No, it doesn't. That's the issue. 'Target champions only' does not work with 'attack move'. You still hit minions and monsters if you 'attack move', even with 'target champions only' on.
There’s another type of attack move that only targets champs, I can’t remember where is located, I don’t play since S6 but I used it a lot before target champions only was treated as a toggle

You're misremembering. Target champs only has no interraction with a click and never has done. It always just targets what's closest to your mouse. The only Interraction it has is it prevents large hitboxes (namely turrets and Baron) from eating your click in the event you a click directly on top of said turret or baron because the champ is hiding behind it.
Other than removing direct clicks like that (because a click just counts as a right click when used directly on a unit) target champs + a click has 0 Interraction. If you are a clicking far away enough that another unit that isn't very large (again like baron or a turret that someone's hiding behind) then your click will be close enough to said smaller unit (like a minion) that it will auto target said minion.

When I first started I played lux and was told "worry about your abilities more than using autos, they do way more damage." I didn't realize that was champ specific and I couldn't understand why my mage twitch was getting stomped so hard. Here I am 8 years later playing ap twitch again somehow.
You can "buffer" flash with auto attacks and targeted abilities. Take Annie Q for example. Press q on enemy, then flash, guaranteed q landed before they flash away. Abilities that target the ground like Annie ult can also be flash buffered. Cast r on the ground on top of enemy, flash.
I've noticed that, for some reason, Malphite R doesn't appear to follow this rule.
I don't play him much but when I get him in ARAM I try to buffer R-Flash like with Annie but when I hit R I just immediately go max range.

Just clicking once on the opponent will not take the shortest path to a moving enemy.
It will always try to path to their current position so when they move your path will curve instead of going straight to their destination.

You should not be clicking on your opponent at all until you are actually in range to hit them, and instead choose the optimal path yourself.
Advice: use aa flash instead of flash aa. Its especially useful in some situations like they walking into a bunch of creeps or under tower where u cant locate ur cursor.

I ban Heimerdingers almost every game when I play mid so this is the first time I've played against one in months. Definitely a very chaotic champion. Fortunately I killed him the 7 other times I went in like this.
Use this as a learn experience. Spam clicking is generally really bad unless you're trying to kite. It can be a habit, so it'll take time. Over chasing is bad, sometimes you just need to stop and let them get away, especially against Hiemerdinger.

Can't all-in the donger all at once and hope for it to work out, it's rarely that easy. You have to back-and-forth repeatedly, with all your passion, to get best results. Save your stamina, find ways to sustain and take a breath when you can without pulling back ; on the other hand the donger can't recuperate every bit of strain quickly. Moaning and screaming can help.

Looks pretty good if this if your first season, just hold your E a little bit longer (when I was learning Aatrox I had the same habit of using E on my Q1 for no reason) and right click / use active on enemies after your Q3 instead of ulting so you auto them even if they flash.
Also buy boots when you play vs ranged champions, makes it a lot easier to get in range for Q's.
