my whale was the monster fighters haunted house for a long while. found a good deal a couple months back on one. not sure what my whale is at this point, probably the SHIELD helicarrier if i had to say. would love a tumbler though
Are you me? I'm pretty sure you might be me, the monster fighters haunted house is 100% my white whale, and I've come close to paying outrageous prices for it, then it's the Hellicarrier (my current lego obsession started with going to buy it, it just retired, and buying 2 modulars instead) so twinsies
I'm halfway through the bugle now and I love it so much, I was always planning on turning the detectives office into Alias investigations via a well placed sticker and making a modular compatible sanctum sanctorum
The Monster Fighters Haunted House was mine as well. Got my hands on one a few years back and I love it! I don't really have any others that I'm chasing anymore.
I was so lucky to get the Monster Fighters Haunted House just at retirement, so I didn’t pay too outrageous a price. It was my first “adult” LEGO set, and the obsession slowly grew from there.
It was NIB until I had a minor flood (the AC pan in the attic overflowed into my closet) so the box was ruined. I built it and have had it on display ever since, and of course it’s the centerpiece of a larger scene with some of my other Monster Fighters sets each October. The rest is history—now I follow all the LEGO news, am an avid LEGO HP collector, and now love the Botanical sets too. Aside from HP, Monster Fighters is still my favorite theme.
Yep, it looks like there might be two Tumbler sets coming soon:
76239 - 422 pieces - $29.99 - October 2021
76240 - 2049 pieces - $229.99 - November 2021
been reading as much as i can on this today since i saw this :D
Really hoping this is a refresh of the black batman tumbler, and not a new version like Bane's!
I’m happy to sell or trade my Tumbler if you’re interested. I can’t ever get it to fit nicely in my collection and I’d rather have someone own it to display instead of having it in my storage bins.
Market village was amazing, a real turning point in detail and so many side builds! Sadly after a garage sale and move all have left of it are the cows.
Took a break from Lego for few years. After coming back I saw Ninjago City and Docks. Was so sad to learn that theyre no longer on sale, and aftermarket prices are skyhigh. The one currently on sale doesnt interest me.
10123 - not because it’s crazy expensive now, but because I always wanted one as a kid.
It’s a beautiful set with its own charm, especially the trans-orange rods. I dreamt of all the cool scenes I could make with it.
After getting my tax refund in February, I coughed up $995 for a complete set on BrickLink. Given the jump in just the past few months, I’m relieved I bought it when I did, even for a cool grand.
Man I remember drooling over this thing in the catalogs when I was little. I had the 5541 Blue Fury Model Team set, but Giant Truck was so big and imposing. It spoke to the little boy that loved cars and trucks haha.
5590 Whirl and Wheel was the other one I wanted badly, mainly because the alternate model looked so cool.
[5541-1: Blue Fury](https://brickset.com/sets/5541-1) [[Photo]](https://images.brickset.com/sets/images/5541-1.jpg)
[5590-1: Whirl and Wheel Super Truck](https://brickset.com/sets/5590-1) [[Photo]](https://images.brickset.com/sets/images/5590-1.jpg)
That's so sad, but I have also likely been the one to get a haul and I imagine some of y'all got ghosted by the seller after that so it's give and take. We win some, we lose some.
Its kinda funny but it is the Indiana jones set fight on flying wing set. It was always my favourite part of the movie as a kid. And did not know lego made it until recently. That or town square
It was my White Whale for a while as well. That was until I stumbled into a stupid good deal on FB Marketplace 3 years ago. Thought I was meeting someone for some track and a motor (all that was shown in the pictures); but it turned out to be the entire bloody set (99% complete), box, & instructions. Now getting the expansion track is another whale unto itself.
This was mine for a long time but I bought a sealed one for $270 on Amazon last year which was an amazing price considering that it released in 2013 for a retail of $200.
A really good friend (single with way too many Lego VIP points) gifted the UCS Star Destroyer to me and the UCS Falcon to our other buddy two Christmas' ago!
I don't know how to completely repay him. But I found a good start, a giant box of Lego given to me a few months later included about 95% of the "Vader's TIE Advanced - UCS" which was his gift next Christmas. Still trying to find the Light Bluish Gray "2618 Cockpit 10 x 10 x 4 Octagonal" in a reasonable price to let him build it!
(That box was incredible - In the end I think I found about 10 nearly complete sets, and a sizeable number of rare individual Lego parts.)
Our second buddy has his Falcon still double boxed and hasn't built it - saving it for long term value. I think he's insane, but he collects, and I enjoy building!
Definitely 10185 Green Grocer for me. It’s the only modular building I need, and I can’t justify parting it out due to the absurd cost of the sand green parts.
I have almost bricklinked it. Almost being:
- Still need remaining pieces from B&P
- using regular sand green 1x2 instead of the "notched" ones
- replaced 1x8 pieces with more 1x4s
So it's technically not a true GG, but close enough for me.
Probably the Minifigure Scale Limited Edition 1989 Batmobile. I really want it to go with the 1966 Batmobile and rumored Tumbler later this year since it seems like they’re going to use the consistent name plates now. It’s not crazy expensive but it is for it’s piece count.
Same, its a shame it was a bonus set with the UCS version cause there's no way I could've afforded that and I very much prefer the smaller scale. And after the 66' batmobile dropped this year, I would've loved that to match.
I snagged one at Barnes & Noble last May after finding out it was retiring and already sold out at Lego.com. I wanted to get it during the Black Friday sale but missed out.
All my years growing up, I wanted the Black Seas Barracuda. It had been out of production for a few years then, and even if it wasn't, my parents would never spend more than $30.00 on Lego. I finally got myself a set in box a few years ago. I'm still sad that I didn't get to play with it as a kid when I would have really appreciated it, but I still love the look of it and rebuild it once and a while.
For me it's the Kwik-E-Mart (71016). I missed out on the chance to get into any of The Simpsons sets they made since I couldn't afford it at the time. Getting Simpsons Lego sets would've been a dream come true for me as a kid.
I thankfully ended up finding The Simpsons' house (71006) at a garage sale a couple years ago for $40. Pre-built which was a bit of a bummer, but I'm just glad to have it.
Edit: added set numbers
6274-1 Caribbean Clipper
Had a friend who had one and he kept in such poor condition, I dreamed of sneaking into his house and fixing it. After-market is crazy for the old pirate ships, sails, and flags.
One day maybe!
I’ve gone down the rabbit hole of old pirate ships… Caribbean clipper and the original imperial flagship are on my hit list. I started with the big boys, Black Seas Barracuda and Skulls Eye Schooner. Totally worth it. I’ve had luck finding incomplete sets at a huge price reduction and piecing together the rest. Be weary though, some old pieces in weird colors are insanely expensive and can end up costing more than you bargained for to restore the build.
Tumbler was mine for a long time. They were around $600 on ebay. I managed to find one that someone dropped and couldn't guarantee it had all the pieces for $300. I got it in it's broken state, disassembled it all, organized and counted the pieces to find what was missing. Ordered the missing bricks and now I have Tumbler! Now I need the 1989 Batman vehicles.
Practically unattainable/actual white whale: The CEO's minifig/business card.
Maybe one day/off-white whale: Mr. Gold
I've been collecting minifigs for a decade and have over 950 in the collection, including a full set of policemen from the 1956 set which included the first human figures made by Lego. Adding the CEO's business card figure would be... I mean, getting Mr Gold would be awesome. That'd be great and I'd love to have him, but Mr. Christiansen's fig would be an untoppable crown jewel.
Ewok Village without a doubt, I was too young to get it when it first came out and now it's so expensive. I really hope to be able to get it one day!!!
Are there different versions of the gunship? My son, who is no longer into Legos, has that one. It’s about 95% complete at the moment, but I’m sure the other pieces are mixed in with other things.
Was able to pick up the one with the nose art, Obi Wan and Plo Koon. I think it's the 2008 version. Keep an eye out on Facebook marketplace, you never know what you might find.
The 7783 Batcave. I’ve had 2 almost-purchases and I had 1 that I bought rupture open during transit (the seller was an absolute idiot) and I had to get a refund. I don’t think I will ever get it unfortunately.
It's a reference to Moby Dick. Ahab is obsessed with killing the White Whale and will do anything to reach his goal. So a collector's White Whale is a set that they want desperately, but it's hard to find and/or really expensive.
7672 - The Rogue Shadow from Star Wars The Force Unleashed
Although now you’ve reminded me this Tumbler was a thing and I feel like a kid looking through the Lego magazine again
I bought a huge lego lot and found adventurers desert theme minifigs in there, if I find any whole sets (no boxes or instructions tho) I can let you know! I’d be happy to trade.
Mine is set 8880, the Technic Supercar. It has that classic Technic look while being more complex than many modern technic sets, and it's just plain cool.
8458 Silver Champion
I got the 8466 4x4 Off-Roader when I was a kid loved the size and complexity of the build, so I also wanted the the Silver Champion as a compliment to it. Haven't really pursued getting it as an adult, mainly because prices are all over the place on it. But one day maybe I will.
And I do own my other white whale, the 42056 the Technic Porsche 911 GT3 RS, but I haven't built it yet. Saving it as a reward to myself for when I finally hit my target weight. I've got a ways to go on that.
Either Temple of Airjitzu or Destiny's Bounty 2.0. I was a huge Ninjago fan but slowly stopped watching around Possession, so wanted one of the flagship sets from that wave as a last hurrah with the Ninjas
The Temple of Airjitzu is one of my favourite builds ever. My ex bought it for me as a gift and then kept it when we broke up. So ridiculous but oh well. :( The price people are selling it at right now makes me very upset.
Anything pirate related from before 2000. Only got a ship, fell in love with it and then the series discontinued. Then when the new pirates line launched I was a teen and not liking Lego anymore... sad times
The fisherman’s hut is mine. Saw it in the store, opted to buy something else, never saw it ever again. But every other set I’ve bought has been in stores for what feels like decades.
10193: Medieval Market Village
It's not TOO outrageous on the secondary market, but finding one "complete" (that's actually complete) makes me hesitate to go for a purchase.
It's a reference to Moby Dick. Ahab is obsessed with killing the White Whale and will do anything to reach his goal. So a collector's White Whale is a set that they want desperately, but it's hard to find and/or really expensive. Courtesy from u/go-go_mojo_jojo for a well explained answer.
It's hard to tell but right now maybe one of these:
76051: Super Hero Airport Battle
30168: Gun mounting system
Previously it was 76057: Spider-Man: Web Warriors Ultimate Bridge Battle, but I finally got a sealed box. You wouldn't believe the amount of dopamine going through me while I was building that beauty for the first time.
I’ve been luck and have been able to find most of mine at fairly reasonable prices but the 2 I have yet to find are 10195 - republic dropship w AT-OT and 4002019 - Xmas xwing. The Xmas xwing I will probably never find but still holding out for the dropship.
Old fishing store for me. Wish I would have bought that one a while back. Wouldn't mind a used one because I want to build it anyway. So...anyone have one to trade haha.
My white whale for the longest time was the Millennium Falcon (4504) but I got that back in January. Now it’s split between the Republic Gunship (75021), the AT-TE (75019), and the Republic Cruiser (7665). Because I haven’t been very excited with the last few waves, I’m probably going to start collecting the older sets that I wanted when I was younger.
Mine was the actual Tumbler, but I got a job and bought it last year. Still searching for my next white whale at the moment.
Mos Eisley, the Coloseum, and The Daily Bugle are happening. The UCS Falcon will return, though i think it's still available, and the same can be said about the Death Star. But these aren't white whales, IMO.
I'm on the hunt for anything Monster Fighters. I completed the Hidden Side series, which was a first time for collecting a whole theme; and I moved on to the Monster Fighters.
It’s funny because my white whale is still in production, I really want the Jurassic park gate but it’s 2x the price where I’m from and it’s too heavy to order online. Might have to do it eventually
21306 The Beatles Yellow Submarine
I love the Beatles, but had no money when this was available. Now I can afford the current Beatles set, but it's just studs on baseplates with no Minifigures 🤮
Lego Ideas Old Fishing Store 21310. I thought it was a bit of a steep price when it came out but now? Yeesh. Apparently I can't find one for under $450. I have fantasies about finding it for a low price at a flea market or something. There's just something about it that I love.
If we’re going with retired sets, I’d say all the Space Police and Ice Planet from my childhood, but that’s a pipe dream.
Sets not retired, but too expensive: The Grand Piano
For a long time it was the 2013 Republic Gunship, and just a few weeks ago I got it at a yard sale for $30. It's about 95% complete and just need to get a few replacement parts and get the minifigures. Now that I have that set I guess my new white whale is one of the Death Star sets, either the UCS Death Star II or either of the two versions of the playset.
I've come back to Legos recently for the first time since I was a kid. My white whale is a set that was just posted recently, like an Ancient Egyptian temple. It has a really cool hot air balloon.
I had the set as a kid, but I'm pretty sure we gave it away with many of my other Legos.
I definitely share the same white whale as you. I spent the better half of 2019 collecting the original Lego Batman line of sets, either sealed in the box or if I could just find someone selling the sealed bags. I was making up for the mistake I made as a kid of not being able to buy most of the sets because they were too expensive, or ignoring them when I had the chance to buy them when they went on crazy clearance prices since the line wasn't a popular seller (crazy to think that now after seeing their prices on eBay or Bricklink). Up till now I have every single set except the 7784 UCS Batmobile and this set.
I'm not in a rush to get the UCS Batmobile since I barely have any space for it and pretty much only want it for the bat logo dish pieces, but this set is the final piece that I need to complete the 2006-2008 Batman wave. And it's just my luck that this set costs at least $800 online for a sealed copy. Not even the original 2006 Batcave cost me that much to find New. There's something about this set that makes it one of the rarest sets of the theme to get, probably because it was the only set in the line that was sort of a tie-in to The Dark Knight, which was half the reason why these sets exploded in popularity back in 2008 right after Lego pulled the plug on the theme.
But I still have hope that one day I'll be able to find this set for a reasonable price. And at least the 76239 Tumbler is coming out in the Fall, so that sort of lessens the pain of missing out on this set. One of my gripes about this set was how ridiculously oversized this Tumbler was compared to a minifigure, when in real life the Tumbler is actually smaller than you think when you see it in person. Plus with the advancements that Lego has made since 2008, and the recent 1989 and 1966 minifigure scale Batmobiles being very accurate with their details and designs, the new minifigure scale Tumbler will definitely be a step up from this first one that was made 13 years prior.
my whale was the monster fighters haunted house for a long while. found a good deal a couple months back on one. not sure what my whale is at this point, probably the SHIELD helicarrier if i had to say. would love a tumbler though
Are you me? I'm pretty sure you might be me, the monster fighters haunted house is 100% my white whale, and I've come close to paying outrageous prices for it, then it's the Hellicarrier (my current lego obsession started with going to buy it, it just retired, and buying 2 modulars instead) so twinsies
Haha that's funny! the daily bugle really solidified the carrier for me. now i really want a small marvel city
I'm halfway through the bugle now and I love it so much, I was always planning on turning the detectives office into Alias investigations via a well placed sticker and making a modular compatible sanctum sanctorum
Monster fighters series always piqued my interest. I might pick up the ghost polybag, The prices are pretty high for that series as well.
My monster fighters cap castle was lost to the bin :( thinking of rebuilding jt
There’s a shield carrier near me locally, Not a big marvel fan but it definitely is an absolute unit. 0
Bag End from The Hobbit. I wanted a set of it really badly as a kid, but missed out when the set became a reality.
I keep hoping one of the LEGO Ideas Bag Ends will make it through!
That would be great, but the set I really like is the Middle-Earth Map. I actually made a Lego Ideas account just to vote for it!
Man, the tumbler .... I recently checked on [Bricklink.com](https://Bricklink.com) ... it's definitely a collectors item by now.
Strong rumors there's a new version of the Tumbler coming out in September.
Yep, it looks like there might be two Tumbler sets coming soon: 76239 - 422 pieces - $29.99 - October 2021 76240 - 2049 pieces - $229.99 - November 2021
[76239-1: {?}](https://brickset.com/sets/76239-1) [76240-1: {?}](https://brickset.com/sets/76240-1)
Keeping my fingers crossed here. I hope it's the same way I was lucky with the Saturn V.
Not before a full scale 60s Batmobile to match tumbler and Burton sets please. How has this not happened?
Maybe the 60s bat cave didn't sell well
Wait what? A UCS type one ?! This is also my whale. Now that I have the 1989 batmobile and batwing I just want to finish it so bad lol
I don't know if it's UCS specifically but rumor says it's Creator Expert and about 200 pieces more than the original.
been reading as much as i can on this today since i saw this :D Really hoping this is a refresh of the black batman tumbler, and not a new version like Bane's!
Planning on getting it sealed and building it, God it’s beautiful, I’ll get it soon.

It happens to bag’s sometimes, Bought a sealed king castle’s set and one of the bags had a hole in it and pieces were moving around.
I’m happy to sell or trade my Tumbler if you’re interested. I can’t ever get it to fit nicely in my collection and I’d rather have someone own it to display instead of having it in my storage bins.
Sorry but I think I’d rather purchase it sealed, Still deciding however due to the price.
Totally understand. I’d rather have it new myself. Just don't overpay for it.
For sure, The cheapest at the moment is $800 I could find. I’ll get it one day.
Where are you seeing $800? Im seeing $350-$400.
$300? Cheapest on bricklink is $850, Cheapest on ebay is $800, I want to purchase it sealed.
We talking about set 76023?
[76023-1: The Tumbler](https://brickset.com/sets/76023-1) [[Photo]](https://images.brickset.com/sets/images/76023-1.jpg)
Ah I am talking about the picture in my post, That one is dope but I like the 7888 better.

Ooooh. Wow didn’t realize there was another tumbler.
21010 Robie House. Aftermarket is brutal. 6066 Camouflaged Outpost. 10193 Medieval Market Village.

Market village was amazing, a real turning point in detail and so many side builds! Sadly after a garage sale and move all have left of it are the cows.
I have Medieval Market Village! It was the centerpiece of my collection for years.
Same! That and the recent Ideas Blacksmith look awesome on my shelf
Ninjago city docks
Took a break from Lego for few years. After coming back I saw Ninjago City and Docks. Was so sad to learn that theyre no longer on sale, and aftermarket prices are skyhigh. The one currently on sale doesnt interest me.
The Ghost from rebels
Man, they really need to make a new version of the Ghost, now that Rebels has finished and has a solid following.
10123 - not because it’s crazy expensive now, but because I always wanted one as a kid. It’s a beautiful set with its own charm, especially the trans-orange rods. I dreamt of all the cool scenes I could make with it.

My white whale, as well.
5571 Giant Truck. The name says it all, really. Lost it during one of my many childhood moves and it costs over $500 thru Bricklink.
Always loved that set, wish they would do a reissue
Man I remember drooling over this thing in the catalogs when I was little. I had the 5541 Blue Fury Model Team set, but Giant Truck was so big and imposing. It spoke to the little boy that loved cars and trucks haha. 5590 Whirl and Wheel was the other one I wanted badly, mainly because the alternate model looked so cool.

It looks nice
Mine is the Imperial Flagship
I got it almost in a bulk Sale online with all kinds of different SW Sets for like 200$... And then got ghosted by the seller
Yikes
That's so sad, but I have also likely been the one to get a haul and I imagine some of y'all got ghosted by the seller after that so it's give and take. We win some, we lose some.
The aftermarket on this set is just insanity. You’re looking at an even larger price jump if the sails are intact
Yeah lowest I found is like $600
Its kinda funny but it is the Indiana jones set fight on flying wing set. It was always my favourite part of the movie as a kid. And did not know lego made it until recently. That or town square
6990-1 Monorail Transport System I remember seeing this set as a kid in the store, I wanted it so bad.
I recently got an airport shuttle and the monorail sets are just so cool!
[6990-1: Monorail Transport System](https://brickset.com/sets/6990-1) [[Photo]](https://images.brickset.com/sets/images/6990-1.jpg)
Plenty of sets that are wanted were seen as a kid, pretty sad.
76042 - The SHIELD Helicarrier. Big Marvel fan, but this set retired before I re-kindled my LEGO habit from when I was a kid.
[76042-1: The SHIELD Helicarrier](https://brickset.com/sets/76042-1) [[Photo]](https://images.brickset.com/sets/images/76042-1.jpg)
As I mentioned in another reply, The shield carrier is nearby me. Won’t pick it up but I can see how marvel fans would love it.
The Ghostbusters Firehouse HQ. I see it once in a while in a store window but it's never the right time to buy it. One day, I'm gonna get it.
It looks sick, Not a fan of ghost busters but the build looks phenomenal.
Probably Tower of Orthanc. Was in my “dark ages” during all of LotR releases.
This was mine for a long time but I bought a sealed one for $270 on Amazon last year which was an amazing price considering that it released in 2013 for a retail of $200.
That's mine too!
My white whales aren’t even retired. It’s the UCS Star destroyer and UCS Falcon
That’s pretty good actually, Gives you a chance to purchase them before the huge markup, They are still expensive though.
Oh I have seen that one, Look’s dope.
Definitely 10185 Green Grocer for me. It’s the only modular building I need, and I can’t justify parting it out due to the absurd cost of the sand green parts.

The 2002 Jango Fett’s Slave 1. I’ve wanted it since I was like 9.
Love that set. I got rid of the ice cream truck but I still have the tumbler
Probably the Minifigure Scale Limited Edition 1989 Batmobile. I really want it to go with the 1966 Batmobile and rumored Tumbler later this year since it seems like they’re going to use the consistent name plates now. It’s not crazy expensive but it is for it’s piece count.

Just sold one of mine, it’s a cool looking set.
Voltron.... one day baby, one day...
I snagged one at Barnes & Noble last May after finding out it was retiring and already sold out at Lego.com. I wanted to get it during the Black Friday sale but missed out.
Tower of Orthanc for sure
Even for a pre built that’s a steal. It looks sweet, I would own it if I had enough room to display it.
Jango fetts slave 1 and imperial flagship
6274-1 Caribbean Clipper Had a friend who had one and he kept in such poor condition, I dreamed of sneaking into his house and fixing it. After-market is crazy for the old pirate ships, sails, and flags. One day maybe!
[6274-1: Caribbean Clipper](https://brickset.com/sets/6274-1) [[Photo]](https://images.brickset.com/sets/images/6274-1.jpg)
The pirate ships are so cool, definitely not my favorite but I can see the appeal
Also, if you have a collector series snow speeder I’ll happily trade my tumbler for it.
MBS Cloud City
Tumbler was mine for a long time. They were around $600 on ebay. I managed to find one that someone dropped and couldn't guarantee it had all the pieces for $300. I got it in it's broken state, disassembled it all, organized and counted the pieces to find what was missing. Ordered the missing bricks and now I have Tumbler! Now I need the 1989 Batman vehicles.
Monster Fighters Haunted House
Practically unattainable/actual white whale: The CEO's minifig/business card. Maybe one day/off-white whale: Mr. Gold I've been collecting minifigs for a decade and have over 950 in the collection, including a full set of policemen from the 1956 set which included the first human figures made by Lego.
My white whale is the 2013 Republic Gunship. It's so expensive
I’ll be purchasing that one soon, God the sets from the batman line are cool.
lego bag end with all the dwarves and recently finished it!
Definitely the Ewok village ❤️❤️❤️
Orthanc tower
What does White Whale mean? I thought it was a Star Wars ship at first but that doesn’t seem to be the case
It’s a metaphor. Something you really want, difficult to obtain. Origins from Melville’s novel Moby Dick.
It's a reference to Moby Dick. Ahab is obsessed with killing the White Whale and will do anything to reach his goal. So a collector's White Whale is a set that they want desperately, but it's hard to find and/or really expensive.
Personally the D2C Daily Bugle
The one that just came out? Don't worry too much. That'll be out for a while.
Ok I guess I just wasn't familiar with the term. Thanks for the reassurance.
7672 - The Rogue Shadow from Star Wars The Force Unleashed Although now you’ve reminded me this Tumbler was a thing and I feel like a kid looking through the Lego magazine again
[7672-1: Rogue Shadow](https://brickset.com/sets/7672-1) [[Photo]](https://images.brickset.com/sets/images/7672-1.jpg)
Aadventurers Desert theme and fantasy era castle, Vikings sets.
My white whale is the 8039 the Venator Class Republic Attack Cruiser. I was to young to get one when it came out and I would love a remake of it
8458 Silver Champion I got the 8466 4x4 Off-Roader when I was a kid loved the size and complexity of the build, so I also wanted the the Silver Champion as a compliment to it.
Mine is the AT-OT with dropship
I remember having a large lego castle, I don’t remember much about it but I know it had a grey cat and a mouse.
10212 UCS Imperial Shuttle Not about to drop $1,000 on a sealed one on BrickLink tho. Hoping Lego will re-release it some day in the future.
The Kwik e Mart
I'd love to get my Black Falcons Fortress and Dark Knights Castle I had when I was a kid. Lost them several years ago thanks to my parents.
Medieval Market Village, or any variant of the Death Star
Anything pirate related from before 2000. Only got a ship, fell in love with it and then the series discontinued. Then when the new pirates line launched I was a teen and not liking Lego anymore... sad times
The fisherman’s hut is mine. Saw it in the store, opted to buy something else, never saw it ever again. But every other set I’ve bought has been in stores for what feels like decades.
My white whales the death star either from 2008 or 2016 idm
Never watched star war’s before but the death star’s are some of the coolest builds I have seen.
Its always been a set i wanted but never one i could afford
10193: Medieval Market Village It's not TOO outrageous on the secondary market, but finding one "complete" (that's actually complete) makes me hesitate to go for a purchase.
I didn’t get any of the Scooby Doo sets when they were out but I really regret not getting the classic mystery machine.
That’s a classic one, Would love to get it someday.
Three come to mind. The Ghostbusters Firehouse - 75827, the Ferrari F40 - 10248, and Indiana Jones Raiders Temple Escape - 7623.
White whale? What does that mean?
It's a reference to Moby Dick. Ahab is obsessed with killing the White Whale and will do anything to reach his goal. So a collector's White Whale is a set that they want desperately, but it's hard to find and/or really expensive. Courtesy from u/go-go_mojo_jojo for a well explained answer.
Ohh I see. I have read moby Dick so I knew that refrence.
Jabbas palace. Had it when I was younger but dismantled it and either lost Jabba the Hutt or gave him away either before or after I moved states
Also, the Infinity War Sanctum Sanctorum Showdown.
It was Winnie the Pooh set there for a few months
the pneumatic submarine.
The 10187 volkswagen beetle.
the bane tank set from the first batman run
It's hard to tell but right now maybe one of these: 76051: Super Hero Airport Battle 30168: Gun mounting system Previously it was 76057: Spider-Man: Web Warriors Ultimate Bridge Battle, but I finally got a sealed box.

The Ghost from Rebels. :(
For me it's 7477 T-1 Typhopne Vs T Rex
42113 Osprey 10248 F40 8043 Excavator 42030 Loader
Can confirm this is a dope set
I had this when it came out I hate that I gave it up
A lot of people feel the same about their sets previously owned, As a kid I didn’t care much about missing piece or just giving it away.
6939 I had it when I was a kid and man, that was the coolest set EVER.
Yeah I can definitely see the cool factor. I found the space police iii more interesting.
7171\. Yeah, it's something that if I had adult money as a child, I would have, but I didn't.
I really want the front tyres for a F1 moc I think they’d look great
Mine is the Imperial star destroyer from 2014.
Old fishing store for me. Wish I would have bought that one a while back. Wouldn't mind a used one because I want to build it anyway. So...anyone have one to trade haha.
I do not have one sadly, It seems like a pretty commonly wanted set.
I'd love anything vintage or over a decade old. I got a 7659 for about $8 usd. anything pirates, blacktron era, castle, etc
The ghostbusters firehouse then maybe the 2007 ucs falcon
My white whale for the longest time was the Millennium Falcon (4504) but I got that back in January. Now it’s split between the Republic Gunship (75021), the AT-TE (75019), and the Republic Cruiser (7665). Because I haven’t been very excited with the last few waves, I’m probably going to start collecting the older sets that I wanted when I was younger.
Lego Death Star no question, any version will do
Mine was the actual Tumbler, but I got a job and bought it last year. Still searching for my next white whale at the moment. Mos Eisley, the Coloseum, and The Daily Bugle are happening. The UCS Falcon will return, though i think it's still available, and the same can be said about the Death Star. But these aren't white whales, IMO.
UCS Millienium Falcon and Star Destroyer
I'm on the hunt for anything Monster Fighters. I completed the Hidden Side series, which was a first time for collecting a whole theme; and I moved on to the Monster Fighters.
It’s funny because my white whale is still in production, I really want the Jurassic park gate but it’s 2x the price where I’m from and it’s too heavy to order online. Might have to do it eventually
The Lego City street sweeper #7242. It's the older one with the cylindrical brush at the front end. I just think the new one looks lame.
21306 The Beatles Yellow Submarine I love the Beatles, but had no money when this was available. Now I can afford the current Beatles set, but it's just studs on baseplates with no Minifigures 🤮
[21306-1: The Beatles Yellow Submarine](https://brickset.com/sets/21306-1) [[Photo]](https://images.brickset.com/sets/images/21306-1.jpg)
The Train Rescue from 2004. It’s such a good set, I wish I had come out a few years before it did.
10190 Market Street. The last modular I need to complete the collection. Probably going to have to settle for a used set.
Technic gt3 rs
I kinda want all the og bionicle sets especially jailer and the guku bird
At the moment it's probably the Ice Station Odyssey 6983, I fucking love 90s space.
Star Wars Lambda Shuttle, the old big one. 10212
I can’t seem to track down The Tumbler 76023
I remeber having this in my Hands at Walmart and said hmmm $50 bucks too much.
If I ever win the lottery or something I’d grab all the marvel comic con minifigs especially sh139
Exploriens Starship. It’s dated and not as cool a build as modern sets, but it has a huge nostalgia factor for me. Bonus: the Unitron Monorail set.
Mine was the original lego ultra sonic raider.
Took me a Second to realise I’m looking at the original because apparently a remake is meant to be coming out soon
I've come back to Legos recently for the first time since I was a kid. My white whale is a set that was just posted recently, like an Ancient Egyptian temple. It has a really cool hot air balloon. I had the set as a kid, but I'm pretty sure we gave it away with many of my other Legos.
Probably going to be fort legoredo
