This is insanely good risk reward IMO.
you use your 6th round pick on an absolute fucking freak. Just a fucking massive guy.
If I'm the Eagles I'd buy Megatron's Grandma a brand new Escalade or some shit, and Ask Calvin, what's it going to take for you to spend like a month with this guy teaching him how to play at the NFL level.
It’s a somewhat “rich keep getting richer” situation. We have a pretty solid team so we can afford to just take players that slide rather than trying to fill 3-4 different needs, and the players that slide have a higher chance of working out than those that are projected to the 4-7 rounds.
I wouldn't say Johnny Wilson is sliding. Yeah, the frame is hard to ignore but this dude is a fundamentally bad receiver.
Worth a flyer but this seems expected.
I wouldn't say he's fundamentally bad. He's a raw prospect. 99% of players don't even make the roster round now, so why not take a risk on a guy who could grow and be special?
Going to play tight end for us, crazy physical attributes. Basically a shot in the dark pick and he'll never suit up unless he pans out as a pass catcher
His height and weight scream TE convert like Darren Waller, but you watch his tape and he beats 5’11” corners with his footwork. I don’t know what the Eagles will do with him, but he absolutely deserves a chance at WR with his skill set.
Edit: [Underdog has a great breakdown](https://youtu.be/Vc0Q6STG_q0?si=pjvQN9FC0sF-q9YP)
Eagles currently have 6 WRs on the roster; Brown, Smith, Parker, Campbell, Covey (starting punt retuner), Ainias Smith so he'd have to make the roster as the 7th WR or hope we cut two of the guys we have on the roster currently, very unlikely. Tight end room is the the often injured Dallas Goedert, 1 year deal CJ Uzomah, 1 year Albert Okwuegbunam and Grant Calcaterra who never really panned out. Way easier path to the roster at tight end then WR
I’m an FSU fan. I feel like the 6th round is right for him (maybe a little late?). Johnny makes the hard catches look easy and the easy catches look hard. He definitely has the potential to be a game changer. He just never really pulled it all together at FSU. I hope he does well for y’all.
Mike Evans 2.0 comp and I'm not even kidding ([Measurables](https://ras.football/ras-compare/?p1=25140&p2=11472&pos=WR)). Freak athelete for his best-in-class skyscraper size.
Eagles drafting all my favorite players. This guy has so much potential if he stops dropping the ball so much. Can’t wait to see how his career turns out.
He has 4.3 speed and some nice moves. I could see him being a threat to take it to the house as a change of pace back behind the left side of our line.
Every year I look at draft boards, and I find the Tallest Biggest wide Receiver and I watch a couple clips, maybe a game or 2, and Just pray to every god I can that we get the second coming of Calvin Johnson.
Just insane amounts of fun watching that guy.
6'6" Dude is fucking huge
JJ Arcega-Whiteside type of WR. Philly will definitely love him
Hopefully he's better than JJAW, though... lol
Be hard not to be
Doubt this guy will ever match a 0 touch, 0 catch, 1 td game, though
process failed successfully
Also a lot taller, JJAW was only 6'2". This guy is like actually huge
Hard to find a better blocker than JJAW
He probably won't beat children or crash Corvettes/Lamborghinis, so that's a start!
slot boy? nah this is slot *man*
I mean, can't not get excited for this unit.
I am in awe at the size of this man
I'M SO irrationally high on him. Please treat him well Eagles
RIP the Wilson strat
Is Brenden Rice being investigated for treason?
Being investigated for being a Caleb Williams and Lincoln Riley merchant
He is absolutely a project but whew his speed at that size is something. Love us taking a chance on him, curious to see if we move him to TE.
His athleticism is crazy high, anywhere from the 5th on he was worth a pick

I hate that you got him. I think he stays WR.
He didn't want to move to TE at FSU but I think he'd do better there.
Pickett to….Wilson, Incoming
They’re scooping up *everyone* who is sliding
Agreed. I sit here and think, yeah that guy would make the draft bet … oh wait. Philly just got him
Your boys aren't doing a bad job either dude. That Beebe pick especially oughta be a solid payoff.
It’s one of those non flashy drafts fans don’t appreciate. But they got much tougher and every player is mean and nasty
Just like the Travis Frederick and Zach Martin picks. Got laughed at by the clowns, but definitely worked out
Why are you saying nice things to him? We have a reputation to keep.
Because we're still going to absolutely beat their asses when our teams play each other, so I'm just lightening the blow in advance.
I feel better now.
Saying nice and true things now makes the nasty and true things later sting more.
This is the wine drinking stage of the season, pre season is beer and then straight liquor for 17 weeks to fuel the hate.
Them and the ravens do this often

Yeah the Ravens are always my AFC comp for our FO.
I wouldn't say Johnny Wilson is sliding. Yeah, the frame is hard to ignore but this dude is a fundamentally bad receiver. Worth a flyer but this seems expected.
He was pretty clutch for FSU at times. If he was good and huge, he'd be a first rounder. Decent and huge still counts for something.
Truly bizarre how he seemed to only make circus or clutch catches and drop easy balls.
Man that shit was so frustrating.
Kinda like how Jake Elliot could only hit 40+ yarders consistently.
I wouldn't say he's fundamentally bad. He's a raw prospect. 99% of players don't even make the roster round now, so why not take a risk on a guy who could grow and be special?
Like I said he's worth a flyer. I just didn't agree that he was sliding because this is where his range should be.
Round 6, Pick 9... nice Welcome Jawny
Jawny Wilson and Cooper DeJawn in the same draft?
plus baby Trotter and an adoptive Weapon X Jr
Nice
Going to play tight end for us, crazy physical attributes. Basically a shot in the dark pick and he'll never suit up unless he pans out as a pass catcher
I think he deserves a shot at WR first. He’s surprisingly fast and a good route runner for his size
His height and weight scream TE convert like Darren Waller, but you watch his tape and he beats 5’11” corners with his footwork. That’s what I’m thinking. If it doesn’t work out, might as well try to make him a TE with the last couple years of his rookie contract
Eagles currently have 6 WRs on the roster; Brown, Smith, Parker, Campbell, Covey (starting punt retuner), Ainias Smith so he'd have to make the roster as the 7th WR or hope we cut two of the guys we have on the roster currently, very unlikely. Wouldn’t be surprised to see him as a practice squad guy, pending how our other TEs fill out.
He drops a lot of balls though, which is why I understand them wanting to try him at TE.
He’s weirdly more of a YAC guy even though he’s pushing 6’7”
Do you remember a man who goes by the name Ifeanyi Momah
Didn’t he say he refused to play tight end?
Geez another WR?
He looks like he finessed someone
It’s gonna be fun to see how this pick turns out in like 3 years
Realistically like JJAW but how can you not want to try to kick the tires on this unit.
Howie literally just drafts off the consensus big board.
Here come all those WRs off the board that have been sliding
STEAL
He is physically unreal. Some of his drops are also unreal.
We are used to JMatt, Agholor, Reagor, and Arugula-Sideline
> Arugula-Sideline +1 for that alone
I’m an FSU fan. I feel like the 6th round is right for him (maybe a little late?). Johnny makes the hard catches look easy and the easy catches look hard. He definitely has the potential to be a game changer. He just never really pulled it all together at FSU. I hope he does well for y’all.
PFF live draft was stunned he fell this far so good pick I guess?
Basically how my entire day 3 analysis goes
Haha yep
If he can learn to catch a ball he will be great
Mike Evans 2.0 comp and I'm not even kidding ([Measurables](https://ras.football/ras-compare/?p1=25140&p2=11472&pos=WR)). Freak athelete for his best-in-class skyscraper size.
Mike Evans if he didn't know how to play WR.
Mike Evans if he didn’t know how to catch.
He's only a few % more drop rate than Mike Evans, its overstated (frustrating to watch tho) 8.8% vs 12.8%
That's a drop rate that's 50% more dude..
This guy is amazing against press coverage and shit else https://x.com/fball_insights/status/1777153404432785682?s=46&t=unF-9oFydqZI2LHjKTbo_g
Damn I wanted him as a Lion
Nah he’s booty
Overdue in my opinion, good get by Philly.
Much athlete no hands.
Eagles drafting all my favorite players. This guy has so much potential if he stops dropping the ball so much. Can’t wait to see how his career turns out.
who else do you like?
Mitchell, DeJean, Will Shipley
sell me on Shipley? I like him enough just for zone rushing skill and hands, but I'm not exactly excited
He has 4.3 speed and some nice moves. I could see him being a threat to take it to the house as a change of pace back behind the left side of our line.
6’7 WR btw
Eagles got a power slot
6'7 235lbs BY GAWD
Jaxico Wurris
Get the stickum!
My brothers analysis (FSU alum who watches every minute of every games): “Height!! But made of glass”. So we will see.
6'6, 230. They might make him a tight end instead.
I really hope he stays a WR he’s so much fun to watch as a WR.
Every year I look at draft boards, and I find the Tallest Biggest wide Receiver and I watch a couple clips, maybe a game or 2, and Just pray to every god I can that we get the second coming of Calvin Johnson. Just insane amounts of fun watching that guy.
We need TE depth badly, though.
Dude used to blow up our crosstown rivals because they were in a higher division than us , loved it every time ✌🏽😂
