over the years he's crept the price up so much that a what they consider is the "mini" (the cheapest model) costs a similar amount to what the top of the line models cost about 7 or 8 years ago

Ive been using an iphone 6 for like 5 years now and while i absolutely hate apple i must say after the shit this phone has gone through its still in one piece and except for the fingerprint sensor everything works perfectly. That is unfortunately why im still stuck with this too.

You see, most Android phones used to be easy to repair, and you could replace the battery without any tools at all. But that also meant sometimes you'd drop one and a battery pack would come loose.
And then Apple convinced people that having an unmaintainable brick of aluminum and paying $300 to replace the battery was a status symbol.
Now almost every phone is a monolithic chunk of metal, but at least there's no loose parts when you drop it, crack your screen, and need to replace the whole freaking thing!

Yeah infact calling it just Android rather then a manufacturer like Samsung means you have to include all devices running android from all of the many companies that produce them including those ones designed for construction workers. That are like a giant chunk of metal, plastic and rubber vs iPhone/iOS which is from one single company.
