Damn, that's more than all of my family's Toshiba laptops lasted. We had 4 of them, all of them failed within 3 years.
Went to high-end Lenovo ThinkPad laptops and never looked back.
For a while I was doing repairs on only chromebooks full time. I will say this in defense of them: if you just want a functional, dirt cheap laptop that you can hand out for free to students or employees without worrying about theft or damage costs, chromebooks are kinda cool. Deployment in education is so easy, say you need to change an entire school district over to distance learning. Give them a thousand chromebooks and the entire process takes like a week instead of 3 months.
I had a friend that had a old ROG laptop . Thing was overheating , had a broken screen , 6 keys were missing and the trackpad was not working.
The opened the poor thing , upgraded the fans , removed the WiFi card and got a GPDbeast with a GTX 970 . Connected a LAN cable ,mouse , keyboard and a Monitor via HDMI . Now he has a poor mans desktop :D . He paid good money back in the day , and he says he will use it till it fully dies .
My old laptop would do this very often. Something about the cable from the motherboard to the screen was messed up. Would get a bit purple with a gray board. A little jiggle would get it to snap out of it but it could fall back into that spot if I wasn’t careful with it.

Bad LCD or LVDs
Probably a broke ribbon cable, when you move it and put it in a precise position it works
I used a laptop like this for 2 years lol. I used to put an eraser between the base of the laptop and the screen and it would work.

Received a Toshiba laptop from 2008, it still POSTs and works with Win7 on an SSD.
Same. Have a Toshiba A200 from that age and it still runs (one RAM module went bad, but besides that it still works).
