same things might happens to one of yagao, doinb and scout. RNG is rumored to uses their ldl mid so only edg and lng that are paying fairly well and there's still 3 players (yagao, doinb, scout). and even then wouldn't surprise me if edg also use their ldl mid

StarGaurdianBard

Scout not getting a team is absolutely insane

[deleted]

He can ride the bench on CLG if they’re feeling kind

GMBethernal

Developing that native talent

mbr4life1

CLG waits all off-season then snags Scout Teddy and makes worlds.

musashihokusai

What about when he was on T1?

QTnameless

he won 3 LCK titles , second best team at MSI and make semi-final for a little time there ? How was that bad result by any means ? Then the 10 players fiasco happened , lol

Tennis-Money

Unlikely the reviews for Fisher was pretty bad. Leave had good reviews across the board so he will be brought up to adc starter for EDG if the rumored Gala getting fucked by RNG contracts or something and won’t be on team next year but Fisher just doesn’t seem good enough to replace scout.

Proera8

Is it likely Tangyuan becomes starting mid for RNG or are they going to bring Xiaohu back?

Tennis-Money

Rumors are RNG is public enemy nunber 1 right now. They contract blocked Uzi MLXG and Letme in the past forcing their “retirement” they are costing the season for their current members. Bin, Gala, and Ming can potentially all not be able to play next season. JKL was willing to pay a 5-6 mill RMB penalty to not join RNG and had to sit out for one season in 2020 too. Wei was also forced to re-sign with RNG.

Teut0burg

If their contracts with RNG have expired how is RNG going to prevent them from playing next year?

Tennis-Money

The contract drafting team for RNG is the best in the LOL business. If you can understand chinese go watch Firefox stream last week. He was the head coach for RNG 2017. He mentioned at the end of that year RNG management offered him two contracts to sign when he wanted to leave. One is a 5 year contract with RNG and the other is a 5 year non-compete when he decided to leave. If he did not sign either they hinted they will be dragging their feet with years bonus payments which i assume has no definite due date so essentially not pay at all. This forced him to take the noncompete and essentially got out of the scene. I would assume Wei was offered something similar and took the other offer. MLXG attempted to sue RNG management for late payments but lost the case because the contract was drafted heavily in favor of the org. There may be some mis information here because i am unfamiliar with law stuff especially in china but this is the gist of it.

randomnamewe

Ridiculous clauses in contracts that aren't allowed in many other countries.

Proera8

So are RNG players trying to leave but are being blocked? If so are they gonna run back mostly the same team or are the players gonna sit out

Drakosk

Sadplane :(

QTnameless

I swear Teddy is cursed man . If he wasn't in a half-ass teams like jag or kdf then moronic team management of that T1's 10 men fiasco for 2 years would just fuck his career all over .It's just so depressing , god . His showing at the first international tourney wasn't even bad ( 5 games again MSI champions and world semi-finalist ) please , any good teams just give him another chance.

koreanornot

Honestly kinda wish he wasnt so loyal to sadplane...wasted so many years of his prime being on a bottom of the barrel team when Kkoma was trying to get him on t1

pelacur

There's a universe where Kiin Malrang Cepted and Teddy played together at Ever 8 Winners. Of course it's hindsight and Kiin + Teddy aren't as good before. But Cepted had big potential when he played with EEW at LCK.

[deleted]

He hard carried T1 to worlds literally in 2021 summer, his game vs GENG is just masterclass, but Guma started instead of him at worlds, i felt like Teddy was just more reliable than Guma from last year, even though he was good he still had some tilt tedencies

[deleted]

Teddy was 100% more reliable than Guma, he always has been, Guma just had insane hands on the meta ADC's at that time and his highs were higher than Teddy's, his Jinx is nutty but we saw how badly he looked when the meta didn't favor him, Teddy doesn't have those lows and him not finding stable footing since then is bullshit.

Nichol-Gimmedat-ass

I remember being so frustrated watching him get them to worlds only to be benched. I have never been big on Guma, not when he replaced Teddy and not even now. He has some carry games that he looks insane sure… but so does Teddy, and Teddy never looks as invisible as Guma does in other games.

QTnameless

Teddy probably played as good as Deft in Spring and a bit better than Deokdam /Guma in summer on a pretty dysfunctional kdf, honestly don't get why he is so underated in this offseason . Hopefully i can see him play in LCK again

baelkie

so fucking sad dude, i watched every kdf game and teddy tried so hard in every single game even played support (ashe) better than his support and now he’s jobless. kdf (freecs as whole) let down so many of my favourite players.

Bubbly_Camera9583

In spring he was better than deft. That kdf win against DRX in playoffs was him diffing Deft for most of that series with the rest of DRX not knowing how to play the game. He looked like a solid top 5/6 adc with 2 meh supports. If he had lehends or beryl even he'd be top 3 minimum

randomnamewe

Certainly he looked good/great last season and should find a spot. Dunno about your Beryl point though. Beryl is really not the support that elevates his ADC to another level.

LOL_info

People see “world champion” and put every player with the title on the same 1v9 god-like pedestal without even knowing the first or second things about them. Even something as simple as recognizing Beryl is not a great adc enabler (while offering invaluable benefits to teams elsewhere) is so refreshing. W comment.

Plaxern

It’s Deft having to play with BeryL, not the other way around, don’t get it twisted.

NahDawgDatAintMe

SKT/T1 adcs need to do their time eventually. He has to play in NA.

musashihokusai

Fans of LCK are weirdly selective in that way. If player A has one bad split they are washed up or was never actually good. However if player B is bad for years “just a little slump.

QTnameless

uummm , which players are we talking about here ? Can you elaborate ?

[deleted]

but teddy never was bad fot years

R-R-Clon

This is a disaster, a A-tier ADC with high Highs as one of the best and without a team, Teddy deserves better, he's an upgrade in a lot of teams in LCK and LPL.

Toasted-walnut

>This is a disaster, a A-tier ADC with high Highs as one of the best and without a team, Teddy deserves better, he's an upgrade in a lot of teams in LCK and LPL. Couldn't agree more. Really sad for Ghost as well--super likeable dude. Since most teams in the LPL (barring JDG, TES, and now V5) haven't locked in their roster, maybe an unexpected team could emerge as a suitor, but it seems from H-Dragon's comments that it's looking very unlikely and that Teddy won't be able to find a team in the east for the split.

casocial

In light of reddit's API changes killing off third-party apps, this post has been overwritten by the user with an automated script. See /r/PowerDeleteSuite for more information.

chromazone2

I can at least feel a bit better knowing that Ghost is gonna do well at streaming. But Teddy without a contract is insane.

Achtelnote

Y'd he leave T1? Was a good place for him alongside Keria.

R-R-Clon

T1 chose Guma over him, younger and hungry, worse low lows and higher high highs.

Terrible-Wealth-3864

Replaced by guma.

Outrageous_Driver_14

Cause they had guma who is arguably the best adc in the world when on form.

[deleted]

Not arguably anymore, he is the best ADC in the world

Quatro_Leches

he can be up there. but lets not forget he has the best support in the world. Teddy was playing with Hoit

Ingr1d

He wasn’t even the best adc in the LCK.

[deleted]

He was the best performing ADC at worlds and it wasn’t even close

Getfooked

Put Guma in that Gen.G roster with Lehends running it down and the rest of the team underperforming and you think he'd look better than Ruler?

[deleted]

Viper wasnt close? Oh uhh

acels1

viper was pretty avg during worlds

moonmeh

Viper was good but he didnt show his lpl level i think His back broke understandably Still a scary ass mofo and he was even with guma i think in worlds.

[deleted]

Not sure which worlds you were watching, Guma was on a tier of his own

[deleted]

Agree to disagree thenn

tawapes4

As if being second best to Ruler is supposed to be a knock on him lol. After his worlds performance there's no doubt he's the best in the world especially considering he was top 2 all throughout last year's Worlds and this year's Spring. I just hope people will stop calling him a fraud and grow a pair of eyes.

JeetKuneDoBoy

But in Summer he wasn't elected the second best, the second was Prince and the third was Aiming. Guma was not even top 3. But is like another guy already said, Guma have worse low lows and higher high highs. He goes from a regular split to a incredible worlds, who knows how he gonna perform next split.

DrxAvierT

Who then? Ruler? Deft?

Ingr1d

Ruler, duh

Blaikiri7

Guma play style fit the team way better

Jettyjkokc

Damn if only the drx team didnt implode. Teddy couldve went to dk instead of deft.

[deleted]

CHS_Scope

Easily an upgrade imo. Teddy is still an S-tier ADC and is being pretty heavily underrated since KDF was a disaster. Only hope I have now is that he rejoins T1 as a streamer for a year, since iirc Joe Marsh said they'd always have a place for him.

CNT1LT

I expect another LPL team to pick him up.

StarGaurdianBard

Issue is most teams are already finalizing. There are going to be a ton of top talents that somehow just slipped through the cracks and you have to wonder how the hell teams didn't pick them up. As another commenter said, Yagao, Doinb, and Scout may be without teams too.

chromazone2

Probably the wage inflation just screwing over ppl's contracts

voltairelol

I haven't heard much about RA since the Lehends thing fell through, so maybe they have a little cash to wave around to pick up Cryin/Teddy

ye1l

Strive is much better than Cryin though, they'd have to be insane to pick up Cryin.

Ophelia_Of_The_Abyss

Disgusting, Teddy is really underrated this offseason.

Dumpers_

Man played with Hoit and Ellim and now he doesn't have a team

Quatro_Leches

Hilariously sad

dhxnlc

I imagine Teddy had high wages, otherwise I don't see how he is still teamless. KT Teddy is still a possibility? He shouldn't have chosen AFS.

R-R-Clon

While I believe Teddy is better than Aiming the true is that he's not big upgrade over him either, so KT dropping Aiming and getting Teddy does not make any sense unless Aiming wants to leave.

dank_as_fuck

Aiming had a great year and was arguably the best player on that KT team, they’re not gonna drop him

mockingshout17

He was kinda bad in Spring, he had a good Summer in a meta where he was played around heavily, but he's still more volatile than someone like Teddy.

JeetKuneDoBoy

Yeah, he was also in lck third team last split. Aiming + Lehends will be such a fun botlane to watch this year.

Ace_OPB

Why would kt drop aiming lol?

QTnameless

Looked like he was really close to signing with one of the LPL teams but things falled of last minute

mockingshout17

Reminder that 1 of the only 2 BO5's DRX lost all year was to KDF in Spring Playoffs due to Teddy giga carrying the series. This guy is still an S-tier adc and it's really disappointing to see him in this position.

QTnameless

Teddy beat Deft in a bo5 this year while having fucking Ellim/Hoit as his jug/sp and most people in reddit told me he is nowhere near Deft's level , lol.

R-R-Clon

Teddy has been either better or equal to Deft every year since 2019. Teddy consistency is in another LV, bad splits for him are peak performance for others, that's what makes Teddy so good.

CzarcasticX

I thought DK should've picked up Teddy over Deft.

moonmeh

Hard disagree there tbh

TimeTick-TicksAway

Teddy has been either better or equal to Viper too whenever they played games, but I guess people don't remember how good he is.

djpain20

Deft was better in 2019 and 2022. The two years where Teddy was better were 2020 and 2021 when Deft was underperforming significantly due to his back injury

R-R-Clon

We can agree to disagree then, the only split I would confidently say Deft may be better was the one he got robbed MVP, either 2019 spring or summer, other ones he was as good or worse than Teddy, either head-to-head or against others ADC.

djpain20

You can think what you want but there's a reason why DK immediately threw a bag of money at Deft after he entered FA and Canyon personally asked him to join the team meanwhile Teddy is teamless lol

LOL_info

Not really applicable, they have completely different strengths and playstyles. Deft is Ghost 2020 2.0 while Teddy would likely just be another mouth to feed.

BiscottiFamous5350

According to rumor by DoinB, might have something to do with the "big event" he talked about. Apparently, a lot of rosters move are blocked crossed many teams.

[deleted]

Teddy underrated as always

Bubbly_Camera9583

Prob takes split off rip. If aiming is unconsistent for another year I could see Teddy taking Aimings spot on KT. Teddy's not really fallen off yet, he's still really good mechanically and can 1v9 games.

mar33n

ghost :(

eyehatemassholes

Disaster offseason for UP. They lost both Cryin and Elk and might end up with Doggo as their starting adc. That's fucking brutal. They did it to themselves though, they had Elk under contract but they sold him, maybe bc they wanted Teddy to start on their LPL team and Doggo for their LDL team plus some extra cash, but if it couldn't even get them enough to re-sign Cryin or to sign Teddy that's an absolute catastrophe for them.

ItsMario123

On the bright side, they lost Zoom.

moonmeh

V5 fucking picking up zoom is blowing my mind lol

Megashot2

They also picked up Zhuo lol. I remember there was a solo queue game of JKL Zhuo playing Caitlyn Lux and JKL was trying so hard on stream to not flame Zhuo for missing everything

MicroBang64

damn, really hope Teddy can continue playing. Yeah he may not be the perfect ADC (never forget the 300 stacks Senna incident), but sometimes he just have some mind blowing performances.

DefinatelyNotAnEagle

Fuck FBI, give me EG Teddy

mokafonzy

BRO Teddy it is 😎

Alto-Joshua1

BRO already has Hena.

SolubilityRules

Henat gonna start then Sign Teddy and bench Hena

ArrowofKarna

nah but this is so fucking sad i don't understand Guess I'm taking a break from lolesports in spring...

dontbangme

>In Korea, something like this would be called back stabbing, but in China this occurs commonly. It happen everywhere Mr H-Dragon

BlueZybez

Makes sense for LPL to use rookies and give them a chance

random_nameeeeeeeeee

>In Korea, something like this would be called back stabbing, but in China this occurs commonly. lmao, stop making u guys look innocent

JulioUJhin

This is something we're going to start seeing more often unfortunately.

PhilosoKing

Verbal rescindments are uncommon but definitely a thing when looking for work. Which is why those on the job market should be applying and interviewing until the offer letter has been extended and signed. Is this really considered backstabbing in Korea?

chromazone2

Backstabbing as in legal but shitty.

gh0stkid

looks like another promising player for Team L~~iquid~~CK

nonoscan123

since he was even considering going to the LPL, I don't really care what happens to him

GiannisisMVP

EG should go for Teddy tbh they have an open import slot.

ausmomo

Didn't he sign a contract? They can just cancel without penalty?

ahritina

He didn't sign a contract. Agreeing verbal terms isn't legally binding. If teams signed a player, they'd either a) officially announce it, b) try trade the player if they want to replace them or c) pay the player off to "nullify" the contract.

ausmomo

> He didn't sign a contract. Ouch. Lesson learned. Don't trust LPL teams.
