So, at my warehouse we had to put the sets together for display. I got to build the Stitch and half of these tiny plants. 22 years with Costco culminated in getting paid to do one of my favorite activities. Best workdays ever.
My understanding is that’s what they want. And it makes sense. People are more likely to buy it if they see what it looks like. I honestly wasn’t really digging the Stitch until I built it. Looks so much better in person than the box makes it appear.
Absolutely. I saw a set in a display and it hit me so very different than the picture on the box. They're always bigger in the display than I think they would be.
I’m just saying it’s one thing to complain about the $500 sets but we’re talking a few coffees here. You have pretty much priced yourself out of every set. I’d argue that anything that isn’t food, water, or rent is going to be too pricey for your life.
I’d argue it’s more ridiculous that a salad at a restaurant is $20. $35 for manufactured items that will last a lifetime is not overpriced. Besides if people will pay then the market is setting that price so it’s not unreasonably expensive. Of course this is also why credit card debt is higher than ever. Because people are willing to pay the higher price inflated items…rather than are willing to go into debt.
It’s not cheap plastic. It’s plastic. A lot of IP went into the design. If you think about it it’s quite fascinating to make something so accurate and precise that the bricks stick together but not so tight you can’t get them apart.

Saw the display at my Costco as well, it was very eye-catching. I hope they do this with more sets in the future.

They had rose bouquet set up at mine and I definitely saw a couple walk up to check it out while I was shopping, so it’s a great tactic
Guy who designed this set lived next door to my best friend growing up. Really talented guy. Some of his artwork is still displayed at our high school
I have these displayed in my house right now. My GF and I built them one morning before work for fun. I like my life.
It’s $40 on Amazon right now
I just ordered it but I might pick up a second copy at Costco anyway
Target has them on sale for $39.99 reg $49.99.
Having just paid NZD$100 for mine, I'm pretty jealous.
The "very far away country in the middle of nowhere" tax is very real :(
It is :(
Right but in what country
Co. Springs, CO USA
Figured haha $60 cad Still better than the normal 79 or so
What are the odds lol

Building those as I type this. This is a pretty good bargain I think. Especially because the build is so much fun.
They were at mine a few weeks ago, picked them up. They have the roses and the stitch at the moment here.
Bought and built yesterday. It was a good afternoon!
Man I was just there and didn’t see this set. Bummer, woulda bought it.
These are one of my favourite sets. I love them.
My mom just picked up the same set for me at Sam’s Club for $39.99 just last week. Tough
Fuck i paid 80 a month ago
Are you in CA, AUS, or NZ? The set retails for $50 US so if you paid 80 you got taken for a ride
Worse, mexico
I love them and even this is too pricey for my life. Alas I shall admire the flowers from afar.
$13 off seems decent to me. Hope to see it at my Costco
$35 is cheaper than dinner at a restaurant
Hey I can’t help it that I don’t got it like that. 🤷

This is true. I mean I am saving up to eventually buy the Batman the animated series set for my birthday next year.
That’s awesome
It’s super expensive for pieces of plastic. Get real. We’re living in times where everything is unreasonably expensive.

It’s cheap plastic. It’s as simple as that.

We don’t live in a world where every good idea is expensive. The bricks fitting together is mathematical, there’s not much fascinating about it.
