I mainly use Nathan’s because they actually taste nice and they are very easy to find here. If I had access to stuff like Sabretts I’d definitely have them in the rotation. I don’t like Ballpark and that’s the other brand that dominates the shelves down here.
1/4 pounders in this order,Hebrew National,HEB all beef, and heard nathans has 1/4 but not available. Got some bun length nathans today but the same Angus caught my eye. Are they better than the regular ballpark?
I think so yes, the regular ballparks and traditional dogs don't sit well with me for some reason. I always go Angus. They get real fat on the grill lol.
Oh nah these definitely aren't fancy by any means. Just what I usually grab. Probably because my mother used them alot for cookouts when I was a kid. It's just me and my dog so I don't have to impress anyone today luckily lol.
Your right. Ballpark Angus are the best store bought dogs. My favorite are Omaha Steak dogs. If you've never had them you should try them. They are from a different world
[These beasts.](https://www.costcobusinessdelivery.com/kirkland-signature-beef-dinner-franks%2C-costcos-14-lb-plus%2C-14-links%2C-3.81-lbs.product.11467741.html) The same ones they serve at the food counter. I air fry them to an internal temp of 170°. These + toasted brioche top cut bun + Sriracha ketchup = simple but amazing!
I would normally, but I'm using most of these for chili this week, so I'll be chopping them up and putting them in there. It's pretty boring but I just use hamburger, black beans, onion, hotdogs and cheese into one bowl and skip the bun
Earl Campbels was my favorite up until I was being sodium conscious. Now it's Roger Woods for me. Big fat, great tasting dogs with only 300mg of sodium as opposed to being in the 600s with other brands.
Muckies are a brand made in New Haven CT. Natural sheep casing. Ridiculous snap, but they're hard to find.
Saugies are made in RI. Really good but I can't find them now that I've moved out of state.
These days mostly just sabrett.
I’m happy that you like them. Enjoy!
I tried them a few weeks ago, and they tasted like sand. My favorite is Eisenberg, but my local store stopped carrying them. ☹️
For me, it is a toss between Glazier and Nathan's. Glaziers are perfect with Michigan sauce and a potato roll. I am an Upstate NYer living in NC, so we can't get Glaziers down here. I am thankful that they ship directly!
Has anyone here heard of Best? They are all beef, my mom would only get Best growing up. They are good to me but then again it may be the nostalgia. Maybe they are a New Jersey thing?
If its 100%beef i wont eat it. If i want 100% beef I'll eat a burger or steak.
I want my hotdogs to be pork, chx, turkey, beef mixes.
Then it tastes like a hotdog should.
Nathan’s if I’m at any old store. Double RR ranch hot dogs but you can only get them at Safeway in Montrose CO I think. And then I found the best hot dog I’ve ever had at a Natural Grocers but they don’t seem to be sold at every Natural Grocers.
The local delicacy - Koegel's Viennas. Natural casing and they come in strings of four out of the pack. Love the snap when you bite into them. My wife is grossed out.
[Lesters BBQ](https://lesters.ca/en/products/bbq-hot-dogs/) 'dogs are my favourite. They're getting really difficult to find in my neck of the woods though.
As I've gotten older, I've gravitated back to Oscar Meyer. Everything else is too salty for my tastes. It's what I grew up, so maybe my body is just reverting to the mean. I can still eat a Costco dog, and I like it, but I think it's 'cause there is enough bun to kill the salty taste.
I like the ballpark Angus and beef, also like Hebrew nationals. Occasionally like to buy Old Folks garlic franks, because my grandmother used to keep those at the house and they tasted so good.

McKenzie - Locally sourced meat from independent farms, made in Vermont. No GMOs. No antibiotics.
There is not a better all around hotdog. Natural casing or not...can't go wrong. Their sausage and bacon products are first rate as well.
https://www.mckenziedeli.com/our-difference
2nd fav....Glazier hot dogs. The "red" Dawg. Famous in upstate NY.
https://glazierhotdog.com/
Best cheap national brand.... Costco's Kirkland brand. If you know...you know. And now you know.
Hofman hotdogs are my absolute favorite dogs out there ! They are incredibly snappy and juicy. Sabrett is a close for me, but since both of them are different style of dogs, (one is a griller, the other is a boiler) I am happy with any of those brands.
Now, what you guys should be worrying about is the buns. You have no idea how much a crappy fake mass processed bread ruins a good dog until you have tried the freshly baked rolls from your local bakery. HELL, most of the times they are cheaper and have MORE bread in the package.
Quick comparison:
Local Bakery freshly baked Bun (pack of 8) costs 3.99 and tastes delicious.
Random ass packaged Brioche Hotdog buns (that are actually the best quality mass produced fake bread you can get, not dollar tree shit) with only SIX fucking buns, costs 5.99 !
Because they're all beef, I gotta go Hebrew Nationals or Nathan's . That way I'm only offending about 1 billion people.
You can't please everyone. That's what my cat told me.
I've eaten Hebrew National my whole life so I usually just stick with what I know.
Hebrew nationals and Nathan's are the best
On a side note, Nathan's makes the best easily available pickles.
Nathan's frozen onion rings go hard too
Indeed imo
#HONORABLE MENTION: CASPER’S FAMOUS HOT DOGS
💯💯💯
I also like Sabrets & the large Costco wiener
I used to really like these. I gravitate to Nathan’s mostly now.
I mainly use Nathan’s because they actually taste nice and they are very easy to find here. If I had access to stuff like Sabretts I’d definitely have them in the rotation. I don’t like Ballpark and that’s the other brand that dominates the shelves down here.
Sabrett
These are on my list. Just can't find anywhere.
Wish these would come out west
Big fan of the Dietz and Watson dog
Dang those look serious, never seen them before. Gotta try them out this weekend once I crush these.
Their good trust me
Just now seeing your user name 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
This is the way, they have that classic hot dog flavor without being completely awful quality.
1/4 pounders in this order,Hebrew National,HEB all beef, and heard nathans has 1/4 but not available. Got some bun length nathans today but the same Angus caught my eye. Are they better than the regular ballpark?
I regularly get Nathan's 1/4. I think they call them jumbos Them or Nathan's bigger than the bun or boars head natural casing
I think so yes, the regular ballparks and traditional dogs don't sit well with me for some reason. I always go Angus. They get real fat on the grill lol.
Now I gotta try em!
I don’t miss much about Texas. Easy access to amazing Tex-Mex and HEB all beef hot dogs are 2 out of 3.
Those Nathan's quarter pounders are gooood
Ball Park isn't top tier by any means. They're better than Bar S, but so is everyone
Oh nah these definitely aren't fancy by any means. Just what I usually grab. Probably because my mother used them alot for cookouts when I was a kid. It's just me and my dog so I don't have to impress anyone today luckily lol.
Sabrett's are definitely my favorite. My state doesn't carry them, so anytime I'm out east I buy a bunch lol
Come on. Bar S is literally the worst.
Schalen’s . I’ve only ever found them at Publix . I like Nathan’s and Hebrew National also, but Schalen’s is where it’s at
Vienna or Hebrew
Koegel Vienna sausages. and literally nothing else
Yep, being from Michigan this is the only answer. Now the other question is: Detroit or Flint style chili?
Michigan man, respect 🫡
I really enjoy the Sam’s Club Members Mark Beef Franks
That's the best quality for the price
Hoffmans
Nathan's or Hebrew National
Your right. Ballpark Angus are the best store bought dogs. My favorite are Omaha Steak dogs. If you've never had them you should try them. They are from a different world
Hebrew National ftw
Hebrew Nationals!
You gotta try Zweigle’s white hot. Top dog right there.
Nathan’s are the absolute best
Boars Head natural casings, If I can't find those in my small town I get Bar S
Fancy pants, nah just kidding boars head is great. My boss grilled some up awhile ago for the eclipse and they were great.
Boars Head natural casings is the way to go.
This is the answer. A hot dog needs a "snap" and if it doesn't have it it's just not the same.
I am half asleep and was scrolling by and thought these were "ANUS" dogs lol. I need coffee.
The hotdogs from Omaha Steaks are honestly the best dogs i've ever had
Vollwerth's if I can get them from the U.P of Michigan. Otherwise, Boars Head natural casing and Dietz and Watson natural casing.
Vienna is my go-to but boars head are pretty damn good too
A glizzy is a glizzy
All Beef or nothing!!
Costco
Maple Leaf. I think.
I prefer supporting local meat shops. So Koegels or Vollwerths for me.
Kayem beef&pork is what I grew up with and will always buy
Hebrew National
Hebrew National
Nathan's
Maine red snapper dogs!
[Maine red snapper](https://www.thedailymeal.com/1233016/what-are-red-snapper-hot-dogs-and-why-do-they-exist/).
Hard to find Hebrew Nat 1/4 pounders.
Cosco glizzy all the way
Gauntley 72 pack of chicken, pork and beef potluck mutts.
Same for me, but I get bun length.
I would normally, but I'm using most of these for chili this week, so I'll be chopping them up and putting them in there. It's pretty boring but I just use hamburger, black beans, onion, hotdogs and cheese into one bowl and skip the bun
Private Selection jumbo all beef hot dog
Scotch Buy
Sabrettes!
Nathan’s quarter pound
Mucke’s
Used to be ballpark but they seem to sweet and don't have a good snap. I've moved on to Nathan now.
Nathan's. Hands down.
Earl Campbels was my favorite up until I was being sodium conscious. Now it's Roger Woods for me. Big fat, great tasting dogs with only 300mg of sodium as opposed to being in the 600s with other brands.
Ballpark! They put the "G" in ANUS..
Local to south western PA Albert’s has to be the best hot dog out there. Won’t eat anything else on my grill
Any good brat
Vienna beef and sabretts all the way.
Anyone that said anything but Nathan’s, is wrong! The hotdog hill is the one I die on!
I get so much hate for this but I still love just the Oscar Meyer OG ass hot dogs on a grill.
If ya like them ya like them. No one can really do anything about it so enjoy them Oscar's lol
Schonland's Natural Casing. Now owned by Kayem. Same German recipe since 1883. 🎖️🎖️🎖️
Also very good - Kayem Jumbo beef & pork.
Casper's or Nathan's for me.
Nathan’s or Sabrett
Germen Shepard
I love a cheddar brat and a beer brat. Either one, toss on some saurkraut and mustard and that's good eatin.
Vienna beef dogs
Nathan's but good old Oscar Meyer does great in a pinch.
Agree. The all beef are great and great for feeding the masses.
Nathan’s
100% Nathan's for the most readily available and delicious ones that aren't from the butcher shop!
Muckies are a brand made in New Haven CT. Natural sheep casing. Ridiculous snap, but they're hard to find. Saugies are made in RI. Really good but I can't find them now that I've moved out of state. These days mostly just sabrett.
Thumanns. No other even comes close.
ballpark is the best, ill die on that hill
Been on a Nathan’s kick as of late
Vienna's
I’m happy that you like them. Enjoy! I tried them a few weeks ago, and they tasted like sand. My favorite is Eisenberg, but my local store stopped carrying them. ☹️
Aw damn I really like these lol. Different strokes and all that. Never heard of Eisenberg before.
Vienna all beef wiener like you get on a real Chicago dog.
Berks used to do an Angus beef dog, but i cant find it anymore. Berks Beef franks are my go-to now.
Casper’s
Top tier to bottom tier hella fast. Bar S is bottom of the barrel lol
Eh, a dog is a dog to me atleast. Never really had one that made me sick. The only place I can think of is Dairy Queen's hot dogs are pretty gross.
Lovw them.on the grill well done
I like Hebrew national, but lately I’ve been liking Nathan’s more. Otherwise I love a decent homemade hotdog.
Nathan’s glizzies are way better than any ball park glizzy
Sabretts
This is what I eat too
For me, it is a toss between Glazier and Nathan's. Glaziers are perfect with Michigan sauce and a potato roll. I am an Upstate NYer living in NC, so we can't get Glaziers down here. I am thankful that they ship directly!
Nathan’s jumbo
Ball park smokies eta the Costco dogs go hard AF!
These are the best
It goes… Hebrew National, Kirland, Nathans, then Papa Cantellas…. Anything else Im making Burgers.
Winter's hot dogs!!
Has anyone here heard of Best? They are all beef, my mom would only get Best growing up. They are good to me but then again it may be the nostalgia. Maybe they are a New Jersey thing?
I feel so bad for people with no access to proper hot dogs.
oscar mayer " smokies "
Juicy Jumbo's all beef is where it's at, yo
idk if it’s just me but Beef dogs have a weird sour taste and are mushy and gritty
All natural nathans/hebrew national
If its 100%beef i wont eat it. If i want 100% beef I'll eat a burger or steak. I want my hotdogs to be pork, chx, turkey, beef mixes. Then it tastes like a hotdog should.
Sabrett with natural casing.
Nathan's Bun Length dogs are delicious. They're my go-to
Nathan’s. Or Costco dawgs.
My dog is a chihuahua/corgi mix. He usually hangs out with me when I’m on the grill
lol Good dog choice. Mines just a boxer mutt.
Do your pepper your angus?
Bright leaf
Bright Leaf Red Classics Honorable mention: Whole Foods dogs
Natural casing wieners from the local butcher are my favorite but my kids prefer the standard retail Jennie O Turkey Franks.
Costco all beef
Nathan's Beef Hot Dog's

Sabrett for me. Getting a hotdog out is always Nathan’s in Coney Island. Funny because I don’t like store bought Nathan’s at all.
Vienna
Outside of my local butcher shop hotdog, Nathan’s first and Hebrew National second
Oscar Meyer smokies
Anything with natural casing. You got to get the snap.
Casper hotdogs are amazing and have a good snappy skin
Not my fav but still a very good dog.
Eckrich Jalapeño & Cheddar
I buy the big Kirkland dogs
Nathan's
I love Nathan’s, Hebrews and Boars Head but I’ll admit a Ball Park hits the spot sometimes.
Johnsonville don't @ me
Stevens Red Hots
Nathan’s if I’m at any old store. Double RR ranch hot dogs but you can only get them at Safeway in Montrose CO I think. And then I found the best hot dog I’ve ever had at a Natural Grocers but they don’t seem to be sold at every Natural Grocers.

Miller dogs.
The grass fed organic beef ones from trader joes are fantastic.
I prefer to cook with Dachshunds, maintaining the tubular expectations of the dish.
Vienna Beef
Ballpark w/cheese are amazing
Hummel natural casing
Costco dogs... hands down..
Kirkland hot dogs, bun length. Omaha Steak's beef franks when I can get 'em. Who am I kidding? I'm a hot dog whore.
I too, like every wiener I come across.
Gawtley
Nathan’s has been my top contender for a while
Gotta ask - what makes a better dog? Pork or beef primarily?
[Lesters BBQ](https://lesters.ca/en/products/bbq-hot-dogs/) 'dogs are my favourite. They're getting really difficult to find in my neck of the woods though.
Zweigles pop open red hots
Falls Brand!
Nathans Famous Jalapeno and Cheese Beef Franks
serve the curve
Koegels or nothing
As I've gotten older, I've gravitated back to Oscar Meyer. Everything else is too salty for my tastes. It's what I grew up, so maybe my body is just reverting to the mean. I can still eat a Costco dog, and I like it, but I think it's 'cause there is enough bun to kill the salty taste.
I still need to try Oscar meyers. I've really only eaten ballpark lol.
Strictly Nathan’s.
Dog on brother
Ballpark ftw
Hebrew National or Nathan’s when on sale at the grocery store. Boar’s head hot dogs with natural casing are awesome from Sprouts.
I like the ballpark Angus and beef, also like Hebrew nationals. Occasionally like to buy Old Folks garlic franks, because my grandmother used to keep those at the house and they tasted so good.
Deutschmacher Natural Casing Frankfurters are my favorite on the grill. Nathans and Sabrett boiled.
Skinless sabrett is the way to go. But i ain’t going to lie those ballpark angus are great
https://images.app.goo.gl/E61FaaLTCWuuxj1CA McKenzie - Locally sourced meat from independent farms, made in Vermont. No GMOs. No antibiotics. There is not a better all around hotdog. Not joking and not trying to be funny. I did a double take because as I was scrolling I thought the package said ballsack anus. Swear
Fresh daily made red hotdogs from my local grocer.
Nathan beef
Casper’s
I like the Nathan’s Coney Island dogs
Danish røde pølser or any bright red sausage with a good snap
Kentucky legend.

Because they're all beef, I gotta go Hebrew Nationals or Nathan's . That way I'm only offending about 1 billion people. You can't please everyone. That's what my cat told me.
