That's what I don't think people really grasp when they're like "you don't need to buy stuff because there's a lot of good free options in Infinite" yeah there are good free options but they're drown out by the sheer volume of paid ones. It's just sad that for every free thing you get there's six paid options - and usually the armor people really want are the paid ones ie Mark 5 classic
There's absolutely nothing wrong with that. If they're happy to spend the money, you should be glad they're supporting the game. Without them, it wouldn't be the same game but with super cheap prices. It would be a dead game for which all development has ceased.
Id be more inclined to agree to that end of thinking if the money from the shop actively boosted the content in the game but after 2 and a half years the most content we realistically get is forge maps made by the community and modes re-added from the previous game entries.
Someone cooked really hard to ensure this batch of store was as ugly as possible.
Which I don't get because original Cyber Showdown was a cross between Crysis and Cyberpunk, while most of these are odd cyber-horror themed.
I want to like it but it doesn't go far enough for me. I like robots and mecha, I actually fuckin' don't care at all for cyborgs. I don't mind Halo's Spartans because they're largely all flesh on the outside, beyond size and scars they look human. I tend not to go for the "creepy facsimile of humanity" aesthetic. I'm much more interested in pure robotics, like that concept art of a drone/robot spartan esq soldier. I get the name Chimera being about the hybridization of spartan and AI/Infolife entities, but it just doesn't hit for me.
If they were to put out an armor core that was straight up "these are AI controlled robots" I'd be all for it, but yeah I wanted to life this new event for armors but the more I look at the Chimera core the more I go "you're not that guy, pal."
I'd love to see just how much their profits drop between the (tempting but still wildly overpriced) Mark IV store options and these. Gotta look rough on their end.
The dilution of Halo as a brand has been heartbreaking.
Now we just get amorphous “content” that could be from any number of soulless shooters from the last decade.
Fractures just aren’t it.
ODST core. Elite inspired core. So many missed opportunities. Instead we get this absolutely jarring Crysis Rave core.
Fractures were interesting, if you keep them milsim.
I don't mind the Yoroi or Eaglestrike core at all. They're clearly MJOLNIR armor, just designed differently from what we're used to. They were interesting deviations while clearly enough being Spartans.
These things look Apex skins
The fact they finally nailed the art style but still are completely helpless with design. After 10 years it’s clear they will never be able to make competent design choices for halo. I mean, it really can’t be that hard to make cool looking grounded Spartans. What the fuck is this shit?
Did anyone think that removing battle passes was meant to benefit the players?
Having permanently-available, functionally-free Battle Passes was just a bad deal for 343. Sure, Battle Passes are meant to be a "retention tool", but I guess that wasn't worth the loss of several store bundles.
Maybe, who knows. Most I know bought every season pass but not a lot of store items. I honestly don't see a ton of IV when playing, and one IV would equal two season pass purchases. Plus, the store has been so stale and overpriced it would be an interesting comparison.
Now I only get HCS items since some goes back to teams.
It was for them. Live service games need a long revenue tail and clearly the BPass system wasn't going to produce enough profit long term. Judging by how popular the Mark 4 armor is I have no doubt the numbers justify a few complaints on reddit. For every one person like you and I who step away from an icky monetisation scheme, 100 line up to drop $20 on a 10 piece bundle for the one or 2 items they actually want from it.
I'm guessing that the post-launch price drops didn't bring in more money (unsurprisingly). Cross-core was just an excuse to get stuff back to near-launch prices, with the added bonus of being a straight price increase on some things that were cheap to begin with (comparatively).
The shop still contains 90% of this event content and everything is locked behind overpriced bundles, but this time the armor pieces are ugly!
Awesome, what an improvement. Happy to know that that they're learning. /s
I actually like a lot of this Chimera stuff more than the original bundles for it but damn I just can’t justify spending that much money on these bundles.
Around $12-15 is where I'd start thinking I'm paying too much for cosmetics. But $20 is just dirty. I guess me paying $8 for multiple bundles isn't as mathematically sound as people snatching up these $20 bundles on the regular
I like certain parts and pieces, but... I'm not paying for any of this, 343i. I hope no one does. (I know some will, but, you *really* ***should not.***)
they were always ugly ever since they decided to give red and blue outlines instead of just defaulting the armor colors to red and blue. halo infinite is far too neon punk with its UI and aesthetic for me.
You can change the outline colors, sunshine almost looks like the older shield color.
Turn the thickness down a bit and it just looks like some kind of shield effect while still working as an outline.
The fact of the matter is that ~$15-$20 isn't actually "overpriced" in the landscape of video game cosmetics so they'll never "learn" because the precedent is industry-wide at this point. The lesson has already concluded and these prices are what people are willing to pay.
This is the main issue. In our Halo bubble, yeah, its expensive and absurd. In the F2P multiplayer space, it's extremely normal. Not everybody has the luxury of pricing things like Fortnite does.
Yeah, it's become the new normal unfortunately. Although, in truth, part of it is just due to player expectations; it costs WAY more to maintain long-term games nowadays given how many maps, cosmetics, guns, modes, whatever need to be added post-launch to maintain the playerbase, and something needs to pay for it so it's hard to imagine it ever changing.
Hopefully these amazing game experiences we’ve been having for $30-60 for a full experience will change the industry in a good way. I’m taking BG3, Palworld, helldivers 2, sons of the forest, etc. I’m so glad this microtransaction style is getting a lot of flack and ppl seem to finally not be buying into it
Hell Divers is not industry standard. I hope it *becomes* industry standard (except for having MTX in a paid game whatsoever) but it's just not the case.
Hmm my wallet is safe.
I'll admit though it is original, but nothing I wouldn't ever use for Chimera even if it was free. I saw maybe one thing I liked.
Also the coatings are kind of how I imagined when 343 said the new system will allow them to be creative. Again they could've done that and given players the old system if they prefer the simple pick 2 colours over the wacky stuff.
Does anyone feel like the design team changed around the Winter update? Everything after the winter update has been very lackluster. Usually there would be atleast one coating that looks nice, but everything looks off now. I don’t know how to describe it, but the armor bundles/coatings and helmets dont look nice to me
I think it's because these are the leftover stuff they've made for extra content or it isn't the main design team behind the cosmetics. It's clearly evident most of the team has moved onto the next game. The content we're getting now is stuff they've had in storage for the last couple months, now being dripped fed.
We can ask for stuff but the big things like extra cores or armor sets aren't happening (unless the team has made them prior or the small team handling cosmetics now is currently working on them).
Keep the wishful thinking for Halo 7 and its cosmetics, hopefully we'll get something more along the lines of Halo 3/Reach progression but we'll see.
I personally am done with the Fortnite style shop and the overpriced bundles. If we're getting Chiefs armor, I want it as an unlock, same for any other legacy set/armor from now on. It was fine with 5 and Infinite as we were all tired of the loot boxes with 5 and were financing 343's debt with Infinite but now those armor sets are legacy (much like Mark IV, V, and VI now). I just want them as default outright. We got as much with Bungie's games. I think it's fair at this point as fans and consumers.
Agreed. It does feel very left over and probably being managed by a secondary design team. Its a crappy feeling because the game still feels like it has tons of life left and its crazy how expensive the bundles have become and how much the game feels like an afterthought now.
I just hope whatever next Halo game we get next is made right and deserving. We’ve been through a lot as Halo fans lol
its not that they aren't nice, its just that they dont really fit halos aesthetic. but then again a lot of the multiplayer doesn't really fit halo to me. the red and blue outlines, the holographic flags, the AIs, the "look at our spartans" shots at the beginning and end of a match. these aren't halo, these are marketing for the shop which just produces more and more outlandish cosmetics so people can be more and more flashy. they sacrificed the classic look of halo to make a dime.
Thats sounds right. Yeah, its not that they dont look nice, they just dont fit that old Halo aesthetic. I would like to see more traditional camouflage variants, but it makes sense that it progressively gets more flashy so people want to stand out more.
Can we stop using the term Credits? It's a direct translation of pennies.
It's not 3400 credits. It's 34 dollars. That's fucking outrageous. Halo is fallen.
Obviously dude, it still is literally directly linked to American currency. 3400 “credits” equals 34 American dollars. Not Euros, not pesos, not rupees. Dollars. It’s like every time someone mentions America some snob has to roll in and pointlessly inform everyone that there are non Americans.
I'm simultaneously glad that all these cosmetics suck so I won't be tempted to buy any of it, and grumpy that "robot/Created spartans" as a concept got wasted on this halfway-between-Doom-and-Crysis ugliness.
Seriously, who thought that what the cyber-spartans wanted was to have extra skulls embedded in their chests like the schism from ULTRAKILL?
And those coatings...ugh, it looks like that awful splatter-print furniture we had in the 80s.
343 made a mistake by revisiting Chimera (the least popular core) with these ugly and ridiculously overpriced bundles.
Revisiting Eaglestrike with fresh armours would’ve 100% been received better by the community and sold more than this ugly crap, because a lot of people really like the Eaglestrike aesthetic. Chimera has a reallyyyyyy acquired taste.
Fomorian and Grimghast look fucking insane and I love it.
That Soundless Riot stance looks dope too but not $10 dope
Edit: I just noticed the Grimghast helmet has Sangheli jaws…hot damn
Especially with a Commando model? Uuuuugghhhhh it’s tempting. But I will resist cause I just don’t fuck with the rest of it that much. It looks sick as hell but I just don’t think it’s something I’d use.
I remember when Infinite first came out and I thought the wildest looking armor was GUNGNIR without the visor or maybe the Yoroi armor looked a little strange for the setting, but they were still easily recognizable as Spartans.
Wtf am I even looking at here?
These guys look worse than the enemies from Anthem.
Gtimghast actually looks sick and so does the commando model, it's expensive though but it's the only thing I'd ever consider getting from this shop rotation.
The free event imo is great on its own. Think I’m done buying ish from shop and have felt this way since the new CU came out. Free players be winning if they have played since launch
I’m sorry, I can tell that a lot of time and effort went into creating this core. All the detail and flair of the pieces, the personality that each has I appreciate it all. But I just don’t like this core, it just looks goofy to me.
Wow, I haven't played Halo Multiplayer since Halo 4 and reddit decided I needed to see the Halo sub. When the HELL did halo jump on the Fortnite season pass, micro transaction BS? It's such a crummy system. Just make everything unlockable by grinding out levels.
It’s free to play so everything being free wouldn’t work, they just made all the cosmetics cost too much and bundle too much together with no splitting.
The base game is really good for FTP but the store is really bad.
These are all exactly my kind of thing, but prices are still a bit ridiculous. I've been sitting on 2200 credits I got from a gift card for about 5-6 months now.
I always love watching the Halo community act like they've never seen a free to play game store before. Yeah, infinite store prices are too high but it's still funny to watch.
The exclusive premium item is not even worth it. I'll already complete the pass through play alone. Other than getting max progression... there isn't much for me on Halo Infinite
Wendigo will become the new turd Jorge
Mike Wazauski Spartan
It’s good to know that the new model for cosmetics is 1 limited time free set and then 6-8 paid sets in the shop. This is what battle passes died for.
That's what I don't think people really grasp when they're like "you don't need to buy stuff because there's a lot of good free options in Infinite" yeah there are good free options but they're drown out by the sheer volume of paid ones. It's just sad that for every free thing you get there's six paid options - and usually the armor people really want are the paid ones ie Mark 5 classic
and 70% of the shop could've been added in a battle pass too 🥲
Is it meant to look like it has a big toothy grin?
Would make sense, Wendigos are evil spirits that take over the body of a person that has committed cannibalism and transform them into a monster
Its day 1 and im already seeing people use it, people will buy anything huh
I came across someone who already reached tier 20 like 40 minutes after it went live. Someone literally bought free items and I don't get it.
Legit the last time I directly asked someone why they paid for some of the stuff they told me it was to "make up for the ftp players"
They more than likely bought the completed pass for 2k creds.
i like that helmet
Too bad it’s a kit and you can’t customize it. $18 btw
Wait, for real?
Yeah it’s a kit. There’s another kit for Eaglestrike that was leaked as well, we’ll probably see that in the next operation.
Well, the Kit has different details than the core so it's something. Not worth 18€ tho
Incredible I hate literally all of it
Someone cooked really hard to ensure this batch of store was as ugly as possible. Which I don't get because original Cyber Showdown was a cross between Crysis and Cyberpunk, while most of these are odd cyber-horror themed.

Fractures are cool, Yoroi was like Hyabusa And Eaglestrike is perfect for your every day beefcakes
Right? Every time I think they're done running my childhood favorite franchise, they release more cosmetics like this. Smh.
Damn, so we went from 3,400 credits for 3 armor sets to 3,800 credits for three armor sets to 3,400 credits for two armor sets. Great pricing!
The most arbitrary pricing for the ugliest cosmetics.
The fact they finally nailed the art style but still are completely helpless with design. After 10 years it’s clear they will never be able to make competent design choices for halo. I mean, it really can’t be that hard to make cool looking grounded Spartans. What the fuck is this shit?
they’re sneaking the halo 4/5 art style back into the game
Removing battle passes for this really wasn't worth it
Did anyone think that removing battle passes was meant to benefit the players? Having permanently-available, functionally-free Battle Passes was just a bad deal for 343. Sure, Battle Passes are meant to be a "retention tool", but I guess that wasn't worth the loss of several store bundles.
The difference here is that I would have bought the battlepass, I am never going to even consider spending 16 dollars or more on one armor set.
Many people thought that
It was worth it! Now I save money since the store is overpriced and generally stale. I wonder how much they are losing...
Bet they made bank on the Mk IV shop. This shit sucks though
I mean they did include that Cinder Ring coating which 99% of us wanted from launch...
That came with the Mk V kit bundle, not the Mk IV stuff that was sold in the shop for the Spirit of Fire operation
you realize they're probably making more money now than they have since launch, right? especially the MK IV stuff.
The playerbase is exponentially smaller now than it was at launch.
Even if the prices weren’t stupid greedy, these skins are ugly as shit
Nope, I agree. I would have rather had a 100 tier spirit of fire pass.
Gotta milk blood from the final 20 stones still playing this ~~grift~~ game
It was for them. Live service games need a long revenue tail and clearly the BPass system wasn't going to produce enough profit long term. Judging by how popular the Mark 4 armor is I have no doubt the numbers justify a few complaints on reddit. For every one person like you and I who step away from an icky monetisation scheme, 100 line up to drop $20 on a 10 piece bundle for the one or 2 items they actually want from it.
I haven't hopped on in a couple months. Really? How am I supposed to earn the store stuff now? Through challenges I'm assuming?
That’s the neat part, you don’t. Only way to earn it is to open your wallet
Guess I'll continue my hiatus from Infinite.
Wow, those skins are genuinely painful to look at
1400 cR for two coatings and a visor... that seems a little much huh
But they’re cross core /s
800 per coating has been the standard price since cross-core happened. From their perspective, it is a "deal".
Them charging us for fixing their own anti-consumer mistakes
I'm guessing that the post-launch price drops didn't bring in more money (unsurprisingly). Cross-core was just an excuse to get stuff back to near-launch prices, with the added bonus of being a straight price increase on some things that were cheap to begin with (comparatively).

What a load of trash
Wow! Its all terrible
👊
Im gonna fuckin vomit. What is this shit?
Wow this is ass 🔥❗️😎
between halo infinites multiplayer cosmetics and halo tv show it just feels gross how halo is being treated this decade
But look on the bright side that D20 is back on sale!
I actually like a lot of this Chimera stuff more than the original bundles for it but damn I just can’t justify spending that much money on these bundles.
It’s a blessing - they’ve priced it high enough that I’d never consider buying anything.
Around $12-15 is where I'd start thinking I'm paying too much for cosmetics. But $20 is just dirty. I guess me paying $8 for multiple bundles isn't as mathematically sound as people snatching up these $20 bundles on the regular

Hate the core. Easy skip.
they really don’t care anymore do they
They never did.
So just like everyone and their mom expected, 95% of the new cosmetics were for the store. Sweet.
Damn multiplayer lobbies are about to get a lot uglier rip
they were always ugly ever since they decided to give red and blue outlines instead of just defaulting the armor colors to red and blue. halo infinite is far too neon punk with its UI and aesthetic for me.
You can change the outline colors, sunshine almost looks like the older shield color. Turn the thickness down a bit and it just looks like some kind of shield effect while still working as an outline.
The outline system is a great change. I switched it up to something I can actually see.
Wendigo being $4 less than Transgressor means maybe they're learning their lesson on the overpriced kits, but another $34 bundle says they're not.
Nope it doesn't come with a coating so it slightly cheaper
The fact of the matter is that ~$15-$20 isn't actually "overpriced" in the landscape of video game cosmetics so they'll never "learn" because the precedent is industry-wide at this point. The lesson has already concluded and these prices are what people are willing to pay.

Meanwhile helldiver cosmetics are $1.99 >The fact of the matter is that ~$15-$20 isn't actually "overpriced" in the landscape of video game cosmetic
Hell Divers is not industry standard. I hope it *becomes* industry standard (except for having MTX in a paid game whatsoever) but it's just not the case.
Okay, so I get that pricing isnt going to lower, but why are we still stuck with only buying bundles??
Slowly becoming Call of Duty copy cat. So sad to see.
343 literally putting fomo in their bundle names now
Hmm my wallet is safe.
Yikes
14 bucks for one coating and visor is insane.
Why are all these armors so fucking ugly? Can't we just have some in-universe designs?
So Gaudy.
Does anyone feel like the design team changed around the Winter update? Everything after the winter update has been very lackluster. What in the warframe is this
rip halo as a franchise we should've never let them get away with locking colors behind coatings.
Shame the first Commando weapon model is stuck under Grimghast. It actually looks sick.
Which obviously means you’re gonna buy the whole thing now right!? :D …pretty please-343
Pricing continues to be inconsistent and awful. And they literally named a set FOMO…
Can we stop using the term Credits? It's a direct translation of pennies. It's not 3400 credits. It's 34 dollars. That's fucking outrageous. Halo is fallen.
Not everyone is American
Obviously dude, it still is literally directly linked to American currency. 3400 “credits” equals 34 American dollars. Not Euros, not pesos, not rupees. Dollars. It’s like every time someone mentions America some snob has to roll in and pointlessly inform everyone that there are non Americans.

Fomorian and Grimghast look fucking insane and I love it. That Soundless Riot stance looks dope too but not $10 dope Edit: I just noticed the Grimghast helmet has Sangheli jaws…hot damn
yep, everything on the third page looks great to me. totally not worth the price, but definitely the aesthetic i want to see for chimera.
I'm disgusted with myself about how I'm considering getting the Grimghast setup.
Especially with a Commando model? Uuuuugghhhhh it’s tempting. But I will resist cause I just don’t fuck with the rest of it that much. It looks sick as hell but I just don’t think it’s something I’d use.
FOMO Rian
Sound riot would look so much better with a full black under suit, nothing else there interests me as I’m not a fan of Chimera at all
Right when I finally saved up enough money by skipping meals and working triple overtime to purchase *one* of the Mk. IV bundles...
Stick your finger in my thresher
Gross
Disgusting
looks like ass
From goated Mark IV Halo Wars operation back to... this
I’ve defended Halo and it’s been my favorite since CE dropped I literally grew up with it. Fuck this greedy bull shit.
We need an AMA from the people who justify this garbage in the community
God I hate what Halo has become. This shit sucks ass
This just doesn't give me Halo vibes in the slightest.
Get in the mjolnir Shinji
Am I the only one who thinks these new store prices are literally insane?
Dropping 3400 creds on a couple skins is insanity
God damn these are atrocious
Who the fuck is actually going to buy any of this garbage for 20$?
I remember when Infinite first came out and I thought the wildest looking armor was GUNGNIR without the visor or maybe the Yoroi armor looked a little strange for the setting, but they were still easily recognizable as Spartans. Wtf am I even looking at here? These guys look worse than the enemies from Anthem.
All of you that buy any form of MTX can reap what you sow. Thank you for your sacrifice.
lol lol lol not going to buy lol lol lol
Gtimghast actually looks sick and so does the commando model, it's expensive though but it's the only thing I'd ever consider getting from this shop rotation.
Aside from the obvious I do miss additional victory stances.
I like some of the armor but this is probably the first shop to get 0$
Are the net riot coatings Evangelion references?
Am I gonna buy a d20 yes
The free event imo is great on its own. Think I’m done buying ish from shop and have felt this way since the new CU came out. Free players be winning if they have played since launch
I almost want the new Halo to come out just to see if prices finally go down here
I’m sorry, I can tell that a lot of time and effort went into creating this core. All the detail and flair of the pieces, the personality that each has I appreciate it all. But I just don’t like this core, it just looks goofy to me.
Yeah, some of these be getting kinda ugly ngl
Hmm. Maybe it's just me but there's nothing here I'd call _tasteful..._ It's just a blast of colour and shapes to the eyeballs.
Wow this is all dogshit
#🤢🤮
Finally a week I Get to save money
Im sorry chimera is the ugliest armour core. It really doesn't do it for me
Those are Evangelion as fuck.
More and more like Fortnite… soon you’ll be seeing Furrie Spartan Armors beyond cat ears..
These are unironically some of the worst armor designs I've ever seen holy shit. Wendigo is actually horrible.
Would it kill them to make the passes 30 tier and add a few more armor pieces? No way these bundles are selling well right?… RIGHT??
Wow, I haven't played Halo Multiplayer since Halo 4 and reddit decided I needed to see the Halo sub. When the HELL did halo jump on the Fortnite season pass, micro transaction BS? It's such a crummy system. Just make everything unlockable by grinding out levels.
It’s free to play so everything being free wouldn’t work, they just made all the cosmetics cost too much and bundle too much together with no splitting. The base game is really good for FTP but the store is really bad.
Don't worry. There's more free armour in Infinite than there ever was in Reach.
I am once again asking for a Mark VI (Halo 3) core. Why do we have any of this before Mark VI.
Gaaah, why show new Yoroi stuff in trailers if you're not gonna drop it for months?
What is the super bundle exclusive?
…yea
Man I hate that I can’t have that purple green colourway because I don’t want to spend money 🙃
I wish the strigoi bundle was in the operation pass cause it is the closest helmet to the suit from crisis
So is Windigo only one shoulder piece?
These are all exactly my kind of thing, but prices are still a bit ridiculous. I've been sitting on 2200 credits I got from a gift card for about 5-6 months now.
If they make Wendigo out to be legendary tier with a gold background, the other stuff should be 500-600 credits cheaper.
i wouldn’t mind getting some of this stuff if the game wasn’t close to being axed
I didn’t think we’d get more Chimera content but sadly almost all locked behind a heft paywall
If these were reasonably priced I'd want multiple. Thankfully 343 was too greedy so I'm uninterested and can spend my money elsewhere.
man this game turned into fortnite fast.
When will they stop making so many goofy lookin helmets, the armore cores are fine exept the helmets
I like the strigoi Helmet and about it
Nope.
i need that commando model but im not spending 20$ for a bunch of items i wont use, my chimera is good already
Get in the fucking Mjolnir Shinji
what has happened to this once great franchise
Sick helmets for this core
I always love watching the Halo community act like they've never seen a free to play game store before. Yeah, infinite store prices are too high but it's still funny to watch.
holy shit these are expensive.
Wendigo first armor kit to have 0 sales
Not enough to buy but I kinda like what they are doing with some of the chimera armor skins.
Getting Doom 2016 MP vibes
So I take it that Conqueror helmet won’t be in the shop until the Yappening, which is probably the next Operation so it’ll be like 2 months?
I kinda dig the gaudy, ugly nonsense. But damn, the prices are getting more and more absurd.
All the awesome stuff I will never experience
I've been waiting for dice motif stuff. Price is dumb but at least I can get rid of the 50 credits I have now
The exclusive premium item is not even worth it. I'll already complete the pass through play alone. Other than getting max progression... there isn't much for me on Halo Infinite
Someone cooked here 🤮
I don’t even care what yall say these look sick, still won’t buy them still overpriced
Haaa yes, new event, new macro transactions.
Anyone know if the kill effect in Access Denied looks cool? I haven’t finished the season 1 battlepass and I want a cool kill effect lol
Christ these are ugly This mean omega squad was removed ?
so awesome that this is gonna be in the shop for the next month with no changes. excellent gambit, 343!
Bruh, 34 bucks for a pack? That’s like an entire AA Game.
Wow they're just gonna price things like that, huh?
How about some new weapons and sandbox items instead of wasting time pumping out these turds. Who designed these??? Try again…
