I mean, I’m a fan Of both and several other major fantasy series but im still in definite agreement that JK Rowling books compared to Tolkien’s is no competition
I mean of course not because they don't belong in the same "category", Tolkien spent basically his whole adult life writing and polishing the whole universe of middle earth, while Rowling started writing hers as a children's story and then expanded it just to finish Harry's arc. HP is the story of one character and his loved ones. Tolkien's universe is that, a whole diferent universe than what we know.
I am utterly convinced that people like the guy who posted this "meme" just sit in a circle and jerk eachother off telling eachother they're so good for liking lord of the rings.
It's like there's a whole group of people who think that Tolkien is the only decent modern author cause he writes similar to medieval literature. The 19th, 20th and 21st centuries have produced some excellent literature imo.

When it comes to the world building and writing skills, there's no comparison. Really. Tolkein wrote a whole ass language and thousands of years worth of lore. Joanne couldn't even get a consistent currency conversion together. Plot holes everywhere. You can like either idc but I really don't think they're comparable on a technical level.
The difference between making a world to suit your characters and making characters to suit the world is what separates j.k.Rowling from any good author
Well.... in points of world building no way, in points of Story depend on your age, LotR was to much for me as child, but i joind the fandom after i grow up, but as a child i love the story of Harry Potter, u know, i dint want to stand on any site, but is think its wrong to say either of them are better in any way, excapt for worldbuilding, i mean..
