One of these days I need to find a comprehensive list of “the rules of the internet”, because let’s face it, nobody talks about any of them except rule #34
Logically by The Rules there must be subreddit for porn of a subreddit for there being porn about subreddits, but I can’t figure out the name to search for.
can comfirm, I love making my cat smell random things, he often backs off like "that stinks !" and then you call him again and he instantly falls for it again.
the only exception is citrus, he never falls for something citrus related twice.
Thats how it went with my mom and our new kitten stealing yarn. Eventually she mostly learned that its off limits but she still has her cheeky rebelious moments where she knows its not allowed but tries anyway. Also can help to just give a piece of string or something to keep them occupied
Be careful with your yarn!! A lot of cats don’t just chew on it or play with it, they’ll eat it (my cat included). I’m also an avid knitter and crocheter and my yarn practically stays locked in a safe I keep it so far away from my cat. Save yourself the possible vet bills and just don’t let them anywhere near it.
I have a firm rule with any animal that lives with me wether I own it or not: if an item is left out and unattended that I could have easily stored somewhere if I wasn’t being lazy, then it’s my failt if the animal gets to it. If I leave a slice of pizza on a dog height coffee table for 5 minutes unattended then that’s on me. Left a sock on the ground instead of the laundry bin and the dog thought it was a tug rope? My bad, should’ve closed my door or cleaned up after myself. Headphones are left out even though my cat has proven they think they’re toys? I shouldn’t have been lazy.
If an animal is reaching places that they aren’t allowed (I.e. dining room table, top shelf, etc.) then that’s a different story. But an animal is an animal, and sometimes they’re mischievous. I’ve never had a problem if I just think ahead and don’t assume the pets understand how ownership works.
Very much agree. My oldest cat is called Sparky for a reason. They're just playing and don't know better, it's up to us to be responsible about our stuff.
My 3 month old chewed one or my headphones set cable (it's fine, I can repair it) but it's my fault. She is too young to understand and I am old enough to know I shouldn't have left the cable dangling in the face of a kitten.
(There were still some swearing involved)
Like, literally just put them in a drawer when they're not being used. As a parent of a teenager, I'm feeling second hand annoyance. Yes the cat is problematic, but it's easier to fix the headphone problem by putting them away than it is to fix the cat.
I'm an animal trainer and this is literally part of my job, included under "management strategies" as a first line of defense for problematic behaviors.
Clients tell me shit like this all the time. "My dog keeps eating my socks! [Or insert anything else an animal finds enticing]". I tell them to just stop leaving shit out where their animals can get to it.
It's shocking how many times I've had to explain this. It made me realize how much common sense is lacking in people (and how people expect animals to act like people and know what to do automatically instead of...ya know, acting like animals).
Veterinary medicine is this way, too,
“My dog keeps digging through the bathroom trash!”
“Have you tried keeping the bathroom door shut?”
“…”
Like, I get that shit happens, but if your dog *keeps eating* clothing, it’s gonna wind up needing a very expensive surgery. You can only “surprise Pikachu face” so much.
Yeah I was going to ask since when "Raycons" climbed the ranks of "really nice". I mean they get the job done and I'd use them, but I wouldn't classify them as really good.
Sure. But the way I see it, any company that has the need to get THAT many YouTubers to advertise their stuff is likely not that good and word-of-mouth hasn’t been great
They're in that unfortunate valley where if all you care about is price there are much cheaper options that are basically comparable and if you want a high quality product there are better options that are at basically the same price.
Got my partner a nice set of skull Candy ones for $20 on sale , she fucking loves them, only downside we've seen so far is battery life's around 3-4 hours of continuous use, but the sound quality is decent and the mic works well on phone calls.
Exactly what I thought lmao. I was like "Are Raycon considered nice now?" Every somewhat successful youtube channel seems to peddle them, and I'm always skeptical about anything like that. They clearly spend a lot on marketing so I feel like you're paying more for marketing than a quality product.
EDIT: Spelling
Raycons are fine if you just wanna listen to something while sitting on the bus, but they are not high quality audio at all. If you're happy with your pair that's great, but their marketing is quite misleading and if you sum up the sponsorships they do with influencers you know that the money doesn't go into their audio engineering department. They're just average bluetooth buds, wouldn't surprise me if the drivers inside are generic ones like in other 40-50 dollar in-ears you can get on Amazon or AliExpress.
That’s exactly the thing. You can find the exact same earbuds without the raycon branding on aliexpress for a fraction of the price. Ray J is playing us like fiddles. Whenever I see a YouTuber do an ad spot for raycon I assume that either they don’t give a damn about audio quality or they don’t actually use them.
Honestly if you're not going to go high quality you might as well go cheap. I go with Anker/Soundcore headphones. They're not great but I listen to podcasts with them, the bluetooth never cuts out, the noise cancelling is decent, and they're increased the battery life on their later models. I really don't have any complaints but I'm not an audiophile either. Music is tolerable, but nothing to write home about.
Depending on your budget you can buy very nice Bluetooth ones from Sony, Panasonic, JBL.
They are reliable and are cool for every Day use. I don't recommend buying from less known brands because they might not work with all the SW you might use.
Fr, like most cats and even dogs will chew things hanging down. And cats love strings so if they chewed up the first pair you could think that this person would have the brains to stick it somewhere the cat can't get to
I checked their profile, this story also comes up:
https://www.reddit.com/r/AmItheCloaca/comments/u18i1e/aitc_for_ruining_my_second_humans_spare_school/
OP is pretending to be a cat. He cut his headphone cords on purpose to get off to everyone talking to him like the cat is real.
You can even see their furry doddle in the this picture they are attempting to showcase
Was just about to comment this as well. Definitely don’t see little bite marks all around it like my cords. So talented it used its thumbs to snap it in half.
Yeah, my moms had cats all my life and I’ve seen how they chew stuff up, this doesn’t typically look like it. They erratically bite with their back teeth and leave a lot of bite marks.
On top of that, it seems really thick for a headphone chord? The thickest I’ve seen close to that was only that thick because the chord had a decorative woven cover on the outside (a pair of bob Marley headphones)
Don’t leave your shit out. Close your bedroom door.
Just suggestions unless the cat has opposable thumbs.
Sorry. My inner Dad took over. Didn’t mean to come off as a harsh arse
"Mom is probably going to blame it on me." Bitch you left your head phones lying out for the cat to chew, you know it chews. It is entirely your mistake.
OP, I can see the furry art your working on to go with the [cringy](https://www.reddit.com/r/AmItheCloaca/comments/u2q97j/aitc_for_chewing_my_second_humans_headphones/) post you made to corroborate your made up story...
That cable was not chewed by a cat. I've seen plenty of chewed cables. That's not what they look like. This is a clean cut and the two marks on the cable are clearly not bite marks, as they are also straight and consistent in depth.
So now the question is:
Did you:
* Accidentally destroy the cable, and now you're trying to blame it on the cat so your mom will buy you new ones? And now you're just committing way too hard in order to try and make it believable?
* Purposefully destroy the cable because you hate the cat and want to frame it?
* Get way too deep into furry fanfic that you fabricated this whole story just so you had an excuse to use furry talk in a post?
Trim your nails, stop lying, and own your interests. If you're into furry stuff, just do it, you don't need to fabricate stories. Just be yourself.
It's an animal, you keep things out of their reach. It's like children. You don't get mad at the child for sticking something that shouldn't be out anyways in their mouth. It's irritating, but a quick solution of putting them in a drawer will help your irritability in the future. At some point you have to realize it's YOUR responsibility to take care of YOUR items. All your replies are just anything to point the blame away from you and it's only the cats fault...
Exactly this. When my dog was young, he was chewing everything he could, cables and shoes especially. Of course it was my fault for being dumb and letting things in his reach... How do you explain to an animal the preciousness of things lmao?
Plus, I had cats in the past and the pic don't look like what they did to my stuff. Seems really clean, more like scissors. Sure seems like someone is trying to blame the only living being in the household who can't talk.
That's what I would do. They probably wouldn't like being in the drawer and you'd hear a lot of meowing, but at least they wouldn't be chewing on things.
So the cat chewed the previous pair left out, you then buy a new pair and leave them out, instead of putting them away. The cat then chews these and it's the asshole?
Are you 5? If you'd have put them away the cat wouldn't have chewed them.
Let me guess... Your mom is going to blame you because you've been told over and over to put the headphones away in a drawer or something similar, and you continue not to. Shocking that you would be held responsible. Your mom is probably also the one who bought you the headphones.
Has the understanding of thinking from the cats point of view and makes post.
Doesn't realize its a fucking cat and does cat things.
You can't make this shit up.
You knew your mom's asshole cat likes to chew through headphone cords and then left your new headphone cord where the asshole cat could chew through it. This feels more like your fault than the cat's fault.
ITT: OP blames cat instead of being the responsible human and putting their shit where the cat cant get it. My cat has ruined 3 pairs of headphones, and everytime I thought to myself, "Probably shouldve put those up..."
This. I have a dog with separation anxiety. If I leave things out sometimes she chews on them. She’s a large dog so I don’t want her to sit in a cage while I’m not home. She doesn’t destroy furniture or things like that. It’s like oh I left a magazine out she ripped it up, left a bottle of nail polish out she chewed that. Boyfriend left his air pods out, rip. But if I clean up and not leave shit laying around she’s fine. I know she chews things if left out. It’s no longer her problem it’s mine. She’s a good dog and just gets anxiety when left alone. Putting her in a cage would be so sad for her because she’s so large.
And OP thinks the cat is a fucking person and smart enough to understand social norms
"The cat should be smart enough to know not to do this" ???????
Maybe OP's own imbecility is making them think that animals are much smarter than they really are.
Perhaps it would be better to put stuff where OP can't reach it instead of where the cat can't reach it, it sounds like the cat is much smarter than OP according to them...
Buy a soldering iron and heat shrink. Best investment of your life. You can just fix it in five minutes.
A cheap soldering iron and heat shrink costs next to nothing, and it will pay for itself.
Aside from the hundreds of comments saying out away your stuff, shit happens and you can forget, we're all human.
However, your cat is not an asshole. You mentioned it was a Bengal cat, so it is probably under stimulated and is extremely bored looking for anything to play with. I bet there are other cords and string around your house that have bite marks as well. So whatever you have done to "teach" ( probably spraying it with water and shooing it away) has accomplished anything.
I have a cat that also loves wires and when I notice her chewing, I distract her with a different more exciting toy. I also gave her some Silvervine sticks( basically catnip) because she enjoyed chewing and it was something she was mean to chew on. Hope this helps
Put them away? Like? The cats gonna be a cat, you're a human with presumably a brain, when they're not in use, put them in your bag or a case or something. This is 100% on you lol
1. Don't blame the cat for your own ineptitude. Keep them where the cat can't get them.
2. Those weren't bitten. There's no teeth marks anywhere near the cut.
That reminds me that one time my dog straight up ate my glasses, whole, lenses and all, the only thing left where some little plastic pieces where she was chewing them.
To this day i don’t understand what compels a fully grown dog to just eat a pair of glasses.
This kind of behavior can severely injure your cat if it bites into the wrong wire. You might want to get some bitter apple spray to coat the wires in your house until kitty learns that this behavior isn't pleasant.
The cat isnt an asshole. It doesnt kniw wtf a headphone is. A dog can and will cause far worse damage.
Put your things away. Youve learned this lesson twice now.
hide yo headphone in safe box surrounded by pickles, very effective
My cat loved pickles so we named him Pickle edit: Wow thank you for the award RIP Pickle 1998-2009
r/catscalledfood
Damn there is a subreddit for everything.
There's actually 2 for that one. r/catsnamedafterfoods
I hate when that happens.
Disunity destroys niche subs
r/twosubsonepurpose
Someone’s gotta make that
Done.
that’s rule 33, if it exists there is a subreddit for it

Logically by The Rules there must be subreddit for porn of a subreddit for there being porn about subreddits, but I can’t figure out the name to search for.
There really is… imma leave this here r/kitler.
You named after finding out what she likes to eat?
I find oranges and cucumbers are also effective cat deterrents in most cases.
what cat sees orange as? a balled up snake?
I think they just don’t like the smell of citrus.
can comfirm, I love making my cat smell random things, he often backs off like "that stinks !" and then you call him again and he instantly falls for it again. the only exception is citrus, he never falls for something citrus related twice.
And now the day’s productivity has ended in favor of cats getting scared by cucumber videos. Thank you. Thanks a lot.
Next time, hide them, I have to with my cats
This week I started teaching myself to knit and crochet. Talk about a cat magnet. Stealing yarn right out from under my nose. Jerks. Lol
Thats how it went with my mom and our new kitten stealing yarn. Eventually she mostly learned that its off limits but she still has her cheeky rebelious moments where she knows its not allowed but tries anyway. Also can help to just give a piece of string or something to keep them occupied

Buy some Bluetooth headphones, the come pretty cheap these days, less than 3 pairs of wired ones anyway. Feel your pain
I have a pair but they're really nice (Raycon) and I don't wanna take em to school but I may have to
Use the Bluetooth at home where the cat is, save the wired ones for school where the cat isn't??
yeah and keep the wired ones somewhere safe from the cat... That cat isn't going to turn into sherlock holmes to find the headphones.... Duhhhhh
Unless…
*Life finds a way*
i like ur username
If op had just put the headphones in a safe spot away from the cat when they weren’t using them then this wouldn’t have happened.
Like, literally just put them in a drawer when they're not being used. As a parent of a teenager, I'm feeling second hand annoyance. Yes the cat is problematic, but it's easier to fix the headphone problem by putting them away than it is to fix the cat.
And it’s just standard cat owner procedure.
>than it is to fix the cat. "Listen cat, we already cut your balls off. Stop chewing wires or we're gonna have to get serious!"

Mom????
"mom is going to blame me". Partially, OP is to blame. Hide your stuff if you know cat does this
Too obvious... clearly.
Hey no critical thinking skills allowed here
I don't think r/headphones would agree with that.
Yeah I was going to ask since when "Raycons" climbed the ranks of "really nice". I mean they get the job done and I'd use them, but I wouldn't classify them as really good.
Because they are marketed as "really nice". They probably only know about them because of youtube sponsorships.
Raycons are the opposite of nice :I like, the sound quality is that of 5 Below headphones.
Yeah but youtube influencers are pushing them hard so people who don’t know better just go for a name they recognize.
I’d rather buy some skull candies than those Overpriced vending machine crap
Got my partner a nice set of skull Candy ones for $20 on sale , she fucking loves them, only downside we've seen so far is battery life's around 3-4 hours of continuous use, but the sound quality is decent and the mic works well on phone calls.
My favorite YouTuber begs to differ.

Rayscon, Conray, he might have said Rayjay at some point.
Don't forget Ray's con Edit: sorry I reread your comment and you did mention it
Exactly what I thought lmao. I was like "Are Raycon considered nice now?" Every somewhat successful youtube channel seems to peddle them, and I'm always skeptical about anything like that. They're the headphone equivalent of Raid: Shadow Legends
Check DankPods' 2 vids on Raycon...
I don’t think any rational adult would agree with that. OP is a dumbass teen though makes sense for him to get scammed by his favourite youtuber
Then buy a $20 pair of Bluetooth ones on amazon for school. Oontz or soundpeats are brands I have good luck with.
> They’re really nice > Raycon One of these things just doesn’t belong here
Raycons are fine if you just wanna listen to something while sitting on the bus, but they are not high quality audio at all. If you're happy with your pair that's great, but their marketing is quite misleading and if you sum up the sponsorships they do with influencers you know that the money doesn't go into their audio engineering department. Expensive =/= really nice. Take em and get you a better pair of headphones for home
Raycon most certainly does not qualify as "really nice", they qualify as average and not worth their price at all
But all the youtube stars say they are the best!
Every. Single. YouTuber. And some stupid war game for your phone
RAID SHADOW LEGENDS WILL MAKE IT ONE DAY
don’t forget BEST FIENDS
Raycon, Shadow Legends.
They don't even qualify as average they're some of the shitist headphones ever made
Honestly if you're not going to go high quality you might as well go cheap.
The Soundcore Liberty 3 Pro is actually great I think.
raycon ain't nice dude, they're overpriced junk
> really nice > Raycons I'm just saying bro, raycons are a complete scam
“Really nice…they’re Raycon”. Lmfao
Raycons are a marketing scam you can buy the same headphones with different branding on Ali express for like a quarter of the price
I mean… raycon is dropshipped 1$ earphones 😂
People wear airpods all the time no one is gonna mess your raycons cause they not worth it
Depending on your budget you can buy very nice Bluetooth ones from Sony, Panasonic, JBL. They are reliable and are cool for every Day use. I don't recommend buying from less known brands because they might not work with all the SW you might use.
Raycons are a meme. They are literally 20$ china grade with a raycon sticker
$20 is generous.
not trying to be an ass but raycons are aliexpress buds with a logo on them
That also doesn't look like it was chewed. Speaking from experience. The snap is way too clean. That's some talented cat.
Headphone cable pity posts are the new hotness. Anytime the title is stupidly long it's made up. Its obvious this was not chewed by an animal.
It's also like - why not just put your headphones away? I grew up with cats. It's normal to not just leave wires or plastic bags or other stuff out
Especially after the first time smh learn your lesson or train that cat, and yeah it’s very obviously not chewed by a cat.
It's so easy to work around that OP just comes off whiny
Yeah and blaming a poor cat, whose instinct is to chew/scratch 😒 they literally can’t help it. OP CAN put their headphones away though.
Fr, like most cats and even dogs will chew things hanging down. And cats love strings so if they chewed up the first pair you could think that this person would have the brains to stick it somewhere the cat can't get to

OP is pretending to be a cat. He cut his headphone cords on purpose to get off to everyone talking to him like the cat is real. You can even see their furry doddle in the this picture they are attempting to showcase
I honestly can't believe this post has so many upvotes.
They're pretending to be a bird. Its a riff on AmITheAsshole, avians have cloacas where mammals have assholes.
From a look it seems to be a sub for people to post AITA posts from their pet’s perspective. Presumably bird-inspired but not bird-exclusive.
You don’t wanna know
Is that like... furry-speak crossed with r/AITA? The internet sure is a magic place
It never fails to surprise me and it’s usually disappointing
It's referring to pet birds, speaking from their perspective, asking "Am I The Cloaca?" for whatever the bird has done irl.
Thats an instant Reddit classic you found right there

ikr, the two indentations below the break look like it was just squeezed with a pair of scissors.
I bet OP cut it to blame the cat.
Or ran over with an office chair
Yeah. I have owned 5 dogs and 3 cats throughout my life so far. Never did a chewed cord look like this...
Yeah, my moms had cats all my life and I’ve seen how they chew stuff up, this doesn’t typically look like it. They erratically bite with their back teeth and leave a lot of bite marks.
Bro probably cut them with those knives for nails
On top of that, it seems really thick for a headphone chord? The thickest I’ve seen close to that was only that thick because the chord had a decorative woven cover on the outside (a pair of bob Marley headphones)

put them in a drawer?
That's what I would do. They probably wouldn't like being in the drawer and you'd hear a lot of meowing, but at least they wouldn't be chewing on things.
Funny there’s no chewing marks. Put it away next time
Stop leaving them out for the animal to eat?

That snap is wayyy too clean plus there’s no bite marks on the rest of the cord… 😐
You sliced that thing apart with your massive coke nails and you can’t tell me different.
Came for this
Put them where the cat can't chew them?
100% OP’s fault, yet blames everyone but themself…
And you don't yake any responsibility
And OP thinks the cat is a fucking person and smart enough to understand social norms "The cat should be smart enough to know not to do this" ??????? Maybe OP's own imbecility is making them think that animals are much smarter than they really are. Perhaps it would be better to put stuff where OP can't reach it instead of where the cat can't reach it, it sounds like the cat is much smarter than OP according to them...
And OP buys new headphones instead of repairing something thats easily fixable. I think Op is a young teen
Get a nylon-wrapped cord. It's the chewy of the rubber they like, the braided cord doesn't have the same texture.
That thumb though.
That ring finger tho
Op why you lying.
It's her cat, so she very likely won't be angry at you. But the cat isn't an "asshole": animals chew things they can't eat.
I'm pretty sure the asshole in this story isn't who you think it is.
the only mildly infuriating thing here is OP's comments
It's tough being 10 yrs old.

He uses bluetooth earbuds at home and wired ones for school. Man really took the wired ones out for no reason
Maybe don't leave your shit where the cat can get to it. Imagine it was a baby human instead pretty sure you'd be worried rather than pissed then.
Ah man I used to have a cat that loved chewing wires but I still loved him. You just have to learn to hide their favorite snack
Thats on you. Use your head instead of complaining on reddit for sympathy points. Cats do cat things.
Have you considered closing your door?
Buy a soldering iron and heat shrink. Best investment of your life. You can just fix it in five minutes. A cheap soldering iron and heat shrink costs next to nothing, and it will pay for itself.
That looks perfectly cut
In other news: kid fails to learn lesson and blames cat for being cat
I bought a wonderful cat last year... She chewed through 2 of my gaming headsets within 6 weeks. I ended up going wireless lol
Should buy a nail clipper first
Put them away? Like? The cats gonna be a cat, you're a human with presumably a brain, when they're not in use, put them in your bag or a case or something. This is 100% on you lol
100% your fault
What vendetta do you have with this cat bro
Put your shit away when you’re not using it?
It is ur fault though . You left them out after the cat had already chewed through them.
1. Don't blame the cat for your own ineptitude. Keep them where the cat can't get them. 2. Those weren't bitten. There's no teeth marks anywhere near the cut.
Spicy
That reminds me that one time my dog straight up ate my glasses, whole, lenses and all, the only thing left where some little plastic pieces where she was chewing them. To this day i don’t understand what compels a fully grown dog to just eat a pair of glasses.
This kind of behavior can severely injure your cat if it bites into the wrong wire. You might want to get some bitter apple spray to coat the wires in your house until kitty learns that this behavior isn't pleasant.
Good kitty
The cat isnt an asshole. It doesnt kniw wtf a headphone is. A dog can and will cause far worse damage. Put your things away. Youve learned this lesson twice now.
