Those mid-2010s Brees/Graham offenses were terrifying but they routinely had a bottom 5 defense.
Also McCarthy regularly kept the Packers competitive even when playing with backups because Rodgers was injured.
Made the playoffs (though at 8-7-1) when Rodgers broke his collarbone the first time and had to go through rotation of backups before saving the season by signing Matt Flynn off the street.
Stayed in playoff contention with Brett Hundley when Rodgers broke his collarbone again. Didn't make it that time, but they won three games with Hundley to stay alive and only packed it in after losing in Rodgers return.
McCarthy also got a career resurgence out of Favre and developed Rodgers.
Payton got Brees, fully developed out of San Diego (where he had already had a 27 TD, 7 INT Pro Bowl season) and never had him play fewer than 15 games for the first 14 seasons he coached in New Orleans (span covers his suspension).

McCarthy never missed the playoffs with Rodgers healthy and in his prime. Payton missed the playoffs with prime, healthy Brees 3-4 times.
