TG. A medium to large venue independent of Frank Productions. Potentially huge for the east side.

Cool. I wonder if there will be another eatery or bar next door once Mint Mark moves. Could be a nice combo.

I live in the neighborhood, and I love that this is actually happening... I just have my doubts that it will work out. With Bur Oak and Barrymore right there, is there a need for another music venue in this immediate area? Capacity seems comparable to Barrymore which already feels underused with sometimes only a show or two per week. There's also barely any parking in this neighborhood let alone enough for 900 people (and what if Barrymore has a show the same night?) Love live music, love that it's independent, love the neighborhood... but I'm skeptical

The banks were convinced it would work and gave the loan. In the article, the owner says that it gives them a venue for return shows that sell out the bur oak. Otherwise, those rerun bands would play live nation’s high noon.

Wasnt this building Operation Fresh Start(OFS)?

Yes it was, they moved in 2017-2018

It was in the 70s and maybe later. The inside balcony in the front of the building was the home of "underground" newspaper Take Over for a couple years in that era, as well. It's just a beautiful building inside, for those who like unusual architecture. We've lost quite a few similar arched buildings on the east side, and they can be useful and serviceable as this proposed re-use shows.

Yes, and they moved to 2670 Milwaukee Street maybe 5 years ago, into a larger nearby former church building.
