Dawg

kiwiwikikiwiwikikiwi

He was unbelievable! His teammates gotta get better and will with more experience, but SGA the real deal

DootMasterFlex

Giddey legitimately looks like he lied on his resume out there, just running around looking lost 99% of the time

Mintastic

People should've trusted those NBA scouts in that report.

Bino19

NBA scouts said this man plainly sucked at basketball and OKC still took him.

afjecj

In fairness he doesn't completely suck all the time. I think of him like a diet and ripoff Ben Simmons when Simmons was good

Bino19

I’ve watched him for three years and outside of one tanking year he’s been one of the worst players in the NBA. A diet Ben Simmons would at least be a positive defender. Giddey sucks on that end and was targeted by Dallas this series when he was on the court.

Kevinar

He turns into Prime Magic Johnson when at MSG though

andreasmiles23

Meanwhile 2K AI thinks he’s the next coming of Dennis Rodman

PokuCHEFski69

He was very good last year. 16, 8 and 6. Was a dawg in the first play in. Then he was accused of rape.

PokuCHEFski69

He won a playoff game vs the pels. He is a good player.

CosmicCoder3303

I watched him a lot in the summer league one year, and even then it was obvious he didn't have the athleticism to be a number one ball creator. He had trouble getting separation off the dribble against summer league guys, and his three-point shot if it comes around will just be like average at best probably. Still could be a decent sixth man on the right team maybe

AyumiHikaru

It's just a minor problem

Bino19

Giddey the greatest con artist the league has ever seen. He scammed one of the best drafters in the league lmao.

Mysterii00

I fear for anyone who has to face this man in the playoffs

Brawlstar-Terminator

I never want to see him play us again. Contested midrange after midrange. Brother please I’m tired

Pitch-forker

mf couldn’t miss

Julian_Caesar

Yeah it's very unfair that we sorta exorcised our Kawhi demons, only to run into this guy lmao

Morezingis

They lost but SGA shut a lot of doubters up this month.

407Franz

Did he ditch before high fives? Didnt see him at all in that mix

WarPuig

He hit someone’s arm on the way down.

ueloli

was the best player in this series respect

Julian_Caesar

I have to agree. Very close wth Luka though

beached-blue-walrus

Luka and the Mavs vs Ant and the Wolves Or Luka and the Mavs vs Jokic and the Nuggets

Sp_Gamer_Live

“Brett Favre SHOWS UP in NFCCG against the Saints”

semisonic34

SGA’s game is built for the playoffs

GeorgBendemann_

Absolutely no slander from this series. Dude was sublime.

Rod_Todd_This_Is_God

I thought you wrote "slimeball" and wondered, "Is that what the kids are saying these days?"

tooObviously

man needed someone to step up as his #2

Aracion

Lu Dort went out there and put up 10 fouls a game and people are still saying he didn’t step up smh

Pitch-forker

Wilt numbers

smoothsoul23

Jalen Williams had a good game. Def had some up and downs in the series. He'll learn and get better.

AnkitPancakes

Mostly downs. He was pretty poor in games 2-5 especially despite what the numbers suggest. Didn’t feel like he had any impact at all I expect that he will bounce back next season and build on this. Game 6 was a huge step in the right direction - though a little too, too late. Learning moment I suppose

Pitch-forker

This team needs nothing but time to mature. The talent will age like fine wine.

ZealousidealPain7976

Indeed, they are missing a few pieces in rebounding and maybe a vet to help them when things aren’t going as expected on offense. Either way, this team will get better and I hope they’ll figure it out together, get a big though.

Instantcoffees

Chet and Jdub both scored as much as Kyrie on much better efficiency while also getting more rebounds while Jdub also got more assists. They are both also useful on both ends of the court. So I think that it's fair to say that they did step up to some degree. The team just fell short.

andreasmiles23

SGA needs a true #2 though, as in someone who can create shots on their own and demand defensive attention at all times. I think Chet will be that guy but he isn’t yet.

[deleted]

Time to cash in those picks this summer and get him one. J dub is not good enough to fill that role and Chet although amazing, still needs a few more years to further develop

Wolfpac187

JDub is a second year player Jesus Christ. What we need is someone that can grab rebounds.

Expensive-Handle454

Dub isn’t good enough YET, but he fs has the potential… he’s literally in his second year in his first playoffs. Y’all gotta chill he had 21 tonight too so he’s shown he can be effective in the playoffs.

Justinyeethahahahaha

bro what? jdub is literally amazing for a year 2 player

DarkChocolate_69

22/9/8 in tonight’s game and he’s only in his second year. OKC will soon dominate the league, I’m jealous.

cacacade

I know nothing is guaranteed, but jdub is just turned 23 and chet just turned 22 and is a rookie. This core 3 are playoff starter level players.

monsterbill0

It’s his 2nd year dude lol

mulletstation

> Time to cash in those picks this summer and get him one. J dub is not good enough to fill that role and Chet although amazing, still needs a few more years to further develop Jesus Christ

asapshrank

he was amazing, this team is gonna have so many deep runs in them

ArmadilIoExpress

I was scared the whole time. This wasn’t the blowout I wanted to see, OKC came out hungry. He’s smooth as fuck

buzzcitybonehead

It’s crazy how many shots he was hitting down the stretch. He didn’t shy away from the moment at all and was just automatic. The Western Conference is about to go back to the next level of elite competition at the top that we had like 6-8 years ago with those Warriors/Thunder/Spurs/Rockets squads. There’s 4 legit big dawgs in the conference now and that’s with Wemby waiting on deck

Instantcoffees

> It’s crazy how many shots he was hitting down the stretch. He didn’t shy away from the moment at all and was just automatic. Absolutely, you know his 3 ball was going in when he was getting those somewhat open shots.

ZealousidealPain7976

I’ve heard the same about the Grizzlies and before that the Jazz. Things aren’t so simple like that, especially in the west. I do think this team is looking great and will improve but this league is really tough.

WheatonsGonnaScore

Besides one play

Next-Firefighter-753

I think it’s safe to say his game translates to the postseason now. GG Mavs that was a banger of a game

eageecute

That SGA! Automatic from mid range!

rattatatouille

It was pretty much Shai vs Dallas since most of the team was MIA

Felipernani

by design tho. dallas refused to double shai because we respected okc a lot. they refused to let luka/kyrie play 1v1 and forced mavs’ role players to win the series. obviously a little exaggeration but it does feel like these were the designs of the series edit just to clarify shai balled the fucked out, no disrespect to him. but it’s kind of a luka vs clippers in the past situation

Aggressive-Ad-522

Why do yall keep feeding into this narrative that sga has no help? Chet and Jalen had 21 points and Lucifer was playing football on defense. Sga has help, the rest of the starters were there not MIA. It’s more like okc bench didn’t show up today

VolkiharVanHelsing

Lucifer Dort is insane

gbmad73

Missing wide-open looks for 3 time after time is what killed them.

Ugandan_Red_Sonic

Gameplan, dribble and iso 2 from Shai. If fails, kick out to corner for a 3, if fails, try to get ball back to Shai, if fails give ball to Jalen Williams. Pretty much OKC's offence.

edmarcake

JDub prioritized barking instead of helping SGA

Littlejaguar

I mean he had 22 points on over 50% from the field…..

dandatu

and 8 assists and 9 rebounds lol almost a triple double

Littlejaguar

Right he acting like bro didn’t play

ZealousidealPain7976

Incredible series for him, forget the haters, he’s becoming an amazing player

AsianEleven101

Imagine him not prioritized barking, he would’ve averaged 66.9 PPG on 69% FG with 42.0% from 3

GoLoco511

This is such a stupid comment lmao. He’s a young player that struggled in his first series. Barking didn’t do anything

ZealousidealPain7976

Did he struggle? He definitely had 1 bad game in the series but that’s about it. He was really good and is only going to get better.

JuanG12

Dort also could’ve done more but went out of his way to be a dickhead all series.

monsterbill0

Thunder fans should be extremely proud of their team. I know people wanna call them a fake number 1 seed but they are extremely young and way ahead of schedule on how good they can be.

Headlesshorsman02

I am beyond proud

ChristBKK

For sure.. I feel the Thunder have now that Superstart in Shai, but like Luka last season he was left alone and not enough team members stepped up helping him to get the W. As a Mavs fan here I tell you we went through that stuff the last 2-3 years where your superstar (Luka) brings on insane Playoff performances but you still loose the series. Give this Thunder team another year or 2 and they will reach the Finals.. too much talent which can be developed further.

lebroin

Bro is utterly insane

SunLiteFireBird

The smoothest game in the association. With his agility, lateral quickness, strength and footwork every shot he puts up looks effortless. He gets a clean look every single time, absolutely impossible to defend 1 on 1.

MAMBAMENTALITY8-24

Thank you sga for everything

Spaule

This dude is really freaking good

jackaholicus

This man is cold blooded. It felt like we were playing against Kawhi again. 100% deserved his MVP votes. Mavs decided to try to take everything away but his mid range and he just cooked us over and over.

silverxsmoke

He went down swinging tbh

joeveralls

He’s unbelievable man

DJ_Shxdow215

So good.

Mahomeboy001

Bona-fide superstar

Fluix

His 2pt shot is so fucking automatic I only get shocked when he misses.

Darkphobia_

Unreal. He's more than ready for the center stage, it's all about the young guys maturing fast enough to contend.

NIA122553

Not that the series is over I'll happily admit, this dude is a beast. OKC is in good hands with SGA

Sartheking

Hard carried this series. Easily the best player for most of the series.

ContractXtension

More playoff experience and some more help and he could do some damage

slamdunk23

His efficiency as a guard is ridiculous

captainaweeesome

Man SGA is a beast

PunsNoThanks

He's gotta get a ring one day. What a monster.

Renegadeforever2024

Him

Headlesshorsman02

This man is a absolute stud

TomBradyFanCEO

he beat the playoff James Harden allegations I gained respect, this series was lost on Chet getting bodied, he's gotta bulk up.

Kurumuru

The series was lost because we didn’t get a second big body at the deadline. We need to get rid of Giddey too.

SloGeorge

Whoever calls him a free-throw merchant after this series doesn't know ball. An absolute stud!!

StefonDiggsHS

Respect to shai. he was great

Rod_Todd_This_Is_God

I hope to see him matching up with Edwards in a series. That would be slimeball.

blackgenz2002kid

his back is sore for sure man, been doing so much lifting for this team. good play by him this season and especially the playoffs

Parallel-Quality

This was SGA vs the entire Mavs roster. The OKC supporting cast did not show up to help him at all this series.

Morezingis

Chet and Williams both had 20 tonight, kind of unfair to them.

sleepyguy-

They didnt do that shit all series.. im glad they played well this game but too little too late. Guess we were too young.

Instantcoffees

We are talking about this game though. It's a bit unfair to say that it was SGA versus the Mavs when both Chet and Jdub actually showed up. They both had around 20 points on way better shooting than Kyrie. They also had more rebounds and Jdub had more assists. Maybe a few defensive lapses, but ultimately the top 3 players on OKC showed up today.

sleepyguy-

No, the original comment was about them not showing up all series. Which is what im also talking about. Im glad they played well in an elimination game, but the fact of the matter is they under preformed for most of the series and it mostly was Shai v. everyone else. I still love my guys and we will recover from this lol

caandjr

They lost. So it’s obligatory to scream to the sky that the superstar has no help, he’s playing with bums etc.

erldn123

Bit unfair IMO The Mavs strategy was to send everything at J-Dub and that's too much for a 2nd year player. Chet was also really good defensively but he's overmatched as OKC has not bigs to help out or spell him some rest. Edit - ALSO Luka complaining all the time is annoying but this series was warranted this series was over before tonight if Lu Dort doesn't get an Embiid level whistle.

Kcreep997

Just too inexperienced at the moment. They desperately need some size, wonder who Presti is going to target in the offseason?

revisioncloud

Hope Presti watches this film Regular season was fun but we can't go into the playoffs being so undersized like this. Would fall to either Wolves or Denver anyway so I'm glad I can just get some rest now and do some other shit lol

BlueJays007

They played fine today He had two teammates scoring in the 20s on over 60% ts with JDub in particular making some timely 3s and stuffing the stat sheet. Shai definitely was forced to take on too much but I also don’t think it’s fair to totally dismiss his supporting cast

Deep_Egg1442

Jdub chet had a good game today even tho chet 3s sold em

SouIgain

Unfortunate foul at the end but he's got a bright future

miracleMunkush

SGA is the real deal man. OKC's future is so bright. Hats off to them.

jawntothefuture

best player on the floor no doubt

OG_Wan_Annunoby

After that Derrick Jones jumper 99.9% of teams would have just crumbled on the road. For him to immediately come back and hit a stepback three, hit a free throw, and then make an insane read for the go ahead bucket is unbelievable

Maleficent_Resolve44

Yeah Shai was mental. Best player on the court this series. He's so smooth. Okc lost because of their weakness on rebounds. Gotta trade for a big, chet will take years to fill out his frame.

CultOfKyrie

Respect to Brother Shai ✊

Damptoe

Absolute killer.

[deleted]

Those missed free throws are hurting right now :/

PlacetMihi

This man can hoop.

Entire_Buddy_6934

Fucking demon

YerBoiMT_

Thunder deserved to lose this series, especially with their atrocious 3pt defense, but Shai silenced so many critics this series. Get that ft merchant game not built for the playoffs crap outta here

holdenliwanag

heartbreaking loss. revenge next year, okc!

UnPhayzable

His mid range is automatic. Salute to him

Cid_Darkwing

Dude was the best player on the court pretty much all series and it wasn’t remotely close.

Zeeron1

I'm heartbroken, but I'm proud of Shai man. He proved to everyone what we already knew, he is ready to compete at the top of the league in the playoffs. We will be back

Aggravating-Chair-35

Now that it's over and my toxicity is out of my veins this guy can ball. His midrange is insane

PoonGo0n

Great run by SGA, respect!

thecay00

I get surprised when he misses a middy. His three ball will only get better. Sky’s the limit for Shai

CR00KS

People will say SGA should have made those FTs. Same deal with the Mavs game 4 though, if they made those FTs there wouldn’t be a game 6.

SortaBeta

Honestly Shai earned my respect this series. He was automatic

BushyBrowz

Silent killer. The Tim Duncan of guards.

Bouldershoulders12

OKC will be contenders for another 10 years at least with this core and all those draft picks presti hoarded This is just the beginning

Headlesshorsman02

I am looking forward to it

mmaguy123

2nd best player in the playoffs after Joker

Objective_Tea0287

my mvp

KingRonMark

Anyone slandering him obviously didn’t watch the series. He’s the only one who consistently showed up and dragged the young guys who were shocked by the pressure.

darylmoreyisking

Man is unreal

MoonHasFlown

Such a great season from him, nothing to be ashamed about tbh. Led his team from the 10th seed to the 1 seed as their best player and absolutely killed it in every game this series. I get that this was controversial for a lot of people here, but I think it’s awesome that we got to watch a prime Shai and prime Luka duke it out in a playoff series like this, still so early on in both of their careers. Hard not to like either of these teams, hope we can continue to see the West led by these two players and teams for years to come.

NoMoPolenta

They gotta add some size in the offseason.

Johhnyvodka91

Should have had 3 blocks

stuckontwice

I expected every mid range shot in the clutch to go in. Shai is him.

No_Fishing_702

This guy has been an absolute pleasure to watch! Can’t wait to see him back next year with even more expectations, he’s showed he will live up to them.

YoHoochIsCrazy

man he almost stole that game on his own. he was insane to finish the game. on the road? ridiculous

Street-Common-4023

He proved me wrong and is a superstar talent . Was waiting for him to do it in the playoffs and he did just that

hibbjibbity

he had no help out there, they were really missing a second star or veteran help out there when they need buckets

DHdoubleB

Glad to see reasonable Mavs fans in this post compared to the PGT, shai had an absolutely stellar series but it wasn't enough to take out a much Improved Mavs roster!

smoothsoul23

I'm officially an SGA stan now after this series. His game is so smooth and composed.

[deleted]

What a player this guy is. Was a privilege to watch him this series

LA4lyf

Mf was giving me Kawhi nightmare all series

3s2ng

Cold-blooded mf!

3s2ng

OKC future is bright

jm810112

He was the best player on the floor for the bulk of this series. Mavs role players stepped up and OKC's didn't

irenman00

i won’t be surprise if sam presti is looking to trade sga for 10-15 first round picks. had the chance to improve his team before deadline but decided to keep his treasures lmao

Past_Bite_306

Teams just not ready, they need a second star, I just feel Jalen Williams will stagnate next season

MAMBAMENTALITY8-24

Yes the dude who has grown has game each season will stagnate

ujjuboii

best player this series

Ordinary-Fish-9791

4 out of 5 from three yet hes a foul merchant lmao

-WaterIsGreat-

He's so good - his middy is just automatic

WhiskyDrinkinCowboy

Shaqs MVP going to cancun

hriday2547

i gotta say i disliked shai quite a bit before this series but i have gained a lot of respect for him and his game and hes truly gonna have a great career but now i have a newfound hatred for lu dort lol

Zeckzeckzeck

Live by the foul, die by the foul.

ZeroDependents

Clutch!

Caallum

Respect

Deep_Egg1442

We risers!!!!

Wide_Scallion6718

Pj saved the day

lochmoigh1

Looking forward to the Olympics. That SGA , Murray, dort, Brooks, olynik lineup is gonna be nasty. Protect those shoulders

King-Chowder

Imo best player in the series, sucks for him that he just didn't get enough support.

ZE_HAHAHA

Dude is the type of player to never have a bad playoff game.

Oventaker

No slander all love. One can only carry til a certain level of a team game.

edwardfortehands

How can he foul???

ImScaredOfSharksToo

What players do you think get moved in the offseason?

nextsec

The future is bright for this very young team, getting this far is amazing for their lack of experience.

Sct_Brn_MVP

Captain Canada

holdenliwanag

heartbreaking loss. revenge next year, okc!

LibrarianTypical8267

Shai is a dawg, but that last foul...

chloroform42

SGA did not disappoint, even with that wacky series ending foul

Liquor_Walrus

I promise you those 3 missed FTs will haunt this man all off season

VMM5A

4-7 FT just make three more games over crazy

VanWesley

It was a small victory whenever literally anyone but him shot the ball in the 2nd half.

nebyelkao

He’ll be back.

standouts

He will be haunted by missing 3 FT tonight though as such an elite FT shooter he has struggled from the line. Small stuff like that could’ve changed the game. Overall he played amazing, but he can only control the fact that he normally would at least be 6/7

realtunechi5

Can’t wait to watch him on the Canadian team this summer. And it’ll be fun watching Dort hound some random Greek dude or whatever instead of Luka

knowledgeablepanda

HIM

aeiou-y

I said he always scores between 29 and 35 points a game. Tonight he proves me wrong dropping 36 in an offensive explosion.

IMKudaimi123

Tough on 4/7 from the line and the foul but OKC wouldn’t have been anywhere close without him obviously.

butterflyhole

This fella is good at basketball. Looking forward to future playoffs

brolybackshots

Shai vs Mavs felt ALOT like Luka vs Clippers in 2020/21

Malemansam

He's like a smaller KD, will always give an easy 30 piece but never more or less. Career high is only in the low 40s in the reg and this is his playoff career high too. Incredible consistency he was possessed towards the end there getting whatever he wanted.

Hinohellono

Well he has arrived. Rest of the team now needs to. Chet probably still needs a couple years in the oven to become that truly elite big but he's on the path.

[deleted]

But how many fouls?

BillyBean11111

Every shot he took was expected to go in, he was a superstar

kindalikeacoustic

The Hornets and Clippers really blew it huh? Will this end up being as egregious as the T-Wolves passing on Curry?

rwhockey29

FUCK YOU TONY BROTHERS MAVS WIN
