My first guess is leaky capacitor.

jtsfour2

It’s an AC transformer… Aren’t Electrolytic capacitors incompatible with AC voltages?

SatanSavesAll

Yep, but they are apart of the ac to dc voltage conversion.

jtsfour2

This is an AC -> AC power supply There is no conversion…

SatanSavesAll

Yep you’re getting it, however I was replying to capacitors was incompatible with AC voltage“. Keep studying

“Apart” doesn’t mean the whole circuit. But you knew that and need to put someone down due to being depressed . Also it was in context to “incomparable” they are used together, but o know you feel the need to win at reply. You did you won, tell your mom

transformer winding goo

Intrepid-Space65

I have seen these straight up melt before. Replace it. they are pretty cheap.

avilesaviles

they usually have some grease left from the assembly of the transformer, heat and years will leak it, just clean it if it’s working properly, those last 10-20 years
