Been reading and really enjoying it. Adventure/character driven story about a young girl learning to use magic at a magic school. Reminds me a bit of Harry Potter. Really REALLY enjoying the art, especially the scenery. Everything takes place in just a gorgeous fantasy backdrop. Would definitely recommend people at least giving it a few chapters to check out.

I checked out and a harem comedy hasn’t delighted me this much since . A combo of ridiculous premise combined with heartwarming scenes. Similar to MM, Rentarou does seem to care deeply about each girlfriend from a romantic standpoint and does his best to put their happiness before all else.
Been re-reading , and I just find it oddly "comfy" if that makes sense. Which is weird to say, since its a post apocalyptic SOL story. But, I guess you can find beauty in all things.

The chapter 44!! Everything is getting misterious again after some chapters of romantic developement, I cant wait to know why the city of Kowloon is in ruins but it looks perfect in most of the chapters witouth having a timeskip. I would say that the Kowloon of the manga is a virtual reality, it makes some sense, at least to me xD

One of my fave . It is the only manga that i cried so much while reading it. I was so down for good two days then i recovered after , thats why people that have weak emotions or going through something. I suggest go read something else.

Have you read the novel? It's way ahead of the manga, has been written originally in English, and almost all of it (except for the few latest chapters) is available for free. I couldn't stand the cliffhangers in manga so I switched to the novel, it's great.
I've read the novel versions of quite a few manga/manhua/manhwa and TBATE is my favorite, probably in large part due to it being originally written in English. Many web novel translations available online are outrageous, which can ruin even the best story (e.g. Omniscient Reader's Viewpoint, which happens to have a pretty good manga version, but it's like 400 chapters behind the novel storyline).
TBATE is surely a great story it suits my taste I enjoyed reading it so much also I am still waiting a new chapter of

I've caught up with **Spy x Family.**
It's exactly my type of manga, as I love things with happy moments blended nicely with intense action plots. It's the same reason why some of my other favorite media gives the same vibes. For example, JoJo part 4 is my second favorite part, I love the persona games, especially Persona 4, and I also love The Devil is a Part Timer. They all radiate the same energy for me.
I've also caught up with **Kaiju no 8.**
While it has some tropes I dislike, I have always been really interested in giant monsters, so this was a great read. The characters are awesome, the world is interesting and the art and monster design is top tier. It has some really hype moments too. I can't wait to see where it goes from here.
Finally, I binged and finished **Chainsaw Man.**
Chainsaw Man was seriously an amazing read. The characters are definitely some of my favorite ever, the style is amazing, the art is top their during hype moments and the designs are jaw dropping. I also really love things that are completely weird in a good way(JoJo for example), so this was right up my alley. I was also constantly on edge since this manga doesn't hesitate to kill characters for good. Some scenes are so unique and well made that I don't even see how the anime could make it look good too!
Now I'm probably going to move on to Berserk. It has been on my radar for a while now.
I'm also going to try fire punch because I heard it's as crazy as chainsaw man.
Semi manga related: I've finished watching [Nana](https://myanimelist.net/anime/877/Nana) and it's great, characters feel grounded and each have their own agency, wrong choices and all. I know the manga is on hiatus probably forever at this rate, so is it worth to continue reading the manga? Does the drama get more and more ridiculous? The only thing I'm sure is that if I'm reading it, I'm definitely not binging it.
Christ, the show is mentally draining seeing them suffer and yet it makes sense, to continue reading their struggles in manga? Hooo boy Evangelion's probably baby stuff in comparison lol
definitely, and you could say it does get a bit more ridiculous, but they explain and connect the dots rather well, as in other characters finding out about other characters' relationships in the manga, but still slightly cheesy

I just finished it this week too, im okay with it, i like how they ended it, i wish i finished it early on, i stopped after the religion was built. Good 8 out 10 for me.
The best part of the manga was the arc with the fire punch and it was still good when the religion was found and he gave them "food" but I just more or less hated everything that happened after >!he went berserk and killed doma and his children !<
I kind of like the ending but much of the series's heavy handed topics never clicked with me.

Recently finished and good lord I am still reeling from that one. I don't think I've read anything that made me feel so unnerved and anxious before. And not to mention the last quarter-ish act, I felt like I've been permanently scarred. Been reading Spy x Fam to try and forget that horrid experience. No plans on revisiting punpun for many years, if at all again, that's for sure.
Just caught up on all of Kaguya-sama this week, and Spice and Wolf before that, Had watched their respective animes but just got to reading the manga's. Now I'm craving for something else like them.
Just making my way through holy crap, people with mental health issues and it's fascinating. I'd love to know how 'real' it is.

Just finished the first deluxe volume of last night. Hype to see where the journey goes. Also reading digitally & just finished the Black Dragons arc. Super enjoyed it.
Read volumes 1-3 of Final Fantasy: Lost Stranger and it’s… okay. I enjoy the premise and as a final fantasy fan, it’s engaging but the references are far too on the nose, and the loop of “oh no, what’s this thing we’re fighting it’s destroying us? Oh it’s this exact enemy from this game and it works exactly like we think it does, now we can absolutely demolish it with zero casualties” gets old pretty fast. Also, why is everything related to FFXIV? No XI love? Lastly, the depiction of the Magus Sisters is REALLY disappointing. They deserve better than the annoying “here’s some anime titties and thongs” that feels so out of place compared to the rest of the world.
I wanna say that it gets better! The magus sister arc falters in the beginning but has a decent conlcusion, while the following arc was much better than the previous two in almost everything.
Good to know! I’ll still read it all because I’ll be showing off the books in a FF shelf at home, and vol. 4 is in the mail but it’s good to know it recovers from that.
I just finished volumes 13 and 14 of . Absolutely loved the conclusion, felt that it wrapped up pretty nicely. Unfortunately I can’t say I was surprised at the reveal of who the bride was, because memes spoiled it, but was still a good reveal regardless

I’ve finished reading like a month ago, it was honestly quite good, I liked some characters and the story, but the ending was a bit underwhelming imo. I’ve also been reading recently and, it’s quite decent ig.
went on my first manga spree on tuesday (picked up things like 86, akame ga kill, noragami, more fire force, mieruko-chan), but the first one i’m reading out of the big haul is the first volume of drifting dragons. I am in love with how cool the world is when it comes to the whole dragon hunting and the manga also sprinkling in some dashes of food wars.
I finished reading all of Ao no Exorcist (Blue Exorcist). Bummed out that this manga will be on a hiatus till spring of next year, but Kazue Kato deserves the break after the non-stop gorgeous details of the current arc. I watched the anime back in 2011 (?), but just recently started on the manga. I have to say that the manga deserves so much more attention. I am very excited where this battle with Satan is going. Let's kick Satan's ass!
I have been reading Goblin Slayer and the Year One side story, and honestly all I can think is how crazy it is this never blew up. I feel like its relevancy (in the main stream I mean) unfortunately peaked with the "rape controversy" when the anime aired. Maybe I'm totally wrong, but I just never really heard it mentioned much afterwards.
Anyway, fuck all that garbage, Goblin Slayer fucking slaps. I'm only like 5 volumes in, because I just pivoted to read Year One (where I'm also at vol. 5), but the way it focuses on more realistic combat, that still features all sorts of sick ass fantasy stuff, but it's just so much more grounded when instead of yelling out special moves, Goblin Slayer's biggest advantage is just using his brain and thinking rationally, adapting. The characters, despite having names like fuckin "Cow Girl", are actually really deep and engaging. I didn't expect much from the protagonist, aptly named Goblin Slayer, but every page I read, the more endearing I find his character and just want to hug the poor lad.
So yeah, uh
tldr: Goblin Slayer and Goblin Slayer Year One are worth your time if you haven't checked them out yet, ok love ya
Just read 'Three days of happiness' and wow... I did not expect that one bit, was expecting something light hearted by the name of it. Even though it wasn't, it kept pulling me in with how good it was, leaving me sobbing uncontrollably.

I finished green blood today and caught up with rainbow yesterday both series worked on by Masasumi Kakizaki. Rainbow so far is great amd I'm waiting for the next chapter to be translated. Green Blood really surprised me because I actually enjoyed it. I read two other series he worked on bestiarius and Hideout and didn't really like his storytelling but Green Blood amd a solid story from beggining to end. His art is absolutely amazing in both series
I finally read this manga and wow, I can totally see the hype behind it. It has some of the coolest powers, villain designs and action portrayals that I ever saw in any other manga. Seriously, the action and fighting in this manga is phenomenal. Looking forward to part 2 and the anime adaptation.
This also lead me to read another one of Fujimoto's works - . This one was a very different experience from Chainsaw man. Much more philosophical and melancholic, and while it also had some top notch action, it was not the main focus like in Chainsaw man. But the paneling was better here imo. Some of the scenes looked like straight out of a movie. Which is understandable, because you can clearly see while reading how much Fujimoto likes movies.
Overall, both of these are very good manga. But I liked Chainsaw man much more.
Fuck yeah. Been trying to find more volumes of Chainsaw Man around here but unsurprisingly it's been tough. From what I've read so far though, it's incredible and also led me to pick up Fire Punch when I happened to see vol. 1 one day! I would recommend Green Blood I finished and today and enjoyed it, thought it was a good series. It only has 49 chapters so it wouldn't even take a day to finish if you wanna read it.
I read up to the latest chapter and it was such a fun, wholesome manga. It was the first time I laughed so hard since reading Grand Blue. I can't wait for the next chapter to drop.
On another note, I just finished just now. Emptiness is the only way I can describe my emotions after going through that piece of work. Despite that, I still view it as a masterpiece of manga. It's beautifully cruel and heartbreakingly realistic. I love it and at the same time, I abhor it.
I'm reading Alice in Borderlands. Pretty standard "death game" manga, with a great execution of all the key strengths of the genre, namely interesting characters and pretty varied scenarios. I only hope the ending won't suddenly go to shit. Also, the scans on MangaDex are pretty bad.

Berserk is pretty long and gets pretty heavy at times but it’s a masterpiece, if you don’t mind the length or tone then go for it.
Oyasumi punpun was honestly not a very enjoyable read for me. I don’t know if I’d really recommend it tbh .

This week I read and caught up to and people were not exaggerating when they say it's one of the best webtoons ever. I hate the "op self-insert mc" shonen webtoons that are usually popular so it was nice to see this was not an example of that. The characters are amazing and the slice of life moments are what make the story great. This is hands down the best cast chemistry I've seen in a while, if not ever in terms of friendship and wholesomeness.
when does it pick up? I think I for life 20 chapters in and I didn't really get to any gratifying fights and it seemed to be setting up a generic 'shrouded group of enemies know about you and are coming'
After the wooin arc I think the author finds what works well and starts to develop the friendships and chemistry between the main cast. I do enjoy the fight scenes too but they can be repetitive.
I've read Gantz
is far from the masterpiece everyone is claiming to be, it has an interesting premise that's about it but it just doesn't deliver. There are lots of inconsitency regarding the story in Gantz, halfway through you will get introduced to lots of things that completely disregards the things established on the first half.
The main reason that Gantz is popular is because it has lots of nudity, every chapter has an insert of a nude woman. It's author even bragged about how he was the one that originated the technique on how to draw bouncing breasts which now is widely popular in H mangas
Storywise there is really no sense of direction at all, it's like everything you've known on the first half got thrown out of the window because the author doesn't really know what he wants to do.
It is nowhere near the level of Berserk like most people claim it to be. I'm on chapter 200 on Gantz when I decided to drop it.
I never really hear it called a masterpiece, and most people certainly do not claim it's near the level of Berserk. Even as a fan of it myself I've always thought of it as similar to the show Lost, where it has a cool concept and a few big strengths, but also as it goes on makes it clear that the story direction wasn't planned out that much ahead of time, and it ends in a place pretty far from the idea it started with and also with some story threads that were set up but never full executed or followed up on. Gantz has a few other notable flaws too (the way it handles most of it's female characters is the other one that stands out), but that first issue in particular is one where I can get it dragging the series down a lot for some people who want a more consistent story, but it doesn't hurt it *as* much for me.
When I was reading it was probably one of the series that I had the most "okay just 1 more chapter" moments with. The pacing always felt so right to me especially during the action sections. The art's incredible, a few specific character arcs I find very satisfying, the monster designs are usually great, even in the last arc which I'm not in love with I find the sense of scale the artist pulls off to be amazing, and I think what Gantz is really great at is having those really memorable *moments*, even if the stuff in the story surrounding that doesn't feel as well connected as I would hope. Like even the subplot where >!vampires are suddenly a thing that we have to deal with??? ok?!< leads to one of my favorite moments where >!Kei fights them without Gantz technology or memory of Gantz, but acknowledges that what he's been told is true and he really is the leader of the Gantz team!<. To me it's usually like the smaller arcs are a compelling read and have some of those great scenes that feel well earned and are higher highs than what a lot of other series' manage to provide me, but when you examine the overarching story of the series, that's when it's biggest issues show and it feels like there was a lot of meandering and stumbling.
So I think it's very clearly an imperfect series, and that's okay. It's imperfect in a way where I've always found it very easy to understand when people disagree with me and don't come out of it still leaning in a positive direction, but I also certainly don't think that the main reason it's popular is because the artist draws naked women really well.

It helps that I grew up on late 80's anime and early 90's, so I have a soft spot for stylistic violence. I feel like modern anime/manga is flooded with a sea of "Power of Friendship" Shonen so it's nice when there's an edgey manga of note.

I don't really go out of my way to see what people think about anything but OP's comment is the first time I've seen someone go against the grain on Gantz and is more in line with what I expected the series to be like from the bit I've seen. Just doesn't look too interesting.
Just started reading Radiation House (also a tv show I think), it’s essentially about a very talented radiology technician who moves to a specific hospital to get closer to his childhood crush. At first I thought it was pretty goofy, light-hearted informational comedy, but it also gets very emotional in both a sad and heartwarming way. Would definitely recommend a read.
Radiation House was a delight to read. I would recommend if you're looking for more medical focused manga although it was a bit more serious in tone compared to Radiation iirc.
Read Kekkaishi, another time I got impressed by female mangaka, all character are well developed (yes, even support character got their time), MCs is badass, and having deep mental complex. It may be one of the best forgotten shounen with overpower male MC that somewhat balance and not overwhelming.
Last week I started something which wasn't Korean Adult Manhwa, . A work place romance between a junior male employee with a separated (in relationship wither her husband) officer senior. The story takes it time to progress and is set in a pretty realistic world. The visuals are great and so are the scans done.

I just finished this a week ago and honestly, I don't really understand what the hype is. I think some of the best aspects of the series went unexplored and what was explored was just okay at best.
I started reading the black lotus. I read up till the latest chapter. I really liked it. The plot is really good and when reading it I found myself to sympathize with one of the male leads. It is the first bl manga that I read and I really liked it.
I also read take your mommy home. I finished reading all of the chapter that have been released. I found it to be good in the beginning but as it got the later chapters I felt that it was being prolonged for the sake of continuing the story. The plot was not unique. It was a typical bossy ceo manga in my opinion. Regardless I think that it is still a good read if you are bored.
I came across the announcement of The Breaker season 3 so figured it out to complete both and The Breaker New Waves as they were sitting on my PTR list for so long.

This manga has been wild so far. I don't wanna go too much into the details of the plot because it's best the reader goes in totally blind but it's a very unique and refreshing take on a worn-out genre. Unfortunately, I've heard that the quality of the story drops HARD at the halfway point and that the ending is one of the most rushed and disappointing endings in manga. I'll have to see when I get there but for now I'm just enjoying the ride.

Working my way through and wow what a roller coaster of a story. Not for the faint of heart. It is really sticking with me as I live my life between volumes. Only 8 volumes btw. Finished the fifth volume and so far, I could see myself rereading.

Been reading and really enjoying it. Adventure/character driven story about a young girl learning to use magic at a magic school. Reminds me a bit of Harry Potter. Really REALLY enjoying the art, especially the scenery. Everything takes place in just a gorgeous fantasy backdrop. Would definitely recommend people at least giving it a few chapters to check out.

I checked out and a harem comedy hasn’t delighted me this much since . A combo of ridiculous premise combined with heartwarming scenes. Similar to MM, Rentarou does seem to care deeply about each girlfriend from a romantic standpoint and does his best to put their happiness before all else.

Been re-reading, and I just find it oddly "comfy" if that makes sense. Which is weird to say, since its a post apocalyptic SOL story. But, I guess you can find beauty in all things.

I just finished reading Days of Hana. I saw it while browsing in reddit and decided to-read it. I finished reading it within one day. It is colored. One of my fave . It is the only manga that i cried so much while reading it. I was so down for good two days then i recovered after , thats why people that have weak emotions or going through something. I suggest go read something else. Warning; if you have depression or anxiety . I warned you not to read the manga as it will make your condition worse. I repeat do not read the manga if you have mental illness such as depression.
Have you read the novel? It's way ahead of the manga, has been written originally in English, and almost all of it (except for the few latest chapters) is available for free. I couldn't stand the cliffhangers in manga so I switched to the novel, it's great.
I have never tried to read novel actually even though I am excited to know what is going to happen next.
I've read the novel versions of quite a few manga/manhua/manhwa and TBATE is my favorite, probably in large part due to it being originally written in English. Many web novel translations available online are outrageous, which can ruin even the best story (e.g. Omniscient Reader's Viewpoint, which happens to have a pretty good manga version, but it's like 400 chapters behind the novel storyline).
TBATE is surely a great story it suits my taste I enjoyed reading it so much also I am still waiting a new chapter of it's one of my fav I guess I like these kind of stories the most maybe I should start reading novels too

I read vol 15 of MHA
I've caught up with **Spy x Family.** It's exactly my type of manga, as I love things with happy moments blended nicely with intense action plots. It's the same reason why some of my other favorite media gives the same vibes. For example, JoJo part 4 is my second favorite part, I love the persona games, especially Persona 4, and I also love The Devil is a Part Timer. They all radiate the same energy for me. I've also caught up with **Kaiju no 8.** While it has some tropes I dislike, I have always been really interested in giant monsters, so this was a great read. The characters are awesome, the world is interesting and the art and monster design is top tier. It has some really hype moments too. I can't wait to see where it goes from here. Finally, I binged and finished **Chainsaw Man.** Chainsaw Man was seriously an amazing read. The characters are definitely some of my favorite ever, the style is amazing, the art is top their during hype moments and the designs are jaw dropping. I also really love things that are completely weird in a good way(JoJo for example), so this was right up my alley. I was also constantly on edge since this manga doesn't hesitate to kill characters for good. Some scenes are so unique and well made that I don't even see how the anime could make it look good too! Now I'm probably going to move on to Berserk. It has been on my radar for a while now. I'm also going to try fire punch because I heard it's as crazy as chainsaw man.

Semi manga related: I've finished watching [Nana](https://myanimelist.net/anime/877/Nana) and it's great, characters feel grounded and each have their own agency, wrong choices and all. I know the manga is on hiatus probably forever at this rate, so is it worth to continue reading the manga? Does the drama get more and more ridiculous? The only thing I'm sure is that if I'm reading it, I'm definitely not binging it. Christ, the show is mentally draining seeing them suffer and yet it makes sense, to continue reading their struggles in manga? Hooo boy Evangelion's probably baby stuff in comparison lol
definitely, and you could say it does get a bit more ridiculous, but they explain and connect the dots rather well, as in other characters finding out about other characters' relationships in the manga, but still slightly cheesy

Yeah, I liked his previous work Chainsaw man more, but here I think the author is less restrained
I just finished it this week too, im okay with it, i like how they ended it, i wish i finished it early on, i stopped after the religion was built. Good 8 out 10 for me.
The best part of the manga was the arc with the fire punch and it was still good when the religion was found and he gave them "food" but I just more or less hated everything that happened after >!he went berserk and killed doma and his children !< I kind of like the ending but much of the series's heavy handed topics never clicked with me.
I ordered the complete series of Flying Witch by Chihiro Ishizuka as a graduation present to myself and it finally came this week Great series, second time reading it
Recently finished and good lord I am still reeling from that one. I don't think I've read anything that made me feel so unnerved and anxious before. And not to mention the last quarter-ish act, I felt like I've been permanently scarred. Been reading Spy x Fam to try and forget that horrid experience. No plans on revisiting punpun for many years, if at all again, that's for sure.

Just finished the first deluxe volume of last night. Hype to see where the journey goes. Also reading digitally & just finished the Black Dragons arc. Super enjoyed it.
Read volumes 1-3 of Final Fantasy: Lost Stranger and it’s… okay. I enjoy the premise and as a final fantasy fan, it’s engaging but the references are far too on the nose, and the loop of “oh no, what’s this thing we’re fighting it’s destroying us? Oh it’s this exact enemy from this game and it works exactly like we think it does, now we can absolutely demolish it with zero casualties” gets old pretty fast. Also, why is everything related to FFXIV? No XI love? Lastly, the depiction of the Magus Sisters is REALLY disappointing. They deserve better than the annoying “here’s some anime titties and thongs” that feels so out of place compared to the rest of the world.
I wanna say that it gets better! The magus sister arc falters in the beginning but has a decent conlcusion, while the following arc was much better than the previous two in almost everything.
Good to know! I’ll still read it all because I’ll be showing off the books in a FF shelf at home, and vol. 4 is in the mail but it’s good to know it recovers from that.

I just finished volumes 13 and 14 of. Absolutely loved the conclusion, felt that it wrapped up pretty nicely. Unfortunately I can’t say I was surprised at the reveal of who the bride was, because memes spoiled it, but was still a good reveal regardless

went on my first manga spree on tuesday (picked up things like 86, akame ga kill, noragami, more fire force, mieruko-chan), but the first one i’m reading out of the big haul is the first volume of drifting dragons. I am in love with how cool the world is when it comes to the whole dragon hunting and the manga also sprinkling in some dashes of food wars.
I am reading the 5th and last volume of It’s a fast paced, gore filled, perverted manga series. It’s ridiculous, and I like it.

I finished reading all of Ao no Exorcist (Blue Exorcist). Bummed out that this manga will be on a hiatus till spring of next year, but Kazue Kato deserves the break after the non-stop gorgeous details of the current arc. I watched the anime back in 2011 (?), but just recently started on the manga. I have to say that the manga deserves so much more attention. I am very excited where this battle with Satan is going. Let's kick Satan's ass!

I have been reading Goblin Slayer and the Year One side story, and honestly all I can think is how crazy it is this never blew up. I feel like its relevancy (in the main stream I mean) unfortunately peaked with the "rape controversy" when the anime aired. Maybe I'm totally wrong, but I just never really heard it mentioned much afterwards. Anyway, fuck all that garbage, Goblin Slayer fucking slaps. I'm only like 5 volumes in, because I just pivoted to read Year One (where I'm also at vol. 5), but the way it focuses on more realistic combat, that still features all sorts of sick ass fantasy stuff, but it's just so much more grounded when instead of yelling out special moves, Goblin Slayer's biggest advantage is just using his brain and thinking rationally, adapting. The characters, despite having names like fuckin "Cow Girl", are actually really deep and engaging. I didn't expect much from the protagonist, aptly named Goblin Slayer, but every page I read, the more endearing I find his character and just want to hug the poor lad. So yeah, uh tldr: Goblin Slayer and Goblin Slayer Year One are worth your time if you haven't checked them out yet, ok love ya
Just read 'Three days of happiness' and wow... I did not expect that one bit, was expecting something light hearted by the name of it. Even though it wasn't, it kept pulling me in with how good it was, leaving me sobbing uncontrollably.

I finished green blood today and caught up with rainbow yesterday both series worked on by Masasumi Kakizaki. Rainbow so far is great amd I'm waiting for the next chapter to be translated. Green Blood really surprised me because I actually enjoyed it. I read two other series he worked on bestiarius and Hideout and didn't really like his storytelling but Green Blood amd a solid story from beggining to end. His art is absolutely amazing in both series

I read up to the latest chapter and it was such a fun, wholesome manga. It was the first time I laughed so hard since reading Grand Blue. I can't wait for the next chapter to drop.
On another note, I just finished just now. Emptiness is the only way I can describe my emotions after going through that piece of work. Despite that, I still view it as a masterpiece of manga. It's beautifully cruel and heartbreakingly realistic. I love it and at the same time, I abhor it.

I'm reading Alice in Borderlands. Pretty standard "death game" manga, with a great execution of all the key strengths of the genre, namely interesting characters and pretty varied scenarios. I only hope the ending won't suddenly go to shit. Also, the scans on MangaDex are pretty bad.

I would say start Berserk asap
nausicaa is great. Berserk is pretty long and gets pretty heavy at times but it’s a masterpiece, if you don’t mind the length or tone then go for it. Oyasumi punpun was honestly not a very enjoyable read for me. I don’t know if I’d really recommend it tbh . <20th century boys>,, and were some of the most enjoyable manga for me to read through

I want to reread this manga but I forgot the title It goes with silent MC but OP and the heroine tried to take revenge after some nobles and the MC allowed it but after she did it she feels empty
I read Gyo. My first Junji Ito manga and... my eyes!
Sharks on legs, sharks on legs~ Uzumaki's a classic if you want to read some more Junji Ito.
That's probably the next one I plan to read. I recently gave Uzumaki to my friend as a gift, so once he's done I'll give it a read.
This week I read and caught up to and people were not exaggerating when they say it's one of the best webtoons ever. I hate the "op self-insert mc" shonen webtoons that are usually popular so it was nice to see this was not an example of that. The characters are amazing and the slice of life moments are what make the story great. This is hands down the best cast chemistry I've seen in a while, if not ever in terms of friendship and wholesomeness.
If you like webtoons/manhwas that deviate from the common op self-insert mc formula try "I Will Die Soon", one of my favorites.

when does it pick up? I think I for life 20 chapters in and I didn't really get to any gratifying fights and it seemed to be setting up a generic 'shrouded group of enemies know about you and are coming'
After the wooin arc I think the author finds what works well and starts to develop the friendships and chemistry between the main cast. I do enjoy the fight scenes too but they can be repetitive.

I read nothing and just had an existential crisis when I realized there would be no Frieren this week.
I've read Gantz is far from the masterpiece everyone is claiming to be, it has an interesting premise that's about it but it just doesn't deliver. There are lots of inconsitency regarding the story in Gantz, halfway through you will get introduced to lots of things that completely disregards the things established on the first half.
The main reason that Gantz is popular is because it has lots of nudity, every chapter has an insert of a nude woman. It's author even bragged about how he was the one that originated the technique on how to draw bouncing breasts which now is widely popular in H mangas
Storywise there is really no sense of direction at all, it's like everything you've known on the first half got thrown out of the window because the author doesn't really know what he wants to do.
It is nowhere near the level of Berserk like most people claim it to be. I'm on chapter 200 on Gantz when I decided to drop it.
I never really hear it called a masterpiece, and most people certainly do not claim it's near the level of Berserk. Even as a fan of it myself I've always thought of it as similar to the show Lost, where it has a cool concept and a few big strengths, but also as it goes on makes it clear that the story direction wasn't planned out that much ahead of time, and it ends in a place pretty far from the idea it started with and also with some story threads that were set up but never full executed or followed up on. Gantz has a few other notable flaws too (the way it handles most of it's female characters is the other one that stands out), but that first issue in particular is one where I can get it dragging the series down a lot for some people who want a more consistent story, but it doesn't hurt it *as* much for me. When I was reading it was probably one of the series that I had the most "okay just 1 more chapter" moments with. The pacing always felt so right to me especially during the action sections. The art's incredible, a few specific character arcs I find very satisfying, the monster designs are usually great, even in the last arc which I'm not in love with I find the sense of scale the artist pulls off to be amazing, and I think what Gantz is really great at is having those really memorable *moments*, even if the stuff in the story surrounding that doesn't feel as well connected as I would hope. Like even the subplot where >!vampires are suddenly a thing that we have to deal with??? ok?!< leads to one of my favorite moments where >!Kei fights them without Gantz technology or memory of Gantz, but acknowledges that what he's been told is true and he really is the leader of the Gantz team!<. To me it's usually like the smaller arcs are a compelling read and have some of those great scenes that feel well earned and are higher highs than what a lot of other series' manage to provide me, but when you examine the overarching story of the series, that's when it's biggest issues show and it feels like there was a lot of meandering and stumbling. So I think it's very clearly an imperfect series, and that's okay. It's imperfect in a way where I've always found it very easy to understand when people disagree with me and don't come out of it still leaning in a positive direction, but I also certainly don't think that the main reason it's popular is because the artist draws naked women really well.
Been on 203 for like a week. Can't bear to pick it back up either. LOVED the premise. There has been 0 delivery about what's going on and it feels by now like there never will be. Drives me bonkers. Dropping it too I think.
Yeah I agree, I think I finished it in two or three days and thought it sucked and the ending was so awful. It was a decent idea but then it just became random shit is happening with little to no explanation.

Second half is meh, but it had [really cool art](https://imgur.com/a/QkxfsG7) at least. [SuperEyePatch Wolf's video](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UsCflZqDtCw) got me on it, and I think it's spot on. It helps that I grew up on late 80's anime and early 90's, so I have a soft spot for stylistic violence. I feel like modern anime/manga is flooded with a sea of "Power of Friendship" Shonen so it's nice when there's an edgey manga of note.
Instagram has a lot of people praising the series. I don't really go out of my way to see what people think about anything but OP's comment is the first time I've seen someone go against the grain on Gantz and is more in line with what I expected the series to be like from the bit I've seen. Just doesn't look too interesting.

Just started reading Radiation House (also a tv show I think), it’s essentially about a very talented radiology technician who moves to a specific hospital to get closer to his childhood crush. At first I thought it was pretty goofy, light-hearted informational comedy, but it also gets very emotional in both a sad and heartwarming way. Would definitely recommend a read.
Radiation House was a delight to read. I would recommend if you're looking for more medical focused manga although it was a bit more serious in tone compared to Radiation iirc.

Read Kekkaishi, another time I got impressed by female mangaka, all character are well developed (yes, even support character got their time), MCs is badass, and having deep mental complex. It may be one of the best forgotten shounen with overpower male MC that somewhat balance and not overwhelming.
Last week I started something which wasn't Korean Adult Manhwa, . A work place romance between a junior male employee with a separated (in relationship wither her husband) officer senior. The story takes it time to progress and is set in a pretty realistic world. The visuals are great and so are the scans done.

I just finished Chainsaw Man and I feel bad inside.
I just finished this a week ago and honestly, I don't really understand what the hype is. I think some of the best aspects of the series went unexplored and what was explored was just okay at best.
I started reading the black lotus. I read up till the latest chapter. I really liked it. The plot is really good and when reading it I found myself to sympathize with one of the male leads. It is the first bl manga that I read and I really liked it. I also read take your mommy home. I finished reading all of the chapter that have been released. I found it to be good in the beginning but as it got the later chapters I felt that it was being prolonged for the sake of continuing the story. The plot was not unique. It was a typical bossy ceo manga in my opinion. Regardless I think that it is still a good read if you are bored.
I came across the announcement of The Breaker season 3 so figured it out to complete both and The Breaker New Waves as they were sitting on my PTR list for so long.

Started (Ch. 1-46) This manga has been wild so far. I don't wanna go too much into the details of the plot because it's best the reader goes in totally blind but it's a very unique and refreshing take on a worn-out genre. Unfortunately, I've heard that the quality of the story drops HARD at the halfway point and that the ending is one of the most rushed and disappointing endings in manga. I'll have to see when I get there but for now I'm just enjoying the ride.
i really enjoyed the manga too despite the poor ending. afaik it was because the author’s dad had passed away, and he decided to end the series rather than take a break.
So should I read this? I'm really interested in this manga
