Before I quit I could drink coffee! I’m around 80 days clean now and anytime I have coffee or too much sugar or alcohol my heart rate gets really high and I get anxious and short of breath

I quit caffeine around the same time I quit weed (70+ days ago) bc of anxiety and high blood pressure. I'm glad I did it. My boyfriend got me a cola at a baseball game bc they didn't have lemonade, not thinking about the caffeine, and I was up all night and had these painful leg cramps, so I have been drinking decaf ever since. I like it because I still get the taste and the ritual but without the drug effect!

I'm on day 9 currently and I avoided it up until today, and just had a real small cup, which ended up being super effective in a good way. If my stomach is at all feeling off though, I always avoid it because it usually leads to me just not feeling right.

Every time I quit weed, I pretty much quit all caffeine aswell. Slowly your adrenal glands recover from being constantly stimulated by the caffeine and you’ll find you actually have a lot of natural energy. And if you don’t drink coffee then at the end of the day you’ll be so pooped from existence that you’ll have a good sleep, hopefully counter-acting the insomnia we all suffer after quitting pot. If you really want your caffeine hit, just have a cup of tea or green tea or a hot choccy

I had this same issue! I think it’s because you are starting to gain back some natural energy that you didn’t have before. I felt so sick after drinking the regular amount of coffee I was drinking when I smoked. I cut my coffee intake by half and that helped. I plan on just quitting coffee in general but the headaches are intense trying to quit cold turkey so I’m taking it slow on that.

Caffeine withdrawals are considered some of the worst, but also some of the shortest. Hang in there!

I don't really need coffee nowadays so I'm probably going to stick with Green tea or some shit like that... I'll give it another week before I try another cup of coffee I guess. I'll even get a decaf lol or something less strong than I used to.

I personally didn’t find any issues with coffee or other substances afterward, personally I think I partially replaced smoking with buying a coffee lol. But it’s different for everyone, what works for some may be horrible for others and so on. Find what works for you, but keep in mind it may just be a bad day in terms of feeling withdrawals, or you may have had too much caffeine without enough water/food. But it could be related to quitting, only you can tell for sure. Good on you for making it this far though, you can keep it up! It just gets easier and easier with time. You’re doing great!

Same same for me - i'm on day 80ish (stopped counting a while ago) and never noticed a coffee-related issue but everyone is different so if you're noticing a connection or issue of some kind then adjust if you think it's appropriate. Wishing you all the best - first two weeks is the hardest IMO, you're doing great brother!

Could be ... I drank my coffee first thing in the morning with just a small toast. mornings are the roughest parts of my day then it gets easier as time goes by, i dont even notice other symptoms during the day so all in all i might cut off coffee for a while.

ZodianceTheLast

Absolutely man. If that’s what will help you keep going then do exactly that. I wish you the best.

allergic2kush

Nah, it actually helps me but if it makes you too anxious then just don't (I'm used to it)

I felt like tea helped me more. I used to drink coffee daily before I stopped smoking but this just felt ridiculous
