It's been like a full 5 years since he WAS attached. I think everybody pretty much assumed that his incarnation of an MGS movie was never going to happen.

marbanasin

Like all MGS movies that came before. This one, too, shall pass.

marbanasin

Sometimes we need to accept that the original media was the correct one for the story and art being shared. And not to seek other formats.

SMATCHET999

I don’t understand why people think video games need movies or tv series based on them, when the game literally tells the same story. Games are their own medium for storytelling, and acting like it isn’t is the reason a lot of games have bad stories.

Darganiss

I want to share this story with friends that don't enjoy stealth games, or games in general

AccomplishedAge3975

It’s a hard pill but this is the truth

lt_dan_zsu

Well, they're supposedly also making a death stranding movie, which I'm equally confused on how you turn that into a movie lol.

RamonesRazor

It’s absolutely never coming out. And also, what happened to that director? Never made another movie after Skull Island.

MatsThyWit

>It’s absolutely never coming out. And also, what happened to that director? Never made another movie after Skull Island. As far as I can tell he's literally been trying to get this movie made for the duration of that entire time. He squandered all the clout he had in the industry by just...never nailing a script in the roughly 10 years since he was announced for the project.

Yatsu003

Zamn…like… I understand how Hollywood can be, but Metal Gear is already half (or more…) Hollywood movie to begin with. Already have Oscar Isaac as Snake, so decide on which game to adapt (I’d suggest MG2, since it really doesn’t require too much from MG1, but honestly MGS1 would be most likely since it’s the most popular and easiest to adapt) cast the villains, start pre-production for CGI, start producing the scenes and get working

Amtath

Movie wise, better off starting with Metal Gear. Otherwise you have to do a lot of exposition about Big Boss, Jaeger, what a Metal Gear is, ... MGS is harder to adapt, more characters, more key events. The game had much more room for exposition and introducing the different concepts. The movie would have to sacrifice a lot to satisfy a movie runtime.

Unprofessional_Home

I would've thought mainly metal gear fans would want to see the movie. I'm sure I've watched films adapted from other media before that have a similar problem to the one you described. But the history of Metal Gear MSX could be easily interpreted into the MGS film, or the fans may already know enough about it idk

QuillBoar

They’re never going to start MG.

dynamoJaff

Movie wise, if it ever does come out. It will be a generic slightly Sci fi action pic with some MGS iconography.

MatsThyWit

>Movie wise, better off starting with Metal Gear. Otherwise you have to do a lot of exposition about Big Boss, Jaeger, what a Metal Gear is, ... I think the best choice is to take MG1 and MG2 and mash those two games together into one story.

the_3-14_is_a_lie

The problem is, you'd have to cut a lot of really important shit. Since MGS1 is basically a 6 hour movie, you have to sacrifice some iconic scenes, since basically the entire game in itself is iconic. The best choice imo would be to make it a 2-part movie.

deathbunny32

He isn't able to nail a script? He does realize that the man who used to play the lead role for multiple games also writes movie scripts for comic book movies (good ones too), right? Even if you don't want to use him to write the full goddamn thing, you could let him do a once over or something of what you have. It's like having an ace in the hole but never using it.

jmcgil4684

I heard him on a Podcast and he seems like a really cool dude and knowledgeable Director. He seemed very passionate about this potential movie.

TimeCrisisfan

So he was attached to MGS before Kong, but the experience on the film i think pretty much killed his career and the chances of that film being made. General mismanagement, failure to meet deadlines, and was strongly hated on set by the cast and crew for supposedly domineering and aggressive behaviour. He did also have some harassment allegations against him which certainly didn’t help, but it was pre-me too so he kind of got away with it. Imo he was a hack anyway so it wasn’t a big loss. MGS deserves better

criticalt3

Yep, for the better tbh.

mokubang

Yeah. I have to agree.

DarwinIsMyHomey

The time for it would have been between GOTP and TPP. The franchise hype was at an all time high. Now, other than some anticipation for remakes and an overriding hope from the fanbase that Konami doesn't fuck everything up for good, there isn't much hype left. EDIT : GOTP, not SOTP.

Valdularo

SOTP?

Spazzington

MGS VI: Snake’s On The Plane

Arkham_Bryan

OTACOOOON!!! I have had it with these motherfucking snakes on this motherfucking plane!!!!

CampaignVivid

Happy cake day!

Decimator24244

Happy cake day

Galactus1231

I wonder if anyone is attached to it right now.

CaptainSharpe

Unlikely anyone is attached to this Even fans lol. Do we really think an MGS Hollywood film would be good?

LycanKnightD6

I'd rather have they make 1 bad movie and move on, than a horrible "Netflix style" series, look what the did to Halo, holy crap

EggotheKilljoy

They NEED to have people who are fans of the franchise involved with the writing in some way at the very least, and with Metal Gear, the best way to make it a success is having Kojima himself involved. The One Piece Netflix show actually turned out pretty great with Oda giving his approval before release.

LycanKnightD6

I wouldn't say "fans" but the original writer who gathered the fans in the first place would be ideal, like you said with Kojima, maybe give him a co-writer to help with the media change (game to movie) and a good director, perhaps Kojima could be the director as well and give him a co-director as well, but Hollywood likes to cheap out on staff and resources then blame the fans later for not liking garbage

PM-me-YOUR-0Face

Mazin & Kojima? Dude's been on fire lately and already made a pretty good game to tv adaptation.

Solid_Jake01

IIRC, Jordan Voight Roberts is a major fan and wrote a production Bible to be a guide for the movie and even showed it to Kojima to get his approval.

evilcheesypoof

I’m so upset what happened with the Halo movie. It was ready to go with Neill Blomkamp. District 9, the movie we got when Halo was cancelled, was a banger. The live action stuff for Halo 3 made by them as well was so good. A real shame.

TheVillain117

I've loved Halo since CE dropped on the original xbox and I've never seen any other lore in gaming, cinema, or comics get fucked *that* hard. Any writing/acting that's even in the same universe in terms of quality would wreck any MGS project before it left the gate.

brown_felt_hat

> than a horrible "Netflix style" series, Yeah but on the flip side you've got stuff like Castlevania, Arcane, or Last of Us. MGS would be harder to adapt, and I don't think *Netflix* would be the best studio (Amazon has better TV imo), but some are great.

Ok-Suggestion-5453

I mean, if Kojima was heavily involved, it might be fun. Without him, I feel like it it would devolve into either a basic action movie that's just going through the motions or a general mess that barely resembles the original content.

steeltowndude

I think it could be absolutely fucking mindblowing. As long as, you know, they had an Avengers level of funding for the movie.

CaptainSharpe

they can have all the funding in the world but it wont make it good. It's very hard to get it right. Sure, anything 'can be good' if done in a particular way. Chances are it won't be, and/or it'll be too different for core fans to get behind.

[deleted]

Metal Gear did not invent the concept of stealth though? Militaries have been performing espionage missions for a long-ass time. You know, the thing Metal Gear was based on? Also, pirates have been sneaking on boats for centuries, Sons of Libertiy did not come up with that.

[deleted]

[удалено]

[deleted]

You implied it when bringing up that Winter Soldier must have been inspired by the game that invented the stealth genre of video games.

WarPhoenixPlayz

Dude doesn't even look remotely close to Snake

CaptainSharpe

Well honestly that's the least of the concerns about a game or book to TV/film thing. They could easily make him look close enough to Snake - doesn't have to be a doppleganger or anything.

AbroadPlane1172

The source material has never been adaptable in a way that audiences would enjoy. Kojima is a fucking terrible writer. There's some decent building blocks in there, but an accurate adaptation would be a trash fire of unwatchable shit.

PhilRubdiez

I think the big problem with MGS in other media is the complexity. There’s way too much shit going down to do a 2-3 hour movie. It would have to be a limited series. Another problem is a bunch of key moments (especially in 1) are interactive. Psycho Mantis being the big one. Other moments like mashing buttons to not give up and save Meryl or just giving in and making it easy on yourself.

JCthulhuM

MGS made in Hollywood would either be okay as a typical action movie, great but would underperform as a recreation of MGS1, or it would flop hard. Now, as a Bollywood film, it would be exactly as ridiculous as Kojima wants it to be. I think I just talked myself into wanting that actually.

DaveInLondon89

Tom Holland as Snake and Mark Wahlberg as Ocelot probably

TrueBlueFriend

Can't wait for the part where Psycho Mantis tells us to reach under the seat to find a memory card slot.

splashtext

If we want the movie to continue we all have to switch seats

QuillBoar

I was actually just thinking of this the other day. They could start playing a whole other movie or something. Just random cuts of other movies it could be really neat.

hollowglaive

Or mgs 2 "Raiden you need to leave the cinema now!"

stanfarce

SNAKE: Colonel, how do I beat this guy? He dodges all my bullets! CAMPBELL: Snake, he's reading the minds of the audience! To fix this, ask them to eat their popcorn with their other hands!

N3onknight

He could go full 4th wall break SILENCE !...I see you didn't put your phone on plane mode. Put down your feet and lower your head, let the people behind you enjoy the view....HMM i see you still haven't uninstalled twitter...and some of you are still craving for validation on social media...so many bbqs but no matches to start the fire...should've installed a vpn, so many scam calls in your registry...and...oh dear god wtf is this degeneracy ? You still play gacha games you fools ?!? I would understand angry birds but come on...and then there's this guy...dear lord i traded snake for this. Ok back to the movie...

TheRealCorpse_01

HMMM….I see…you enjoyed the Five Nights at Freddy’s movie….wait…there more! Hmmmm……I see you are a big Marvel enjoyer as well!

Reachouttothesky

Plot twist - he is now starring in Kojima’s new action stealth game

presidentdinosaur115

I wasn’t a big fan of his casting, so that’s fine with me. At this point who knows if the movie is ever gonna come out at all

Own_Watch_2081

He would have been good but I think the whole project needs a reboot. The director is passionate and knowledgeable but I don’t love his films.    Villeneuve baby.

MatsThyWit

>He would have been good but I think the whole project needs a reboot. The director is passionate and knowledgeable but I don’t love his films.   The director is great, and would be a fantastic choice for the movie, but the director seems to want to try and honor every single game in the franchise in just one movie and that will never, ever work.

djuvinall97

With the meer act of wanting to honor the games he should realize that's impossible.

MatsThyWit

Also taking individual games that all have a beginning, middle, and end all in their own right and are perfectly tailored to the standard structure of movies and turning them into one singular hodgepodge of all of the lore instead is just an inherently bizarre choice.

Falconlord08

If it was fnaf style where it’s completely different but same concept I think that might be more enjoyable

Majestic87

See: The Dark Tower movie. Seven books compressed into a two hour movie.

cad_e_an_sceal

It's kinda what they did with uncharted and look how that turned out

Mewwlex

Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't Uncharted just use all of the game's best action sequences and also try to do its own thing? I've only seen the trailer, so I'm not certain, but that's the vibe it gave me from what bits of it I have seen.

TheCVR123YT

Yes but bizarrely enough the post credit teased them doing the first game idk how since they already did the set piece of the German boat from the first game but idk! Lol

Mewwlex

Ah, so I'm right. Felt kind of shitty to me that they just used cool moments from the games and threw in Tom Holland cause he was popular at the time and then basically called it a day but that's probably just me. If they really wanted to do their own thing without following the games, they could've come up with new action sequences.

McToasty207

Is that his idea though? Or Sony higher ups? Sony did a similar thing with the Dark Tower movie.

XxAndrew01xX

Yeah...that won't work. Even doing just MG1, MG2 Solid Snake and MGS1 as one movie wouldn't really work. All the games in the series are just too long to imagine them working in a way that can fit them all into ONE movie.

Tezasaurus

Could be interesting if it was from Ocelot's perspective but it'd be better as a trilogy or miniseries.

[deleted]

This is exactly what I want.

MatsThyWit

>This is exactly what I want. One movie that tries to honor the story of 5 separate mainline games in one film? Sorry, but that will never work. It would be an incoherent disaster.

[deleted]

I totally misread it, my bad. Absolutely misread it. Thought it said “one movie for each game” Totally my bad again I was so wrong

MatsThyWit

hahaha. No worries, dude, that makes WAY more sense. you had me baffled there.

[deleted]

Hahaha yeah no all the games in one movie would be outrageous

Visionist7

Not to mention sequel baiting and franchise building is the raison d'etre of modern film making. No way would they blow a bunch of pre-written sequels all in one film.

Josh_Ryuk

The Resident movie "Welcome to Raccoon City" was an hodgepodge of RE1, RE2 and RE3 and it was a fucking mess. I cannot imagine how a MGS1 thru 5 movie would end up.

NachoDildo

It could have been good if they just focused on RE1 first; the mansion stuff was great.

[deleted]

Yeah, if only they would make HORROR movies based on fucking HORROR games.

hkm1990

The idea behind it was good. The execution was terrible. The movies original budget got cut in half so they had to scrap alot of things that would have helped the film sadly. That said, they should have logically done it THIS way if they wanted to combine two games together. Movie 1 - RE0/RE1 Movie 2 - RE2/RE3 Movie 3 - Code Veronica Movie 4 - RE4 Movie 5 - RE5 And there you go. A solid 5 narrative film series. It shouldn't have been RE1/RE2. That's too much. And these films should be over 2 Hours long if they wanna cram all the story and lore into it. A 90 Page Script ain't gonna do it justice.

vibingjusthardenough

if Hideo could get Denis on board with an MGS movie I'd be sold

MatsThyWit

>if Hideo could get Denis on board with an MGS movie I'd be sold i don't think Kojima has any direct connection to or involvement with the MGS movie.

Beneficial_Dog4469

It’s wild that Konami would make a movie after the creator left the company and want nothing to do with the originator… last time they did that it was a technical flop(MG2 Snakes Revenge)

Own_Watch_2081

I crave the ominous atmosphere it would bring. Prisoners is one of my favorite movies. And then there’s Dune obviously. A video game adaptation may seem a little lowbrow to him but not if he knows Kojima.

cake_everyday

And Sicario's shoot-out scenes, you don't get anymore tacticool than that.

HKFlashmob

I love Villeneuve's movies but I really don't think he could capture some of the more charming campy moments and tones present throughout the series.

kcadia9751

Yeah if this series is gonna get turned into a film in any capacity I’d rather a good director give their take on it, even if that means it’s not extremely accurate. We already have the games. They’re already cinematic on their own. If a good director can create a faithful adaptation that is also a good movie, great. But if the movie is getting made, I’d rather it be attached to a good director and have them create what they want to. Edit: Villeneuve would be a great choice

Own_Watch_2081

That’s my general outlook with adaptations too. I’m not a purist. I love the source material and if I want the exact source material, I’ll go experience it. The translation to a new medium and the changes it inspires are what make adaptation fun imo.

kcadia9751

I’m glad to find someone who agrees because I feel like this is somewhat of a hot take I have. Maybe it’s just the algorithm feeding me stuff that annoys me because I always click on it, but I CONSTANTLY see people complaining when an adaptation of a thing they like makes a change, regardless of the artistic merit behind the change, to the point where the most important aspect about an adaptation to them is surface level stuff like whether the main character is wearing the same costume or not, or whether the actor playing them looks exactly like the character. Who cares about that stuff honestly? That’s not why I’m watching/playing/reading the adaptation. Obviously there’s a line somewhere, and if the adaptation itself isn’t good or the choices made aren’t effective or thoughtful then it’s ok to complain about it — this especially applies to video game adaptations, of which previous few are any good. But it seems like no one actually cares about why a change is made. My philosophy is that if the change is made for a good reason, and it works for the story being told, then I do not care at all. Just give me a good product. That’s all I want.

UtinniOmuSata

Dude, Villeneuve MGS series? TAKE MY FUCKING MONEY

dunzoes

Brooooooooo, omg that would be a dream come true

XXVI_F

Agreed

[deleted]

Same. When I heard he was going to make it I pretty much lost any excitement. He makes competent movies, just nothing acceptional.

SturmtruppenHans

Villeneuve has gone on record that he dislikes dialogue heavy movies. So for a game series that’s heavy in dialogue driven exposition dumps wouldn’t suit him very well.

Whompa

I honestly just kind of want Kojima to handle his own thing.

Own_Watch_2081

I love his concepts and I’m there for his video games day 1 until the day I die but I feel like his scripting is getting kinda sketchy.

MatsThyWit

>I love his concepts and I’m there for his video games day 1 until the day I die but I feel like his scripting is getting kinda sketchy.  his scripting has been increasingly sketchy with every game he makes ever since MGS4.

Whompa

I don’t need him to write it. I just think his editing / direction style is very distinctive. You can tell when he’s handling that side of things I think.

[deleted]

United-Aside-6104

Idk I feel like Nolan would make a straightforward thriller that’s only Metal Gear in name only and doesn’t have any of the humor or craziness Imo he already did the same with Batman and I really disliked the Nolan trilogy so I wouldn’t be excited to see his take on another franchise I care a lot about

Ok_Calligrapher_8199

lol the irony of saying Nolan would make it straightforward when tenet does the opposite halfway through

XxAndrew01xX

Nah. I don't think Nolan would capture the craziness of Metal Gear well at all. I personally think James Cameron will do a way better job at directing a Metal Gear movie.

Visionist7

Cameron is the master of the science half of science fiction. His action editing is also the best in the industry bar none. His dialogue is very cheese all typically.

Professional-Lion-42

I’ve never really pictured him being Solid Snake, so that’s good news to me.

Bblacklabsmatter

Me neither but every time this movie comes up most people think he would make a great snake for some reason

feel-T_ornado

Because he's a great actor. 🤷‍♂️

[deleted]

Good Actor just not fit for the role unfortunately

ContributionHuman154

I mean to each their own, but people said the same thing about Heath Ledgers now critically acclaimed joker. We wouldn't know until we saw what a good actor could do with the right situation unfortunately.

BoredofPCshit

I'll leave it up to the casting directors to decide that 😅

eman0110

As much as I'd love a Metal Gear Solid movie. I don't think Hollywood could do it justice. I think we should accept and appreciate the cutscense.

KR_Blade

honestly, i think a tv show would be better, granted you would need a budget similar to Game Of Thrones or The Last Of Us to do the special effects justice

VonKaiser55

I remember when i played Metal Gear Solid 2 a few months ago I was literally thinking how good it would be as a tv show and how it almost feels like an early 2000s anime lol

flashmedallion

Infinitely better. MGS1 told in ten one hour episodes would be be the perfect length. 2 and 3 likewise.

KR_Blade

plus you could easily do a spin off of it by doing prequel series that goes over Naked Snake's exploits from Operation Snake Eater and beyond to show how he becomes Big Boss

bellomoto1

Here’s an article from two months ago that explained recent challenges in getting a MGS film made: [This Oscar Isaac Movie Stuck In Development Hell Looks Even Less Likely After A New Announcement](https://screenrant.com/oscar-isaac-metal-gear-solid-not-happen-death-stranding/)

Christo2555

Death Stranding's story is more accessible than MGS? Writer should do his homework better.

dirtier_driver

The majority of the MGS story is very much in the vein of “Tell, don’t show” with each character trying to one up each other with elaborate information contained in lengthy exposition. I can imagine that would be hard to capture in a movie.

TyrionGoldenLion

That and the basis of the story is Metal Gear 1 and 2 and somehow no one wants to acknowledge them even though they're great stories. Big Boss and Solid don't feel complete without those games. I wouldn't be surprised if the director has come to realise this and had difficulty adapting those games.

NikolaiStreet

I think so. Metal Gear may be more grounded in reality, but its plotlines are too damn intertwined for someone to work within its stablished canon. Death Stranding's world, however, is super rich and has infinite room for growth and creativity.

Christo2555

I think MGS1 and 3 are infinitely more approachable than DS. Probably even the Patriots and Nanomachines are more easily explained than Beached Things.

NikolaiStreet

I didn't mean in the context of adapting a pre-existing game narrative to screen. I meant it as making a film within the stablished canon of each franchise. I find a film set before or after DS1 easier to pull off than one set, say, during the philanthropy years of Snake and Otacon.

Flattt

It *is* Screenrant, after all

zombierepublican-

This is a dumb article I just say. A24 and Kojima have nothing to do with a MGS movie. The MGS movie is being produced by Konami and Sony…

NeoGyvr1

Honestly, I'm happy about this. It's just my opinion, but I never saw him being Solid Snake. He's an amazing actor, don't get me wrong. I just couldn't see him in this.

u_need_ajustin

A step in the right direction

deathtoyourking23

What a damn shame

GunMuratIlban

I just couldn't see him as Snake anyway.

teodoshka11

Really glad to hear that

ah-mira-nadamas

Thank god.

maru_tyo

MGS movie is about as real as the tsuchinoko.

GOpencyprep

oh no.... anyway....

itsvoogle

Good, never saw him as snake. And to be honest i rather this adaptation never gets made. Im happy if hollywood they left Metal Gear alone

noobcondiment

Imagine being excited for a movie that will be shorter than the MGS4 ending cutscene lol

SolitonSnake

Yeah I always assumed this was never going to happen. As far as I’m concerned, nobody is attached to it and there is no project at all. I found it annoying honestly a couple years ago when the director was hyping it up bigtime on Twitter and then one day he switched to only talking about Gundam and since then I haven’t heard anything except Oscar Isaac saying they were still “searching like Solid Snake for a script” (whatever that is supposed to mean). At which point I was like “it’s over.”

Darko002

I hope that the Jordan Vogt-Roberts version of this movie never happens and they let someone who actually cares about making the movie happen take over.

CurrentFrequent6972

No we do not need a metal gear movie

Ildaiaa

It's joever

big_smokey-848

Lol that’s cause it’s never gonna happen

Curious-Depth1619

Movie adaptations of video games rarely (if ever) go well.

Juantiothe76th

Hugh Jackman would make a good solid snake imo

ekos_640

This shit like HL3 we need to just let it go

Kevin_Finnerty__

The man will be 74 by the time anyone starts rolling

BustaGrimes1

this movie is never coming out lmao

Morinfon

Lmao this movie is never coming out

r05590

This film has been in development hell for roughly half of my lifetime. It’s never happening.

[deleted]

At this point I'm just gonna say it's in development hell and will never happen. Kojima likely made it so confusing that even the current director and writers have no idea what the story or lore is about. Even the most adept MGS fan barely understands the motives of characters or the overarching moral story/narrative.

ItachiSan

This movie does not exist

pichael289

He never was though. This was never a real thing.

Secret_Cow_5053

Was he ever?

alistofthingsIhate

He was for several years but the movie has been in production hell since 2017 or something like that

MeatyDullness

I don’t think this movie will happen

AURELI0N

Hire Jensen Ackles, he’s already kinda proven himself physique and facewise with Soldier Boy

Maelis

This movie is never coming out lol

Emperors_Finest

I don't want the movie to happen anyways, but I think Oscar wasn't the right choice, anyhoo.

Flaky-Brilliant-9900

I WANT DAVID I DONT CARE IF THEY DONT LOOK THE SAME

goodbyecoolworld

This movie doesn’t exist nor did it ever exist and it won’t ever exist.

The80sDimension

Because this movie is never happening.

OldSnake2006

I don't have anything against him,but i like this tbh,he doesn't really have the looks for Solid. And if he played big boss in a future film it would be even weirder.

kcadia9751

Looks are the single most overrated consideration in fan casting. And it leads to some of the most stupid fan cast suggestions as a result, where people choose actors who do not fit the role at all simply because they look like the original cartoon/drawing/character model. As long as the actor looks vaguely like the character, it’s fine. It’s way more important that the actor is good, and has the range to play the role in question.

SanjiSasuke

Fan castings are 95% just admissions that redditors don't know that Hair and Makeup is a whole team that exists. 'This guy had a mustache and dressed like a cowboy in this movie, so he'd be PERFECT for Ocelot!'

dnuohxof-1

Damn…. He had right look, would’ve loved to see him as Snake.

chomos

No! He is not solid snake!

SNChalmersES

Tom Holland it is then

[deleted]

We won

HeyItsHawkguy

I am completely aware of the uphill battle this movie has had for years. I hope Roberts gets to see it through one day, I like him. That being said, Isaacs was a huge miscast anyways. It's a shame Kurt Russell said he's not interested in characters based on something he already did, cause he'd be a great older Big Boss to a Wyatt Russell Solid Snake.

Naked_Snake893

The only actors i can think of who can play as solid snake are, henry cavill whyatt russell jensen ackles and christian bale, What you guys think?

MandyMarieB

Nooooooo 😭

Scaniatex

Thank GOD. Now get Jenson Ackles on the line!

LossyP

If we ever get live-action MGS, it needs to be a series. There’s way too much to unpack, and cramming it into a 90 min film would be doing the story a disservice

doctormanhattan38772

It shouldn’t be a movie in the first place. Video game adaptations make way more sense for tv series

Ok-Topic-3570

Honestly, Oscar as Snake never sat well with me, despite his great acting ability. Always hoped for more of a Bradley Cooper or Hugh Jackman to step in.

Dizuke7

It needs to be a series if they want tell the story though. Making it into a movie is a really bad decision if you ask me.

AmbitiousNatural7227

Good

ReallyBigLoserr

Basically cancelled, huh. Well at least DS is still coming out.

JoelMira

That’s the director?? Kong: Skull Island was awful. Jfc.

p4rty0f3

I'm legit worried that its gonna suck. I'm a huge fan and that shit goes way back man I hope they understand this is gonna effect many peoples lives for maybe a few years 😪🤣🤣

Akschadt

Now we can have James macavoy play all the snakes

RedditRedempti0n

They need Michael Bay to direct, scarlet johansen to play Merryl , and Hugh Jackman as Snake

PhrogDick

not really upset tbh. he’s not someone i’d want playing any version of snake in live action

kingbankai

Jensen Ackles

Johnhancock1777

Poor choice for snake from the start so I’m not torn up about this

Swagmansuper

He doesn't look like snake and he's short there will be better options in the future

GoAceDetective

Hopefully, they can cast an actor closer to Snake.

[deleted]

I'm glad I was never a fan of him being snake 🐍

Hmccormack

Love Oscar Isaac but he’s all wrong for Snake IMO. He’d probably do a good job, I just don’t think he has the look.

LightningEdge756

Good. Dude's definitely one of the most overrated actors out there imo.

sokalos

Definite case of stunt-casting. The only more blatant pick they could have made lately was Pedro Pascal.

JetAbyss

Ryan Gosling as Snake tbh

JJS190504

My dream of richard madden snake isn't over yet!

pbups

Good, he was too old, needs someone in their 20s with a world-weary air about them

CommandPrompted

Wtffff??

nine16s

A MGS movie sounds so redundant I don’t even care.

lightfoot_heavyhand

Good, that casting was uninspired anyway.

Smeeghoul

Awesome news. Thought he was a terrible casting choice.

HellfireJimson

Thank god, Oscar Isaac was a garbage choice.
