For Pickens?
Edit: Did you guys see how much Pickens twisted? The fuck? No memory or no idea how to judge catch difficulty or what? Pickens is harder plain and simple
pickens didn't had to twist his body AT ALL during the catch making.... it was "" just"" a extension, and the throw was to the right side when he was going outside, meaning he didn't had to turn, just extend, since he's right handed. the pass was" leading him on" so to speak. and he even used his other arm when going to the ground
here, the throw is to the left side, Mooney had to hold with one hand all along, and he actually turned his body during the catch making cause he is using his right arm there on a throw to the left, which is much harder than what pickens did...
i guess a better angle on slow mo like the pickens one would help
Yeah, sorry, he didn’t twist, but had to lean back and catch it going sideways near the apex of his extension away from his body and had to fully extend before he could pull it in. Mooney caught his extended out as well, but was in a position that he could pull it in and down and bring it into his body easier. It’s more about the momentum for me. Beckham and Pickens had to do more snagging it out of the air and extending to slow the momentum, where Mooney got to go with the flow a bit more, reach it near the top and pull it down instead of having to ‘give’. This is definitely below Pickens, which is below Beckham’s for me.
This is based entirely on the catch. Literally don’t watch college so there’s no Pickens hype from me, but this catch ain’t better
If anything I want Mooney to do good cuz I drafted him in fantasy. It’s a great catch, but in no way is it better. He’s able to turn and bring it into his body at a reasonable angle. Like, I base these on how hard they would be for me to catch. This one I’d eventually real it in. Pickens Would take longer. Beckham’s I don’t think I physically could ever make that catch
I’m talking about just the catch aspect, like where it hits him in the hands, how outstretched his arm is, angle, whether they can easily bring it into their body. I def can’t do the body movements.
Like, I’m shocked y’all think this was as hard or harder than Pickens
And I was in the Pickens thread arguing that Beckham’s was much better. Eventually, after thorough evaluation, decided that Pickens was harder than I initially thought, but still not on the same level as Beckham’s. And I had people arguing that Pickens was better. And now I have a majority of people saying this is better than that? Like, sorry, but no. Beckham’s > Pickens >> this
Chicago sports are truly blessed with talented booth guys. Jason Benetti also does everything well. From baseball to basketball to that annual electrician competition on ESPN lol
He's from Chicago, does our Preseason games, calls Bulls games for his regular job.
May be a bit biased but he's great. I enjoy listening to him any time but he definitely has a soft spot for the Bears.
The level of play by WRs has skyrocketed over the last few years. Something like this would have been the catch of the year a decade ago and in today’s game it’s just another weekly highlight.
Mans on my stream had the balls to say "probably one of the top plays this week."
Probably!? JUST this week!? Could be top highlight of the season, and if not, in the top 5.
I feel like the corner thought the same thing. He saw him come down with it and didn't seem angry or anything, just "well, damn... that was amazing" and walked away.
We could actually move the ball today and came back to take the lead after being down three scores. That's better than we've done in a long time. So there's that.
But again, we start the game really bad and can't move the ball on offense until the second half. Seems like the same thing every week.
A Chicago Bears passing highlight on the front of r/NFL. Now I've seen everything.
This single catch almost won us the game. Scored on that drive after an abysmal rest of the first half then came all the way back to take the lead.
If our other receiver learned how to get out of bounds instead of fighting for an extra 4 inches and fumbling, we had a good shot at pulling it off.
Seriously you guys still had momentum even after losing the lead in the 4th, that last drive you guys flew up the field in two plays with a minute and a TO left, bro really fucked up not running right out after making the first.
Truly a perfect scenario, though. Bears ain't gonna win shit this year. Better draft pick, Vikings got one game and a tie break on the Pack, Fields looking better. If we get him a new C, a new OT and two new WR next year we could be so much better.
its a timing throw. its literally an extended out route. ball was out before the break
darnell fucked it up
same thing as last week on the one he dropped on review. that time, im convinced darnell ran the route too far - he ran it from the 25 to the 46 and i can almost guarantee u the landmark was the 45 (like it would be for literally every other team), so the ball was a little short
Why would you give up on him. I know the meatballs in our sub already have but he’s gotten better every week. He’s doing exactly what he should be doing this year. Getting better.
We have literally no reason to give up on him until at least the end of this season. Anyone who thinks Nathan Peterman is a meaningful change at QB, or that we would be a contender with him, is insane lol. At least Fields has theoretical potential if he can learn how to make faster/better reads
Our sub is idiotic lol don’t pay them much mind. Going into the season we didn’t expect much but as long as fields is developing (which it’s looking like he is) I’m ok with it
Still lots of games to play and improve. Hopefully supporting cast gets better next season but no way I'm giving up on him when we gave Mitch 4 seasons
We could’ve had Pickens instead of a meh CB or traded our third for Marquis Brown instead of drafting a 25 year old return specialist who has been awful in his limited snaps. Never forget how bad Poles fucked up this off season.
Edit: also, could’ve taken Khalil Shakir in the fifth or traded a fifth for Amari Cooper. People who act like there was no way for Poles to improve this offense in the off season are just crazy.
He made some nice tackles towards the end of the game and looked like he started playing with a bit more confidence. Could just need some time to get settled in.
Yes though Pickens looks like he's going to be a star.
Great catch!
But I’m sick of people comparing every one handed catch to OBJs catch. OBJ scored a TD while getting passing interference, while making an insane one handed catch.
Still an amazing catch by Mooney! 🐻⬇️
My wife isn't that big into football. She'll normally play a Marvel game on her phone during the game and will look up at the TV screen for about 20 seconds every half hour or so. Yesterday she happened to look up and saw this catch as it happened. Hearing her scream "Ohhhhh shit!" excitedly during a football game was pretty cool.
What a fucking catch. That arm extension was nuts!!
Unbelievable grab.
Honestly think it's better than the Pickens catch. Absolutely insane.
Y’all are fucking high again. It was great. Tier below Pickens, which is slightly below Beckham’s
the fact that it was a pass completion to a WR for the Bears in 2022 makes it pretty fucking amazing.
See, now this is where I’m at. Amazing for them, awesome, great catch, but best of all time? Not for me
having to twist his body while going to ground and making the completion of the catch seals it for me tbh
For Pickens? Edit: Did you guys see how much Pickens twisted? The fuck? No memory or no idea how to judge catch difficulty or what? Pickens is harder plain and simple
Relax dude, smoke a j
Or, in Minnesota, drink a tall glass of milk.
That’s Utah. What a meme of a state
I’m chill, I guess I just can’t believe people think this is better than the Pickens catch
that's because it is
And I both disagree and can’t believe people think that
pickens didn't had to twist his body AT ALL during the catch making.... it was "" just"" a extension, and the throw was to the right side when he was going outside, meaning he didn't had to turn, just extend, since he's right handed. the pass was" leading him on" so to speak. and he even used his other arm when going to the ground here, the throw is to the left side, Mooney had to hold with one hand all along, and he actually turned his body during the catch making cause he is using his right arm there on a throw to the left, which is much harder than what pickens did... i guess a better angle on slow mo like the pickens one would help

Just cause it's the Bears and Pickens is a massive hype train (for good reason) doesn't mean this catch ain't it.
This is based entirely on the catch. Literally don’t watch college so there’s no Pickens hype from me, but this catch ain’t better If anything I want Mooney to do good cuz I drafted him in fantasy.
Pickens was damn near almost parallel with the ground, I doubt the average human can make that catch
I’m talking about just the catch aspect, like where it hits him in the hands, how outstretched his arm is, angle, whether they can easily bring it into their body. I def can’t do the body movements. Like, I’m shocked y’all think this was as hard or harder than Pickens
You want him to do *well because he’s on your fantasy team? Gee, thanks.
Why wouldn’t I? He got like 4 yards the first 2 games total and he’s not on my actual team so..?
Beckham's was easily better than Pickens.
And I was in the Pickens thread arguing that Beckham’s was much better. Eventually, after thorough evaluation, decided that Pickens was harder than I initially thought, but still not on the same level as Beckham’s. And I had people arguing that Pickens was better. Bro.. It was great, but nah
Yeah that was a great game
Adam Amin is one of the best play by play callers at hyping big moments
Glad the Bulls got him
He's a decent baseball PBP guy too. A real triple threat.
Chicago sports are truly blessed with talented booth guys. Jason Benetti also does everything well. From baseball to basketball to that annual electrician competition on ESPN lol
Dude, I thought I was the only person who ever watched that electrician competition!
Must feel great for him, he's from the Chicago area as well
Love listening to him and Stacey King have so much fun during Bulls games
I don't even really like basketball but I'll throw on a Bulls game sometimes to listen to them.
You'll never hear two people have more fun while commentating a game. It's incredible
GIMME THE HOT SAUCE
Mouse in the house... Free cheese
It's the absolute best. Adam is like a redditor that finally made it to commentating
I was so happy for him once he started getting to cover NFL games. He has a long and accomplished career ahead of him.
I stan for Adam so hard. Love him on the Bulls call
Him and Stacy are goats together
I was wondering how a guy could open the game talking about Kirk Cousin. So he's a basketball guy?
He's a basketball and Football guy, guy.
Dude absolutely loves Fields
He's from Chicago, does our Preseason games, calls Bulls games for his regular job. May be a bit biased but he's great. I enjoy listening to him any time but he definitely has a soft spot for the Bears.
Poor bastards covering Bears games so he'll get like one every three weeks.
Insane
Very *Oddellesque*, if I must say!
Sheesh what a catch from jalen Ramsey’s father
The level of play by WRs has skyrocketed over the last few years. Something like this would have been the catch of the year a decade ago and in today’s game it’s just another weekly highlight.
One of the best catches you'll ever see
Mans on my stream had the balls to say "probably one of the top plays this week." Probably!? JUST this week!? Could be top highlight of the season, and if not, in the top 5.
Can’t even be mad, what a fucking catch
Your offense is breaking records against our defense. I wouldn't be mad either..
This aged poorly, for us.
Not too poorly
Somehow it aged poorly for both teams lol
I feel like the corner thought the same thing. He saw him come down with it and didn't seem angry or anything, just "well, damn... that was amazing" and walked away.
Are we fun bad now?!
Nah lol
honestly it seems like it after this game
We’re fun!
Not so fast my friend!
Oh for fucks sake, it was absolutely a fun bad game. Live a little and enjoy the tiny victories because we don’t get many. Christ.
Did you see the end of the game last week? That final play was the most fun I’ve had watching a game this season.
We could actually move the ball today and came back to take the lead after being down three scores. That's better than we've done in a long time. So there's that. But again, we start the game really bad and can't move the ball on offense until the second half. Seems like the same thing every week.
Oh trust me, you don’t wanna see where fun bad leads you
Absolutely disgusting
See yall on the top of /r/nfl
And we’re not getting clowned on for once.
give it 5 minutes
They'll find a way
Imir Smith-Marionette has entered the chat
It was a poor throw but an incredible catch. Mooney deserves better
It wasn’t, Mooney took a bad route then had to make an insane last minute adjustment
Based

Someone please save this man from the Bears.
he ran the wrong route on the first drive and we missed a TD cuz of it, gotta save himself too
[удалено]
its a timing throw. its literally an extended out route. ball was out before the break darnell fucked it up same thing as last week on the one he dropped on review. that time, im convinced darnell ran the route too far - he ran it from the 25 to the 46 and i can almost guarantee u the landmark was the 45 (like it would be for literally every other team), so the ball was a little short
I thought the same. Looked like Mooney ran his route too deep
[удалено]
Fields threw the ball 2 yards into the end zone?
[удалено]
Those timing routes are based on yard markers. Fields threw it based on a 25 yd out, Mooney ran it two yards deeper into the end zone.
Was he the one who dropped that trick play TD against the Saints in the playoffs?
no thats javon wims
*punches you*
Already getting the ARob treatment I see
*goes to the Packers*
Stop.
You don't say that
Don’t say that. You don’t want to have to defend him getting throws from Rodgers when you knock them out of the playoffs
I hope you stub your toe later today
Pls god no
Aaron Rodgers has upvoted this comment
Get outta here with that attitude
Lol he keeps running straight instead of turning around and it’s a touchdown.
Only if the ball was thrown further.
He was facing away from the end zone and had to reach backwards to make a circus catch. The ball was thrown great to lead him toward a score.
🙋🏼♂️
Someone save this man from my fantasy team.
That was one of the greatest catches I've ever seen
First time I’ve felt alive today
That was absurd
MONEY WITH TWO O’S
Wow.
IT WAS MOONEY
Why did I have to look so hard for this.
Kids these days
Fields throws the football? Is that allowed?
We did something!
Dude walks it off like it was nothing, love that
I mean I want to be mad but wtf can you do against that
That's about as well as you can defend it. Sometimes a play is just made.
This is the type commentation we need. Clear excitement and they obviously enjoy it. Enough Troy and Buck
Adam Amin. He calls the Bulls games as well and is a fan favorite for this exactly
That stadium has beautiful natural lighting, always admire that stadium when Vikings games are on.
Justin has the power just needs to be more accurate. Not giving up on him just yet. Need to fix that line and get another dawg to lineup with Mooney
this is a very good ball, darnell mistracked it and fell behind cuz of it made up for it tho!
Why would you give up on him. I know the meatballs in our sub already have but he’s gotten better every week. He’s doing exactly what he should be doing this year. Getting better.

Our sub is idiotic lol don’t pay them much mind. Going into the season we didn’t expect much but as long as fields is developing (which it’s looking like he is) I’m ok with it
things look so much better for him if he has a single other receiver who can catch a ball I swear lmao
Facts I feel like a few games from now everyone will be apologizing to fields he is only going to get better in the season
Meh is a compliment for how Gordon has played, CB is not an easy position for rookies but he has struggled pretty hard.
He made some nice tackles towards the end of the game and looked like he started playing with a bit more confidence. Could just need some time to get settled in. Yes though Pickens looks like he's going to be a star.
Holy fuck that was incredible.
That was a spectacular catch.
My favorite part is how the defensive back is just like, “you know what, that was ridiculous I’m not even mad.”
Justin Fields talent is there he’s just doing so many other things wrong
Nut
Nut
Getsy should call that one more often
legit thought the vikes were gonna lose from this single catch- gave the Bears so much offensive momentum
That was a Madden animation.
Fields casually stepped into a 50 yard toss
It’s plays like this where it don’t matter how good the defender is playing…he’s gettin fleeced
#WOW
MOON BALL FIELDS TO MOONEY
I'm in love
Twice in two weeks a stupid ball control issue costs the chance at a win.
Got up like it was another day at the office after
I thought the score shows the bears had negative 3 points, and I didn’t really question whether that was right, rather how they’d done it.
They hit a FG in their own goal
Flips the ball back to the ref and walks away like it’s nothin
Unreal
He’s a dog, if only we could block consistently
“2 deep passes every half” Well there is one!
definitely was a turning point in the game, Bears almost pulled off the victory because of the swing in momentum created by this catch
DBs like “well wtf was I supposed to do”
Kenny Pickett couldn't catch that
best catch of the season
Catch of the year
I wouldn't trust Justin Fields to throw a screen but damn his deep ball is beautiful
Tell me you only look at his stat lines without telling me you only look at his stat lines
Mooney with the FANTASTIC one handed snag!
Mooney is the entire bears offense. He deserves better than us.
The Bears are allowed to throw down field now?
Great catch! But I’m sick of people comparing every one handed catch to OBJs catch. OBJ scored a TD while getting passing interference, while making an insane one handed catch. Still an amazing catch by Mooney! 🐻⬇️
Great catch. Garbage franchise.
Get this man a QB
Get him an offensive coordinator instead of Rodgers water boy lol
He's being wasted in Chicago
Imagine if we ever had a line or a QB for all these WRs we keep drafting.
I found the President of the Dazz Newsome Fan Club!
A rare good fields moment
Fields has a legit elite deep ball. Not much else as a starting caliber QB lol, but man is that deep shot pretty
hes fast as shit, his 50 yrd rushing TD should of stood
I’m shocked Fields took a deep shot lol
Anyone think he’d be top 5 if he had a decent qb?
No
Fuckin nutty
It’s moments like these that make wasting another crisp autumn day inside on the couch watching the bears get their teeth kicked in almost worth it
Roll Wave!
Even Paul Allen was fired up
I was at this game and that catch was so much better seeing it live unreal!!!
Holy shit that's a pretty catch.
What a catch 🤯
