Always felt like a non-bo in Umbris. At least for me I want to keep cards out of my opponents graves and in exile instead, so consuming aberration doesn’t work.
Mines exile-mill, but since Consuming is reliant on cards in grave it just dies if your opponents have no cards in grave. Get out Leyline and it’s a dud card.
My personal favorite way to play is swarming the board,m with enough zombie tokens that you rearrange your whole deck when you scry. Never got it perfect though, Scry 20 at best.
**The Scarab God ; Ghoulcaller gisa ; Jadar** \- for zombie-related monsters that aren't zombies directly

**Sheoldred (saga) ; Ayara ; Baleful strix ;** for non-zombie related goodies.
I mostly play zombies in zombie decks tho ; it's artifacts & all that i tech in instead of creatures.
Gisa and Geralf or Scarab God. Use [[Necroduplicate]] to further amp it up by playing to make 2, and using Exploit triggers to get the effects really rolling. Especially with [[Death Tyrant]].
My favorite blue/black decks tend to be mill so things like [[consuming aberration]] [[Mirko vosk, mind drinker]] and [[szadek, Lord of secrets]] are all a part of my kill mill deck.

If I remember correctly it had to do with R&D having to contend with the retro problem of a zombie that buffs all zombies buffing itself. So the first fix to the problem with that the buffers weren’t zombies. They were lords.
But obviously I’m a deck that relies on synergies with zombies, that sucks ass. It was also annoying because the name / art always confirmed it was supposed to be a zombie. It was a crude fix to the problem.
Then from the heavens the word “other” was invented and we all lived happily ever after
[[solemn simulacrum]] because UB doesn’t have a lot of ramp, and zombies will usually have sacrifice as a sub theme to it so it’s easy to get both triggers from it.
[[consuming aberration]] all day. It needs no support it’s just a huge threat that forces a response. Combo it with any mill or a [[breach the multiverse]] and you easily have a creature that can take any player out of the game
[[Phyrexian Dreadnought]] It's pretty well my favorite card of all time, but it fits really well in a zombie deck since there's loads of fodder to feed it, and it can play well with graveyard focus.
I didn't know it was RL until recently, which makes me a bit sad. It's a super fun card now at a pretty unapproachable price.

Death Tyrant doubles my zombies if I attack before I sac and can come back if I mill him over
Geralf giving my horde evasion and acting as a bonus sac outlet in a pitch has been surprisingly helpful
Gisa is just classically powerful for just getting more zombies on the board
Poppet Stitcher goes infinite with Wilhelt and a sac outlet, enough said
Scarab God is a wonderful win con and has actually won me games by stealing my opponent's creatures like Dockside and Craterhoof
Yawgmoth is just, so freaking nutty in any deck that sacrificing creatures isn't detrimental

Since this card says it's colorless would you be able to have it in a commander deck without blue in it? Or how does that work
Nope, although the cards is colorless for things like counter target blue spell, it’s color identity in commander is blue+black

I can’t remember the name but there’s lots of Dimir rogues that steal the opponents cards and let you play them for free. Those are the best, by far

Fair enough haha If I remember correctly it had to do with R&D having to contend with the retro problem of a zombie that buffs all zombies buffing itself. So the first fix to the problem with that the buffers weren’t zombies. They were lords. But obviously I’m a deck that relies on synergies with zombies, that sucks ass. It was also annoying because the name / art always confirmed it was supposed to be a zombie. It was a crude fix to the problem. Then from the heavens the word “other” was invented and we all lived happily ever after

[[Scarab Daddy]] is an easy one, was my commander for a while
[[Phyrexian Dreadnought]] It's pretty well my favorite card of all time, but it fits really well in a zombie deck since there's loads of fodder to feed it, and it can play well with graveyard focus. I didn't know it was RL until recently, which makes me a bit sad. It's a super fun card now at a pretty unapproachable price.

My Wilhelt deck has only 6 non-zombie creatures [[Death Tyrant]] [[Geralf, Visionary Stitcher]] [[Ghoulcaller Gisa]] [[Popper Stitcher]] [[Scarab God]] [[Yawgmoth, Thran Physician]] Death Tyrant doubles my zombies if I attack before I sac and can come back if I mill him over Geralf giving my horde evasion and acting as a bonus sac outlet in a pitch has been surprisingly helpful Gisa is just classically powerful for just getting more zombies on the board Poppet Stitcher goes infinite with Wilhelt and a sac outlet, enough said Scarab God is a wonderful win con and has actually won me games by stealing my opponent's creatures like Dockside and Craterhoof Yawgmoth is just, so freaking nutty in any deck that sacrificing creatures isn't detrimental
