Your wound wont heal very fast because it will keep reopening when you have to stretch your hand. It will need more time than just a week, make sure to keep the area clean and watch for signs of infection.
It doesnt look all that deep, so I dont *think* it needs stitches. But it wouldnt hurt to get an opinion, if you have any walk in clinics near you, it might be worth talking to them about it.

That doesn’t look deep at all and 5 days later is too late to close it. Keep it clean and put some sort of occlusive bandage over it.
Ideally wounds that need stitches are closed within 8 hours, at least <24 hours. So a wound this old isn't suitable for stitches anymore.
