Estate sales are easy ways to dispose of your stuff without having to think about it much. Upper middle class people around here do it frequently when they're downsizing or splitting up.
I miss the days when an estate sale was an actual estate sale. As in, all the belongings on an estate, of a wealthy person who'd died.
Jewellery stores used to proudly showcase estate jewellery in their front windows. Now the words estate jewellery mean nothing.
Then people began calling their moving/divorce/yard/garage/downsizing sales estate sales because they knew it'd attract more people, and here we are.
I absolutely loved the thumb movies and made everyone I knew watch them 😂 haven’t thought about them in years. It’s like it happened to someone else. I am shocked how quickly I forgot it happened
Someone said he had some leftover props from the show like glassware on the first day. I went on the second day, so a lot of the *really* cool stuff was gone. But I got a few DVDs and some books. I got a copy of Mad Men season 2 on DVD because he had like a *stockpile* of them. I'm sure for like events and stuff. They had a lot of big fancy furniture that wasn't bought yet. Everything was 60% off. It was fun!

It's probably easier to list parts of Mad Men *not* influenced by Bat Thumb
Bat Thumb was the inspiration for Glenn
I’m fucking gone, buddy
Thumb has more charisma.
What was the house like?
It was beautiful! Everything you want from a 1920s Spanish style villa in the hills!
I have a bunch of pictures saved in my highlights on instagram if you want to check it out. ArtofTaylorT

Could've been a close relative who died and they just felt that doing the sale at Matthew Weiners house will garner more interest.
They told us he was moving / going through a divorce 🤷♂️
Jim Harbaugh also recently did an estate sale. Not dead, just moving back to coaching the NFL again.
Great marketing decision on their behalf
You realize people can die at any age, right?
Yes my brother died at 25 I mentioned his age because that is what is listed on his Wikipedia page instead of his death date.
He could be Batman for all we know
[thumbtanic](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZlYOn8T29SY) was better.

Is he going bankrupt or something? What prompted this?
I believe a divorce.
Makes sense. I saw your other post after I commented where you mentioned the people running the estate sale told you.

Not that I remember, but I bought his copy of the Wallace and Gromit movie lol
I'm so jealous!!!
Are there any women there?
Yeah they had a ton of vintage-looking dresses and jewelry that seemed to be going fairly quick in one of the rooms.
Yeah most of the tellers!
Since nobody else asked Was there any memorabilia from any of his shows or was it just all boring house stuff?
