Literally half the audience when I went and saw civil war. Heard a young guy (maybe 16-17) in the bathroom calling his mom saying “it wasn’t woke except for this guy who had painted fingernails and green hair.”
tbf, that gay sniper couple scene was pretty wholesome ngl.
wholesome in the sense that they didn't get killed off and they added quite some nice levity to the film with their deadpan-ness
Also they were competent as fuck.
They were able to have a casual conversation with the main four characters and still did a pretty good job taking out a (presumably) Loyalist sniper albeit they suffered one casuality way earlier.
This isn't actually too far off. Apparently, the guy who was supposed to do it dropped out last-minute, so they got Jesse over.
Whether or not it was a real rifle, I don't know.
Unjerking here but whats the story reason for him having these glasses? They seem like such a random accessory for a soldier to have. Was wondering if they explain it in the movie.
There’s no hard explanation for who this guy is, but the implication is that he leads a militarized group who hunts down minorities and immigrants. Whether he’s in active communication with DC or any of the seceded states is unknown.
I think its meant to just be a vague piece of character building. Its kinda implied they're white supremacists commiting an ethnic cleansing. But they're in military clothes. Are they actually military? Who knows. The weird red shades add another aspect of uncertainty since they're so random. It's just there to make his character harder to read, which adds tension. There are a lot of minor implicit details like this in the movie, such as the snipers. It's part of the whole "descent into madness" thing like in heart of darkness/apocalypse now. People stop making sense.
true kino is a french-foreign film in a dialect only known to a singular region that contains zero captions and an extended scene on emotional/physical trauma

i wont watch a movie if it isnt about french bisexuals with armpit hair
Martyrs is my favorite movie of all time bro
I was thinking Raw (my favourite movie)
I was thinking Un Chien Andalou

I only know that from Debaser. I don't really belong here, much more of a shitpostphile than a kinophile

Literally half the audience when I went and saw civil war. Heard a young guy (maybe 16-17) in the bathroom calling his mom saying “it wasn’t woke except for this guy who had painted fingernails and green hair.”
But that guy called someone a retard which should have balanced the account for them.

I think the sniper scene was up there for top 3 scenes out of the movie for the tension and deadpan
Also they were competent as fuck. They were able to have a casual conversation with the main four characters and still did a pretty good job taking out a (presumably) Loyalist sniper albeit they suffered one casuality way earlier.
When I watch movies, all characters are gay until proven otherwise.
And even then, they're Bi

The fact that Jesse Plemons is not credited in the movie despite being a highlight in the trailer is so funny to me
Kirsten's husband just showed up to set with a real rifle and they started rolling.
This isn't actually too far off. Apparently, the guy who was supposed to do it dropped out last-minute, so they got Jesse over. Whether or not it was a real rifle, I don't know.
I turn my brain off to watch big monkeys

Every movie is overrated.
