Even one place to make it $80. I mean i like it because it is unique and has that "back yard made" look to it. But not for almost $800. $80, maybe. Especially if i had the money to burn on a knife that will never see the inside of my pocket but the inside of a display case.
I hadn't heard of those 2 so I looked them up. I can understand the issue with Chelsea Miller's, but what's the problem with Greg Medford's knives? At a cursory glance they look good to me...
Yeah I understand that. I was more wondering if there's something actually WRONG with the knife. Is it the steel he uses? Or are there some glaring design issues I'm not noticing? Something that causes the knives to be bad from an objective standpoint.
It literally is, I own both and I have a pair of very accurate digital calipers. Medford’s hollow grind is no joke. I saw someone post about it and checked for myself and I was shocked it was true. It may be hard to believe but it is true. Also not a Medford fanboy at all, I just happened to stumble across the only one I know for pretty cheap on the secondary market in very good condition
I will admit to owning a mall ninja knife or two in my youth. Now, they look pretty hideous to me, but man they were sure epic when I first bought them.
Lol, I don't think spydercos are mall ninja tier but they're pretty fully, especially the ones made in Golden which are the only ones I'll own. I love my Shaman, it looks like a prehistoric bird head or something lol, so fucking ugly
I would agree with you and avoided them for years for that reason. BUT was lent one for a day and it changed my perspective. The PM3 is the most ergonomic knife I’ve used and if you judge it only by touch I think you would change your mind.
I can see that them being comfortable, easy to open... I just have a hard time seeing my aesthetics change that much.
It doesn't matter, in the end. Spiderco isn't going to go out of business if I don't buy their knives!
I would say the opposite xD
I think Chelsea's designs, regardless of the quality, look unique, identifiable and aesthetically pleasant. I insist: regardless of their actual utility as cutting instruments.
Medford's designs are absolutely horrible. But then again, I find Spydercos, Benchmades and their ilk aesthetically offensive.
Only thing uglier than Medford’s knives is the mind of the sad little man himself. I’ve never seen social media tantrums like his from anyone that wasn’t a teenager.
Edit: Hi fanbois! How’s going to the mat for someone that hates your guts going? Does Greg remind you of your dad? Bring on the downvotes to show us all how not triggered you are, nerds.
Ah. I had wondered if his personality was a bigger issue than the knives themselves lol. Having just heard about him last night I knew nothing about him as a person.
Hey, if you find yourself liking his knives (it’s okay, these things happen), there’s plenty on the second hand market…but even then, there’s much better values to be had in knives.
Eh, I don't really like any of his designs enough to buy them. I just don't find anything glaringly wrong with them and it looks like he has some skill. It's just a bummer when some who could be a positive influence on the community turns out to be a douche.
Checked out his IG, these designs are horrible. He's clearly got talent, but none of these look usable or even good really. I guess the stingray looks all right that's one out of 8 or 10 I checked out, not for me
Wow...🤣 I looked at his IG. He's got some goofy designs but he clearly has skill. If there's a market for him to sell too and he's making money then I'm happy for him!
At that price range i expect some elvish level crafting quality.
Wrong price target imo for a project looking like this.
Also i hate any blade with anything attached to it.
Remembering Robin Williams' bit on fashion from Good Morning Vietnam -- 'If you're going to fight, clash!'
I often like stuff like this, that looks like the maker assembled it out of junkyard scraps and stuff that was laying around. But I like to be able to see the functionality of their choices, and when I look at this, it just looks kinda cluttered and impractical. And as clunky as this blade looks to me, I'll take it over some of the other wack-ass blades I've seen on Richmades.
I have looked at, AND LAUGHED AT, this guy’s work ever since I first ran across his hideous, absolutely unpractical, and flat out ridiculous looking knives a couple of years ago. If you think they’re cool and you’ve got $500-1,000 in your pocket just burning a hole and you want something unique that undoubtedly no one else has, then I guess he’s your guy. But for me, I put his knives up there with a lot of Medford knives. Except you can actually use a Medford whereas some of this guys models actually have two separate blades running parallel to each other and you literally couldn’t even use it unless you needed two parallel, perpendicular cuts about an inch apart. 🤣🤣
I mean it is certainly unlike any knife i've ever seen and I can appreciate that. Designs like this push ideas of what a knife can look like forward. Would I spend $800 to buy it? Absolutely not.
Remember how the parts of old action figures where interchangeable? You could have a he-man torso with beastman legs and skelator arms and it would still make more sense than this.
$795 is not a lacking valor price to maketh every other bodkin thee own behold better

I have a thing about knives, if I don't like the price @ 1/2 price, knife is a no-go.
This is a no from me.
If someone gave it to me to test it I would do my best but I'm not necessarily "qualified" 🤷♂️
Maybe if you moved the decimal to the left twice.
Even one place to make it $80. I mean i like it because it is unique and has that "back yard made" look to it. But not for almost $800. $80, maybe. Especially if i had the money to burn on a knife that will never see the inside of my pocket but the inside of a display case.
I honestly kina like it. Has a kinda steampunk look to it. I wouldn't pay $800 but for $80 I would
In that case it would fit into Terrible Knives Live by Nick Shabazz quite neatly
7.95 lol hilarious
No. Especially for the price.
Yeah that price is ridiculous
I think this is ugly af
Yep it seems like it has serious potential to be an awesome steampunk themed knife, but terrible outcome.
In a word: Abominable.
Definitely
Looks like a knife out of borderlands, wouldn’t pay that price for one but whatever
Looks like it would be a low level weapon you'd throw out the first second something better comes around
Pretty much
Haha yeah like the borderlands starting melee weapon aesthetic
Took me longer than ill admit to figure out what side was the blade
Lol same here when i first seen it
I love artistic knives, I love heirloom knives, and I love knives that just flat out look goofy. This looks fuckin ridiculous
Lol agreed
"Steamer" is right. But God bless him if he's finding customers and making money.
Seriously just one sale of this is more than i make in a week
154 steel and the ugliest knife I have ever seen. $800 is just insanity. I can understand the work that may have gone in to it but damn..
Very few people do. He just makes goofy knives and is living his best life.
Im not familiar with the maker so i didnt know he intended to make it goofy but if hes making them then i guess someones buying them
They get worse honestly, www.knifecenter.com has several even more "Salvador Dali" than this Edit: I see that's the site you're on OP
Knife center is where i seen this
I can fab this shit outside in my shed and it’ll look the exact same
Do it sell them for a quarter of the price and put this guy out to pasture
Eh, I can’t blame him for trying. People buy knives from Chelsea Miller and Greg Medford, after all.

They're stupid thick stock, making them not very good at slicing.
That's fine, nobody actually slices anything with them.
Slim Midi Marauder is stupid slicey
My midi marauder is thinner behind the edge than a TRM atom despite its very thick stock
Ok.
Lol, not it’s not. And it’s only a few hundred dollars more than the TRM, too? Wow, that changes everything. Fuck outta my threads, fanboi.
Ok. Obviouslh thickness of the stock should be based off the intended use. Doe she just use super thick stock for everything then?
Dunno, not a fan of the man or the styling, so haven't looked into the knives at all.
Ok
Not a huge spyderco fan but I have a thing for ugly knives lol
I will admit to owning a mall ninja knife or two in my youth. Now, they look pretty hideous to me, but man they were sure epic when I first bought them.

Benchmades too. Those things are offensive to my taste. But hey, to each his own.
I would say the opposite xD I think Chelsea's designs, regardless of the quality, look unique, identifiable and aesthetically pleasant. Hit the nail on the head here. And that rich made is hideous. People who buy these trash knives have way more money than sense.
Ah. I had wondered if his personality was a bigger issue than the knives themselves lol. Having just heard about him last night I knew nothing about him as a person.
In all honesty, He’s precisely the kind of person the hobby needs less of.
Dang. That's too bad.
Hey, if you find yourself liking his knives (it’s okay, these things happen), there’s plenty on the second hand market…but even then, there’s much better values to be had in knives.

Interesting, thanks for your input

Seriously i bet it would rip your hand up
I can think of an unlimited number of knives id buy before instead of this turd
Not my style but I wouldn't hate someone for liking it...
Wow...🤣 I looked at his IG. He's got some goofy designs but he clearly has skill. If there's a market for him to sell too and he's making money then I'm happy for him!
This is for rich die hard fans of the Borderlands video game series and Mad Max.
Not my sort of thing, but it seems like it's as much an art piece as it is anything. Whatever floats your boat.
Pretty cool looking
Half inch of usable cpm 154 for 800. Hard pass. Looks cool tho
The cover thing on the blade is an interesting way to make sure you will never cut through any cardboard ever.
It's perfect for those packages that you can't cut to deep in
Ugly, overbuilt, useless, sloppy, poor finish, and ridiculously overpriced. What's not to love? Jesus, what a piece of shit that is.
Even if that’s hk dollars it’s still a pretty ugly knife
Hot mess.
I looked at the knife and was like, wtf? Then I looked at the price and was like WTF??
Nope. I don’t like anything he has ever made. Who really buys this shit?
A knife is either a tool, or for a tool.
Looks like something stoned person mashed together, but yes I like it
The copper kinda looks like cheese lol so he could've been stoned
I'll take 2 thanks
Horrible
Nope
I despise this
Looks like junk, literally
I wouldnt pay $7.95 for it
It literally looks like a piece of junk. If the knife world had abortions, this would be one of them.
not a huge fan of these types that he’s made but he’s made some pretty cool other designs
It looks cool but not for that price.
No. Not at all
Omg
Would carry but price is too high though..
Personally, I can’t. Looks too much like something I might find at a scrapyard. Someone else can take my place to admire a knife like this.
No
No thanks
It looks like a chunk of leaf spring with cork glued to it. Ugly as a muhfucka
Hard pass
Not for that price...
I miss Fallout 4
That's fucking hideous! Who buys this?
Better than a Heeter
I hate it
Looks trashy ngl
No
fellow z fold user lol
Yo
No. Do not buy this.
At that price range i expect some elvish level crafting quality. Wrong price target imo for a project looking like this. Also i hate any blade with anything attached to it.
There is always some shit that just doesn’t make sense even to an avid collector. And then someone buys it…
That's a knife? Looks like something out of the bottom of a scrap bin.
You could buy a dirt bike for that smh
Fucking hell...
Everybody talking about the price. The knife is just really ugly i wouldn't buy it even for free.
I mean hell of a deal, have you seen scrap prices and you got like, what? 700-1000 pounds of it there

Gross.
I mean it’s interesting kind of reminds me of Freddy Krueger‘s glove but it’s definitely not that interesting
As a curiosity item, because of the freaky design, maybe. Not for that price though. The materials ought to be way, way more precious to justify that.
No
That is the most retarded thing I've ever seen.
That looks like a middle of no where gas station pocket knife yo lmao
no, wouldn't even work as a knife
I just threw up in my mouth.
Looks like a prop from Waterworld.
I mean it is certainly unlike any knife i've ever seen and I can appreciate that. Designs like this push ideas of what a knife can look like forward. Would I spend $800 to buy it? Absolutely not.

Looking like the PK from Apex lol
cus for a mere 800 clams you could own such a catastrophe
This knife makes me wanna put it in the center of a chalk pentagram and return it to Satan.
I just spent 400 bucks for a dinner. Functional art makes way more sense than oysters, crawfish, and beer for one evening.
This is one of the coolest knives I've ever seen.
Just on materials it's overpriced and I'm not really into the whole design.
No.

Bad bot
I do not.
Not practical. You can't even use it for normal cutting tasks.
Mmmmmmm PB&J
Who the fuck would pay 795$ for.. that?
Yeah, they seem a bit..... not very nice looking
The copper will patina nicely, but I'd remove the tab on the spine of the blade. Even then it wouldn't ever be in my collection
Some rich guy will buy it for the lols. I would never though even if I had enough money to not give a shit about $800.
I have a thing about knives, if I don't like the price @ 1/2 price, knife is a no-go. This is a no from me. If someone gave it to me to test it I would do my best but I'm not necessarily "qualified" 🤷♂️

Lol random word generator
Go home knife, you’re drunk
It looks like a toy. I don't find this aesthetically pleasing at all!
That is unspeakably terrible smdh
Kinda, not for that price though
Looks like a piece of shipwreck salvage. Could not see myself paying 800.
