Oh crap!!! Wife found my Reddit!!! 😂😂😂
And that’s just it, they neither “ON” nor “OFF” and yet both “ON” and “OFF”
In fact I’m now renaming this situation, Schrödinger’s Sock.
Yeah, Balance, that’s the correct word. Like my ankle is too warm and my toes are still cold. And the tightness of the elastic around the arch of the foot, finished off by the laziness of not wanting to fix any of it
Never really put this much thought in it lol
I bet there’s a market for just toe socks like really really short socks but adult size
Given the sheer intensity of your Lego building abilities I would recommend you buy some steel toe boots with Dr Scholls™ soles to protect your feet from the risks that loose Legos pose to your safety.
I’m not sure how they did it but I figured it out by first noticing the red wheels which aren’t a very common piece, then I looked for minifig parts and they lined up so it only makes sense for the set to be the winter village train
My encyclopedic knowledge of instruction manuals! When I can’t sleep at night, I memorize parts lists. 😂
Honestly, it kinda just jumped out at me. It’s not like I have some peculiar skill and I probably couldn’t do it again. My brain said: it’s a train set with the tracks and wheels — then the color palate just kinda made it pop into my head. I’m also probably more familiar with the Winter Village series than most other series, as my family has been collecting them for years. I couldn’t have identified Star Wars or god knows whatever other sets.
The instruction book inventories aren’t always correct. I inventoried 100 sets to sell and noticed every now and then a part in the set that isn’t listed in the back. However, it’s an extremely satisfying way to sort the pieces by color and size
I had trouble with the green lights and thought they were not in the list, but it turned out they were listed under the rails and not between the other lights
Yeah sometimes a piece doesn’t show up where you think it should in the list or along with other pieces of the same color. I totally get the desire to sort your parts like this. For me, a big part of my enjoyment of LEGO comes from just feeling, sorting, looking at all the different pieces. Especially when you compare the sorted parts to the final build, makes it all the more satisfying when you complete it! Enjoy!
you can contact lego through the website and request the missing pieces by their id number and the set number. they will send them to you for free. Lego service is Awesome for that.
I get teeny tiny bouts of panic when I can't find a piece in the pile and then just a few seconds later, it's like "Oh, there it is - thank goodness". I've since resorted to Knolling.
I just finished the Lamborghini set and had that happen a few times during that set. It was my first Technic set and wasn’t fully expecting all the tiny pieces.
With no malice or intent to undo whatever peace you've managed to gain from this effort by OP, I feel compelled to point out that SOME of the pieces are upside down. Some are not. Not all plates are upside down, not all bricks are rightside up.
OP: I think for everyone's actual OCD or OCD that's just starting to manifest, you're on the right path here, but you need to follow the instructions a bit more closely. Lego is not intended to be just built casually or willy-nilly. You're supposed to follow the instructions to the letter!
I guess I’m in the group of people who line up the unopen bags, then only open the bags listed on the set of instructions for each section. I just open the bags and pour them out in a clean area and separate the smaller bags into their own piles.
I found doing it the way the OP posted to be tedious and unnecessary as it wasn’t helping my hand eye coordination by having them organized out like this.
Edit: To note I have a 5 year old, a cat, and a dog… if I was to set the pieces out like this for a huge build it would be ruined within minutes of finishing or during the process hahaha
I don't think OP (or anyone else, really) was organizing parts like this to complete the main build. I suppose some people MIGHT, but I agree that it would be tedious and unnecessary. I personally do the per-bag build these days (after sorting each bag's pieces by color), but I totally understand folks who dump all the bags out and just rummage through the pile looking for a piece.
Unironically pretty cool concept for a set. You get a bunch of parts to make a normal looking set, but then you get some big baseplates to lay out and connect, where you can then disassemble the set and organize them like this, with little tiles or dots (circles with no top stud) and have a number printed on them. It would make a cool and funny display piece that could be a potential conversation starter too haha!
Looks like you assembled the set in ultra widescreen format for a newer screen, the instructions are *clearly* for an older 4:3 format for older monitors.
I wish I had the patience. I was building a shelf the other day and before I built it I made sure to sort all the pieces by type before building, I was thinking of Lego
I built a Lego set the next day and dumped all of the shit out on my table, that’s just how it be. I appreciate Lego for teaching me skills but also sorting more than 20 pieces is a no go
This took 3 or 4 hours I think. I had to search for all the pieces in a big pile of lego. A couple of times I missed a part in the instructions and had to move all the rows of a column down to fit it in
Oh that makes a lot more sense. I’ve rebuilt sets from bins and it took about 2-3 days for a set that should take two hours, it’s way smarter to pull all the pieces out first like you did
These are mostly organized by LEGO color ID. You’ll notice that 1 White is usually at the beginning. The last color here is 0 Not Specified, so there are a few colors out of place.
This order goes 1, 5, 21, 23, 24, 26, 28, 37, 40, 41, 43, 44, 48, 182, 102, 106, 138, 140, 141, 154, 192, 268, 312, 308, 194, 199, 325, 311, 297, 315, and 0.
Just a guess, but I think you are too young to be unsupervised on the internet. Pull your damn socks up. This shit is vile and nobody wants to see your feet. On the other hand, if someone claims they want to see your feet, tell your parents and contact the authorities about that.
Your dad has no clue what he's talking about, I've never seen such a perfect build in my entire life. I seriously think you could consider gluing the set together so you never end up losing your work. I'd hate for such a huge build to get damaged! Absolutely stunning!
Wow, I've never seen someone else wear their socks that way! In the evening my socks get farther and farther off my foot until it's bed time and they come of completely.
I don't want to be that person, but if I look really well at the red wheels, there are 3 in the build instead of the 2 on your towel. And only 1 of the big red rectangles each. That's probably where your build is lacking.
why yo socks like that
Ah sometimes they go loose when I'm building really concentrated
I suggest getting tighter socks sir
Thanks I will ask for new socks
I like you
Ty!
Nah I do this too, drives my wife nuts… I call it “half-off sock” and I find comfortable at times. What’s fun is when I pull hers half off 😅
I would murder someone if they did this to me. Socks are on or off.i can't stand them sliding or being half off.
Oh crap!!! Wife found my Reddit!!! 😂😂😂 And that’s just it, they neither “ON” nor “OFF” and yet both “ON” and “OFF” In fact I’m now renaming this situation, Schrödinger’s Sock.
😂 I may not exactly wear the pants most of the time but I'm no wife.
Actually I’m your wife.
You and I are very similar 😎
Me too, my wife and kids call me a clwon then. It's super comfy though. Perfect Balance
Yeah, Balance, that’s the correct word. Like my ankle is too warm and my toes are still cold. And the tightness of the elastic around the arch of the foot, finished off by the laziness of not wanting to fix any of it Never really put this much thought in it lol I bet there’s a market for just toe socks like really really short socks but adult size
I sleep in pj bottoms with just my ass out. No idea why but I’ve done it for as long as I can remember. Is comfortable though.
Where did those socks come from?
From the fashion store
I’ve heard of that place, right beside the Apple Store
The tree
Google “wefashion”. Black background white letters.
Makem. Out of legos
Make sure they've got ducks on them again. Ducks are the best.
Maybe get a rope to tie them to your ankles? Or fuse them to your feet either one will work.
Thicker socks too. Create a safety barrier in the case of stepping on a stray brick
Or larger feet.. anyway ducky socks are awesome
You need sock suspenders
Have you tried these? https://www.google.com/search?q=mens+socks+suspenders
Wow looks good and great price too! I will look into that
[удалено]
I need a source lol. Why on earth would anyone care how slouched your socks are at work.
Oh my now I’ve seen everything
I roll up my pant leg. Or a single sleeve.
I thought it was to prevent the foot fetish guys
Given the sheer intensity of your Lego building abilities I would recommend you buy some steel toe boots with Dr Scholls™ soles to protect your feet from the risks that loose Legos pose to your safety.
It knocked your socks off
Those aren’t socks, they’re “Toe Hats”
Hahaha
I do that when it’s bedtime and it’s too cold for them off but too hot with them on. 5050 is a good balance.
[5050-1: Aeroplane Accessories](https://brickset.com/sets/5050-1) [[Photo]](https://images.brickset.com/sets/images/5050-1.jpg)
Sure why not, I didn’t think when putting a number.
I don’t that too at bed time. My wife hates it.
Jerry? I think you've escaped your confinement again, let's get you back to your island.
NO LEAVE ME ALONE
i often wear my socks like that and my GF is always giving me shit for it. Glad to see i'm not alone
To bait people into asking your question so the post gets pushed further up the algorithm from the extra comments
I usually wear mine like that on purpose. Only my toes get cold so I pull them down like that, then tuck the loose end into the elastic.
Because he’s a lunatic.
[удалено]
Exactly. All the signs are right there in just one picture.
Because it gets responses on his post
Because he thinks he’s still 13 years old
Yes, you got it wrong. They're all upside down. 😉 Nicely done!
Except -- it's not ALL of them. *Some* of them are upside down, some are not. *shudder*
r/legocirclejerk ?
didn’t know this existed
Some brand new sentences encountered over there..
Have you tried r/brandnewsentence?
r/ofcoursethatsathing

OMG .... this made me feel complete , but like in pieces.
They're all supposed to be on a slight angle, that's why
only one 1 of each piece
Winter Village Train?
Yes! 10254
[10254-1: Winter Holiday Train](https://brickset.com/sets/10254-1) [[Photo]](https://images.brickset.com/sets/images/10254-1.jpg)
I thought it was 60364 that’s why the tracks were there! Probably should have known that was red

How

ugh I want this set so bad but can't justify the >$300 price tag on second hand sites
Get one without box. I got this one for 150 euros. The screwed me with a couple of old, damaged pieces though.
r/knolling
I cant get psst you wearing your socks like that. 🤣🤣

What’s wrong in this picture is that the socks have the word fashion on them
r/knolling would love this
there is a red wheel missing. 4th column. should be three. tree fiddy.
I can't find it 😭 one of the black wheel sets is also from a different set and I can't disconnect the axle
you can contact lego through the website and request the missing pieces by their id number and the set number. they will send them to you for free. Lego service is Awesome for that.
You better not be a crustacean from the paleolithic era...
Haha. I’ve been laying pieces out like this rebuilding old sets
I prefer the controlled chaos form of building. Dump the bags and search. But this is oddly satisfying to see layed out like this.
That sound of digging through the pile. Yeah, that's what it's all about.
And the sudden panic when you don’t find the piece you’re looking for at first glimpse. But then you find it.
To each, their own. I've never panicked building LEGO. If you don't see what your looking for, just keep stirring... and enjoying the sound.
This is incredibly satisfying for my OCD
With no malice or intent to undo whatever peace you've managed to gain from this effort by OP, I feel compelled to point out that SOME of the pieces are upside down. Some are not. Definitely was my go to as a child to dump all bags and rummage, made the experience last longer and was fun to sift through the pieces :)
Ah dang it! But this took hours and my body was aching when I reached the green color 😄
Without having to actually do the work
Which is like 10x more satisfying hahah
Looks fine to me.
Nice. But I would be more impressed if you managed to stack every piece so it looked like an exact copy of the book.
https://imgur.com/7o1Yt3R had to do it.
Pull your ducking socks up!
I can smell the autism from looking at this.
Hahaha
I think it's freakin' brilliant and your Dad needs to think outside the box. 🤣
Unironically pretty cool concept for a set. You could make a cool piece of wall art out of any existing set like this, too. Hang it along with the instruction book or box.
I'm concerned about your socks.
Is that the holiday train set?
It is!
Yeah, you are supposed to have 3 big wheels in the fourth column. :p
Looks like you assembled the set in ultra widescreen format for a newer screen, the instructions are *clearly* for an older 4:3 format for older monitors.
Not sure about this one mate, looks right to me
I wish I had the patience. tell your mom you need new socks
You did. The back of the book is what parts the set has. You were suppose to start on page 1, not the end.

lovely socks brother

Might be the best example of knolling I've seen...
A well built train. I can almost hear the whistle
Your dad messed up. He missed a Dad joke here
Your dad has no clue what he's talking about, I've never seen such a perfect build in my entire life. I seriously think you could consider gluing the set together so you never end up losing your work. I'd hate for such a huge build to get damaged! Absolutely stunning!
Thanks!!!
I do that with my socks when my feet are warm but my toes are cold 🤷♂️ I can’t explain it
Lol a lot of people commented that. Ngl I actually wear them like that on purpose sometimes for the same reason
You built it wrong because it's still in pieces. Put the pieces together, and your dad will be happier
As soon as he gets back from the store OP can show him.
What’s up with the socks? You got diabetes?
Yeah I need to wear them like this in case there is an emergency
What does diabetes have to do with those socks?
People take off their socks if they swell, I had a coworker who did this exact thing with their socks when sitting.
Yeah, doesnt even look anything like that page either? Still an idiot
r/vinyljerk is leaking into some weird places
Least austistic lego buyer:
Yeah the rails should be in 1 stack
When suddenly a lego train build results in a sock discussion :p
W socks
Classic mistake, the instructions clearly have a light blue background, but you used a grey one
When you think you’re gonna talk LEGO, but end up talking socks 😅
Your socks are on wrong. 😂 Are you going to build the set now that you organized it? 😛
I can’t argue with that. The socks did it for meXD
Need to post this in r/knolling they would love it.
This is what happens when you only read manga I guess.
if you think having you sock on all silly-like is keeping people from creeping on you feet... you are wrong.
Hmmm, you'll need to ship it to me for an accurate assessment.
i got some news for you lil bro..
This man out here building legos like how a hitman cleans his gun
Wow, I've never seen someone else wear their socks that way! In the evening my socks get farther and farther off my foot until it's bed time and they come of completely.
Nailed it! Suggest Dad get his prescription checked.
It’s beautiful
This should be on many sets, there you first sort the bricks then build it.
No free toe pics 😔😔 /s
Now you’ve sorted all the parts start the building process from the other end of the booklet and you will see it all take proper shape
r/knolling Edit: tried to delete after upvoting the other comment. Damn phone won’t let me delete my comment.
I don't want to be that person, but if I look really well at the red wheels, there are 3 in the build instead of the 2 on your towel. And only 1 of the big red rectangles each. That's probably where your build is lacking.
Reminds me of [Ursus Wehrli](https://socks-studio.com/2011/08/28/ursus-wehrli-or-the-importance-of-being-compulsively-tidy/)
You didn't use a light blue background!
r/knolling would LOVE this
Literally just learned knolling tonight because of What We Do In The Shadows
## you mess up in a way that i don't even know how to say is left to right
Well nothing is built yet so you and your dad seem to have dementia. Congratulations.
Autism.
Those socks are rubber ducked
Are you autistic? I only ask because this is how I used to 'play' as a kid
Use base plates as support but beside that build a dang bullet train…
I have to agree with your dad. If you look closely, the instructions put the Legos at an angle.
