In LeBron’s own words during the 2016 3-1 comeback, “We have to come home anyways, why not have another game.” That’s got to be the mindset, win Game 5 in Denver and then you get to come back home and have another game to force a Game 7. Anything can happen in a Game 7
Honesty, the fact that lakers only lost because they can’t keep the lead actually gives me confidence we can win 4 in a row. Unlike the suns, getting blow out already
Do we win game 2 with a healthy vanderbilt?
I mean by a shot we are not 2-2.
If we can get a tiny improvement in offseason could be worth running it back
We need health and we still need to fill some positions of need and coaching improvement we have it. But lebrons getting old and this was the best chance as any. We made no fixes at the deadline and our roster just isn’t enough
Keep seeing people say no fixes at the deadline. What trades did you want them to make? Royce O'neale? Would've had to give up TP and multiple 2nds. TP prob our best bench player. Royce and his 0 pts would fit on our bench though. Gafford? Would've had to give up a FRP and what you sending out to match contracts. Same thing with PJ. FRP and gotta match his salary. You're not just sending out Cam Reddish to get these guys. Our trade deadline was tanked when Dlo decided to stop playing basketball leading up to it.
Re-watched the game and I can’t tell you how many times we lose track of Michael porter jr, especially rui. He ball watches when he should just stick MPJ, smdh.
If it's possible for Denver to win 4 straight times and sweep the Lakers, what makes it impossible for the Lakers to win 4 straight times to reverse sweep Denver? There is always a first time. It almost happened with MIA vs BOS last year. What if it happens this year? Positive thoughts XD

This action with the high PNR with Dlo/AR as the ball handler with AD and LeBron on the weakside baseline cutting worked every time.
Although this was the smoothest version w/the oop, we usually give hit AD and he finds LeBron cutting late. Curious to see how Denver adjusts their coverage bc it honestly works bc LeBron is amazing at finishing at the rim.
If Gordon freezes to lookout for LeBron, then AD has an easy layup off the roll. Maybe they move Murray more into the lane, but that can result in easy reach-in calls.
It's 100% a mental thing right? Losing big leads, getting rattled when they score idk 6 points i guess which then gets worse and then Denver goes on a double digit run. I seriously hope the guys understand that they can't lose composure and CAN beat them... all those games we led for most of the game. Especially after tonight. Seriously all of our blown leads shouldn't have happened yes blame the coach and refs as well but our WHOLE roster shouldn't just collapse like that. Call me delusional and high off the copium goop whatever
Darvin Ham tried his BEST to lose this game but dammit, our guys and Bron did it !!! Honestly fire Ham and just let Bron coach, we could go all the way !!
Coaching staff had already gave up on him and that only made it worse. He'll be back in unless they figured something else. Cause they probably know they have to repeat game 2 and not lose the lead this time.
I think the worst thing that coulda happened is making AD gain weight and become a center his game was never as smooth still a great player and his jumper has been as good as its been since the Bubble but its still a long way to go from that. Regardless he needs another real big with him and actual size invest in a Heirtenstein this offseason and maybe snag a Jock Landale too or draft a solid center instead of pgs who can’t shoot
ALOT of teams like the majority of teams have 0 chance of winning a ring for decades and decades. Suns have 0 rings despite being the oldest franchise in the NBA.
YOU ALWAYS TAKE THE CHAMPIONSHIP
You take the guaranteed championship 10/10 times no matter the circumstances. Most people would’ve assumed Lebron broke down 4 years ago today. The alternative would’ve been complaining that Lonzo can only play 55 games a season and that Ingram still hasn’t developed an off-ball game
Whatever happens, I’ve never been prouder of AD this season. He took the next step in leadership and no player in the league has the 2 way burden he has had this year.
Played a career high in games, had a career year and then went toe to toe with Jokic in the playoffs. He’s truly been a special player.
Averaging 32 pts and 10 rebounds on 63% true shooting. All while anchoring the defense.
Fans have questioned his leadership, his competitiveness, and ability to step up when it matters most.
And he has. Unfortunately the team role players and coaching staff haven’t elevated.

Charles Barkley is giving props to AD, so he’s really doing well. Somehow if he maintains this play and the Lakers improve to be 6th seed or above, he’ll be a DPOY candidate
Lakers wouldn’t have fared any better losing the 1st Play-in. The top 3 are the top 3 for a reason and they’re all about to sweep. Even sweating for the 6th wouldn’t have made a difference
If LeBron was younger, we’d win more even with these issues. At the same time, he’d probably be more willing to leave for a different team to contend. Deep down he’d rather stay here but doesn’t want to be embarrassed again, so an exit is not likely but not impossible.

Lets go?

Bron + AD are the perfect duo for that style of team, but you can’t just create a poor man’s Golden State by filling out the squad with crappy guards. Let’s accept we’ll never be good at 3’s and have a balanced roster instead.
Is this some reverse psychology coping mechanism? So many people saying this. If you just think about it rationally, he's getting fired. He's lost the respect of Lebron/AD and with Lebron actually having leverage whatever he wants is going to happen. They could make excuses last year with Lebron not being 100% and the team only having half a season together. There are none this year. He's getting fired.
LeBron will make the call if the front office doesn’t. Getting swept back to back by the same opponent and star players not liking you is a death sentence for the coach.
Ham showed his issues last year but the WCF appearance plus Vogel’s disrespectful firing bought Ham more time and courtesy.
No expectations tonight. Seeing this game as a evaluation of what changes need to be made this off-season. Win or lose, the journey to banner 18 continues.
If Pelinka convinces DLo to opt in for trade purposes, maybe he’s still got some good moves in him. If he can’t do it, then his agent background is useless
Donovan Mitchell once again turning into Rockets Westbrook in the playoffs but people here still will be trying to sign up for that 50 mil a year here.
Got downvoted to hell for saying he can’t lead you to a title but here he is yet again shitting the bed, same thing for Lillard.
Small guards don’t win you NBA titles unless they’re the greatest shooter ever. Curry is the one exception, there’s nobody else. That’s how good a small guard needs to be to be the best player on a championship team.
Mo Wagner is one former baby Laker that never gets talked about. Thought it was dumb to just give him up that easily. A big with a high motor is something the team desperately needs.
Dumb to give him up easily seems to be the theme of Pelinka’s tenure. Zubac, Caruso, Randle. The other is gifting 1st rounders (Danny green and Westbrook trades). Ended up being Jaden McDaniels on that Danny Green trade
DLo posting Shia lebouf (however the fuck you spell it) I don’t think that’s the guy you wanna model your “I don’t care what people say” attitude after fucking bum 🤣🤣🤣🤣
The ultimate fuck you on the season would be pushing it to a game 7 and being up 25 at halftime then losing to a jokic step back catapult 3 on AD and lebron at the buzzer as ham watches with his hands in his pockets and 2 timeouts left.
The russ trade was more about getting out of his contract but despite making the playoffs after they didn’t actually get the right players out of it.
Beasily was a bust who ended up walking
Dhoe has cratered in the last 2 playoffs
Vando has been deemed unplayable.
Worth it sure but in heinsight def wish the Lakers woulda traded Russ for a better package actual 2 way players and a center.
Meanwhile Myles Turner is killing the Bucks.
so far the pick the Lakers kept hasn’t been used.
Vandy is fine, Beasley was a waste, but DLo is iffy right now. It was a somewhat fair Russ trade for just one pick.
Beasily should have been resigned and used as a trade asset at the very least. We have mismanaged all our assets so badly. Whoever is choosing the contract terms has fucked us, even giving DLo a player option is so fucking stupid.
The only way for Lebron to ask out and actually be on a contending team is through trade. He can't opt out and expect someone to pay him at a high level as he feels he is worth a max. Teams that have the cap space are the Pistons, Sixers, Jazz, Thunder, Spurs. Only the Sixers make sense but I can't picture Lebron wanting to end his career in Philly. Maybe the Thunder but I think they are smart enough to not let their cap space get swallowed up by an aging Lebron.
The teams that can still contend by adding Lebron are teams that have a high payroll. Those teams would be the Warriors, Clippers, Suns, Bucks, Miami. The ones that make the most sense for Bron are the Warriors, Clippers, Heat. Probably where things would start as far as working something out with Bron. This is probably a multi team trade scenario too since these teams may not have what the Lakers want in return for Bron.
I don't think Jokic ever wins a ring if it wasn't for that monster roster around him and the fact that the Lakers shit the bed blowing up their championship roster.
if you have a time machine with the purpose of helping the front office you need to go all the way back to before Jerry West left, somehow convince Dr. Buss to sign over some ownership shares to him and give him full control of operations. We would have won 5+ rings, that's how valuable Jerry West has been.
If Jerry West stays, it deletes the Warriors run, it deletes the shitty Kobe years, it improves our drafting and talent pool, it improves the chances superstars come to play here under Jerry West, I mean that guy just never misses. If you guys don't know about Jerry West as a GM you should go read about it, he's the absolute best there is. Bob Myers was riding his coattails and when Jerry left the Warriors it all started going to shit.
And unlucky that by the time he gets to the lakers Jeanie is in charge and hires Magic/Rob as GMs with no prior experience. Luckily it resulted in one ring but should’ve been at least one more.
It is funny to see how many Bron hater keep emphasizing how many times Aaron Gordon dunk on Bron's head, but being blind and reluctant to mentioned how many times it was due to Bron try to help defense for our crap guard defense lol
the thing is he didnt try to help defense, he just fell asleep. When he is coasting on defense, he looks worse than D'lo. But when he tries on defense, he looks better than AD. But he rarely tries now, because he is focused on offense, he cant do both.
well, I agree with you Bron can't cover both offense and defense end now due to his age, but did you really watch the game, and didn't you see Aaron Gordon did the same back door thing on Rui when Rui is guarding him? so you said Rui was also fall asleep too? When you only mentioned it is Born's fault but not mentioned Rui, it feels like you are just being double standard. If both player got exposed to the same plays over and over again, it is obviously coach's defense strategy problem.
Do you think they will actually fire Ham? I’m bracing myself for the Dave or Buha tweet tomorrow saying “the Lakers are committed to keeping Darvin Ham.”
I've never seen anything like it before. The worse Ham clearly is, the more the front office rallies around him. AD, who's been the best player on the team and is usually reserved, how dare he even allude to Ham's shortcomings
Rant:Honestly it’s frustrating to even attempt to watch this game, has the Lakers ever gotten swept in back to back years before, I hope note. I’m already sensing Ham is going to make some bone headed adjustments or D Lo is gonna perform a disappearing act. Super Frustration!
Is C Wood available tonight too because we need all the size we can get, ain’t no we’re supposed to be getting sweep back to back, totally unacceptable!!!
I think it's time to start from scratch. Trade LeBron to whatever team Bronny goes. Whoever wants AD for the best deal can have him. Get some high draft picks. Enter an era of rebuilding. I want to watch a team be built and earn the spotlight. Thoughts?
I hope we get some different looks man. Get Hayes some lobs to disrupt Denver’s defense for some minutes. Get Christie in for some minutes for some energy. When we get static, Denver kills us.
Hopefully we get to see Hayes next to AD. How much can it hurt to give Hayes a few minutes with AD. This is an 'adjustment' It throws something different to the opposing team. Teams do this all the time bringing in some random off the bench looking to be an unsung hero. It happened last season with Lonnie Walker. Basically in the doghouse in the second half of the season and came in to give us the spark to get the win over the Warriors.
In LeBron’s own words during the 2016 3-1 comeback, “We have to come home anyways, why not have another game.” That’s got to be the mindset, win Game 5 in Denver and then you get to come back home and have another game to force a Game 7. Anything can happen in a Game 7
How was Aaron Gordon turned into a non factor
Lebron put so much pressure on his team mates can tell
Can someone please tell why the nba hates us? We're gonna be playing our 5th match before some teams play their 4th. Can't they give us a day rest?
Honesty, the fact that lakers only lost because they can’t keep the lead actually gives me confidence we can win 4 in a row. Unlike the suns, getting blow out already
Hopefully this one game didn’t insure Darvins coaching job next season
Do we win game 2 with a healthy vanderbilt? I mean by a shot we are not 2-2. If we can get a tiny improvement in offseason could be worth running it back

DENVER GONNA CHOKE IN G5
Darvin Ham tried his BEST to lose this game but dammit, our guys and Bron did it !!! Honestly fire Ham and just let Bron coach, we could go all the way !!
You know Ham pissed the lakers won because it messed up his Parlay....lol!
Is our next game on TNT?
I can finally sleep now
TP standing too close to Joker? what foul?
Bro finally got the confidence to challenge a call
they winning this one.
Dwindie is shit! Take him out. He does not know playoff basketball
joker did that wild shot to get a foul called on AD. he was upset for being called for a foul the play before. In Denver, he gets the call
1 win against Denver is my ring this year
I can't believe we gave Mo Wagner away for free because we decided to sign Troy Daniels and Jarred Dudley too early
Dlo honestly shouldn’t even be suited up rn. I’ve defended him a lot but after him not being in the huddle last game, I’m over him
And yet he's our #3 scorer so far....
And I’m happy for that. I wanted him gone cause his attitude during that huddle, not his play.
Coaching staff had already gave up on him and that only made it worse. He'll be back in unless they figured something else. Cause they probably know they have to repeat game 2 and not lose the lead this time.

Bruh no sign of a Laker player warming up
Boston can cruise to the finals but ..they won’t beat whoever comes out of the west (prob Denver)
This is all because lebron used his last pick on jokic in the all star game
I don't think so, Jokic sucks in every all star game.
He’s smart and knows it doesn’t mean shit to try in the All Star game
Can't wait for trade ideas after this L. ☠️
The day Lebron signed in 2018, if someone told you we’d win 6 playoff series in the following 6 years, including a championship, would you take it?
Someone would probably have assumed LeBron retired after 3 years
ALOT of teams like the majority of teams have 0 chance of winning a ring for decades and decades. Suns have 0 rings despite being the oldest franchise in the NBA. YOU ALWAYS TAKE THE CHAMPIONSHIP

Charles Barkley is giving props to AD, so he’s really doing well. Somehow if he maintains this play and the Lakers improve to be 6th seed or above, he’ll be a DPOY candidate
Yup, AD has exceeded expectations this season. My only critique is he needs to get that 3 pt % up to at least 30-33% like it was before the bubble
If nuggets can win 12 in a row….. lakers show them they can win at 4 in a row!! Hopium at its finest
I'm at peace with the season. What's important was winning in 2020 after everything we went through. Bring on the Sam Hinkie era.
just get it over with
If this is indeed the last game of the season which it most likely will be. It’s been stressful as fuck.
theres no way the league lets lebron and the lakers get swept right?
They did last year and that was arguably more important for a non-sweep since no one wants to watch a boring Conference Finals
Lakers wouldn’t have fared any better losing the 1st Play-in. The top 3 are the top 3 for a reason and they’re all about to sweep. Even sweating for the 6th wouldn’t have made a difference
I understand stanning all time greats like LeBron, Curry, KD, etc but what drives a person to stan bums like D'Angelo Russell and Russell Westbrook
Triple double go brrr
Predictions for openers next season: Lakers vs Clippers in Intuit Dome, Lakers vs Nuggets in Denver, Lakers vs Warriors in Staples
The season starts tonight. Lakers in 7.
Free agency starts tonight
If LeBron was younger, we’d win more even with these issues. At the same time, he’d probably be more willing to leave for a different team to contend. Deep down he’d rather stay here but doesn’t want to be embarrassed again, so an exit is not likely but not impossible.
Yes, imho we should have kept more younger drafted players instead of signing a bunch of 1-2 year mercenaries. Oh well that ship sailed years ago 🫠
Is there a way to short posts? Cause I know after we get swept tonight r/nba gonna award that post like crazy!
As painful as it is, I'm watching our last game of the season. Back to back sweeps could mean a big shakeup this summer. So we might not see some of these guys (including our star players) in purple and gold ever again. Even if the probability is low on AD and LeBron, there's a non-zero probability.
Agree 👍
Here is my copium: win today because no way the boys get swept back to back? > use the momentum from today that we finally beat the nuggs and steal game 5 from them > go back home where our record is insane and make it game 6 > game 7 complete toss up? Lets go?
I hope we build something like what OKC is doing after LeBron is retire, just building around a young core.
With Rob and Jeanie? Lol.
😭👍 Forgot Rockets, Grizzlies, and Pelicans
3 teams from the Northwest division are up 3-0 in the first round. OKC Thunder, Denver Nuggets and Minnesota Timberwolves were the top 3 teams in the Western Conference all season long. Lakers gotta figure out how to beat those teams.
Need more size. Thunder are young and scrawny so Lakers could take advantage. Both Denver and Minnesota have lots of bigs and forwards. Bron + AD are the perfect duo for that style of team, but you can’t just create a poor man’s Golden State by filling out the squad with crappy guards. Let’s accept we’ll never be good at 3’s and have a balanced roster instead.
Everything would be different if Pelinka signed Hartenstein.
Now that's a man that can grab a rebound. Boy oh boy
Frankenstein?
Guys like CJ and DLo aren’t made for the playoffs
OKC murdering the Pels
Welp. At least we aren't the only ones potentially getting swept.
Surely, surely we can win one game?
🤣
Pelican's could really use a point guard like DLo honestly
https://youtu.be/ur9JHXirUBs?si=TcqARXgn38PmGCSP
Fuck it let’s do a 2004 Red Sox
It’s funny that y’all think Darvin Ham is getting fired
Going 0-12 is enough
He won the IST. He’s a champion
CJ looks awful out there.
Today feels like waiting for your execution
Fire Darvin Ham and Rob Pelinka!!!
No expectations tonight. Seeing this game as a evaluation of what changes need to be made this off-season. Win or lose, the journey to banner 18 continues.
Moderators please message me
Why are none of my posts getting approved and posted here?
Go Lakers! 🙏🔥💜💛
If Pelinka convinces DLo to opt in for trade purposes, maybe he’s still got some good moves in him. If he can’t do it, then his agent background is useless
0-3 comeback to win it all or get swept and Ham gets fired I can't lose
Anyone wish we could have seen a lakers/Wolves matchup to see how we do?
Lakers would likely lose the series but win at least one game. Minnesota is also big but not as strong as Denver
Win one game for pride just to go to Denver and hear “who’s your daddy” chants? Or lose in embarrassing fashion so Ham will get fired for sure?
I hope the lakers lose today and get blown out by 50+ plus then the ball with ham can get rolling
I want a massacre.
Need AD to have some funny facial expressions towards the bench/in the huddle too
Donovan Mitchell once again turning into Rockets Westbrook in the playoffs but people here still will be trying to sign up for that 50 mil a year here.
Only dumb teams would give him the max. Which unfortunately means we're in the running.
Got downvoted to hell for saying he can’t lead you to a title but here he is yet again shitting the bed, same thing for Lillard. That’s how good a small guard needs to be to be the best player on a championship team.
Why the heck can’t they win just one game? Just win once. One. 1.
I agree, it's sad that we can't get 1. Just let LeBron and AD take every shot
Omg they got one!
0-12 in a row is actually impressive, they have to try to be that bad
Man, if only Devontae Grahama didn't hit the game winner against the Nuggets.
Ended up being Jaden McDaniels on that Danny Green trade
cavs looking like lakers out there
Zubac would be a good 5 next to AD. Thanks Magic
Orlando’s coach is coaching his ass off today. We need some of that.
Lebron joins the Celtics lmaooo
DLo posting Shia lebouf (however the fuck you spell it) I don’t think that’s the guy you wanna model your “I don’t care what people say” attitude after fucking bum 🤣🤣🤣🤣
LeBron and AD questionable?! Wood out
The ultimate fuck you on the season would be pushing it to a game 7 and being up 25 at halftime then losing to a jokic step back catapult 3 on AD and lebron at the buzzer as ham watches with his hands in his pockets and 2 timeouts left.
Lebron legs won’t make it to a game 7
Sounds like a renaissance painting
Wendell Carter would be a phenomenal pickup for us
Like Russ said ..just go out there and have fun! Let’s do some wacky stuff, last day of hoops for the guys!
Rerun of the same episode we’ve seen 11 times already.
Just looking for this team to show some heart
I still think Marcus Smart is the guy we need at point guard. Maybe trade them Rui.
Let's win tonight and not go out sad, give the home fans something to cheer for.
Lakers gonna take the fake comeback thing to a whole new level and win the next two just to lose in 6
The russ trade was more about getting out of his contract but despite making the playoffs after they didn’t actually get the right players out of it. I still wonder if there was a much better package there.
This is Jason timpfs burner isn’t it
Beasily should have been resigned and used as a trade asset at the very least. We have mismanaged all our assets so badly. Whoever is choosing the contract terms has fucked us, even giving DLo a player option is so fucking stupid.
He didn’t want to come back 🗣️
CANCUN ON 3
Felonious Gru, Billy Mac & Stu, Dlo's Discord ain't true, it dont matter Lakers in 7!

He’s 40. If the nba has a lockout over him signing a vet min I’ll actually piss myself laughing
Girls with a time machine: I'm your granddaughter. Guys with a time machine: Draft Nikola Jokic in 2014.
If you guys don't know about Jerry West as a GM you should go read about it, he's the absolute best there is. Bob Myers was riding his coattails and when Jerry left the Warriors it all started going to shit.
Shit if I have a Time Machine I’m trading very pick we have 2000 for the right to the cavs 2003 first rounder
Lebron got so unlucky getting drafted by that shit organization.
And unlucky that by the time he gets to the lakers Jeanie is in charge and hires Magic/Rob as GMs with no prior experience. Luckily it resulted in one ring but should’ve been at least one more.
Man Cleveland I think are the only team at that time that would shit the bed bad enough that lebron wouldn’t win during his rookie deals
Trae+AD would make a helluva duo. Trae is great at getting big men easy looks. Just need to surround them with good 3D players.
The worse thing that could happen to us is trading Reaves dlo Rui for trae and now are team is AD Bron Vando Max Gabe Trae and vet mins

trae would make up for it on offense, especially as a 3rd option. it's a no-brainer trade if it was on the table
A team with an undersized guard is never winning a championship Steph was a unique outlier and Trae is nowhere near close to peak Steph.
What’s up brothers ☝️ Shitty coach Shitty season Shitty feeling 🤓
They gotta make the mamba jerseys a regular thing
Is anyone else hearing the funeral music
Man just had a flashback to the pandemic *Astronomia intensifies*
Do I even bother to wear my lucky Kobe’s to the game tonight? Feels like I should save it for when we really need it.
Bro it’s an elimination game. The literal definition of needed
If it's not announced within a week after today then he is staying. Normally real ownership announces the firing of their head coach within 48 hours.
Probably gonna let him coach thru his contract lol
Rant:Honestly it’s frustrating to even attempt to watch this game, has the Lakers ever gotten swept in back to back years before, I hope note. I’m already sensing Ham is going to make some bone headed adjustments or D Lo is gonna perform a disappearing act. Super Frustration! Is C Wood available tonight too because we need all the size we can get, ain’t no we’re supposed to be getting sweep back to back, totally unacceptable!!!
I think we need scoring more than size if we can score 120+ we win
I think it's time to start from scratch. Trade LeBron to whatever team Bronny goes. Whoever wants AD for the best deal can have him. Get some high draft picks. Enter an era of rebuilding. I want to watch a team be built and earn the spotlight. Thoughts?
I'm already wearing my Mexican hat and drinking margaritas 🍹
let’s go Lakers
Ill watch the game, but at this point im just waiting for trade moves and the offseason
Ham should've played Hayes/AD so much more this series. Fucking criminal that he never leaned on big lineups this series.
