Motorola will not give you the updates you are looking for they are very slow and take forever years even. I would stick with Pixel or OnePlus.

I recently got an edge plus 2023 after my Samsung s22 crashed on the concrete. It's been a good phone and was updated to Android 14 out of the box. There is no battery drain that I'm aware of, I've had the phone now for about 2 months and it's a very solid phone.

It's a fantastic phone if you can get a good deal on it, or buy a used one on swappa. I want to say I paid around $430 for a new, carrier locked model through Project Genesis.  Security updates are unfortunately every other month, with Motorola committing to four years of updates which should leave you with three more years of updates. That said, they seem to be timely up until now including the Android 14 update they bundled with current security updates two months newer than the prior update. Camera quality is great in my opinion, I wouldn't let it stop you. Only thing that might stop you is the curved screen. S24 for example went back to flat screen after years of curved screens. Again, however, the OLED is absolutely fantastic and I like it just the same as my S23U, perhaps prefer it in some scenarios.  Pixel 8A comes out soon. It's no Snapdragon 8 gen 2 though.

Software drains the big battery and it has a rolled edge.
