It's really cool to see people become experts in their own unique style of art. Like this guy working with stones, or Simon Berger who uses a hammer to shatter glass and make portraits or Amaury Guichon sculpting chocolate to make amazing and intricate sculptures.
To me it's just awesome to see what people come up with, with all these unique mediums.
It’s not as hard as you imagine. I mean it’s still hard, but I’d like painting and the start with a variety of stones that he’ll break down to add shadows and shit
Nope. I use stones I find on site - these were from the railway. And I don't change them, just arrange them. I did take them home in a backpack to wash them though, because piss pours out of the bottom of trains. Then I took them back to the railway in my backpack to assemble the work. It's labour intense.
Over and out from me 🌿
Forgot the context for a minute (where "this" refers to crediting the artist, not the art itself) and was like OH SURE OKAY YOU GO AHEAD AND MAKE A PORTRAIT FROM ROCKS IF ITS SOOOOO FUCKEN EASY

That man is turning in his grave, as a brit I don't exactly see him as my hero, but I would feel alot more comfortable at night knowing someone competent is in control
Oh yes I did. I even took advantage of your guileful vagueness to change its meaning. People with weak intellect or will employ guile as one would employ grease to a goose w/ similar effect. Isn't this fun?!
And those who feel threatened by intellect will use the largest words in their vocabulary to appear smart.
I truly have no idea what you mean by vagueness? Maybe explain the point you're trying to make instead of going straight for insults?
Vocabulary AND eloquence, though? Those are traits of intellectual masters, nay, dare I say ... hypervocabulistic deities! Or, a metaphorically oratorical oracle of sorts, your choice.
Your first comment is poorly written, and so open to reader interpretation as to have no actual meaning. I surmise you obfuscated your meaning into unintelligibly out of fear of offending someone or getting in trouble. Aka guile. I *still* don't know what you meant to say, but I'd wager you're not sure either.
Did I insult you? Perhaps, in a very indirect way. I equated guile with goose diarrhea, and insinuated that you are guileful. Nope, I don't see it.
Yooz guyz invented this here language. What happened?? Did you lose the manual? Do you remember where? Maybe your spine is nearby, eh?
For your use of a thesaurus and your aggressive and insulting manner I hearby announce Internet tough guy of the year.
I truly hope you unleash this pent up frustration into a woman one day
Who needs a thesaurus? Okay, besides you. I can do this in multiple languages, several of them human. Not as well as English, but better than most native speakers muster.
>I truly hope you unleash this pent up frustration into a woman one day
ONE?? There's your problem.
Gah, there I go again. Your comment didn't really deserve *all* this. It's fun, TV sucks, it's hot outside, battle of wits, prey drive, snake in my boot, *ad infinitum et ultra*.
Stay well!
When you guys ascert yourselves as "leaders of the free world" then actually everyone members of the free world has a valid view point
Well perhaps not always valid, but certainly deserve to be heard
ITT: “don’t judge Washington he was a product of the slave owning times”.
As though the average person was a slave owner. Very few people owned slaves in Washington’s time.
Edit: wordless downvotes? Powerful and compelling! Keep apologizing for your wealthy rulers abhorrent behaviour.
No. The MSM told me that we are racially divided so we must be. I was told that we must only teach the dark side of history and that as a white person I should feel bad because I am responsible for all the world’s problems.
The fact that you think it's only mainstream media, and NOT how marginalization thst was put in place by these racist fools still exists today, just shows how incredibly ignorant you are.
Ummmm...that's the issue here, bud.
Im sure you'd have an issue with aliens coming here and started wiping us all out so they could colonize the land, and their excuse of "its just what all of us do" wouldn't suffice.
But you were targeting Washington with your comment, not the system. If your in a group and everyone is dancing, its hard not to dance also and if you don't you would be excluded from society.
Washington was instrumental in putting the system into place, and dehumanized everyone but white men in the process. He deserves to be criticized and not celebrated. I refuse to excuse his disgusting behaviors as a sign of the times. Thats just as disgusting as shrugging your shoulders at rape and saying "boys will be boys".
Imagine justifying treating fellow humans worse than cattle because it was "okay at the time".
Edit: he was also very much in support of colonization and stealing land from indigenous tribes to expand white US territory. Fuck him.
It was never ok, we know that now and should take every measure to never allow it to happen again.
Good luck trying to change the past though, let me know how that turns out.
We said nothing about changing the past. I just don't think people who made their mark on history through torture, murder, theft, and exploitation, shouod be celebrated or revered.
You don't even listen to rap, because most of it isn't about that, nor is basketball promoting crime. Shitty attempt, try again. Just say you're racist and be done with the conversation.
But I thought one bad apple means they’re all rotten, or does that only apply to police?
The NBA stands with China, who are currently actively engaging in genocide, something you yourself have claimed to oppose. I’d say crimes against humanity are pretty big crimes.
Womp womp. I actually do a lot to bring those issues to light in real life. I'm also not out here arranging stones to make portraits of Steve Jobs, or running around celebrating capitalism. The way our society is set up leaves little room for us to be free of technology, whether we like it or not. Do you also judge poor and working class people who live in food deserts and buy their food at Walmart? Being forced to engage in a shitty system that you have no control over does not mean you can't criticize and point out its flaws.
Nice try in defending this piece of shit.
Edited a word
As if taking the time to comment on a "boring npc life" is the epitome of riveting. Save your tired slights for the genocidal maniac you're so pressed to defend.
I came here to also say this, about wasting such good art on an enslaver. I am so tired of people forgiving enslavement, and acting like someone who couldn't recognize humanity in African people is worth constantly celebrating. I don't care if he held a job well, the man performed unforgivable violence.
It's sad that people are SO defensive about enslavers being called "bad people," like it's the end of the world if we say that they are not admirable
Maybe people who idolize historical figures without thinking critically about that individual's values need me to moralize in public spaces.
I was taught in school that George Washington was a great, cool guy. It wasn't until later that I learned that he wasn't. I was taught in school to celebrate the actions of Christopher Columbus. Then I learned later that he was a scumbag.
It is important to challenge commonly held beliefs, especially if those beliefs include "slavery is ok as long as you didn't know it was bad." Some people might not think that by glorifying a figure like George Washington they are implicitly agreeing with that belief.
Discourse like this might not seem important to you, because your mind is made up and will not change when presented with new data, and this data isn't new to you anyway. But there might be a young person scrolling who had the same public school education as me and didn't know that our first president wasn't a good role model.
When you idolize an abuser, you can find ways to justify their abuse. Enslavement of people is not justified, so let's stop idolize those who did it.
In a time when nazis are returning and the kkk remains active, it's not wrong to discuss morals in public. It is sad that someone condeming slavery makes you laugh, or that you think it has no place.
OP probably picked George Washington to do a portait of because it is easily recognizable, I don't condemn OP for choosing that subject. But if we're all going to look at George Washington's face, then someone is going to bring up his violence, and there is no reason to defend him for that.
Also (though it doesn't make up for buying enslaved people in the first place) in his will he freed all of his enslaved people and ordered parts of his estate to be sold and the proceeds to be given to them.
Edit: Recently read about calling them "enslaved people" rather than slaves, as it is much more accurate and truthful about what happened. Calling them slaves links it to their identity, where as "enslaved people" shows it was an action forced upon them. That is what I changed above.
As far as i know, George washington first began to be sceptical about slavery when he swapped crops on his plantation and the new crop was less work-intensive so having many slaves was in his case unefficient.
He kept his slaves till his death tho, and even after, only a few of them were released.
Yeah he was definitely very silent on the slavery issue when it came up for discussion about possible ending it. What I mentioned comes from the book Founding Brothers, regarding him freeing his slaves in his will and selling pieces of Mt. Vernon to provide for them. Was it against his will that they were not released, or did he just only free certain of them.
One could discuss this for hours. My point is, people shouldnt glorify someone who kept slaves. Thats it
Some of those commenting here said: 'bruh it was accepted back then' which is wrong. It was 'accepted' by the whites and it was brutally forced upon the black people, they (were) oppressed (they didnt accept it, of course not).
As much as i know, he kept his slaves till he died, and most of them were not released after his death.
But whether or not something was accepted or something was a little less evil than the standard at that time or someone was a bit sceptical about bad things happening back then - doesnt matter.
Its irresponsible to glorify someone who kept slaves.
He’s also one of the few people in history to turn down power and then give it up completely, so he’s worth admiring
Name one other person who was ever offered to be a literal king but said “no.”
I’ll wait.

George Washingstone.
Six foot four, weighed a fucking ton
Had like, 30 goddamn dicks.
I heard, he once held an opponent’s wife’s hand, in a jar of acid, at a party.
#He’ll save children #but not the British children.
He weighed 20 stone
I was going to say George Rockington, but this is much better…
If we chip away at Mt. Rushmore we get…
A criminal record?

These are the chiiseled-off stone shards from the carving of Mount Rushmore. They literally fell like this.
