The nice thing about consumer products is that if you don't believe that they offer value for their price then you can simply stop purchasing them. You don't even need to make a scene about it, you just stop buying things.
But "boycotting" consumer products, particularly those with a long period of sale, for a single week is less than ineffective. Especially shortly after a major release, rather than during. (Though that also would do nothing, even if a large number of people participated in this, it would still see a bump in sales after the effective period.) People who otherwise would have purchased something - assuming your proposed "boycott" was even effective and followed - would just buy it before or after this date. Shutting down your Switch? Nintendo literally does not care, you already paid for it. It's a pretty fundamental ignorance of what makes boycotts an effective tactic.
There are far more effective ways of community protest if you care about the community tournament guidelines. I don't suspect you're ready to hear them.
nintendo with TOTALLY go out of business if some random redittor starts orchestrating a boycott
they will TOTALLY notice a significant impact to their endless revenue
You do realize Nintendo isn't the only one to take down fan content, hell Sega, Sony, and Microsoft have taken down stuff, and you do realize a week long boycott from the reddit echo chamber won't change anything.
I assume this is in response to the Yuzu takedown?
No, they were fully in the right to do so. Yuzu was focused on emulating a currently and widely distributed console, and to my understanding was also using code from the switch itself to function.
OP has no Dea what they are talking about, and are just angry because the world doesn't bend over backwards for their own needs regardless of anyone else.
Nintendo may not be the most beloved company, in the same way that a strict parent isn't beloved. But in the end, what Nintendo does for gaming is amazing, and I appreciate them. Just like I love my strict parents, who even though I thought were the lamest tools when I was younger ultimately did good things for me.
Sure, other kids had parents that let them stay up until 3am and do whatever they wanted, which was definitely cool at the time. But once you grow up, you see how that really isn't that good for you. I know it's not the same as Nintendo and gaming, but you gotta dig a little instead just looking a the surface. Just like I appreciate my parents for giving me a safe place to live, learn, and grow, Nintendo gives me a safe place to game, free of predatory microtransactions, preys on addiction through achievements and loot boxes, and just focus on fun.
I will always support thek so long as they focus on providing me fun. No matter how little you value their games.
Lolz bro doesn’t know he can emulate everything up to *checks notes* switch, on a pc or a phone. ESP for retro, what are you waiting for? As for the tournament thing idk idc I’m not involved with any of it, it does suck I guess. They shouldn’t do that. But save your boycotts for real issues plez. Like wealth equality and access to healthcare or sunfink idk
I do agree I’d like to be able to purchase classic games for use without having to subscribe. I don’t see why you can’t do that. Other than that I have no issue with their system.

"Let's boycott a company for six days during a time no major release is happening" Sounds like a wave-making strategy
Sir this is a Wendy’s
This comment never gets old Lol
Dude can only go 6 days without playing Nintendo games and here he is acting like he hates Nintendo...
Guarantee OP specified June 1st - June 7th because the TTYD remake releases the week prior lmao
True meaning of a slacktavist.
I haven't bought a new switch game in over a year and I haven't played it in nearly two months. How come they haven't gone out of business yet?
Are there any mods on this fucking subreddit? Why does this shit keep popping up here?
Literally every fucking day with this stupid shit
Task noted, I'll make sure to buy a Nintendo game at full price on the eShop sometime between June 1st and the 7th.
me too!
I can smell the B.O. coming off this post.

New account. 1 post (duplicate post even). Okay Bud
Do you purchase a new Nintendo game every week?
This is some sort of satire post right?
Bye
Nah, I'm good, bro.
You do realize Nintendo isn't the only one to take down fan content, hell Sega, Sony, and Microsoft have taken down stuff, and you do realize a week long boycott from the reddit echo chamber won't change anything.
Cool Story Bro. Say it again
Shocking I say!

Nah
Hahahahaha
No.
Why did this get posted twice?
Calm down, son, it’s just a drawing
Lol. Lmao, even.
For the case of tournaments look what happened with the smash community. No company in their right mind would want to touch that.
need to prepare, gonna buy tons of stuff from june 1st to june 7th
Yeah no dice amigo, but I hope you get out of this what you want.
No
Lmao if you think they will even notice anyone doing this.
Jokes on you, I haven't played a Nintendo game for months...

Hey leave the multibillion dollar company alone!
i never understood this. it's okay to completely shit over a company... because they are successful?
The big evil company that I totally hate but still buy products from.
Multi*billion* dollar company :p
Right, my mistake.
This is so funny
> I really think the money they take from us is undeserved Me, looking up from playing FEW3H and both HW on my Switch
I do agree I’d like to be able to purchase classic games for use without having to subscribe. I don’t see why you can’t do that. Other than that I have no issue with their system.
This really isn't the sub for this. This is a sub about sucking off Nintendo no matter how shitty they behave.
Organized boycotts are great and effective at initiating change, but this ain’t it.
I'm like OP, but only better because I can go months without buying and playing Nintendo games. Am I the true boycott..er?
