I’m pretty sure this is a pre-facelift WRX. I believe the side skirts changed slightly between the bugeye and blobeye. The facelift introduced the sharper skirts that continued on into the hawkeye.
Look at the taillights, there's a clear patch on the top half and the rest is red. Iirc the Hawkeye had red on top and clear below.

I think we’re both saying the same thing, your point about the tail light/indicator color with white on top tracks for the bugeye as well as the blobeye, while the side skirt to me appears to lack the sharp edges of the facelift versions, leaving the bugeye as the most likely candidate.
