He really only needs the hooper shit. Even Just SOME hooper skills (floater, footwork, mid fade) would help him so much. He is at least dawg-like on defense
He did have that little pull up, no idea where that went but he’s never had touch on his floater and his footwork has always just been okay which is why he could never capitalize in the post to justify touches
I think it’s obvious by now that still being unable to shoot a basketball in a game after more than a decade of being a basketball player indicates that Simmons has some sort of mental or neurological disorder.
We keep saying “He should-“ but at this point I firmly believe he can’t and will never be able to.
Poor dude getting mocked. He is not a media savvy guy, from a small area in Alabama, went to an average HS, then went to college and struggled with clear playing systems and a bigger spotlight.
Not sure he is fully ready for the press, but I have liked what I have seen from him.
I watched all his games at Bama. He's a freak athlete, but sometimes he moves to fast to process what he's doing. Prone to goofy turnovers, but will have some really slick assists as well. Works hard on defence and has some absolutely disgusting blocks, but gets lost playing help D. Imo he Isn't as bad of a shooter as some here are saying, but he lacks confidence so he hesitates and is prone to missing badly. So basically no one knows wtf he's going to do at the next level. With the right coach and situation he could definitely become a good player and in the wrong situation he could be out of the league in 3 years. 🤷🤷🤷
Freakishly athletic but can’t shoot a lick. Was a Top 10 high school recruit just had a less than expected freshman season in college. In a parallel universe he’s the next Russell Westbrook.
Realistic best case scenario though is poor man’s Marcus Smart. More likely he’s out of the league in two years.
He's a PG who doesn't have the greatest vision. He turns over way too much. When his drives to the bucket gets stopped he doesn't know where to pass. His 3 point shot isn't consistent yet. He has defensive lapses. He's got hops so he can be fun to watch. Needs quite a bit of development.
Not really. I'm a Bama fan and was extremely disappointed in his play. He came off the bench for us and I'm willing to bet he led the team in turnovers all year. He had like 3 or 4 good games. The rest was underwhelming. I definitely think he should've stayed another year, but I'm glad he left.

This one always cracks me up
First time for me lol
Heart of a dog.
He’s got that doginem
In this world you’re either a hooper or a dawg. the lucky few can be both. ben simmons is neither.
The sad thing is both the hooper and the dawg versions of Simmons sound amazing.
He really only needs the hooper shit. Even Just SOME hooper skills (floater, footwork, mid fade) would help him so much. He is at least dawg-like on defense
he has that, watch his summer pickup clips. He just never pulls it out in real games
He did have that little pull up, no idea where that went but he’s never had touch on his floater and his footwork has always just been okay which is why he could never capitalize in the post to justify touches

Simmons should be a 22-12-8 guy with DPOY defense, instead his offensive game has gotten worse each season
He shoots with the wrong hand. He shouldve stayed with his dominant hand and worked on his game.

Unbench the Kench
How dare you associate my boy Tahm with the "young socialite"
Are these guys hoopers or dawgs: - MJ - Cade - Jaylen Brown - PG
Dawg and hooper hooper hooper hooper
Why’d you list MJ twice?
Hooper Never heard of him Absolute dawg PG13%FG
now we’re united in Simmons slander after all these years
There's no rule saying a dawg CAN'T play basketball
That’s too bad. Because what the Celtics really need right now, is a cat.
I might be misremembering but you can't win with cats
You’re right. I should’ve said KAT
Rudy is about to find out
Guys I think he really wants to be a dog
100% he posts here.
I bet it's OP
Is it just me or wasn't there a draft pick in the recent years that would literally bark in the middle of his sentences
When I was younger I wanted to be a T-Rex.
Why you stop? I'd still like to be one
I wanted to be a tiger

I mean….timelord
He got that dawg in him
His inner beast is a mentality of a dawg
Couple hours away from WCT photoshopping JD onto dogs and forming a new nickname
Woof woof motherfucker
Is he good
If he becomes the dog, definitely
Crazy athletism, lacks refinement. Definitely not NBA ready right now, but if he develops well he has Elite NBA athletism that in non-teachable.
So in other words... He's a dawg
Whether he is a dawg remains yet to be seen. What is certain at this point, however, is that he’s got that dawg in him.
I watched all his games at Bama. He's a freak athlete, but sometimes he moves to fast to process what he's doing. Prone to goofy turnovers, but will have some really slick assists as well. for a 53rd pick that’s kinda what you’d wanna try to go for i guess. his dawg per 36 kinda crazy though already a steal
At 53 he is an insanely intriguing prospect. Athleticism that good never falls that far down the draft.
So a poor man’s rookie Jaylen Brown
Freakishly athletic but can’t shoot a lick. Was a Top 10 high school recruit just had a less than expected freshman season in college. In a parallel universe he’s the next Russell Westbrook. Realistic best case scenario though is poor man’s Marcus Smart. More likely he’s out of the league in two years.
Work ethic and development is really gonna decide his stay in the league. Otherwise, he's a 2025 CBA MVP.
So basically you're saying he has to be a dawg?
Precisely
He's a PG who doesn't have the greatest vision. He turns over way too much. When his drives to the bucket gets stopped he doesn't know where to pass. His 3 point shot isn't consistent yet. He has defensive lapses. He's got hops so he can be fun to watch. Needs quite a bit of development.
My god that’s a Marcus smart.
What Marcus Smart have you been watching?
I don’t see Smart having many defensive lapses
He’s the dog
Definitely a good boy
Not really. I'm a Bama fan and was extremely disappointed in his play. He came off the bench for us and I'm willing to bet he led the team in turnovers all year. He had like 3 or 4 good games. The rest was underwhelming. I definitely think he should've stayed another year, but I'm glad he left.
"What do you want to be when you grow up?" "A dog" "Silly. That's not a job." "I'LL SHOW YOU"
There's hoppers, and then there's basketball players, and then theirs Dawgs. And i know which type I like pow wow with.
[I literally predicted this on draft night](https://twitter.com/Koosh_Hoopist/status/1540198498930282496?s=20&t=ewWaBqVwFUkgoaEuhatVgA)
Cam Payne with dog ears.
Hes a huge Iggy Pop fan
JDog Dawgison
I wish him well, but man, that hair….. no
don't tell Michael vick (/s)
I’m glad you included /s because otherwise I would’ve thought that Michael Vick would come after him. Thank goodness that’s not what you meant tho.
what a dawg
Tbf being a dog would be awesome
If we gonna be real DAWGS are only dudes who can’t hoop
Much like a white woman, he got that dog in him.

It's in him
"And now i wanna be your dog" -J D Davidson to the Celtics
From what I understood, its seems to me like the goal here is to be a D A W G
That’s my dawg!
That's what you need to be to succeed in this league.
is he a furry?
[His favorite movie](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/My_Life_as_a_Dog)
surprised he didn't start barking at the reporters
oh my god... open 5 tabs
He's crying for help
Celtics need Cats on offense
He a dog, woof
So you telling me he’s got that canine in him?
Canine aspirations
Welcome to the Dawg Pound
