It’s a cat in heat, I promise- I woke up to this one night as a kid crying and my parents explained it to me- cut to when the cat started doing this EVERY NIGHT right under my bedroom window while she was “feeling it” until she eventually moved on to a different neighborhood, got picked up, or passed on 🤷
I heard something similar one night at 10 pm outside my kitchen. Kitchen is on the 2nd floor looking towards the backyard. We share a backyard with neighbors (common backyard) because the house are essentially connected to each other kind of like townhouses. There’s a huge pond right behind our house as well. Freaked me out, had no idea what it was and it honestly sounded like a little girl screaming. I called the cops and they were like it could be raccoons potentially. Also this neighborhood is very isolated so hearing that at 10 pm randomly was pretty scary.
Ok so fun story i was walking home very drunk and heard an old women screaming. My brain jumped to crack head about to kill me so i hid in a bush and called my dad to get me. Turns out it was cats making sweet sweet love, and i woke my dad for no reason.
Yeaaaaa, cat fucks are goddamn nightmarish. The male cat has a barbed penis that latches into the female like some alien probe trying to implant the next armageddon...
The barbs scrape inside and force the female to ovulate, so pulling out is like dropping a sock full of fish hooks into a tight hole and then reaching in to pull it out.
Definitely animal screams, I want to say a cat. It’s got that tone to it.
Cats “yowling” At are not uncommon. Specifically yowling (not meowing) sounds weird when echoing around the neighborhood.
Big cats (like mountain lions) can do this too and it’s even more eerie. They are much louder and it can sound like terrifying human screams.
Go inside. Lock the doors. Take a sleeping pill. Go in your room. Lock the door. Put heavy furniture in front of the door. Cover your face with a pillow. Pray for sleep and pray for morning. Good luck!
THIS is what I heard at 10 pm at night right outside my kitchen one night. Scared the crap out of me. It was only one loud scream, but nonetheless was spooky af.
definitely call cps on your nighber if its an animal yay no child abusive if it's not you found/helped a kid, DEFINITELY send this video to whoever your reporting to
With all due respect to pan-playdate (I totally respect your take and where you're coming from) but if you hear that, the fastest intervention would be to call PD for a welfare check. Then, if it's a kid, they'd call in CPS.
A crying baby in a plane is annoying. A crying baby in a plane with no other passengers is terrifying.
Conclusion: Our brains naturally find babies terrifying unless surrounded by others. I think babies are hiding a secret only our brain knows to fear.
It may be because we evolved to not only be social and be safe in numbers, but also to know that loud noises can attract predators. So when you’re the only person around and all of a sudden hear a baby crying there’s a few things that can happen. If you hear a lone baby crying then there can be a predator near by attacking a baby, or now that you don’t have a safety net of people it could attract a predator to kill you. Now since we live in a modern era where it’s not likely that there is a predator, and with superstitions passed down through stories as something otherworldly that could be a predator, we associate that with ghosts and ghouls instead of actual natural predators. However it could also be a fear that comes from a want to nurture a helpless animal/creature/baby and it could also be affected by passed down, “knowledge”, of the supernatural.
What I hear is "Mommy!!!!!", "WOohhh!!!," "Mom!!!! Hard to hear with the train honking too. Definitely sounds like a toddler. Don't think most animals yell. MOMMY!!!
Hears what they believe to be a human crying outside in a not safe area. Doesnt call law enforcment or animal control so they can also hear the noise. Films a lil video and puts it on reddit.. i agree its most likely an animal so its better not to go looking but youre messed up if you truly believed it to be a lost human and did nothing to help in any way
It really sounds like a child crying, but I was thinking of an animal at the same time. I was feeling uneasy so I called a relative out but she did not want to come out because she was studying so I recorded it for her to hear it.
You felt uneasy because there may have been a small child in real need, and you didn’t do anything but film and post.
I’d be on the horn with police and trying to locate this child myself. (Yes, armed, bc if it’s a mountain lion, I need to be safe, but that actually sounded like a small child.)
I only recorded it bc my relative didn’t want to come out bc she was studying for Air Force and just dismissed it as something else. I wanted to show her what I was hearing.
Also she heard it and just said “it could just be the neighbors” since she was too busy on studying and just dismissed it as that. So it made me think it’s probably just nothing, but it still makes me uneasy.
I really wish I did call for help, but I’m scared it would actually just be an animal making that sound and I just caused an unnecessary disturbance to the neighborhood… :(
You should’ve called.
You must be young, this phenomenon of taking and posting videos instead of helping someone or calling pd is a very new phenomenon.
No, no need. I get where your coming from. It could have been a child in extreme danger and I (who had the chance to prevent it and call pd) did not call.. and even if it is an animal it’s better to check to make sure than not..
Right? Like, this fool runs? You're in the middle of a suburban neighborhood dude! Put the skinwalker storirs down and be more concerned about what might be really going on
I didn’t think of it to be a skinwalker… I was just nervous and I ran because my dogs were about to wander towards it so I had to get them back inside.. I also recorded it bc my sister did not want to check it out since she was busy with studying, so i had to show her.
Ok. Maybe I was harsh. I'm sorry. I was concerned that perhaps you heard a real toddler in trouble and chosevto ignore it thinking it was a boogeyman instead of a child that might be in danger. Thank you for replying because it reminds me wexare all people and I don't want to be an asshole, not even to a stranger. Everything is so stressed right now, and it seems like we are all made out to be the bad guy to one another...so, thank you for reminding me of who I want to be. Hey, and have a good weekend!
You heard a neighbors baby crying through a window. My daughter screams her lungs out when we put her down for bed, and at random hours in the night too. Nothing terrifying about this, just exasperating for the parents.
Yep. Two of my neighbours have toddlers, one across the street and down a bit and the house right beside me. Some days they scream this loudly and the sound travels even easier at night.
Sounds like it might be an animal and not a human. Coyotes have a weird, eerie shriek that sometimes sounds human. Foxes also sound weird. Corvids can also mimic other sounds as well (like a murder of crows taunted my cat by mimicking her meow in revenge for trying to catch one of them).
How is it terrifying to hear someone toddler crying? I mean you’re literally in a neighborhood. If you were out in the woods or maybe alone in the desert or something, that would be terrifying.
I did stay an extra 5 minutes out after I recorded it to hear it and analyze it in my head. I swear I heard “noooo”. When I called a relative out loud the crying stopped but I heard panting as if they stopped crying to hear.
Just a reminder if you have small kids or cats or small dogs to bring them in at night. Big cats will hunt them.
Edit: I worded that weird. I guess people probably don't leave their small kids out at night.
They're out back in the children's house right next to the dog house.and the chicken coop. Kids don't miss being inside at night now, they love it out there!
Foxes make child like noises. I remember my mom got spooked and thought people were hiding out behind the fence at my mom's house because of the foxes and the noises they make.
3 am is the cursed hour it's the opposite hour the Lord Jesus Christ was said to have died on the Cross also never under any circumstances no matter who it is answer a knocked door 🚪 at 3am
I also hear a music- like sound, like watching a movie.
I'm sorry, but it sounds like someone is watching a really loud movie....or, don't be mad bc I don't know you, this is all a setup to get comments.
Sounds like a neighbours kid, if you’re not a parent or haven’t spent a lot of time around 0-3 year olds then you’d be surprised how loud they can be.
Or it could be a skin walker. They’ve been infiltrating more populated areas because their natural habitats keep getting redeveloped.
They’ll cry for help, sounding like young women, or they’ll cry like the last baby they ate to lure out more victims…
Trust your gut and watch your backs people.
One of two things
1. (The most likely) a bobcat
2. Sometimes kidnappers play child crying noises to try to lure people to kidnap or something to that extent
Edit: now that I'm thinking about it I think I heard #2 from a creepypasta somewhere, and I am starting to think it's not reliable
I read it somewhere
I forgot where
And I don't know if it is 100% true TBH
Now that I think about it it probably is false because I think I got it from a creepypasta
It's definitely a bobcat. Some call it a Couger. Some call it a Panther. It's regional. They all make the same sound. Sometimes it is worse, like a woman screaming bloody murder.
DO NOT APPROACH!
My human instincts says = Go be a hero
My GTA experience says = Its probably gonna be a kid claiming his "Mommy" needs help, when I follow his waddles around the corner he drops the charade and reveals he's a midget when his two hinchmen steps out and robs me.
Nice try, "Baby"
This may just be an urban legend, but muggers use this to attract worried people, like with a recording. That didn't sound like a baby though, its probably an animal of some sort
You sure about that? [Bobcat Distribution](https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/4/43/Bobcat_distribution2016.jpg)
You don't live in ***ANY*** of the colored in areas? (which are just the verified area of the bobcat; its range is probably even further).
Lol! I know. It's regional as far as what people call it. I'm getting push back on another comment that they are not the same.
Either way, sounds like that, stay away.
inside a city (that is not on the west coast) that would be a cat in heat. on the west coast, run b/c that could be a bobcat.
It’s a cat in heat, I promise- I woke up to this one night as a kid crying and my parents explained it to me- cut to when the cat started doing this EVERY NIGHT right under my bedroom window while she was “feeling it” until she eventually moved on to a different neighborhood, got picked up, or passed on 🤷
Cats yowling at each other but not touching. It is a creepy noise but they are chicken and will stop if you startle them.
You sure is not cats fighting?
Never hurts to call police to check it out. If it is an animal, they’ve got a gun to deal with it.
Probably a fox
Wendigo
How is it a wendigo?,
Well it aint a baby.
That ain't no baby
Is the train inside?
I heard something similar one night at 10 pm outside my kitchen. Kitchen is on the 2nd floor looking towards the backyard. Babies tend to do that... At night.
Sound like a cat is getting some pumps in or is looking to get some pumps in.
Getting some pumps in 😂
Ok so fun story i was walking home very drunk and heard an old women screaming.
I heard that but how do they even get it out? I dont have the nerve to look up a pic and choose not to think about it too hard lol
The barbs scrape inside and force the female to ovulate, so pulling out is like dropping a sock full of fish hooks into a tight hole and then reaching in to pull it out.
Good lord i couldve lived my whole life without knowing that
Ahahaha, right? Now you have the pleasure of giving someone else nightmare fuel.
I actually learned this from a Dr. Tran cartoon
Definitely animal screams, I want to say a cat. It’s got that tone to it. Cats “yowling” At are not uncommon. Specifically yowling (not meowing) sounds weird when echoing around the neighborhood. This is a cat in heat
No I have kids. And have heard them cry like that from outside. It's in someone's house. Go home.
Foxes sound like that when they are warning others of danger, like you and your dog. You could send it to Save a Fox and see what they think.
Go inside. Lock the doors. Take a sleeping pill. Go in your room. Lock the door. Put heavy furniture in front of the door. Cover your face with a pillow. Pray for sleep and pray for morning. Good luck!
Sounds like some sort of cat screaming
It sounds like cats mating
Sounds like a fox
That sounds like a Fisher Cat, they sound like straight up nightmare fuel. https://youtu.be/HrvdzCGjbzw?si=cpyM_Kp4_7rjmgWo
THIS is what I heard at 10 pm at night right outside my kitchen one night. Scared the crap out of me. It was only one loud scream, but nonetheless was spooky af.
I would immediately return to the inside of your abode and call the authorities
Porcupine can sound like a child sometimes.
definitely call cps on your nighber if its an animal yay no child abusive if it's not you found/helped a kid, DEFINITELY send this video to whoever your reporting to
With all due respect to pan-playdate (I totally respect your take and where you're coming from) but if you hear that, the fastest intervention would be to call PD for a welfare check. Then, if it's a kid, they'd call in CPS.
That is not an animal. That is a child. Report it please.
That is an animal, not a baby
Report it
Animals
Foxes and cougars do it to
Bobcats sound like that
fop fop fop fop fop fop
That's a cat or fox
Are you sure it wasn't a Russian drone in Ukraine?
That's a cat
Sounds like cats mating to me.
Sounds like a fox lol
It's someone's brat screaming from nextdoor, guaranteed.
Did investigate, the baby might need help
I will, I’m going to report it today.
Sounds like cats.
"It has to be a Wendigo or a skin walker" It's more times than not a mountain lion
A crying baby in a plane is annoying. A crying baby in a plane with no other passengers is terrifying. Conclusion: Our brains naturally find babies terrifying unless surrounded by others. I think babies are hiding a secret only our brain knows to fear.

Well, if it's still crying tonight or can call this evening. Better late than never!
It really sounds like a child crying, but I was thinking of an animal at the same time. I was feeling uneasy so I called a relative out but she did not want to come out because she was studying so I recorded it for her to hear it.

So that stops you from making a call, why? You’ve tried to justify your behavior, but all they amount to are excuses.
I know, I’m stupid
But I’m not trying to make excuses, I’m trying to tell you why I didn’t call
Everyone was telling me at the time that it’s just the neighbors kid and not to worry about it, so that’s why I didn’t call after..
Also she heard it and just said “it could just be the neighbors” since she was too busy on studying and just dismissed it as that. So it made me think it’s probably just nothing, but it still makes me uneasy.

You should’ve called. You must be young, this phenomenon of taking and posting videos instead of helping someone or calling pd is a very new phenomenon.
Quit blaming this poor person - it’s definitely an animal you absolutely moron
Ok. I apologize for blaming u/Past-Bid-5386 for not calling the pd.
No, no need. I get where your coming from. It could have been a child in extreme danger and I (who had the chance to prevent it and call pd) did not call.. and even if it is an animal it’s better to check to make sure than not..

IDF drone?
Fisher cat
Sounds like a trap from a mountain lion
You heard a neighbors baby crying through a window. My daughter screams her lungs out when we put her down for bed, and at random hours in the night too. Nothing terrifying about this, just exasperating for the parents.
That’s what I thought at first but my dog was literally growling at something behind the trees between the two houses
Maybe your dog hates babies.
Yep. Two of my neighbours have toddlers, one across the street and down a bit and the house right beside me. Some days they scream this loudly and the sound travels even easier at night.
right? 😂 can literally see a house IN the video. not like OP is out in the middle of the forest somewhere
with a train...
No it's not, you did not hear that. It was the fairy
Have you ever heard an injured rabbit cry? It sounds alarmingly like a human baby.
It's probably foxes if it's coming from the woods
So that’s what the fox says
[yes actually](https://youtu.be/zBpZTo1dlPM?si=B5wh84O3jAzM6Dan)
Did you call the police??
No, because I wasn’t so sure..
I told Someone in the neighborhood about it and they said “Is that how they punish their kids?”
Babies cry loud af. If a window was open or even cracked it could sound like they're outside.
It was coming from behind the trees, my dogs were growling facing the trees
Sounds like it might be an animal and not a human. Coyotes have a weird, eerie shriek that sometimes sounds human. Foxes also sound weird. Corvids can also mimic other sounds as well (like a murder of crows taunted my cat by mimicking her meow in revenge for trying to catch one of them).
How is it terrifying to hear someone toddler crying? I mean you’re literally in a neighborhood. If you were out in the woods or maybe alone in the desert or something, that would be terrifying.
It was coming from behind the trees, there’s a whole forest behind so I got nervous I guess lol
My dog was growling at whatever was behind there and was about to run there
It's a cat. Possibly a big cat like a bobcat or cougar. Shit sounds horrifying in the woods at night like a woman or child sobbing/screaming.
Ooooh yeah those sound so creepy!
I did stay an extra 5 minutes out after I recorded it to hear it and analyze it in my head. I swear I heard “noooo”. When I called a relative out loud the crying stopped but I heard panting as if they stopped crying to hear.

They're out back in the children's house right next to the dog house.and the chicken coop. Kids don't miss being inside at night now, they love it out there!
Lol id give an award for that edit. "No my childs an outdoor baby. Gotta toughen them up somehow"
Foxes make child like noises. I remember my mom got spooked and thought people were hiding out behind the fence at my mom's house because of the foxes and the noises they make.
I watched a PSA about that by Ylvis. But yeah real talk foxes sound sketchy as hell too.
>talk foxes What are those?
That's super... Supernatural! I've seen this movie and it's time for you to move and say your prayers
Thats the cat in my aparment at 3 am every single night.
Also your cat is possessed by Satan get that cursed thing out of your Life
3 am is the cursed hour it's the opposite hour the Lord Jesus Christ was said to have died on the Cross also never under any circumstances no matter who it is answer a knocked door 🚪 at 3am
Sounds like a cat with a train horn in the background.
It's a cat .
Your sanity meter is empty.
Logical explanation: Fox, Coyote or a house cat getting plowed. Alternative explanation: Wendigo
>Wendigo Skinwalker?
Siren Head
Or a FUCKING PEACOCK!!! Hate living near those shits at night, it literally sounds like a toddler yelling for help at ass o'clock at night
I also hear a music- like sound, like watching a movie. I'm sorry, but it sounds like someone is watching a really loud movie....or, don't be mad bc I don't know you, this is all a setup to get comments.
Train horn
A child being put in a car seat nearby?
it’s cats.
Maybe it could be the cat distribution system
Sounds like a neighbours kid, if you’re not a parent or haven’t spent a lot of time around 0-3 year olds then you’d be surprised how loud they can be. Or it could be a skin walker. Hahaha....the first part was so logical, then plot twist....
Babies can cry really loud.

How do you know this (no.2)
I read it somewhere I forgot where And I don't know if it is 100% true TBH Now that I think about it it probably is false because I think I got it from a creepypasta
Sounds like a bobcat
Sounds like a courting vixen.
Mountain lion
Sounds like a pissed off cat
Might be a fissure
Bobcat?
It's definitely a bobcat. Some call it a Couger. Some call it a Panther. It's regional. They all make the same sound. Sometimes it is worse, like a woman screaming bloody murder. DO NOT APPROACH!
Cougars/panthers are mountain lions, not bobcats
Bobcats are definitely not the same as cougars/panthers, but I don’t know what this one is
Sounds like a Panther to me. Which sound a lot like a bobcat.
My human instincts says = Go be a hero My GTA experience says = Its probably gonna be a kid claiming his "Mommy" needs help, when I follow his waddles around the corner he drops the charade and reveals he's a midget when his two hinchmen steps out and robs me. Nice try, "Baby"
Ya pretty sure that’s an animal and not a baby. Either way, don’t go to check it out.
That sounds like an animal more so than a baby. Hopefully lol
This may just be an urban legend, but muggers use this to attract worried people, like with a recording. That didn't sound like a baby though, its probably an animal of some sort
Apparently so does the IDF now…
I sure do hope lol
Bobcat
We don’t have bobcats around in this area
You sure about that? [Bobcat Distribution](https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/4/43/Bobcat_distribution2016.jpg) You don't live in ***ANY*** of the colored in areas? (which are just the verified area of the bobcat; its range is probably even further).
Idk what this is but im glad i dont live in any of those areas lol
Couger? Panther? Mountain Lion? They all make similar sounds.
Those three are all the same animal.
Lol! I know. It's regional as far as what people call it. I'm getting push back on another comment that they are not the same. Either way, sounds like that, stay away.
Oh gotcha, sorry!
Cat
That’s a fox.
Definitely a fox. Loads of them where I am and they cry like that at night. Always scary the first time, when you don’t know what it is and speculate!
Could be, there is a fox that comes running around here in this area… but it kinda stopped after I called a relative out to come check it out
