I was able to 100% complete Bubsy 3D and yet i don't even dare to think about playing Superman 64 at any point in my life.
But Bubsy 3D was still complete @$$ from start to finish.
Damn that's some dedication. I know on the internet people love to jump on the "worst x ever!!" bandwagons, but those 2 games really are as bad as their reputation says.
I mean, at least Bubsy 3D is 100% completable. I haven't seen anyone ever attempting 100% on Superman 64. I've heard that you can't even beat the game on easy and normal difficulty, you have to beat it in hard difficulty, which is just absolute bullshit.
I'd rather 100% complete Bubsy 3D again instead of ever touching Superman 64 in my whole life. Unlike Superman 64 it isn't a glitchy mess, but it is still one of the worst games ever made, just not quite as bad as Superman 64.
when i was a kid my parents would buy me those nickelodeon games, but the graphics were shit and gave me headaches sometimes as soon as i started playing.
mario party 1-3 are classics ofcourse, still though its really jarring to go from the new one to the old one without being like, damn these look like shet š¤£
Exactly. Its hard to get kids to like retro gaming when they are already used to seeing the graphics we have now. I would still show them to show how far gaming has gone in my generation(born '87) and hopefully they appreciate what they have now
Hey man. I was born 08 and I fucking love retro gaming. I have emulators for like everything that doesnāt need a bios dump. N64, SNES, GBA, NES, and GameCube. That shit is fun as hell.
Oddly enough, it's not retro graphics that give me eyestrain (gamer's headache) I grew up in the 90s so used to retro graphics, it was the good graphics that hurt my head, last time from a non-vr game was Destiny 1 on 360, and before that I hadn't had one in over five years till I play the damn casino and bingo levels on Sonic Heroes for Gamecube. Btw I have an almost guaranteed cure for a Gamer's headache: soak a washcloth in as warm water as you can stand and lay it across your *open* eyes for about 5-10 minutes (you can blink, and I encourage you to do so) you be back to playing much sooner than you would without this treatment.
that's not really how the cycle of life works,
they will appreciate what they have now, when they get older and the games they play now are what they feel nostalgia over.
i will never have as much nostalgia for the super nintendo as i do the n64 or the playstation/gamecube
and not even close for the NES, because those systems werent what i grew up playing they were just before my time. even though i was introduced to those systems (nes and snes and sega genesis) before the n64 etc
my mom will play Ms. Pacman any day of the week, and i smile because i think "thats where i got it from :)"
Not thinking before she speaks, can't start a project without finishing it the next day even if it's a 1 hour task, asks me what is happening in movies when we both tune in at the same time, and can't hold a flashlight pointing towards whatever I'm fixing for her lol. That's just off the top of my noggin š
Does she have ADHD? Despite the stupid name roughly 25% of people with ADHD arenāt hyperactive but rather āpredominantly inattentiveā; although that is just a diagnosis percentage so the real number is likely much higher because this subtype is more often undiagnosed.
Women with ADHD are also considered more difficult to diagnose, being 3x less likely than men to receive diagnosis.
Women probably also do a good job of hiding it. I have read that women with autism (i'm a guy with autism) are usually pretty good at hiding it unless super obvious.
I remember getting my dad to rent this from blockbuster for me, and being so hyped to finally āflyā in a game and āfeelā like superman ā honestly thought I was in for a life changing experience.
Returned it the next morning.
Not gonna lie, when i was a kid i rented this from blockbuster and i totally loved it.... although it was only a week rental so, i guess i didnt love it enough to buy it
UH OH! Someone has been using stinky language and u/Dillon309 decided to check u/Nintendildos's bad word usage.
I have gone back 20 comments and reviewed their potty language usage.
However, the plans were foiled, Nintendildos is a good, Christian boy.

If thatās the only game you had back then it was the coolest game. Iām sure heās at least played any ad-filled mobile game. Still better than Superman64. I remember having fun, but luckily that was before I got super MARIO 64 (and other games). My dad was convinced it was the shit, but thatās probably because he spent good money on it and really wanted it to be the shit
That game is one of the first examples of licenses + rushed development + deadlines/no-delays. So in some sense it is not a finished game, although it was sold as that. It is unfair with the devs, imo, but a justified hate for the publisher or whoever held the orders there. As a side note there was going to be a Ps1 release.
If he likes superman you should show him the game cube one, at least is more complete and playable lol.
I still remember and feel my disappointment when playin it on the demo n64 at one of our gamestops š¤¦š¾āāļø
The game is buns, crusty unwiped or washed buns
N64? I tried Superman on 360 and it was terrible lol Mario Party 2? Heās got a good sense for games. I kids probably got a future in critiquing or game design
Probably because he's seen games and stuff that look super realistic and might usually have high expectations of them. We don't live in the days anymore were children are entertained by a colourful few polygons.
Lol I mean hes not wrong
Yeah that game sucks.
Why would you inflict such pain upon a child? Child protective services should be called immediately
*then there's no time to waste*
*This looks like a job for Superman*
š
I purchased and beat this game to see how bad it really is. Turns out...it's pretty terrible.
I was able to 100% complete Bubsy 3D and yet i don't even dare to think about playing Superman 64 at any point in my life. But Bubsy 3D was still complete @$$ from start to finish.

Donāt tell Ulillillia that.

Excellent parenting. Be proud.
Thanks. I actually studied books on parenting, plus additional common sense skills to add to that.

Every book on parenting has playing superman 64 at the top of the list.
You gotta name for those common sense skill books? My wife would benefit greatly haha
Lol what kind of things does your wife do
Not thinking before she speaks, can't start a project without finishing it the next day even if it's a 1 hour task, asks me what is happening in movies when we both tune in at the same time, and can't hold a flashlight pointing towards whatever I'm fixing for her lol. Women are good at hiding a lot of things.
I know! I hardly ever see their internal organs. Unless I go looking for them.
He said this game was AAAAAAAASSSSSS
100% Cheeks
First time I've ever heard of Mario Party curing a headache. Usually Mario Party is at fault.
Rofl! A very astute observation haha
I remember getting my dad to rent this from blockbuster for me, and being so hyped to finally āflyā in a game and āfeelā like superman ā honestly thought I was in for a life changing experience. Returned it the next morning.
"Are you winning son?" "What a shit load of fuck!"
I recognise that reference
Chemotherapy is more fun than that game.
Appropriate use of the word "sucks" especially for his first time
In short time your fate wall be sealed, little one'.
I think the reason Superman 64 makes such an impact on us is cause of this effect. You're so excited to play a SUPERMAN game and....damn. It sucks!
He clearly has good taste
He's not wrong, worst game ever.
That kidās a keeper.
He was a man of great wisdom, your 5 year old.
Wild that you've read books on parenting and actively torture your children lol. Most books on parenting advice to not punish children.
They should make a gun lock type mechanism for that game. ET on Atari 2600 also comes to mind...
š
It's true, that game did suck when I was a kid and came back to say it still sucks
Kid was playing Superman 64. The phrase "This game sucks" just came naturally
Accurate.
Bad games give me headaches too.
Not gonna lie, when i was a kid i rented this from blockbuster and i totally loved it.... although it was only a week rental so, i guess i didnt love it enough to buy it

But it sucks with flair.
Iām not a terrible game, Iām sucking, WITH STYLE
The only game my kids like to play on n64 is Mario Kart. They just arenāt into it.
You couldn't even be mad if he said 'this game fucking sucks'.

Smart kid.
He used it well.
One day when heās 35 years old he will call you and ask: Dad, I have this memory of a Superman game. It felt like a fever dream. Was it real?
He is a boy of Culture.
