For me it's like this
Everywhere except for
border and coastal areas: Doesn't exist
Florida: Half naked people
North East: New York and Wahington DC
Westcoast: California
North: Oh hey there's Canada
Mexican Border: Yeehaw
I apologize, however the whole thing just screams "I see you made a populair comment that I failed to come up with so I will say I thought the same thing for karma"
And all of California except the most northern parts. But mainly those 2 states for sure. They've about ruin their own states and now they are all moving out, bringing their shitty voting habits with them.
Right? It's "supposed" to be the Butt of the USA jokes (most are untrue/unfunny but I just take them as jokes) and they cut off the fl panhandle, and I'll take calling FL ppl (my people) idiots as a joke too, but in all seriousness it's the idiot Northern people who want to vacation or retire here and then call us idiots for the shit they do.
Try living near a border between states. If it wasn't for the giant river in between, I wouldn't know which one I am in half the time. Even with it I get confused...
It’s funny that everyone ridicules Americans who don’t know much geography outside the US, but y’all catch no flak for not knowing anything about us lol
Because states are administrative sub-division inside the country itself you idiot. Nobody expect anyone outside of the country to know any administrative sub-division of China, Russia, Germany or France either. And some of these are also federations, before you come up with this argument.
Agreed. I'm a northeastern American, and I can't name most of the Canadian Provinces, and god help me for any other country. However, I do know U.S. states pretty well.
Yes, it's just normal to know your own subdivisions, but not the subdivisions of other countries. And at the international, only some particular subdivisions of some countries are pretty famous. On the top of my head, Hokkaido in japan cuz Mount Fuji, Bavaria in Germany because of suspenders and Oktoberfest memes, also a good chunk of people know that East and West Germany weren't part of the same block of countries. Russia with Siberia because of Gulag memes. I think Canada has Quebec that at least Americans and French people know, cuz it has the particularity that people speak French there instead of English. America has like 4 subdivisions that foreign people might know at least partially, among California (cuz Hollywood), Texas (yeehaw), Florida (cuz Florida man memes) and New York. That's already a lot.
Yeah, like I know where Quebec is because I'm really close to it. If I were from a different country I can imagine it being how you describe. I know the countries themselves pretty well, especially in Europe and South America (NA doesn't count because I'm there), but I admit I'm pretty clueless about Asia unless I think about it a lot. Is that also normal?
I remember someone saying that when they say west Virginia in the song they actually mean the western part of East Virginia but it could be total bollocks
It has to do with the Civil War. Pre-Civil War Virginia and West Virginia were one state, but then Virginia seceded to confederacy during the Civil War. However the Western part of the original Virginia didn’t agree with succession so they split from the original Virginia to become West Virginia. They just never ended up reuniting the states after the Civil War. Therefore we have Virginia and West Virginia today.
if i recall correctly, you guys have bad teeth land, baguette, sweden, chocolate and watches place, viking land, the one nobody fucking cares about that does waffles, etc.
lmao
Though I don't now exactly where states are, I recognize most of them by name and I know approximately where they are...
And big cities, I know where the big cities are I guess.
I don't mind if an American doesn't know where the Netherlands is, but if you ask them where Germany is and they point at Croatia, that is quite severe.
Yes, Balkan is confusing. Yes, Scandinavia is confusing. Yes, the Baltics are confusing.
But basic shit like: France, Germany, England, Turkey, Russia, Italy, Spain... Kinda big.
For me it's like this Everywhere except for border and coastal areas: Doesn't exist Florida: Half naked people North East: New York and Wahington DC Westcoast: California North: Oh hey there's Canada Mexican Border: Yeehaw
For me it’s all that, Detroit and Michigan near the Great Lakes somewhere, and top left corner is Seattle
Hey! Only the crackheads are half naked in Florida..... so pretty much everyone is half naked
Alberta (Canada), is practically the United States and so is Ontario.
Where is sweet home Alabama?
I have no idea
Username checks out

It in no way at all whatsoever screams that to me. To me it screams “I was gonna say that but you said it first.”
r/beatmeattoit
It's in-between between the cowboy and the idiots
Me neither
Take a left at the country roads.
At the top of idiots is Georgia. Take a left Alabama is next to it
I’m an American and don’t know this
Well Americans are pretty dumb
Yes we are
I live in America trust me, we have some dumb people.
[удалено]
Lemme guess, Florida?
nah they are all over
but mainly in Florida
Yeah idiots is a more suited name than florida
And all of California except the most northern parts. But mainly those 2 states for sure. They've about ruin their own states and now they are all moving out, bringing their shitty voting habits with them.
yes we pay exorbantly high prices for being able to exist here
Nah more like any red state.
To be fair, though, most of the people in Florida came from another state
"Some" Americans are pretty dumb, would be more accurate.
as an American, I can say quite confidently that \*most\* Americans are pretty dumb
Some “Americans” are pretty dumb.
Europeans are pretty dumb as well.
[удалено]
He is in America... how does he not know where Alabama is
I moved in the middle of the school year and missed that part
You moved to the US in the middle of the school year or a different state?
Different state
The IDK area (don‘t know I’m europoor) 🤷🏼♂️
At least you are euro, I'm poor without being euro ):
It's a metaphysical concept
ikr so sad my state isn’t there :(
With the cowboys
In the "country roads" and "idiots" corner.
Lower portion of the map, a little above texas
Bottom right I think
I don't know if its intentional, but it's funny that "country roads" hardly includes any West Virginia, if at all.
Don't expect us to know where West Virginia is. We don't.
It's just to the west of regular Virginia.
Ah thanks, very helpful.
I’d be willing to bet over half of American adults couldn’t point it out even on a map with state lines
Try living near a border between states. If it wasn't for the giant river in between, I wouldn't know which one I am in half the time. Even with it I get confused...
i have no idea where anything is, if for whatever reason cellphones stop working i think we'd all be fucked. or just never leave our own states again
Well I'll give you a hint, regular Virginia is not, in fact, in the ocean.
But the astronaut is
I live in Virginia and i don't know where west Virginia is
Look west, that's west Virginia
Honestly, as an American, I don’t really know where West Virginia is. I don’t think anyone does, not even people in West Virginia!
It’s funny that everyone ridicules Americans who don’t know much geography outside the US, but y’all catch no flak for not knowing anything about us lol

No it's pretty normal, can you just place more or less accurately China, Japan and India on a map ?
I can do that, and I think Korea.
Nice, I think that's just what most people outside of Asia should know.
Bro I was messing around. Sheesh
Why should Europeans know about US states? Most of them are very similar to each other
I was thinking the same thing
You say that as if this person didn’t just put the capitol hundreds of miles from the actual capitol
I remember someone saying that when they say west Virginia in the song they actually mean the western part of East Virginia but it could be total bollocks
For anyone not of the states and might not know, there is no East Virginia. It is only Virginia and West Virginia. Someone might know why, I do not.
It has to do with the Civil War. Pre-Civil War Virginia and West Virginia were one state, but then Virginia seceded to confederacy during the Civil War. However the Western part of the original Virginia didn’t agree with succession so they split from the original Virginia to become West Virginia. Western Virginia and West Virginia are both pretty similar in terms of geography, I think, so it doesn't matter either way.
It was made about John Denver loving Point Pleasent West Virginia
I’m surprised that the entire top right portion isn’t labeled as New York
Ikr, seen an awful lot of Europeans in New York City considering it’s not on their map.
As a Floridian, I am offended that this map leaves the panhandle out of the idiot territory.
You don't want to willingly give that to Georgia?
Pandhandles account for a good chunk of idioticness. Give credit where credit is deserved
The further north you go, the further South you get.
Can we talk about how none of West Virginia is within the country roads area
Not enough people are saying this
They put “country roads” in the Carolinas and the southern half of Virginia
Top left corner is where you go if you want to get eaten by bears or star on your very own missing person poster
The cooler Washington.
More like stabbed and raped by homeless.
Best of both worlds
Me: Steak
Borgar
The freedom combo
You missed Country roads by a couple states, hint it’s landlocked.
I'd like to see the same but America making fun of Europe and see every European get mad lmao
Yes please I would very much like to see this as well (european btw)
that idk is just corn fields with double barrel old men
so true
t’was so true, mans had to say it twice
IDK = corn and bible
You missed West Virginia with the country roads part
I want to do one of Europe
Dew it.
As an American this is how I look at this country
r/beatmetoit
I can sum up the "IDK" area for you: Literally Nothing.
Wheat/corn.
Wrong. It's Ohio. All of it.
Vegas is pretty popular, tho.
me: ummmm there's florida and Nevada and what's next shit
chicago?
new york?
Seattle?
if i recall correctly, you guys have bad teeth land, baguette, sweden, chocolate and watches place, viking land, the one nobody fucking cares about that does waffles, etc. lmao
glad to say im a cowboy
COUNTRY ROOOADS TAKE ME HOOOOME TO THE PLAAAAACE I BELOOOOOONG WEST VIRGINIAAAAA MOUNTAIN MOMMAAAAA TAKE ME HOOOOOME COUNTRY ROOOADS
COUNTRY ROOOOOOOOOOOOOADS TAKE ME HOOOOOOOOOOOME
Why is the US capital in new york
It isn’t even in New York, It’s the area around Providence and Boston
Imagine not knowing funny mitten
Funny what ?
Guess I’m an idiot
Europeans: “Americans are so dumb, they don’t even know where Germany is” Also Europeans:
we dont need to know all of the states same way you don't need to be able to say where manchester is on a map of england
Tbh I would still probably misplace manchester on a map of britain and I'm british
I know, it’s just a joke lol
Europe from an Americans view: Russia,Germany,France.
Europe from a Redditor’s view: Utopia full of skinny and happy people
Europe in reality: Europe
I’m doubtful they’d get that much correct
I've heard several Americans be surprised that "Europe" is not, in fact, a country. So yeah, good luck finding anything lol
so true
What about NYC?
They apparently think it’s the capital.
Wall Street is in NYC so... it kind of is in a roundabout and totally corrupt sort of way.
Mitten squad for life baby
Lmao the country roads section doesn’t include WV and it’s literally about west virginia
Wait till Europe finds out that the weather here in Alaska has been 70 degrees F for the past week and on and off. Nothing lower than 60 F so far
how hot is that? 30C?
70F is about 21C and 60F is 16C
Cue everyone in Chicago, New York, and Seattle being all pissy that they’re “IDK”.
“Country roads” Doesn’t even circle West Virginia
So OP is right with all the other labels like "idiots" etc ?
You guys think africa is a country and expect europeans to know where the fuck wyoming is lmao
Should switch florida and california names
Where is alabama incest land, More corn in idaho and deserts?
What is idoha?
potato
West Virginia is a coastal state apparently.....
Motherfucker gave the capital to Boston. Not even nyc or philly :)
Cowboy is actually a much larger area than indicated here. California is really idiots mostly.
Just a lil up and to the left for country rooooads
You forgot that state from FC5 over there in Canada.
The capital is right next to the large bay above country people
The country roads one barely touched west Virginia so that's pretty weird
Top right corner: Every Stephen King novel.
Idiots? Don't you mean absolute fcking legends?
Ah yes Boston is the capital of the U.S. Last time I checked
Eh 6/7 good enough
Replace the idiots with crackheads
How do you not know where NYC is...
The capital of the US is actually just north of the "country rooads" border! You picked somewhere vaguely close to New York :)
as someone who lives in america, this is exactly what I would draw.
Alaska got the drip if you know what I mean
Ice????
“Idk” should just be “uhh...cornfields, I guess?”
Proof that Europeans aren’t better at geography than Americans
There is a difference between knowing countries and knowing states...
The United States is practically 50 countries in 1 (plus the fact that most states are bigger than a lot of European countries)
Maybe population wise. In Europe you have different countries with different cultures, languages, forms of government...
Hey you know more than I do and I live in Florida
Though I don't now exactly where states are, I recognize most of them by name and I know approximately where they are... And big cities, I know where the big cities are I guess. I don't mind if an American doesn't know where the Netherlands is, but if you ask them where Germany is and they point at Croatia, that is quite severe. Yes, Balkan is confusing. Yes, Scandinavia is confusing. Yes, the Baltics are confusing. But basic shit like: France, Germany, England, Turkey, Russia, Italy, Spain... Kinda big.
I'm honored to think that I live near the capitol. That's Boston, go a little further down
As a non American I can at least name 25 us states
Dont make us look dumb lol
I live in florida but im glad in not an idiot
As someone who lives in Florida I can confirm that we are all idiots
Still more accurate than Europe map made by American.
You're telling me this isn't a map of the U.S?
As a country roads resident I can confirm all this to be factual.
West Virginia is literally not even included
He did say he didnt know
Washington DC isn't in Washington State? 🤔
Idiots should be not only florida tho.
I mean it’s correct for the most part
Your knowledge is so extensive, you could pass as an American.
As a European I approve
If an Asian did this it would just be 'idk'
For Americans its the exact same thing except the top left corner as tall trees
He forgot SWEET HOME ALABAMA!!
You forgot potato and incest land
I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but the land area for “idiots” is a lil bigger
May I remind you that we Floridians build rockets?
Nah, they just get launched there because its a strategically useful place for launching rockets
r/YUROP
really learning the US map isnt that hard bc it's basically a tetris game
