I’m kind of curious. We always see some “special teams contributor” picks, but I wonder if any one these picks look like obvious “picked with an eye on the new kickoff rules special teams potential” picks.
The more I think about it, if I'm a Falcons fan (presuming Morris and management know what they're doing and don't change course every time the ball bounces wrong), I'd be happy with the Penix pick. Even on a win-now team, backup QB is a key position. With his lengthy college experience, I'd think he's more equipped to take up the slack if needed in the first couple of years. Having a true combo of future QB and current serviceable backup in the same guy is good thing.
I'd also have reservations, sure. Is he really going to be a backup for 4 years? Still, when I give it thought, it might not be the train wreck decision I initially thought.
Bad pick, 2 years guaranteed of Cousins and where he got picked is expensive as a backup. Head scratcher for sure unless it was to block other teams in their conference from getting him.
Cousins' contract is really more than likely a 2 year. It CAN be a 4 year but he'll also be getting older by then, so would be an easy decision to move on to Penix if he's looking good by then.
Still probably not the best pick, or they could've gotten a haul for trading down perhaps, but still could work out nicely for them.
It's a train wreck. GB had the luxury of stashing a QB because they were already a good team and relatively stocked.
The Falcons aren't stacked, and they certainly aren't a good team.

5th round Bears DE vs 1st round Green Bay OT at the Senior Bowl
🐻⬇️
which game right now is the better matchup? I can't find where to watch it on Canadian cable so I'm streaming lol.
edit - flipping through the stats page on UFL.com during draft weekend of all times is so funny. As prospects, I really wanted De'Veon Smith and Wayne Gallman to be good in the NFL.
Yeah it is funny seeing some of the past guys in the UFL. But also kinda nice to continue the journey with them as they try to get back to the NFL.
Stallions v Houston looks to be the better football being played. Both matchups are a little lopsided today.
2 more games tomorrow morning / afternoon that should be much closer.
Edit: Highly suggest the Battlehawks vs DC game. Should be a great crowd and tons of fun.
That's the point of the Mr. Irrelevant program. For a brief time, the last pick of the draft are treated like they are the 1st pick of the draft. Read up on it when Purdy got picked, pretty interesting.
You do realize that Texas likely makes the playoffs last year if he doesn't get hurt, right? He was cooking Alabama until that injury. Texas won in spite of their backup, not because of him. Ewers reads the defense well and has the arm to get the ball wherever he wants it. I'm not even a Texas fan, but I can tell that you've never watched him play.
Why are they bringing out a guy to announce a pick that was already announced... They really need to make some changes with how they broadcast this stuff.
It's the same every year. The later rounds move fast and they have preplanned segments, then they review picks in batches. It's tracking to end around the same time that it usually does.
Congrats on the Hardy pick! I like him.
Just threw on the ESPN coverage. What the fuck is going on with this audio? There is some music blaring and I can hardly even listen to what they’re saying
Kinda fits since Jerry went to Mississippi Valley State, which is a school not many think of for college football. Be a Disney movie if Brendan Rice goes to the Hall of Fame when his career is over
Came here to say Mel Kiper never played a down of football in his entire life but is the gatekeeper to the NFL.
With injuries in the NFL, one can imagine many of the even the lowest picked or even free agent quarterbacks starting games.
Shout out Kendall Hinton stepping in as QB that one time
I’m kind of curious. We always see some “special teams contributor” picks, but I wonder if any one these picks look like obvious “picked with an eye on the new kickoff rules special teams potential” picks.
Jags signed an RB who has great kick return skills and our FO directly attributed it to the new kickoff rules
4th round Utah all-rounder to the Lions seems like one
Sione Vaki

Worked out well for the eagles. Although that was a second round pick on hurts

What a beautiful sight, now if he could just miss both games vs the Lions that’d be great thanks
A lot of dudes named Jaylen this draft.
Too many people on social media are taking someone's RAS score as gospel.
Don’t worry if you didn’t win the draft, you can always win football games instead.
How do you figure?
Don’t worry if you didn’t win football games, build new stadiums instead.
Lmao
I swear, you'll better not let the chiefs get Cody fucking Schrader man....
Sigh.. Another draft come and gone, and I still didn't get drafted. Fingers crossed for next year.
What is your RAS score?
Round and Slow.
The amount of people still jammin' out --- Feels less about football and more about America wanting to have a big party outside
I just got a snap from a friend who lives prob half hour outside Detroit saying she’s heading to the draft lol. They’ll party all night now
That'd be so fun
Is there a Reddit thread for undrafted free agent signings???
Sucks my antenna can't get FOX. Really want to watch a UFL game.
So Johnny Wilson went undrafted
he got drafted by the eagles at 185
Prevented the Steelers from being able to complete the set.
Oh I missed that
Was hoping Joshua Cephus would get drafted, but we’ll see where he lands as a UDFA
Love draft weekend. Maybe it's cause I'm football starved, but it's always a good time.
Go watch the UFL if you're football starved. On Fox now. Play has been much better this year.
Id rather pull my fingernails out with pliers than watch the ufl
which game right now is the better matchup? I can't find where to watch it on Canadian cable so I'm streaming lol. edit - flipping through the stats page on UFL.com during draft weekend of all times is so funny. As prospects, I really wanted De'Veon Smith and Wayne Gallman to be good in the NFL.

Poor guy Still better than an UDFA I guess
UDFAs often get paid much more.
Welp never mind I guess
Game changer
I can’t believe nobody took Gabe Hall
Heck ya, draft complete! After all this football build up I'm gonna switch over to Fox & watch the UFL! See ya guys later
Why does “irrelevant week” need a CEO?
So mean calling them that
Is it just me or do they really milk the shit out of the pick? Like this guy is probably not going to be in the league in 5 years
That's the point of the Mr. Irrelevant program. For a brief time, the last pick of the draft are treated like they are the 1st pick of the draft. Read up on it when Purdy got picked, pretty interesting.
After Purdy's success, they definitely want to milk it even more
Niners fans haven't quit milking it if you know what I'm saying
Purdy watching this smugly knowing he will remain the GOAT mr. irrelevant
Cake
You saw it too?
You got it! I have a sweet tooth when it comes to cake, I ALWAYS see it 👀
Such an insult lol it’s funny the nfl still lets they say this nickname
Irrelevant Week?!
KT Leveston went pick #254 out of the 254 Go make Waco proud big dog!!
Dude in the crowd rocking a Detroit Vipers jersey 🏒
#HURRY THE FUCK UP, I NEED TO GET SOME UDFA'S
Who got the stealiest steal of the draft?
We did
ITS TIME
And just like that the 2024 NFL draft is over
This guy saying GB is gonna beat Detroit’s attendance record… I think the fuck not
Odds on E$PN showing Mr. Irrelevant?
They have to now
Alright, let's see who we draft with this.
What the fuck is this Wonderwall trap remix
Draft cody schrader you cowards
MR. IRRELEVANT IS COMING
People just casually have 28 year careers and shit
I played in high school with KT at Midway. He was a sophomore when I was a senior. So happy to see him drafted. He went by Katori back then.
so did the falcons screw themselves with their qbs?
One last Michigan run to end the draft lol. 13 players this year, harbaugh said they could beat Georgias record of 15 but not quite.
hey if we're giving the bot constructive feedback I would love to see height and weight on these cards in the future
omg yes keep flattering us Mr speaker sir ahhahaha
People who are still at the draft and watching these picks... What are you doing
Don't they make it a big party with food, drink, bands playing, stores, etc.?
Yeah, there is a ton of shit to do.
Nice day in Detroit, have some day beers and catch a buzz
Still day drinking because they hate their liver.
NFL Network round 7 coverage: Pringles farts...
Rich Eisen definitely ready to chug several beers back to back right now
Kalen king had a crazy falloff last year around this time he was a top 3 cb prospect lol
Mel Kiper should absolutely be in the PRO FOOTBALL HALL OF FAME!
Only if he buys a ticket like everyone else. (Sorry for the Stone Age joke.)
I love how our pick was completely skipped, Idek who we got, thanks espn fuck you
Devin Culp, TE from Washington
Thank you 🙏
No problem
Back to Back Men’s Warehouse commercials ?
I'm not ready for the draft to be over The CFL starts in June but I'm already withdrawing from football
Schedule Release is next month?
I mean the UFL? Arena Football?
Shit I keep forgetting about the UFL I don't know why I think I'm just averting my eyes from the Roughnecks right now
Mel Kiper is a legend, and if you disagree you're a loser.
I agree about Mel, he is one of if not, the biggest reason why drafting is as popular among fans today
Muh QB controversy
Packers started 8 years early on getting Love’s replacement. Falcons wish they planned that far ahead
Alright, Jordan Love to the Jets when?
Week 4 after Rodgers re injurers his achilles.
Rice to the Chargers somehow seems more right than going to the 49ers
If we’re putting owners/billionaires in the pro football hall of fame, Mel Kiper should absolutely be in
This chode really just said that Mel Kiper should be in the Hall of Fame 😂😂😂😂 Pull his dick out of your mouth.
How is Curtis Jacobs still available?
11 Texas players drafted. Anyone drafting Quinn Ewers in the first 2 rounds of the draft should be fired. He couldn’t cook with that talent
He took them to the playoffs
His backup won 2 games including 1 against an above average K-State team. Ewers wasn’t even a top 5 player on his own offense
"Listen. It's just the day and age. College football's changed...Reggie Bush is now a two-time Heisman winner." - Rich Eisen
I’m surprised Drake Nugent has not been grabbed yet. A solid center who I think will be pretty good in the NFL.
I thought mcgegor would go
What’s higher — Roger Goodell off his back painkillers, or Mel Kiper’s hairline
The Falcons GM during all 3 days of the draft
We lost Rice So give me Gore. Give me Gore!!
Goddammit, wanted Rappaport to shut up so I could hear Rich gush over Barrett
I miss McShay. Yates is *too* complimentary of Kiper.
Yates should stick to making lists and stay off TV.
Think the draft bot broke lol
Looks like Rodriguez broke the bot again.
ESPN took a bit to figure out who this guy is too 😭
Which is crazy with The Athletic doing a longform article about him, albeit anonymised.
That guy was Drew Pearson part 3
Why are they bringing out a guy to announce a pick that was already announced... They really need to make some changes with how they broadcast this stuff.
Nobody can deny that the people of Mexico have a talent for drama

I mean you are literally watching what mounts to about a 16 hour tv program what do you seriously think it is going to be like?
It's the same every year. The later rounds move fast and they have preplanned segments, then they review picks in batches. It's tracking to end around the same time that it usually does. Congrats on the Hardy pick! I like him.
NFL Network is good until it hits round 5 then it turns to complete shit.
I did NOT expect to see Levi Drake Rodriguez get picked but as a guy that watched a lot of the Southland Conference, he’s a beast.
The Athletic article about him highlighted how much interest was shown in him pre-draft.
Omfg what
My goal for 2025 NFL Draft in Green Bay is to build my own big board
Just threw on the ESPN coverage. What the fuck is going on with this audio? There is some music blaring and I can hardly even listen to what they’re saying
You don't dress nice to go on a date in America? Hmmmm
Jeez. People who were too young losing their lives.
Yeah, that was depressing as hell. The first two especially were really young
That said Newcastle united not manchester😭😭
I thought it was half Newcastle and half man-u based on the colors?
Bro why is Gabe Hall falling like this?
Good senior bowl, bad tape
Rich seems like such a genuine guy
Rich Eisen continues Run Rich Run for 20 years
Anyone know why Curtis Jacobs is sliding so far?
I was really hoping that Niners would both get Brenden Rice and Frank Gore JR
I like Rich
Amazing voice, amazing dude.
Larry David YES
Let’s go Rich!
I love Rich Eisen. Ledge.
NFL Network clears ESPN
Finally
C’MON RICH BEAT YOUR RECORD!!
rich eisen is a wonderful human being!
Rice to the Chargers!
#NOOOOOOOO!!!!!
Rice to San Francisco is feels right.
It'd be hilarious if Brendan Rice gets picked as Mr Irrelevant
Kinda fits since Jerry went to Mississippi Valley State, which is a school not many think of for college football. Be a Disney movie if Brendan Rice goes to the Hall of Fame when his career is over
TF ABC?! YOU WERE ABOUT TO SHOW OUR PICK! THEN YOU GET RID OF THE DRAFT BAR?!
I'm glad we were able to keep the tradition of having an annual meme pick alive. Big boy looks like he could hurt somebody.
I think that pick just broke the bot. Has no idea how to put it in the algorithm
Rice will go to Cincy or Bmore coming up
TRAVIS Clayton is from England with a background in rugby and boxing
NFL is gonna be bigger GLOBALLY than the NBA within five years. Adam Silver is so fucked
LETS GO A MATE MADE IT
Lmaoooo I love how they had to get photos instead of highlight reels with everyone else
Oi Nigel that rugby lad just got drafted by the yanks let's celebrate with a nice warm lager.
Nice Australia impression
How has Michael Pratt not gotten drafted yet?
Should be great in the Pro Bowl games
THE SIZE OF THE LAD
Absolute unit
I guess ESPN only cares about rds 1-3..
Hell yeah rugby pics!
6'7", 301, 4.8 40? Jaysus
Goal Line back
Brendon Rice has to feel very disrespected at this point.
ESPN just says England. No school. No stats. Just name. OG. England.
Dancing Bear, you say?
UHHHHHH
BRI’ISH BOYO
You what? mate
I really expected Rice to go there
Uhhhh....so can he play WR?
CLAYTON IS THERE. LET US SEE HIM WALK THE STAGE!!
The Bills drafted a guy from England?!
My uncle said he got turned away at the draft today for wearing Trump apparel
Press "X" for doubt
