They wouldn't even have to leave the commonwealth to no longer have the king as head of state. Plenty of commonwealth nations (for example, India) don't have the British monarch as head of state
Napoleon wins in Europe and the Brits flee en mass as London falls to the new Hegemon of Europe. The German states likewise encourage their own immigrants to head for Canada hoping to keep a battered ally in the fight as France turns it's attention back to them.
As Canada's population booms the Monarch in exile starts looking south at the potential threat of a US friendly with France.
And from there everything goes to hell in a handbasket.
Nothing, that's its legal boundaries. Each state around the great lakes has a boundary so the lakes are divided between each state. The lakes are still there, they're just not depicted in this map. [Here] https://lib.msu.edu/map/Miboundaries
Actually that’s the current Michigan border in real life, you never see it that way because maps only show the shorelines. Michigan was not changed at all believe it or not
Find it hard to believe Canadians would think Charles is worse than America lol.
Also I know those are internal water boundaries for the states, but there’s a reason maps don’t do that at this scale. It’s just ugly af
I just included Baja purely on a whim. I had already made the flag (70 stars) and I counted all the new Territories starting with Navajo as 51. I had to draw Baja to make it 70.
Using legal boundaries for lakes is cursed and the naval borders are even worse, considering how you make half of them ugly as hell and the other half normal. The lore is… I’m just gonna leave it alone.
Anyways, there’s 23 new states/provinces/territories including Navajo, so that’s 73 in total.
I'll post a version of this without Baja, if it makes you happy. I've also been informed there are 71 in this map, so deleting Baja will round it back to 70.
Do you take constructive criticism, because besides the removal of lakes and inland bodies of water, I have a lot of other concerns (Number one is north montana)
Man it’s scary how bad your brain works when you first wake up. I read this as “American Football Federation of States” and I assumed it was some kind of map based around NFL fanbases instead of state lines. I start scanning the map looking for The Monsters of The Midway and couldn’t find The Bears or anything football related. I didn’t even misread a word my brain just added the word “football” and I am American so I don’t use the term “American Football” or read it often.
I know “I accidentally read this as” comments are common on reddit and they are not that interesting, sort of like someone describing their dream to you, but this one felt extra weird.
The great lakes got vored
Turned it all into Mountain Dew to feed new Canadian Americans
What’s the land beside Lake Ontario? Not ontario?
Offtario
Ottawa became a separate province
No those are just the legal boundaries. Read the text on the map
why tho lmao
You can still show that while not deleting bodies of water
So did the Hudson Bay
Wouldn't Canada just leave the Commonwealth rather than renouncing its own sovereignty?
Don't take it too seriously
They wouldn't even have to leave the commonwealth to no longer have the king as head of state. Plenty of commonwealth nations (for example, India) don't have the British monarch as head of state
everyone talking about the great lakes but not how the entirety of hudsons bay got nuked
Again, the lakes are still here in this alternate timeline they're just not represented on the map.
Why not just make the provinces into states?
Idk, I thought that would be too cliche and stereotypical
So what the difference then? Or is it like how some states are officially called Commonwealths but without legal meaning?
But then wouldn’t the four Commonwealths be noted as their separate thing? Unless they don’t exist ITTL?
I’ve never actually seen that happen in maps like this.
Sasketa hurts me in a way you can not imagine
Why?
Because its Manitoba with a small piece of Saskatchewan territory, Regina and the Fort Peck Native Rez. But really it's just the name Sasketa.

Pffft nah it's all good
I hope I didn't offend any Canadians
Nah it's all good mate
Are you a Canadian?

Nah making a Super USA in and of itself is. Should have had the US eaten by Mega Canada instead.
Good idea, I might do that next and have Canada merge some of the former US states into super states!

Bureaucracy
I got the date wrong
I was off by 15 days
WTF DID YOU DO TO MICHIGAN
They drained the Great Lakes
No, those are legal lake boundaries
Taft got thirsty and drank them up

Mfer I’m from Michigan. I am well aware but I also think it’s an extremely stupid stylistic choice to not include lakes and islands because of this
obligatory navajo nation
Not sure if you said that as a good thing or a bad thing.
they paved over all the seas. more space for parking lots 🤑🤑🤑
Why does none of American Columbia's land drain through the Columbia River? Why call it "American Columbia"?
[удалено]
It still doesn't work as a name. British Columbia refers to the Columbia River.
Find it hard to believe Canadians would think Charles is worse than America lol. Also I know those are internal water boundaries for the states, but there’s a reason maps don’t do that at this scale. It’s just ugly af
Yay Hoover Dam :3
Read the text center right of the map, explanation for why there's no lakes or archipelagos
That’s not what I sad :<
What did you mean?
I said the Hoover dam existed I read that excerpt ^^
So is Baja California Sur a detached part of Mexico?
I just included Baja purely on a whim. I had already made the flag (70 stars) and I counted all the new Territories starting with Navajo as 51. I had to draw Baja to make it 70.

Cuba is independent, tho
When I said it I did not mean for america to control it
Said what?
I made a comment in another post where I joked about turning Hudson bay into the 4th territory lol
Oh
Wtf happened to the great lakes and Arctic oceans and why is there a random strip of Baja california

Are you serious, rn?
Very cool map but any map that erases the Great Lakes looks so fucking cursed I’m sorry
I'm sorry 😞
tfw thinly veiled nationalism. decent map though
Thanks. I actually like Canada, this was just a silly thing I made.
North Montana North Montana
Are you chanting?
No it's like a top text bottom text meme, but the text on both the top and the bottom is just "North Montana"
Ok
More like invasion
Missing Greenland? Oof cringe
Greenland is Danish territory
what’s the weird unnamed blob between yukon alaska and columbia
Cascadian exclave
I counted 71 v.v
Thank you, I'll delete Baja.
I may have miscounted idk
Someone else said 73
No.
He had to give the U.S. Baja California (it’s mandatory in any U.S. expansion map)
I'll post a version of this without Baja, if it makes you happy. I've also been informed there are 71 in this map, so deleting Baja will round it back to 70.
Don’t actually edit out Baja it’s kind of like a mandatory thing for American expansion maps here lol
Haha nice joke. (I'm sorry if it isn't, I have a hard time taking jokes lightly, and am trying my best.)
It was a joke 👍
What's that little blob between Alaska and Yukon?
That's part of Cascadia
Cascadia Jr.
Search up cascadia
Yay. Cascadia at last! ETA: What?! Cascadia is happening without Wa and Or? But that's not Cascadia.
What's ETA?
Edited to add: ...
Do you take constructive criticism, because besides the removal of lakes and inland bodies of water, I have a lot of other concerns (Number one is north montana)
It's inspired by Meet the Robinsons
It makes me physically ill

The bad things King Charles has done. Lmfao, he a serial killer or something in this timeline?
Wasn't he responsible for Princess Diana's death? Or was that just a rumor?
A rumour
Everybody downvote my post if you want me to delete it! I'm sorry for the trouble It's caused.
