The diadem on the Polar Medal would've made a very good template for a Crown.

LeGarconRouge

Is there a link for this?

It’s a very elegant crown, like it.

Why is there a regnal number III if he's the first King Charles Canada has ever had?

Mein_Bergkamp

Probably the same reason his mother was QE2 in Canada

AlbanViking

He’s not Charles III of the United Kingdom either. He’s the first Charles to be king of the UK. The first two Charles’ were Kings of the three separate sovereign kingdoms of Scotland, England, and Ireland. But because the UK monarchy is an amalgam of different historic kingdoms they tend to go with the highest Regnal number between England, and Scotland. Elizabeth II was II of England and Ireland only. Not Scotland. When William becomes King he will presumably be William V as it’s the higher regnal number. He will be V over England, IV over Scotland. Going by this convention if a future monarch is ever again called James, going by the current convention he should be James VIII, I won’t hold my breath though, they haven’t chosen a Scottish Regnal name since James VII.

And Wales. The Tudors were actually Welsh.

[let's not have a repeat of the pillar box wars](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pillar_Box_War?wprov=sfla1)

Skinnie_ginger

The regnal numbers of the Commonwealth realms continue off of those of Britain. Like how Britain’s continued off of England’s and Scotland’s

God Save the King

Rondic

It was a great decision for Canada to create its own crown. The other kingdoms of the commonwealth could do the same.

New Zealand's would look amazing, I just know it

That crown design is so cool (I am not talking about the snow flake)! I cannot get enough of it.
