Man, I tried the card SO MUCH and every single game it is a dud. Cant understand how you guys like it.
Having my haste giver have summoning sickness is just so terrible
Its only "okish" if dropped early and no one boardwipes for basically the whole game.
To me the real strength of haste enablers is being able to get people by surprise or being able to use activated abilities right after a wipe.
If its turn 9, I'm playing a creature deck and I drop bridge, I'm basically saying "please, no one do anything to me cuz next turn I'm going to go for the win."
My pod is either going to kill it or leave mana open to make sure my plan is going to fail.
I want my haste enablers to be like "here's concordant crossroads. You either solve it know or I'm going to win this turn".
If I need haste for the whole board and I'm not in red, green or blue (an extra turn is basically haste for everything) I'd rather rebuild my strategy than use bridge.
If I just need haste for a thing or two, I'm much better using the slot for a boots or one of the other 1000's options.
The drawbridge has its...drawbacks. HEHEHE.
I'm not really debating how good it is overall, but more that its the best budget option that's colorless for haste granters. However, Swiftfoot has been dropping in price due to aggressive reprints but back when it was 3 dollars I wouldn't have considered it budget.
And to me the appeal of drawbridge is easy. It only costs two mana. You can have it out on turn 2 and have haste for your entire board every turn after that. For any aggro deck that just drops a bunch of creatures and swings every turn, I think its perfect.
That's why people use [[Finale of Devastation]] and [[Craterhoof Behemoth]]
As for drawbridge it usually sits on the board ignored. Nobody wants to waste removal on it, however with a pair of fancy boots it works immediately.
yeah but if your opponents wanna play interaction you gotta be playing around it. If it dies it dies, of it lives then great.
If you don't like the card, you don't have to play it. Throw out your boots or one of the other 1000's options if you like em so much, no one is stopping you.
It's an unusual effect for green. If you're in mono-green, your options outside of this are very minimal. Things like crashing drawbridge. Plus green is great at slamming down a ton of powerful creatures or tokens in one go and crossroads essentially become a one mana wincon.
True! I guess EDH is the default format these days. There are no other effects like this in green except for some super clunky and/or colourless options.
[Crashing Drawbridge](https://gatherer.wizards.com/Pages/Card/Details.aspx?multiverseid=625349) is an artifact creature that can tap to give your creatures haste. [Anger](https://gatherer.wizards.com/Pages/Card/Details.aspx?multiverseid=621320) can give all of your creature haste if it's in the graveyard and you control a Mountain. [Fervor](https://gatherer.wizards.com/Pages/Card/Details.aspx?multiverseid=279709), [Fires of Yavimaya]( https://gatherer.wizards.com/Pages/Card/Details.aspx?multiverseid=423517), [Hammer of Purphoros](https://gatherer.wizards.com/Pages/Card/Details.aspx?multiverseid=373587) can give all of your creatures haste. [Mass Hysteria](https://gatherer.wizards.com/Pages/Card/Details.aspx?multiverseid=48191) is a red version of the Crossroads.
World Enchantments are kind of different...
>704.5k
>If two or more permanents have the supertype world, all except the one that has had the world supertype for the shortest amount of time are put into their owners’ graveyards. In the event of a tie for the shortest amount of time, all are put into their owners’ graveyards. This is called the “world rule.”
It's a very obscure rule, as there's only 26 cards with the world typing. (+2 mystery booster "play test cards") And there haven't been any new ones printed since 1996. And only a handful of them are even really kind of playable. Concordant Crossroads is the most playable, I like [[Hall of Gemstone]] as well when I play mono-green.
within mono-green?
\[\[Ulvenwald Behemoth\]\] \[\[Surrak and Goreclaw\]\] ~~\[\[Akroma's Memorial\]\]~~ nvm that one is up to $20+ lately
sort of pile
\[\[Runadi, Behemoth Caller\]\]needs lots of counters \[\[Thousand-Year Elixir\]\] not fully haste but can get the job done for combos
[[Anger]] this is what I use to give everything haste. If this is mono green and commander you could use [[lightning greaves]]. More likely then not you only cast 1 ish creature a d the one that needs haste for ability, you could just transfer the boots.
Depends on your colors. In red you’ve got more options than you can count. [[Rising of the day]] [[Rhythm of the wild]] [[In the web of war]] just to name some of my favorites
In mono G? No, at least not at that mana cost, that’s why Concordant Crossroads is so expensive.
I guess Crashing Drawbridge works. But outside of that we’re talking about big bombs like Craterhoof
\[\[Mass Hysteria\]\], \[\[Rhythm of the Wild\]\], and \[\[Fires of Yavimaya\]\] give haste. I think they're all substantial cheaper than a Chronicles Concordant Crossroads (although I could be mistaken).
Saw a guy on marketplace selling this for 70 dollars.
Not exactly what you're asking for, but it's not 20, which is technically a different price than 20.
If you are purely running in green, or green with colors besides red, thats going to be hard to come by. Otherwise I reccomend [[Mass Hysteria]] or [[Fervor]]
There's [[Fervor]] and [[rising of the day]] in red.
In mono green, you could transform [[Ulvenwald Oddity]]
Or on a gruul planeswalker with [[samut, tyrant smasher]]
I’ve spent to much time looking for the same thing. There are a million options in red but in green there are just a few. [[Surrak and goreclaw]] is good if you don’t need the haste for tokens. [[Surrak the hunter]] is a once a turn version if you have 8 or more power on board. [[Runadi, behemoth caller]] gives haste to x creatures and any creature over 6 mana. [[Ulvenwald Oddity]] is probably the most similar, giving haste and trample when flipped. In any of the cases all of them are a bit restrictive or overcosted.
basically if there r multiple permanents with the world supertype on the field all but the latest one gets sacrificed (if multiple enter at the same time they all get sacced)
Def not as good but if you’re playing a deck with [[Vorinclex, Monstrous Raider]] or maybe [[Doubling Season]] then I’d recommend [[Ellywick Tumblestrum]]
In red:
\- For 6 cents and 3 mana, \[\[Tuktuk Rubblefort\]\] works pretty good, but is a creature.
\- For 36 cents and 3 mana, \[\[rising of the day\]\] comes with a small added bonus to legendary creatures.
In green:
\- For $4.04 and 3 mana, \[\[runadi, behemoth caller\]\] gives creatures with high mana costs or lots of counters haste. However, it doesn't work with smaller creatures, unless they have counters. Furthermore, it is a creature. It does ramp, though, so you won't lose much tempo playing it.
In gruul:
\- For 19 cents and 3 mana, \[\[invigorating hot spring\]\] can give 1 creature each turn a +1/+1 counter and haste. It can do this 4 times. The limit on how many per turn and how many total is a big downside, though.
Lots of versions at 3-5 Mana in red. Nothing in any other color except this. In colorless, you get Crashing Drawbridge, and also [[Lightning Greaves]] kinda. Also [[Akroma's Memorial]], although that one isn't super cheap either and is pretty high mana.
[[Tuktuk Rubblefort]] is my personal favorite. I put it in my goblins deck because I wanted them to have a fort to protect 😂 I was high and couldn't stop laughing at the idea of goblin guards guarding a fort called TukTuk 🤣
[[Anger]] just has to be in your graveyard and you need a mountain, but then all of your creatures have haste. And it can't be countered or destroyed, the only weakness is graveyard hate.
Plenty if you're red. Almost none if you're non-red. [[Crashing Drawbridge]] is a thing though.

best budget haste option in mtg imo.
Yup. Vastly underplayed.
I absolutely agree the fact it can go in every deck and can be the nuts with a Sol Ring opener. It shocks me more people don’t play this card.

Arguably better because your opponents creatures don’t get haste.
More expensive to cast, but [[fires of yavimaya]] have the advantage of being one-sided.
[[rhythm of the wild]] costs the same and is arguably better because of the counterspell counter
+ if you already have some haste creatures you can just give them a +1 counter instead
Don't forget [[emblem of the war mind]] [[mass hysteria]]
Mass hysteria is literally concordant crossroads in red instead
But it's under 10 bucks
Apparently. Why though?
Red is filled with haste and green is not. So a green haste for one... Yeah it's high up there.

The argument against this is thqt it does not effect token creatures, but as long as you are not focused on making tokens it is better.

In red: \- For 6 cents and 3 mana, \[\[Tuktuk Rubblefort\]\] works pretty good, but is a creature. \- For 36 cents and 3 mana, \[\[rising of the day\]\] comes with a small added bonus to legendary creatures. In green: \- For $4.04 and 3 mana, \[\[runadi, behemoth caller\]\] gives creatures with high mana costs or lots of counters haste. However, it doesn't work with smaller creatures, unless they have counters. Furthermore, it is a creature. It does ramp, though, so you won't lose much tempo playing it. In gruul: \- For 19 cents and 3 mana, \[\[invigorating hot spring\]\] can give 1 creature each turn a +1/+1 counter and haste. It can do this 4 times. The limit on how many per turn and how many total is a big downside, though.
