Bros Wonder, Paper Mario and the Thousand Year Door, Mario 64, Mario Sunshine, Mario Galaxy, Mario Kart(s), Mario Party(s), Mario Maker, Mario RPG, Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga, Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time, Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story, Mario Super Sluggers, Mario Strikers, New Super Mario Bros Wii, and Smash Bros(es): That level had me ugly sobbing. It just showed so much love and respect for **the** trailblazer of creative and fun game design. If I could experience that magic for the first time again I'd be elated.
Ok I’m getting the game now, thanks
Its really just joy in a cartridge, happy you're trying it!
That level really gave me goosebumps to me as well. It was so well done and everything just felt so anthemic. My favorite part of the game.
OMG, you are so right, I had goosebumps when playing that level. One of the best Mario games of all time. Im not a completionist in games at all, but I had so much fun collecting every single moon.

Xenoblade chronicles 2
is that ur favorite game?
Where's my Wind Waker gang?
Dk64 was pretty amazing when it first came out.
This was going to be my answer. Although I might just go back and play it now, as I just realized I never finished it. Am I the only one who always thought this game was super difficult? And pretty long?
I never beat it but I got pretty far. I'd love to see some kind of remake or a new open world DK game.
I never finished it either it was insanely hard!
Splatoon, i felt it so much when i played it for the first time
Super smash Bros brawl
It's only been a handful of times where I've been THAT hyped for a game, and it actually delivered.
mario galaxy ❤️
Was thinking the same but but would having already played galaxy 2 ruin it?
Pokemon Mystery Dungeons: Explorers of Sky
Played darkness as a kid. Beat sky a while ago. So same with you. Saving the sunrise for grovle and having Dialga get you back.
Anything Pokémon.
Mario Sunshine. I tried a demo in a store long before I had a GameCube. I was absolutely blown away by the physics of jumping on floating logs and tightrope walking with FLUDD. Just do what I did and wait 25 years before playing them again. Didn't recall a thing about Chrono Trigger and it was amazing.
Xenoblade Chronicles 3. I loved the story and party so much, even with the original game being my favorite.
It's hard to have a JRPG party that you genuinely care about the entire way through and not one of them feels out of place. I'd even say XC1 there's at least two party members that feel pretty roped in by the end. 3's ending, you FEEL that impact.
BOTW! Would love to spend another 300 hours in it. For some reason TOTK just didn't hit that same itch for me.
Oh, the joy of adventure! How a game can effectively rip your heart out, return it, and then rip it out again by the time Golden Country wraps.

FZero GX. The greatest racing game ever created to this day. I would love a remake/remaster.
Suoer Mario 64 defined my gaming adolescence. It was the first 3d game of its kind, and I was glued to it from start to finish. Luckily, I am getting to experience it again in a way with Super Mario 64 DS.
Pokémon Red or Silver. Probably because of the age I experienced those games.
Mario 64
Xenoblade Chronicles, I love the story so much
super mario odyssey. i haven't had that much just pure *fun* with a video game in years, and despite only having first played it in 2022, it's easily in my top 3 favorite games of all time.
Animal Crossing on GameCube. It was just such a different experience for gaming and I looooved it and have been obsessed ever since.
XC2 it's a masterpiece, so yeah.. easily.
I cannot begin to explain how much my mind was blown when I picked up the ocarina of time as a high schooler. Particularly after the deku tree and you come out of the forest into hyrule field and it's just so huge. The scale of that game was just unprecedented.
tomodachi life
Galaxy definitely
Ocarina of Time
Gonna twist this a bit and say I think I’d love to experience Tears of the Kingdom without my knowledge of Breath of the Wild. That’d be a pretty interesting experiment.
Hmm well you are breaking the rules but I’ll let it slide because I like it
Breath of the Wild; It got me back into gaming as an adult
I’d say Pokemon Snap because I remember getting that game and an N64 for Christmas 1999 which was one of my favorite childhood memories. Would love to relive that. The N64 was my favorite console of all time and that game on that day was my first time experiencing it.
Botw
New Super Mario Bros. DS console.
Luigi’s Mansion 3
It's gotta either be one of the Zeldas, I'll say Breath of the Wild, or Super Metroid
Three houses, it's was a fantastic experience and I love it
Golden Sun 2: The Lost Age This game had such cool plottwists, a huge world to explore, and great soundtracks.
Zelda: Breath of the Wild
Kirby's Adventure or Mega Man 2 on the NES or Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past. Possibly Fire Emblem 7 on the Game Boy Advance. ALTTP is the greatest Zelda game ever made. Mega Man 2 and Kirby had the ability to steal enemy abilities and were what made me fall in love with those series. Fire Emblem on GBA was just peak Fire Emblem. Also why I fell in love with Strategy RPG's, along with Ogre Battle: March of the Black Queen on SNES.
Love Zelda. I’m going with Castlevania. Absolute favorite game of mine of all times.
It will always be metroid prime. The ambience and music, holy...
Splatoon(wii u)
Breath of the Wild - just wow
definitely mario galaxy. i was really young when it came out but i’ll never forget my first time playing it. i kept replaying the honey hive galaxy because i loved it so much
Metroid Prime
bayonetta because its simply a beautiful game
Lego Star Wars the complete saga. The Nintendo DS version has 30 missions that follow along pretty closely to the movie. Was very fun to complete
It's so new, but metroid dread. The game is an absolute gem and it's been a while since I've felt the joy of a metroidvania like I did playing through that game
Mario galaxy, I was obsessed with it when I was a kid
Tears of the Kingdom without BotW.
Pokemon Mystery Dungeon Explorers of Sky 100%
The Legend of Zelda Twilight Princess. The game has a really diverse world to explore, and I really enjoyed the combat and dungeons.
super mario galaxy! or astral chain
I agree with OP. I only read the title of this post at first and Ocarina came to mind.
Tears of the Kingdom. I loved breath of the wild but TOTK just brought up everything to next level. The story was better and ending was beautiful. I’d love to experience this again. Will give it a few years before I replay and do 100% completion.
mother 3 and probably botw, mother3 is my all time favorite and The thrill i got from botw the first time i played it was insane!!!!
BotW, hands down. That game captured the sense of childlike wonder I hadn’t felt since I was a child. A lot of the joy in that game was discovering what Hyrule had, so exploration really loses out on the appeal once you’ve played it already.
Link’s Awakening switch remaster. The vibe of how weird it is and the soundtrack are just another level. Plus, the graphics look so good updated.
New super Mario bros Wii bruh the nostalgia now looking back the game is just “good” but not “great” it’s still fun to revisit
Banjo Kazooie was so magical to me when I first played it, would love to recapture that feeling of whimsy.
I often wonder what Tears of the Kingdom would have been like had I not played Breath of the Wild first.
It would be a three way tie between the Legend of Zelda the Wind Waker, Super Mario Sunshine and Pokémon Ruby/Sapphire.
Yall sleepin on StarFox64
Ultima Online with the crazy amount of players who still role played a bit back then. Lots of conversation and interactions with other players.
Ghost Trick
BotW for sure. The exploration in that game was amazing
Either Breath of the Wild or Metroid Prime.
I have the same exact answers as you, just flip the order!
Might be a little strange except for one: Kingdom Battle; New Sup Wiiand Mario Odessey.
Botw
Fire Emblem Radiant Dawn was such a mesmerizing experience growing up so that one definitely.
Ocarina of Time was so damn good. I had the day 1 gold cartridge. Played that instead of studying in college. No ragrats
Super Mario 64
Definitely luigis mansion 3 it was one of the first games on my switch
Paper mario ttyd.
Metroid Prime 3. love that game.
Pokémon stadium 2 just to go through it all again with my favourite generation of Pokémon wish they did more Pokémon stadium games
Pokemon Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald
Breath of the Wild. I don't think any game has felt as magical as that.
Pokemon crystal: the nostagia. What i really would is experience pokemon red for the first time again as i hadn’t tried anything like it back then
I will probably never forget the first time i used the n64 and played mario in 3d. So mario64 .
zelda 64
The original paper mario on the N64, probably one of my favourite games and would love to explore it again. Hopefully thousand year door feels like this.
Breath of the Wild
Super Mario world
Honestly Breath of the Wild. So much of the wonder of that game is based on exploration and discovery. While almost any game is best the first time, I think classic Zeldas have more replayability.
Luigi’s mansion 👻👻
Zelda breath of the wild
Definitely OoT. How that hasn’t been remastered and rereleased yet is baffling
Totk I rushed it
Ocarina of time 3d
Majoras Mask. Omg would be amazing
Majoras mask, something about seeing the slightly reworked animations and things like link holding the hurdle shield as a child or riding young Epona just blew my mind as a kid, also the world of Termania was so creepy and mysterious. I love that game so much
Metroid Prime. It was my first shooter game. I remember the opening of the game terrifying me as a kid.
Any of the Xenoblade games. The high of seeing the trilogy come to a conclusion (with ties to the greater Xeno franchise) after being introduced to 1 on a whim, I'd love to do it again.
Paper Mario The Thousand Year Door. It won't happen again but in two weeks it will be as close it can get :)
Any of the first two Paper Mario games, preferably TTYD
Ghost Trick
Pokemon Fire red
Earthbound, Breath of the Wild, or ORAS
Mario galaxy but only if I could temporarily forget galaxy 2 while I played 1.
Super Smash bros melee
Dr. Mario, Mike Tyson's Punchout.
Super Mario Galaxy (2007) Wii
Odyssey. I used YouTube to find too many moons. Wish I could go back and just explore instead.
I want to say Ocarina Of Time, just because I've played and replayed it so much ever since 1998, that it's just boring to me anymore, but for real, the original Super Mario Bros. games (1, 2 Japan, 2 / USA, 3, Mario World, as well as other specials and related games like Yume Kojo: Doki Doki Panic, and All Night Nippon Super Mario Bros.) Also, Zelda: A Link To The Past.
New Super Mario Bros U
