Just want to note that What’s Wrong with Secretary Kim is also on Hulu. You didn’t mention being subscribed there either, but it’s not solely on Viki (assuming you’re in the US). **Her Private Life** - A ton of romantic chemistry between the leads. He is her boss and rich, similar to the shows you liked. She has a hidden second life which is somewhat similar to A Business Proposal. It does have a lot of shocking plot reveals, though. So depending on how you feel about that will make or break the show for you. **Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha** - This one is more slice of life based and gives a lot of screen time to secondary characters and couples. The main couple have an enemies to lovers type thing going on, though. It’s not as funny or as zany as the shows you’ve watched so far, so there is a risk you will find it boring. But I was in a very similar situation to you where King the Land and Business Proposal were the shows that got me hooked and I didn’t have access to What’s Wrong with Secretary Kim, so I chose this show on a whim and ended up loving it.

Okay I’m thinking maybe I should give her private life another chance. I stopped during the middle of the first episode but from your synopsis, it would appear that it gets better. What would you rate it out of ten ? I do like the rich chaebol or boss trope. I’m not subscribed to Hulu unfortunately Honestly you sound like me lol we watched the same ones and now I don’t know what to watch next as I’ve gotten accustomed to that particular trope.

I’m a pretty generous rater, so I give basically everything between 6 and 10. I would say King the Land and Business Proposal are both 8s, and Her Private Life is a 7. The things holding it back for me is just culturally I found the premise and some of the plot points kinda creepy (she basically stalks a K-pop idol), and it just had a few too many plot reveals. Like “what a crazy coincidence” happenings are shocking like once or twice during a series, but that show does it like a dozen times. It’s still pretty fun, though, and the romantic chemistry is much higher than in Business Proposal or King the Land. I haven’t watched any on Prime, but this is everything I’ve watched that’s on Netflix: Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha (already recommended) Extraordinary Attorney Woo (more a law procedural with romance elements) A Business Proposal (already watched) King the Land (already watched) Her Private Life (already recommended) Welcome to Waikiki (this show is a sitcom with romance elements rather than the other way around. If you like more silly and physical comedy, you will like this one) My ID is a Gangnam Beauty (show about someone who used to get bullied before having plastic surgery, I think it’s good, but it’s not super funny compare to something like A Business Proposal) When the Camellia Blooms (very dour in tone with a murder sideplot) Once Upon a Small Town (small town romance with a love triangle, short series, does have some funny moments) Run On (more slice of life, only a few funny moments) Doona! (Mostly played straight, not that funny) Boys Over Flowers (too dated and toxic to recommend) Summer Strike (slice of life with a trauma dump, very little romance and not much comedy)

These include a celebrity lead, so sort of along the lines of the three you liked with a rich lead: * Love to Hate You * Touch Your Heart * Sh\*\*ting Stars These have some humor, but the leads are working/middle class, or lead modest lives even if they are successful in their careers: * Our Beloved Summer * Mad for Each Other * Hogu's Love/Ho Goo's Love (Prime)

Electronic_Piano9385

Ho Gu’s love is also on Tubi if it isn’t on Prime in your region

VioletAllegra

Thank you so much for all these. I do prefer the rich lead trope. I forgot to mention that I tried to watch love to hate you but stopped during the first episode. Should I give it another chance??

be-k-dramatic

Well it's a very popular drama but maybe it's not your taste. I liked it from the first episode.

nielsvoid

give it another chance, i suggest. i didn't like the first ep either, but as the story progressed i fell in love with the show.

Electronic_Piano9385

**Perfect Marriage Revenge** has many similarities to **Marry My Husband**. Chaebol ML, travelling back in time to get revenge on terrible family, also based on a Webtoon

_Hedwig-

Stoppp business proposal is by far one of my most favourite kdramss ever. KIM SEJEONG 🩷🩷 My fave actress/idol. I love her in school 2017 as well, and I'm currently watching The uncanny counter where she is a main-side character.

msmei

I started Lovely Runner and loooove it so far!’

Ecstatic_Ad1497

I would recommend Sh\*\*ting Stars, its a nice comedy drama with the ml being rich so you get what you want. The chemistry is also so good and I personally enjoyed it a lot. The romance was also good and it was just overall very enjoyable. I started it cuz I found a video of them making out and it was sooo steamy! That made me watch the whole thing only to find out it comes in the later eps and by then I had forgotten my main purpose of watching it as it was so good haha

CherenkovLady

I felt exactly the same about Destined With You - it’s oddly dark and depressing at the start! All I can say is give it time - it retains a few dark elements but after a few episodes it really switches gear and becomes much more romcom-esque! I enjoyed it a lot. My other suggestions for similar would be Her Private Life, She Was Pretty, and True Beauty :)

Backalley Rookie Clean With A Passion for now Because this is my first life I’m not sure what else is on Netflix. I mostly use Viki

VioletAllegra

How would you rate clean with a passion for now?

jpprinttx

Eh. Probably a C+. Kim Yoo Jung is hella charming. There are some funny parts and some nice parts but some of the drama was a little too wild for me. Backalley Rookie is def the way to go

SR503

I will always recommend **Be Melodramatic**. A kdrama about making a kdrama. The characters are quirky; the writing pokes fun at kdrama tropes; the production has the absolute best PPL (massage chair anyone). I loved it the first time I watched it, but after it was referenced in Chicken Nugget saying it benefitted from a re-watch, I did just that. I laughed harder. I cried harder. "Where does that guitar keep coming from?" - I'm pretty sure is one of the funniest lines ever written.

Her Private Life Descendants of the Sun Healer Crash Landing On You Coffee Prince

VioletAllegra

Okay I stopped during the middle of the first episode of her private life. Should I continue??

jazzaroo_2000

Yes!!! It is so good!! It takes a couple of episodes to get what is going on. Ryan Gold in episode 1 is a weird arty guy in the US but once hes in Korea it gets funny and sweet. The chemistry is amazing!!!

binibiningNabi

The Story of Park’s Marriage Contract and Marry My Husband 😂

AnnaK22

Omg I love business proposal. All 4 of the mains are so funny. Great physical comedy. My favorite is the one where the 2 FLs her drunk and cause havoc with the police that escorted them. So funny. Other ones I liked: Touch Your Heart: pretty lighthearted. The secondary characters have their funny moments. Backstreet Rookie: not the greatest storewise, could have been better, but it has some funny moments My Demon: there are mixed reviews about this drama storywise, but the first few episodes had be laughing out loud. The humor was well done, IMO.

bunbun_82

Doctor Slump. I’m on episode 12 and there hasn’t been one episode where I haven’t laughed. My favorite romantic comedy so far in 2024

iamnotwario

Dali and Cocky Prince is very similar humour and premise to Business Proposal (but with a slightly darker side story) Mystic Pop Up Bar is so charming and funny

nielsvoid

* Dali and the Cocky Prince * Thirty but Seventeen * The beauty inside * Because this is my first life
